˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ Restov .ೃ࿐

You were in Restov for your own reasons when you received a charter from the Lord Mayor of Restov, granting license to explore and map the section of the Stolen Lands known as the Greenbelt.

When you were given the charter, the surrounding areas may have been explained to you. The circumstance and place of explanation, however, were likely unique and different for each charter recipient. Perhaps bar gossip, payment in exchange for coin, or a reliable confidant:

Regions surrounding the Greenbelt (up to player discretion):

The North of the Greenbelt, lies lie the increasingly civilized farmlands and villages of Rostland. There is little wilderness to explore in this direction.

The East of the Greenbelt, the Kamelands, continue to rise, eventually becoming a legitimate mountain range known as the Tors of Levenies. These craggy peaks are dangerous as well, home to all manner of monsters, trolls, and worse - numerous ruins here hint that the Tors were once the home of a strange and towering race of giants. Beyond the tors lie the ragged steppes of Dunsward, claimed by a barbaric tribe of centaurs known as the Nomen.

The southern Greenbelt becomes increasingly dangerous and hostile, with rumors of sinister fey, lumbering owlbears, lizardfolk tribes, and a particularly dangerous tribe of trolls.

And the West of the Greenbelt slope gently away into a large and dangerous swampland known as Hooktongue Slough. This region is infested with tribes of boggards and lizardfolk, but also by dangerous monsters like hydras, nagas, creepy bug people, and worse. At the far side are the rugged hills of the Glenebon Uplands, no less safe with the presence of the barbarian tribes of the Tiger Lords.

Along with the charter, collectively, you and the others assigned were given a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with 50 charges and a poor-quality map (Hex Map link). This map has the territory segmented and measured out but is missing what is in each of these zones.

✧˚ · . Oleg’s Trading Post ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-

It’s Moonday, the 14th of Calistril (February), 4710. You left snow-covered Restov for an equally cold and wet place. You don’t think it’s likely to snow again until Winter circles around, but the evidence of Spring seems to be a week or two away.

Now you find yourselves (perhaps only vague acquaintances of one another) at a wooden palisade standing 10 feet high. At each corner of the palisade are 20-foot square watchtowers, all armed with a catapult left over from the site’s original use as a border fort. It’s difficult to tell the condition of the catapults from your current vantage point outside the gates. The dirt road that led you here ends at the 30-foot-wide wooden gate. This gate seems to be the only way in and out of the palisade.

Before you have a chance to announce your presence, the wooden gate is dragged open, the doors opening inward. A middle-aged human man appears behind the door and gives you a look over. “You must be the explorers. We got a letter from the mayor of Restov yesterday. Come on inside. My wife, Svetlana, is almost done preparing a meal.”

As you pass through the wooden gate, you enter into what must be the market yard (A1). The inside of the palisade appears to be in a state of repair. You see both old and new building materials holding together the various buildings inside the palisade.

In the market yard (A1) there’s an empty wooden wagon resting near what looks like stables (A3). Further in, there are two long wooden tables framed by long wooden benches that look like they can sit six at each table. A crackling fire pit separates the two.

In the market yard (A1), there are also several wanted posters nailed to the wooden walls. (Quests link) Each poster has an inked illustration relating to the description and the reward listed underneath.

“Guesthouse (A2) to your right. Stable (A3) to your left.” Oleg’s responses are short and straight to the point.

The Guesthouse (A2):
This two-story building houses four straw-stuffed mattresses on the bottom floor and another four in the loft. A wooden ladder provides access to the loft. There’s a wooden plaque painted with the prices on the outside of the guesthouse, reading “5 silver pieces a bed. Meal Included.”

The Stable (A3):
This long building smells like hay and animal. Five 10’ by 10’ stalls line the South side. They all appear empty except for one. There’s a brown and white horse housed in it. When you try to approach it, the horse backs away deeper into it’s stall. There’s a wooden plaque painted with the prices on the outside of the stable, reading “2 silver pieces a stall. Feed, watering, and brushing provided.”

A woman exits from the northwest building, carrying a basket of bread with a bottle of wine snuggly squeezed on outside the cloth. She sets it on one of the long tables and proceeds to pop the cork, pouring the red liquid into glasses. “Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here! I’m Svetlana, Oleg’s wife. Please, have a seat and I’ll serve you some stew.” She bustles over to the crackling firepit and ladles generous portions of a hearty stew into bowls for each of you. The bread inside the basket is covered in a checkered cloth. When you peel back the fabric you realize with delight that it’s still warm.

