Is there something I'm not aware of?

...

More importantly, will Grimmy be starting up DoD again soon?

And if he is, is there a recruitment for it?

And if there was, did I miss it/not make the cut?

I hope I made it in, I had high hopes for my reserved, honorable, LG barbarian.

Talric finally dots, then promptly collapses due to take nine points of Con damage :P

@Viskous: I'm actually taking a long hiatus from Tales of Agartha: The Avalon Chronicles right now. If we are to put our best faces on, I'd suggest looking at my human barbarian, Talric of the Northlands, and my super-silly slightly insane able-to-break-the-fourth-wall catgirl character, Eoko Sandwalker. She was designed for a super-silly campaign called Adventuring Lime, in which the style is extremely similar to the show.

But, if you want it to be serious, check out Talric. He's extremely solemn and noble, and he tries the shepherd the entirely neutral party.

Talric was struck by the agonizing pain for the first few seconds of the alien slime's attack, then he fumbles for his earthbreaker and desperately scrapes off the slime.

At which point he falls down, breathing hard. "Can..." *pant* "you heal me..." *pant* "like Ghaelja, Mikka?" It is quite obvious that the big man is in far worse shape than Ghaelja, and your spell would barely start to mend the damage done to him.

I'm roleplaying rage effectively. Right now, Talric's enhanced senses are focused entirely on the battle. If Janral drops, then he will end rage and tend to Ghaelja.

Talric runs after the captain, catching up. His earthbreaker thunders through the air in a mighty overhand swing...

DM Grimmy wrote:

Round 1 Captain Janral

The captain makes a break for it, coming within reach of Talric as he passes.

Tal gets AoO.

Unless Tal can bring him down:

Janral dashes for the western stairwell, arm outstretched towards a torch burning in a sconce.

Talric AoO

Talric swings mightily at the captain as he comes by, hoping to bring him down.

Nonlethal Raging Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Unfortunately, he overswings, and the captain ducks under the blow.

Round Two

Talric rushes at the captain, seeming to move impossibly fast in his armor.

Yay, enhanced movement! Speed=30 feet. Double moving to get to Janral.

WHEN THE BANDITS BOLT

Talric curses in the language of his tribe and runs to catch up. He goes into his trance again, and attacks the lieutenant, hoping to knock him unconscious to question him.

Talric shrugs. "Judging from what the druidess was saying, I think they already know about the blight-although they don't want to divulge that information with us. They probably know as much as the druidess does, and seeing that she is traveling with us, we can probably ask her as we continue through this place."

DM Grimmy wrote:

Captain Janral is foaming at the mouth but his Lieutenant holds him back and speaks.

"You've wiped out our forces. It will take us months to rebuild, maybe over a year. Now you want to rest? We don't want anymore trouble. Just move past and leave us be. I already told the druid here, we don't know anything about the 9 eyes of Sha-Yen-Maar and this blight they are supposedly causing. I just know my men were getting sicker every day. If you hadn't killed them the sickness would have soon enough."

Talric bows his head. "Indeed. I know that such losses can be devastating, especially in adverse conditions. Hopefully, I can find a way to cure this blight. It may spread beyond this wilderness and into settlements, and we need to stop it before that happens."

Talric nods, blood bleeding profusely all across his body. "Yes, we would. I do not relish the taking of life. These men will go on to Valhalla, although their time on this earth was cut short." My wounds need healing, and I do not wish to go up against whatever monsters dwell here while at half strength."

At the bandits' surrender, Talric falls to his feet, breathing heavily. The massive Northlander has blood running all down his armor, and his two large gashes on his face: one on his cheek, one above his eye, drowning part of his vision in a river of red. Painfully, Talric takes one of the potions he had been issued and drained it, it's contents pouring down his throat.

Grimmy, what's the CL of the potion? I'm assuming three.

Healing: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8

Slowly, and with a groan, Talric gets up as his wounds close. He nods toward the bandits. "I accept your surrender. You fought valiantly, and did your ancestors proud." He stumbles back into the central chamber and leans against the wall, groaning. "That was hard fought, my friends. Our ancestors smile upon us this day." He then takes out a (thankfully) unsoiled leather book and a chunk of graphite, and begins writing in it.

ROUND THREE

As Talric deflects the blows with his hammer, dodges the points of weapons, a d chuckles in amusement as the brigands futilely whack against his armor, Talric sees that they are no major threat. Ending his trance, Talric temporarily droops as the strenuous muscle control provided by the stance fatigues him, but then continues pushes the assault. He attempts a loud roar to scare the bandits.

Intimidate: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Which sounds quite silly.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9

Ending Fighting Defensively, targeting Blue.

Sweet. Next round, I'll step in, attack one (probably smashing him too), then, while the bandits are fumbling around for their swords, I'll smash annuder one. Is it just me, or does Tal seem kind of optimized? While raging, he can get a +9-11 to hit, and a +9-10 for damage..

Also, some clarafication on Tal's rage: instead of drawing upon pure, wild fury for his attacks, Talric enters a sort of "martial trance"-a sort of meditative trance that greatly increases his offensive ability, but at the cost of mental functions. Fitting for a LG barbarian who's had to rely on discipline and intelligence in the wild rather than just drinking and fighting and raiding, dontcha think?

ROUND TWO

Talric seems to tense, leaning into a more naturally athletic stance. His muscles seem to be going for full potential, and the way he suddenly springs forward denotes the Northlander utilizing his economy of movement to his full advantage. However, focusing entirely on the offense, there are some holes in Talric's defense.

After looking at his chosen direction, Talric turns to Christoff. "The door seems to be barred. Me and Grokar can probably break it down, though. And if somebody is blocking a door, that generally means that there's something they want protected inside. If the Die is indeed a powerful artifact, it's probably a safe bet that we can get to it through that door."

Hearing the footsteps, Talric turns toward his comrades. "It sounds like people are trying to get into formation behind the door. I suggest we interrupt them before they descend on us." Turning to the door, Talric starts smashing it with his hammer.

Everybody can now tell that Talric is on full alert mode after Pharnox said that. With a smooth, practiced motion, the Northlander draws his massive hammer. "If somebody is watching us, I suggest that we get moving before whoever's watching us gets a chance to set up an ambush."

Taking out his waterskin, Talric spins it on the ground.

At the mention of a blight, Talric startles. As Ghaelja looks at his face, she can see unpleasant memories flash across his face. "Another plague struck my homeland about sixteen seasons prior. It killed the moose and bears, and starved my people. We perservered, although we lost many elders, women, and children that day. I am sure that here, people have... What do you call them? 'Farms?' That keep their food safe. But if the blight spread, it would be disastorous. You are welcome to come with us, Ghae, and I will help you in any way I can to help stop the spread of this blight."
