Talienda looks over the jewelry, and it's not hard to see that she isn't enthused by the canary diamond necklace. Not her style, nor her color.
"I'll take the two diamond necklaces, the earrings, and the broach," she says after a moment's deliberation. "I'd also like any boxes that you have to safely transport them as well."
That should be 610 gp, by my math. Talienda's paying Alina 500 gp for her salary and for hazard pay since she's faced some harrowing situations. That should leave her with ~1230 gp.
Talienda looks over the dresses for a moment before asking the shopkeeper if he also sells the jewelry to go with the dresses.
To be honest, she's probably going to buy all three for her and Alina. Just let me know how much for both the outfits and jewelry to go with them. Sorry for being so slow with posting.
Did we ever get an official split of the loot we got from breaking up the ring in Sandpoint? I know there was 2333 gp, 3 sp, 3 cp in just the cash from each of us, but I don't remember what all we sold, if anything.

Talienda and Alina both bristle at the man's dismissiveness of Wayilant, but they manage to school their expressions into ones of simple politeness. Talienda steps up to take a closer look at the clothing, trying to get a sense of it's actual value and if she could maybe deflate this man's ego a bit.
"Yes, we recently arrived in town and we wanted to purchase some clothing to help us, ah, not be so memorable," Talienda says. "I'm afraid that we're not familiar with the local fashion, so any help there would be appreciated."
She glances over at Alina and wonders if she should tease her a little by asking where they should look for something to wear under the clothes that would excite any man who saw it, but decides that she should probably focus less on that than on the problem at hand.
"Also, we have a few companions that will need new outfits as well. Do you need them here," she asks.
Talienda, sensing that something is going on between Alina and Wayilant decides to take Julie's hand and lead her away from the whispering adults before the awkward questions start.
"Come on, Julie. Big sis Tali and Echo are going to help you pick out some new clothes," she tells the young girl as Echo trots alongside the two of them.
"Master Wayilant, wait a moment," Talienda says as she chases after the cleric with Alina in tow. "Perhaps we should go with you."
Alina nods, still looking a little unwell, but much better than she had been on the airship now that she's on firm ground.
"I think it might be better if I help Julie pick out her clothing," Alina says. "Besides, with three respectable young ladies accompanying you, you're much less likely to be thrown out on your ear."
Alina walks on the other side of Julie while Talienda follows behind. The young noblewoman looks back to see if anyone else will follow them into the clothing shop.
After the landing, Talienda and Alina get ready and board the dinghy before having someone lower their things. Talienda looks a little green, but Alina looks like death after the descent and landing.
"Please make everything stop spinning," the young handmaiden begs as the small boat bobs in the water.
"Sorry Alina, it's almost over. I promise," Talienda says as she rubs her friend's back.
While Talienda enjoys the trip, and teaching Wayilant about ribbons and how to style a girl's hair, Alina discovers too late that she not only has a fear of heights, but that the alien way the ship sways makes her stomach lurch in ways sailing on the sea simply didn't. She barely eats over the next few days, having trouble keeping things down.
Wayilant the first night:
Alina smiles weakly at your joke, and while she returns your kiss, it's clear she's not feeling well at all.
When the alarms wake everyone on the third morning, Alina is already up, heaving over a bucket she'd asked for after barely managing to find one the first night she was on the ship. Talienda rushes out of her room as she pulls a robe on over her nightshirt to find out what's going on.
Talienda carries what she can, which isn't much, and is winded by the time they make it aboard the Infernal Comet. She's fascinated by how this seems to be working, but she has to admit, now that they are starting to fly, she shares more than a little of Wayilant's worries.
Alina wakes up and gets Talienda up as well with just enough time to get ready and get to Fizzledeck's ship before dawn. Realizing that the others might not be aware of their departure time, she goes around knocking on doors and rousing everyone awake.
Talienda and Echo are of one mind about this. It is far too early to get up. Still, with Alina's help, Talienda is ready to go with time to spare.
"Oh no. I didn't have any canvases prepped," the young noblewoman mutters as she realizes that she's missing something rather important for the favor she wants to do for Lady Heidmarch.
Honestly feeling exhausted after the past week or so, Talienda is more than grateful about having a private room. By the time the others get back, they find she's already fast asleep.
Funnily enough, the way Talienda got her bardic levels is from a book she tried to ID. I hope you'll ask her in character. It should be a fun and funny scene.
"I was hoping she wouldn't follow me from Absolom," Talienda admits as she takes the signet ring back. "Thank you, milady. It's a relief to have this off my chest."
Talienda is a bit distracted that evening, not really interacting with anyone before heading to bed early.