Oleg mutters something about needing to finish up the repairs to the guesthouse and Svetlana offers to give you a tour when you’ve finished eating.

Perception 14 (Svetlana):
Even though Svetlana mentioned she’s married to Oleg, you notice she’s not wearing a wedding ring.

➢ Any extra information on how you might progress your character is appreciated.
➢ Organize your information neatly in a post or profile so it’s easy for me to read.
➢ Play a class you know or feel comfortable learning. I don’t mind answering occasional questions but I will have a lot of bookkeeping to keep track of.

About Me:

Experience. This is my second time GMing on the Paizo forums. My first game was Ruins of Azlant (Books 1-3) The purpose of GMing half of the Ruins of Azlant AP was to 1) see if I could do it, 2) get a feeling of what it takes to GM PbP
Motivation. My motivation for this campaign is to experience the Kingmaker AP, make friends, and have fun with worldbuilding. Leshys likely to be included.
Preparation. I created slides and other materials to digest the story. As we progress, I will pull from these Master Copies to blank shared documents. The blank shared documents will be linked at the top.
Please note: these are not intended for sale or redistribution. These were made with love specifically for my table. When my table concludes, they will be deleted. (This goes for my Azlant game as well.)
Kinship. I’m a pretty direct person, but I never have malicious intent. If I hurt your feelings please tell me. I don’t want you to have a bad day due to a silly misunderstanding. I expect everyone to come to the table with a teamwork-oriented outlook.
Final Notes.
1. I appreciate people taking the time to put quotation marks and bold formatting around speech. I think it makes reading easier and more fluid.
2. Include links to other online discussions when asking me for a ruling. When in doubt, go for build options that have answers. I will already have a lot of bookkeeping.

General Campaign Q&A:

➢ We are following the Kingmaker Pathfinder 1e Adventure Path books 1-6 story.
➢ This Adventure Path starts at level 1 and ends with the party leveling from 16 to 17.
➢ Pathfinder Kingmaker is a sandbox campaign.
➢ You will level up at story checkpoints.
➢ I will try to adjust enemies to match APL.
➢ We will be using Pathfinder 1e Kingdom Building rules.
➢ We will be using Pathfinder 1e Mass Combat rules.
➢ You do not need to keep track of weight or rations unless you want to.
➢ Players may craft items or have a profession(s). See the Campaign Info tab for additional info.
No Multiclassing. (Not my cup of tea.)
No Prestige Classes. (I’m not familiar enough with it.)
No Third-Party Sources. (Try to use aonprd.)
No Elephant in the Room feat taxes. (Not my cup of tea.)
No Tech Themes or Guns. This is a “traditional” fantasy game.
No Summoners.
➢ Absolutely No Stealing for other player characters (unless agreed upon beforehand.)
➢ Absolutely No CCing other player characters (unless agreed upon beforehand.)
➢ Absolutely No Injuring other player characters (unless agreed upon beforehand.)
➢ I will be using Google Slides for combat maps so it’ll be easier if you have a computer.
➢ I don’t plan on intentionally missing any written combat encounters. (I think I’ve only missed 2 in my Azlant game.)
➢ CR will remain the same for 4-5 players. I will add +1 CR with 6 players.
➢ My goal is to post once or twice a day. This includes Discussion posts.
➢ Try to post once a day if you can. Discussion posts count.
➢ I require a minimum of two players in agreement to progress to another hex/room/place.
➢ Players will be responsible for managing loot.
➢ I love players who help out other players with rules questions, linking their sources.
➢ I like it when players hyperlink spells and such on their character sheet.
➢ I use prd/Nethy’s and Paizo’s books for rules clarification.
➢ I tend to avoid d20pfsrd because I have found discrepancies in the past.
➢ The party will be given a wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges at the start.
➢ Tweaks are absolutely fine until the submission deadline.
➢ I don’t want to kill your character, but monsters/certain NPCs do.
➢ I am only running one Kingmaker table with 5-6 players.
➢ I anticipate Kingmaker taking two to five years.
➢ If I make a mistake during combat, please tell me. Preferably with aonprd sources linked.
➢ If you read this far, you may have a third trait if you type owlbear on your recruitment post.
➢ When I post about a new area, I will post some, but not all, related skill rolls in spoilers. It’s the honor system. I don’t care if you look, but please don’t let it impact your character’s knowledge.
➢ I will try to pick players with varying levels of Pathfinder and PbP experience.
➢ If you are new to the forums, I recommend taking a look at Doomed Hero’s PbP Guide or some of Painlord’s guides. They articulate a lot of good points and I try to follow their tenants myself.
➢ I expect everyone to be respectful of one another. Sometimes tone is difficult to read in text, so over-communicate and use emojis when in doubt.

