I am going to begin slowly prepping for my next Adventure Path. I am curious to know if players would be more interested in a Kingmaker or Skulls & Shackles PbP.
(If relevant to your choice) this will be a mostly classic Pathfinder 1E adventure path. E.g. No crafting (but professions ok/supported), no multiclassing, no third-party sources, no Elephant in the Room feat taxes, no tech themes or guns, and no summoners or pet-heavy builds (like Packmaster Hunter.)
Thanks. (And sorry in advance if I got hopes up by starting this thread. I'm trying to save myself the extra work.)

I would happily apply to play either, so choose whichever you fancy.
That said, if you want to avoid complications (e.g. Item Crafting), I'm not sure that I would suggest either. Both have large non-core systems (plunder and so forth in S&S, kingdom building in Kingmaker) and significant down time as written. You might be better off some of the more linear and event driven AP's (Council of Thieves, Curse of the Crimson Throne, Ironfang Invasion, Tyrant's Grasp would be good candidates).

I'm not that knowledgeable about neither of these two AP but as far as I can tell...
Kingmaker is easily one of the favorite APs out there but it's a little huh... Weird, at first it's runs smoothly but the last book (or were the last two? Can't remember) is a little awkward but by that point you already have the motivation of saving/protecting your kingdom.
I however see a problem or annoyance, Kingmaker if I remember correctly has a lot of free time so it's perfect for crafting which you won't be allowing.
Also while I'm neither a fan of pet builds I must say that kingmaker is the best AP for mounted builds.
Skulls and shackles is more chaotic and I honestly prefer the pirate flavor over the wilderness but that's just me X.x
But even then I'd prefer kingmaker.

For anyone keeping score: Kingmaker 10, Skull and Shackles 6
GM Ventline, thank you for being straight forward on your preferences. A quick question for clarification. You said no 'pet-heavy' builds (Like Packmaster Hunter) May I assume that includes builds that have multiple animals or ones that have exotic unrealistic creatures?
So, a paladin that selects a horse at fourth level, a ranger with an animal companion, a halfling Cavalier mounted on a dog might be considered. Whereas a cavalier mounted on a griffin may not?
Also, any directions on races, starting ability scores or background traits?

I don't like multiple pets because it gets chaotic on the battlefield with already having six players. I also assume people will want to use summon nature's ally on top of having a companion. Any pet is fine - dino, fantastical, etc.
If a hunter has his animal companion and then a non-combat pet(s), that would be fine. Perhaps as story fluff your character has a couple of mousers.
No aasimars, 20 point buy, two background skills. Everything will be detailed in a new thread when my current table is nearly finished.
I'm rethinking crafting due to input.
