I’ve had something unexpected come up; I’m going to be offline for a while entirely not sure how long. I’ll try to get back when I can.

Ah, ok- so I’m currently asleep- got it, I’ll roll another here
Just clarifying- I failed the Wis roll so I’m under some kind of charm here, right? Siren style?
"Lucky those of you who still have homes. Though a caravan moves, the people of it make it home. Alas. . ."
"This seems fortuitous then to find each other. Come and rest and we will ponder this."
”say now! Creature- put the child down, in the name of all the gods!” Uthman draws his bow in case the bird creature doesn’t yield.
"Yes, excellent work Zairiah!"
"Yes, it is frustrating. . . but surely to sleep above the dead would be more so."
Uthman clutches his blades, trying to focus his sharp elvish eyes on the darkness.
Uthman nods, "Back to the ship then."
"It will be good to return to civilization of some kind- this island has been full of strange creatures."
"Thank you, kindly spirit. May you too dwell in the light of the Loregiver." Uthman says, certain that even if they are being tricked until they know for sure being proper and polite remains the best course.
"Truly this would be a magnificent gift to bring us great honor in the eyes of the Sultan then, if we had any item appropriate to trade for it. Alas, I do not- I have only 10 gold and a smattering of silver."
Uthman looks at the bard who told them about this place, "Well, we came at your request, what say you? I have no magic items of my own, nor do I need healing of this kind."
"Who is that speaking! Show yourself! Let us discuss this like civilized beings!"
"Should it look any different than just water? Is this the right of it then? I do not think I should like to live forever, thank the Lore Giver. I have already outlived all my family. . ."
"Ah, yes, forgive this one his ignorance. So we continue following the river upstream then? The water was good to drink then Zairiah?"
No worries GM! Hope you are well.
Everything ok GM? Sorry to poke, but I'm just having a hard time staying engaged in this campaign currently due to the pace.
"Does the map say anything else about what we are supposed to find here?" he turns his eyes on the area trying to search as well.
"Yes, yes. . . I'm back now. Where were we going then?"
Uthman watches horrified from within the crystal.
If Uthman gets us all killed with his forthright naivete I apologize.
Uthman steps out of the jungle line, speaking up, "Many excuses, good sir genie! I humbly beg your aid- these Yakmen have waylaid travelers we met before, I beseech you to allow my companions and I to bring them to justice."
Uthman whispers to his companions, "Is this creature dangerous?"
Happy thanksgiving everyone!
Uthman nods, "My condolences for your companion, and may you travel in safety from here on, my friends." Turning to the others, "Now, my esteemed colleagues, allow us to follow the trail of these yak-men and see what we can find, no?"
"Do you know where they came from? We could, perhaps, track this particular group back and demand justice for your slain companion?"
"Yakmen! Oh this is terrible to hear indeed. I have not encountered these creatures before. . . they are dangerous and wicked, then?" "Might my other companions approach?" Uthman motions to the others in the woods to come out, "What is to be done about these maurauders I wonder. . ."
Uthman stands up, and hands raised steps out into the clearing addressing their interlocutors. "Pardon, friends! I bring greetings in the name of the Loregiver! My companions and I were traveling nearby and heard you voices. Is there any aid we can offer to fellow travelers like ourselves?"
"Perhaps we should offer these kind travelers our assistance?" Uthman follows Zairiah and whispers to the others. "Whatever killed a barber in his sleep might be dangerous to us as well, no?"
Uthman will also take a middle watch- between Zairiah and Nura.
I have drill this weekend, will be in the field/on the range- I should still be able to post but will be spotty/uneven on timing.
Uthman takes aim with his longbow.
Uthman draws his bow and attempts to shoot the serpent as well.