Bookkeeping I Will Provide To Players:

✓ I will roll Initiative and Perception checks for combat to help keep a steady pace.
✓ I will spoiler most Skill rolls when a new area is revealed to help keep a steady pace.
✓ I will be including links to images on posts for a more immersive feel.
✓ I created six visual “storybooks” (one for each book) in Google Slides that I will unveil for immersion as we progress.
✓ I have a hex map of each book (that uses hexes) I will update with each new quest area.
✓ I have a comprehensive hex map of the Stolen Lands that I will keep updated.
✓ I will keep a running list of NPCs and links to first encounter posts.
✓ I will keep a running "Master Copy" tab of loot on the Loot sheet.
✓ I will roll checks for the Kingdom Turn Sequence and maintain the Kingdom Sheet.
✓ I will provide occasional recaps with links to previous recaps.

My 7 Expectations Of Players:

① Players will try to post once a day unless on vacation/sick/hiatus. I understand life happens.
② Players will keep track of their current AC and HP. (In case I make a mistake.)
③ Players will keep track of personal gear, ammo, and spell durations. This includes bonuses to hit and damage rolls.
④ Players will move their icons on combat maps.
⑤ Players will be responsible for managing personal loot and communicating what loot they want.
⑥ Players will communicate how they want their kingdom to develop.
⑦ Players will communicate extended absences so we don’t worry about you!

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ If You Have Additional Time * ˚ ✦
I recommend looking at the Campaign Tab where I have outlined several “How we are handling” sections on post formatting, combat, party loot, crafting, professions, kingdom building, mass combat, and purchasing limits.

Thanks!

What are some classic, standalone scenarios that represent Pathfinder the best?

Background
I'm a librarian at a public library and we are lucky enough to have a 3D printer. I'm printing generic adventurer minis on the 3D printer for a free miniature painting program. With each miniature, patrons will receive a premade character sheet matching the mini they painted. The painting program will have at least 30 seats, so my goal is to print at least 50 minis and limit the class selection to 4 or 5 (so far: paladin, rogue, sorcerer) and races to 2 to 4 (so far: human, dwarf). I don't want to make the selection too complicated.

Conveniently, our Summer Learning theme is Community, so I've decided to follow up the free miniature painting with at least two one-session adventures where they can use their painted miniature to play. Although ambitious, I want to have six seats for each program session.

  • It doesn't matter if it is 1e or 2e.
  • It will be low-level characters.
  • Humor is a big plus for kids.
  • The youngest player might be 10 (maybe a little younger if with a parent.)
  • We'll be playing during the Summer.
  • Scenarios holding up alone/stand alone would be best.

Any additional ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

I am going to begin slowly prepping for my next Adventure Path. I am curious to know if players would be more interested in a Kingmaker or Skulls & Shackles PbP.

(If relevant to your choice) this will be a mostly classic Pathfinder 1E adventure path. E.g. No crafting (but professions ok/supported), no multiclassing, no third-party sources, no Elephant in the Room feat taxes, no tech themes or guns, and no summoners or pet-heavy builds (like Packmaster Hunter.)

Thanks. (And sorry in advance if I got hopes up by starting this thread. I'm trying to save myself the extra work.)

Hello! My table is currently fighting Elder Maw, a feeder in the depths! Elder Maw rolled a 19 on his first bite, which triggered his Deadly Bleeding special ability. I was wondering if some rules gurus could answer a few questions.

*Here* is a link to the monster statblock.

Deadly Bleeding text wrote:
Deadly Bleeding (Su) A feeder in the depth’s bite causes bleeding wounds that resist healing. The first bite that damages a creature deals 1d4 points of bleed damage, and each subsequent bite increases the amount of bleed by 1d4. Stopping the bleeding requires a successful DC 20 Heal check or the application of any magical healing. However, anyone attempting to cast a healing spell on a creature suffering from deadly bleeding must succeed at a DC 20 caster level check or the spell doesn’t affect the bleeding creature. The save DC is Constitution-based.

1. At what point in combat does the Deadly Bleeding damage occur?

2. Is the "subsequent bite" literally any bite that hits? Or is it implying any subsequent critical (19-20) bite?
The wording is a bit confusing. It says "The first bite that damages a creature deals 1d4 points of bleed damage, and each subsequent bite increases the amount of bleed by 1d4."

3. Also, if the damage happens at the start of the victim's next round, how do I calculate the save DC?
The last sentence of the Deadly Bleeding paragraph only says "The save DC is Constitution-based."

Thanks in advance! <3

Today is Fireday (Fri), 21 Gozran (April) 4717.

After six long weeks aboard the Peregrine, the party has gotten to know some of the settlers and perhaps practice their craft. Abeowin N'thera, a skilled summoner known to his friends as Bey, developed a positive reputation with the children aboard, including Medrinnah Harleau, by summoning a variety of animals for entertainment. Becky Beys, daughter of the colony’s scholar and historian, found (a little) common ground with Medrinnah Harleau, making Becky one of the few people moody Medrinnah likes. Crispin Xantrian, who was hired as the colony’s bookkeeper and clerical assistant, developed a budding friendship with Alba Divenvaar, the colony’s alchemist, and Anya Sandstrider, a hunter and naturalist. Both Bey and Crispen also had the opportunity to talk to Eskelda Teredein, a weaver, who was eager to talk plants but avoidant when the conversation turned to her pet raven. Brodigan Fallemar, a wizard with plans to open his own academy, worked his charm on Andvara Jeclair and possibly has a date in his near future with the wealthy Andoren entrepreneur. Brodigan’s assistant, JeVeAnne Brumbleburr, met two of the ship’s crew and was able to barter handmade socks for a bottle of whiskey on behalf of her instructor. Mauro Ocella, a treasure hunter, focused his concentration on the ancient coin until a headache forced him up for fresh sea air where he met Beys and Crispin. Asher, a similarly mysterious man as Ocella, spent time scanning the horizon, eagerly awaiting landfall.

Make any craft or profession checks done while aboard the Peregrine now.

Crafting and Professions during the voyage:
➤ I only want to spend one or two posts on crafting and professions while aboard the Peregrine and then we’re moving forward.
➤ There are six weeks of downtime total. For crafters, that means (40 hours in a week) x (6 weeks) = 240 hours total. Remember to spend the gold and roll first to see if you succeed or fail, then roleplay/summarize accordingly. Try to avoid exceeding 240 hours.
➤ Please remember your character can only craft with the materials and gold they brought along. Unless you are using materials with a value listed on aonprd, I’ll assume your character personally collected the wood, herbs, etc. prior to boarding.
➤ With 50 settlers and 16 sailors aboard, you can find someone willing to purchase your services. Items crafted can be kept or sold at half value. Profession checks follow rules as written.
➤ It probably doesn’t need to be said, but (logically) you can only pick one type of check per week. For example, if you make a Profession check on Week 1, you can’t also make Craft checks on Week 1.
➤ Here are some resources for Crafting: my post with example crafting rolls and the Crafting section on aonprd. There may be a kit (link) or tools (link) that can aid your rolls.
➤ Here are the rules for Professions (link)

This morning, the occupants aboard are filled with excitement as the crew of the Peregrine sights land to the west. A few hours later, the Peregrine sails into a natural bay with a sandy beach within rowing distance for the ship’s boats. As the crew begins to untie one of the smaller boats to lower it into the water, the sailors pass a spyglass among themselves and finally hand it back to the captain. Captain Jacob Markosi peers at the island for a moment before grunting and handing the spyglass to expedition leader Ramona Avandth. “You should see this,” he says quietly.

Ramona accepts the spyglass and peers toward the shore. When she lowers the scope, she is clearly distressed but trying to hide her worry. She approaches each of you and motions toward the far side of the deck, away from where most of the other colonists have congregated. “Can I have a word with you?”

There is where out-of-game discussion happens! Please remember to post using your character’s profile in Gameplay. Once your character posts in Gameplay, I will assume all tweaks are done and your character is finalized! :D

*This* link should allow you to edit the Loot Sheet.

*This* link should allow you to edit Combat Maps.

The Campaign Info tab lists the current player social bonuses. I awarded up to +2 social bonus as a reward for interacting with the NPCs during Recruitment. Some people have an additional +2 or -2 for a certain NPC if that NPC is part of their backstory. Don’t worry if your character hasn’t received one yet. Social bonuses can be earned by completing certain story objectives in the campaign.

Calling all settlers! I’m looking for five team-oriented settlers to help establish Talmandor’s Bounty.

About Ruins of Azlant:
This campaign is a Lost City of Atlantis meets the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island meets Pathfinder Kingmaker without the number crunch (Loyalty, Community, etc) of managing the town hall. You will not be ruling the settlement Talmandor’s Bounty. You are there as a settler. Like the other 49 brave settlers sailing on the Peregrine, you have been promised a parcel of land to do with as you wish in exchange for successfully settling the territory.
This is a story immersive half-campaign (books 1, 2, & 3, levels 1-10) that will focus on building relationships and establishing Talmandor’s Bounty. Your character should feel invested in wanting to make the settlement Talmandor’s Bounty a success. Combat encounters will closely follow the books with none added.

Build:
- This is Pathfinder First Edition.
- 20 point buy.
- 500 gp starting gold. (You’ve been diligently preparing and saving for this long journey. Or maybe you were fortunate to come into this sizable chunk of coin.)
- No item can be worth over a third (166gp) of your starting gold.
- No evil alignments.
- No third-party sources.
- No Hero Points.
- Hit Points are determined PFS style - max at first level, average +1 for all subsequent levels.
- Core Races preferred. No Aasimars. (For reference, most of the settlers are humans from Andoran. But you don’t have to be.)
- Use Unchained versions when applicable.
- 2 traits - at least one from the Ruins of Azlant Player Handbook
- 2 background skills
- Favored class bonus when applicable (an extra skill point or health point)
- A brief description of your character’s appearance.
- A description of your character’s motivations and two goals in life. The goals can be as big or small as you’d like.
- A reason why your character is sailing to Talmandor’s Bounty. Perhaps a business opportunity, passion for history or adventure, military recruitment, treasure hunting, family rebellion, escaping a crime, running away from gambling debts, starting a bed and breakfast, looking for cheap fertile farmland to start a vineyard, your betrothed is there waiting, you want a remote vacation home, etc.
- A weakness your character has. Does not need to be a drawback, but I will allow one if you roleplay it. The drawback must be approved by me.
- This is an immersive story setup where you have the opportunity to explore a profession if you wish. You’ll have downtime in this game and you’re promised land in exchange for helping settle Talmandor’s Bounty.
- Any extra information on how you plan on progressing your character build is appreciated.
- Please organize your character’s information neatly in a post or on a profile so it’s easy for me to read.

About me:

This is my first time attempting to GM on Paizo. I was active for a couple of years as a player and then I took a year-long break from the forums when Covid hit. I’ve been back posting for about a month now. Even during my hiatus from play-by-post, I continued to play tabletop Pathfinder. I am by no means a rule expert; I have a few people I like to go to with questions and I follow the Pathfinder rulings to the best of my ability. I prefer story over combat, but I won’t skip over any written combat encounters.

I really enjoyed reading through the first three books and prepping Google slides for combat. The books basically live on my coffee table because I love the art. The first three books read like a trilogy and there are some interesting villains and potential allies. My sincere hope is that everyone at the table will become invested in the Ruins of Azlant story and characters and enjoy solving the mystery as it unfolds.

Newbie GM. I’m new to GMing so I anticipate I’ll make a few mistakes. In an attempt to curb errors, I’ve prepared quite a bit for this half-campaign. But, to reiterate, mistakes will probably be made by me and other players. Expect a few bumps.

Vacation. Every year I take two weeks of vacation to stay with family. One week is in December and the other is in the Summer. This year, I’m taking a third week off starting July 4th, to go to the beach. My posting will probably be spotty during those three weeks, but I will give a reminder in the Discussion tab prior. I don’t have a laptop so I depend on my phone for posting when I’m on vacation.

Kinship. I can be a little wordy at times (and sometimes too direct.) But, I never have malicious intent. If I hurt your feelings please tell me. I don’t want you to have a bad day due to a silly misunderstanding. I expect everyone to come to the table with a teamwork-oriented outlook.

Final notes:
1. It’s not a pet peeve, but I appreciate people taking the time to put quotation marks and bold formatting around speech. I think it makes reading easier and more fluid.
2. Excluding character dialect and the occasional spelling and grammatical errors, I expect players to write coherently. I don’t want to have to exercise my ancient Azlanti explorer skills trying to decipher what you’ve written. There’s already enough mystery written into the story!

Build Suggestions (Warning: Minor Spoilers):

- Dedicating a skill point at each level into a Knowledge skill like Arcane, Dungeoneering, History, Nature, or Nobility could prove to be lucrative.
- The Craft Construct feat might be useful if you’re focused on helping the colony or your startup grow. Same with the Craft Clockwork profession. The Craft Construct feat and may pair nicely with Disable Device. I will allow the Craft skill Construct and Clockwork to be interchangeable.
- Disable Device could help the colony acquire certain ancient technological assets.
- While exploring uncharted islands, a skill like Survival may be helpful.
- Abilities and spells that allow your character to communicate with the dead or comprehend other languages or the Linguistics skill could prove helpful.
- Perhaps languages like Aboleth, Aklo, Auran, Aquan, Azlanti, Celestial, Elven, Giant, Goblin, and Undercommon will be spoken.
- There may be an abundant amount of sentient life to communicate and trade with, making social skills helpful.
- There may be an abundance of ancient ruins and ancient items, making certain knowledge skills helpful.
- If you use ammo, it may be advantageous to be able to craft that ammo.
- You can expect Diplomacy and Perception to be frequently used.

Q&A:

- You will level up at story checkpoints. Specifically, the books are broken up into three sections each.
- Books 1, 2, and 3 take you from level 1 to level 10. (The story ends with you leveling to 10.)
- I will be using Google Slides for all of the combat maps and handouts.
- There will be lots of visual aids in the Google Slides for story immersion.
- My goal is to post at least twice a day. To keep combat encounters moving, if you don’t post within 24 hours, I’ll DMPC your character.
- I want my players to try to post twice a day. People who post more often will be more included as the story unfolds.
- Ruins of Azlant is Pathfinder Society compatible, but it’s not my intention to run it as a sanctioned Pathfinder Society game. I don’t want there to be any barriers to entry.
- I plan on running the game close to the books in terms of loot and encounters. However, the party will be given a wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges at the beginning of the adventure.
- Party members will be responsible for recording loot as it’s acquired. We’ll use a shared Google Sheet.
- I will allow players to use Knowledge checks instead of Appraise checks when studying items.
- I’m looking for five players for an Adventure Path that has Challenge Rating designed for four. I’m not going to mess with the Challenge Rating of any of the encounters.
- To help foster community on the Paizo forums, one of the player slots is reserved for a new member (300 posts or less.)
- I would like to have a character capable of tanking, a character capable of casting healing spells, and a character with the Disable Device skill. Other than that, I’ll be looking for well-fleshed-out characters with completed character sheets. Tweaks are absolutely fine until the submission deadline.
- Don’t worry about who is playing what. Play what you want and I’ll work with the table to make character adjustments as necessary.
- When entering into combat, I will roll everyone’s Perception and Initiative to keep the game fluid. It will be up to players to roll all other skill checks.
- When I post about a new area, I will post the related skill rolls in spoilers. It’s the honor system. I don’t care if you look, but please don’t let it impact your character’s knowledge.
- I’m only committing to the first three books because it’s what I feel comfortable finishing.
- I am only running one table because I want to give my players the highest-quality experience possible.
- I will try to be as transparent as possible. If I get something wrong, please don’t be afraid to politely correct me constructively. I want to make sure I’m following the rules correctly.
- Book 1 (levels 1-4) runs similar to the first book of Kingmaker.
- Books 1 & 2 (levels 1-7) are sandbox books, meaning you have the freedom to choose what quests you do first and in what order.
- Book 3 (levels 7-9) is more akin to a dungeon crawl.
- You don’t need to play an aquatic race to be successful. There are always diplomatic and monetary ways around not being aquatic.
- I anticipate going through these first three books will take a little over a year. I hope to keep the game at a steady pace.
- I expect everyone to be respectful of one another. Sometimes tone is difficult to read in text, so over-communicate when in doubt.

Let Light Roleplaying Begin
To help flesh out and get feel for your character, please feel free to roleplay and make connections with other players. I want to be clear: Roleplaying is optional because it comes with emotional risk. Roleplaying and then not being selected can be doubly disappointing. For those who choose not to roleplay - don’t worry! I will look at your posts in other games to understand your playstyle.

Congratulations! If you are here, you are currently on the Peregrine headed for Talmandor’s Bounty! You, 49 other settlers, and a ship crew of 16 have been at sea for about a week. Everyone seems to be in high spirits and optimistic about the journey. Even the weather and wind conditions are ideal for the voyage. 13 settlers on the top deck seem particularly interesting (see slides 2-15 for descriptions.) Besides idle gossip about the other settlers, other interesting topics of personal introspection or public conversation might be the writings of brave adventurer Durvin Gest in the Pathfinder Chronicles Volume 1 (slides 17-19), the comical recountings of freelance explorer Griva Nelwhick (slides 20-21), your scholarly reading material of the ancient Azlanti civilization (slides 22-24), your religious studies surrounding the old gods (slides 25-32), your Craft (Clockwork) or Disabling Device research (slides 33-40), or any other thoughts that might cross your character’s mind.

Recruitment will be open for a guaranteed two weeks. I want applicants to have plenty of time to ruminate on their characters. Your submission date does not affect character selection, so you don’t need to rush to get something submitted as long as it’s in by the deadline. Please have your character finalized by the end of the day on Thursday, March 4th. The party will be announced the following day on Friday, March 5th. If I don’t receive enough submissions within two weeks, I’ll extend the deadline.

I know it’s a lot to take in and think about. If you have additional questions, you can post them below or private message me. Thanks for your interest in being my guinea pig table. It’ll be fun :)

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a common issue or not, but I'm missing one of my five games under "My Campaigns" tab. I am tagged under the "Gameplay" tab, yet it still does not appear under "My Campaigns" like my other forum games.

This is the one I'm missing. I am missing EVERYTHING from that game - "Gameplay," "Recruitment," and "Discussion" tab notifications under "My Campaigns."

If you want to see a screenshot, please let me know and I'll try to upload one. The missing game is not "Hidden." The missing game is not visible at all. :(

Thank you for your help.

Pathfinder question:

I was looking in the Core Rulebook, Ultimate Equipment, and Hero's Handbook but I couldn't find the weight specifications for characters. Does anyone know which pages it's on? (Alternately, a messageboard post explaining weight in Pathfinder.)

I don't want my medium-sized character to be encumbered by all the stuff she's carrying.

Thanks in advance!

I'm new to the Paizo community and I'm unfamiliar with all of the forum gaming etiquette.

If someone writes a spoiler for the DM, telling the DM they are leaving the forum, are you supposed to ignore it if you aren't the DM? I commented on it and the owner of the spoiler told me they felt flattered I took the time to read it. I feel as if they player should have private messaged the DM if they wanted to keep it a secret.

So what is the general ruling for Pathfinder forum games? Ignore Spoilers if they don't apply to you? Read the Spoilers but keep your mouth shut? Let it be a free-for-all? (And yes, I understand the purpose of a spoiler for a language your player doesn't know or extra information your player may not be privy to. I'm mainly asking about people leaving games or feeling frustrated and leaving a spoiler.)

Any other forum gaming etiquette I should know about? Thanks in advance!

First off, I'm new so I don't know if this is the correct place to be posting my question. (Is Pathfinder Society considered 3.5?)
________

I'm trying to finish my first Pathfinder Society character Quinn Crowe but I'm confused about Domains.

So on d20pfsrd the chart says level 1 Clerics get 1+1 1st level spells.

Is that one spell from each of the Domains? Or is it one of the spells from one of the domains and another random 1st-Level spell of my choice like Doom or Inflict Light Wounds?

I picked Darkness Domain and Death Domain so does that mean that my 1st-Level spells HAVE TO BE Cause Fear and Obscuring Mist? (I believe the Pathfinder Core Rulebook 5e said Clerics get 2 Domains.)

OR does it mean that I get Cause Fear and Obscuring Mist in addition to a 1st-Level spell of my choice as long as it matches with my alignment? (So 3 1st-Level spells total at level 1.)

I'm probably overthinking something that was written to be simple.