"He was killed several months ago, and he was also my father. I learned a week after his death that he was a cruel, vicious man, a criminal that preyed on the weak and built his fortune and his empire on the misery of others. I was sheltered from that, from the whole world. He would barely allow me to leave the house and never allowed me outside of the Petals District in Absolom, not without him and some guards. But that I had nothing to do with his criminal enterprises means nothing to his enemies. They seek the wealth he had amassed and I am in the way. I had thought that by running here, to Magnimar, I could live freely and that I would be safe. I learned in Sandpoint, after the whole ordeal with Jubrayl's men and the book they wanted me to identify, I learned that they were after me because of an assassin named Hecka Heckles had put a bounty on my capture."
She hands the signet ring over to Lady Heidmarch so she could look at it.
"I'm sorry, Lady Heidmarch. I fear that I have put you and your organization in danger just by being here."
"Thank you, Lady Heidmarch. I think I speak for all of us when I say we appreciate both the hospitality and the provisions," Talienda says while hoping her genuine gratitude has come through.
"If you have the time, could I trouble for a private audience? There is something that came up while we were in Sandpoint that I think you should know about," she adds after a moment in a lower voice to hopefully keep eavesdroppers from overhearing.
It is perhaps for the best that Tali doesn't understand a lick of Skald.
"I'm sure it will be," Talienda says, silently hoping that it won't turn out like the trip to secure the ship the poor girls were on had. "If you'd like I can see if I can paint some of the views I see up there. It wouldn't be like being there yourself, but I think they would make for something unique."
"Also, there is something that I should discuss with you, privately if at all possible," Talienda says.
Just to keep things moving, Talienda would relay what she knows about what was happening in Sandpoint including how Gravi saved Govrina and raiding the sea cave hideout. If Lady Heidmarch agrees to talk to her privately, Tali will tell her about how she's being hunted by enemies of her father and how she was chased out of Absolom as well as Hecka Heckles knowing she's in the area.
Apologies. I know I haven't posted in a bit, but I have been keeping up with the thread. Tali would have spent most of the trip trying to calm her nerves and sleeping in the cabin. Alina would have helped keep an eye on Julie and spent most of her time with Wayilant.
The young noblewoman squirms under Wayilant's gaze.
"I-I just..." she stammers as her face reddens in embarrassment. "I'm a little nervous about sailing is all," she manages to get out after a few more false starts.
Talienda is indeed mortified by her behavior the previous evening when she wakes up and swears that she'll never be drunk in public again. After cleaning up and thoroughly scrubbing her teeth and tongue, she meets the others downstairs and joins them in heading to the Garrison. She keeps quiet for the most part, though she seems to get a lot more agitated around Wayilant now, practically squirming whenever she feels his eyes on her, and she can't meet Alina's eyes.

Talienda and Alina both thank Wayilant for their drinks. While the young noblewoman notes the caution her handmaiden treats the drink with, it appears as she's not cautious enough herself. About halfway through her glass, she's clearly drunk. She keeps giggling at random things when she's not congratulating and teasing both Wayilant and Alina, though that didn't stop her from laying down the law.
"N-now *hic* sheeeee here Mashtah W-*hic*-Wayilan'. Alin--Alina'sh very shpecial t'me. I *hic* I know how yoush Cayden fellash oper--oper-- act shome-uh-de-time. Shooooo, yoush beddah marry my Alina 'fore you two getsh up to any funny beznish."
Hey, sorry for going radio silent this weekend. I've been dealing with a recruitment (trying to narrow down 32 submissions to 6 and there are a lot of really, really good ones in there) and a bout of depression-induced apathy. I'll try posting tomorrow.
Okay, so that's 3000 for the ship, 5000 for the advance, ~6000 in coinage we recovered. That's ~14000 in just plain cash, which works out to ~2800 for each of us if we split things evenly.
As for the gear. I think we could sell some of mundane stuff here, but I think it'd be better to sell the magic stuff in a bigger town or city.
Talienda grins as she watches Alina admit at least some of her feelings for Wayilant.
"Well, Master Wayilant, it seems that Alina has given you something rather precious. Please be careful with it," she cautions through a smug smile.
Turning to the others, she asks them, "We are selling the ship to Sandpoint, aren't we? I don't think it'll do us any good if we're heading inland to Lake Encarthan."
"I think you're more at risk than she is, Master Wayilant," Talienda observes. "You've been carrying it. If it hasn't affected you nor Master Darius, I think Miss Julie should be fine. Still, it is a troublesome item. I think we should see if there's a way to secure it or destroy it. Perhaps Lady Heidmarch would know of someone that could do that. You should ask her when you and Miss Bryndis give your reports."
I think we are selling the ship. We aren't going to have a need for it and at least three of us have voted that way.
Did the Sheriff give us a timeline on how long it'd take to get Fizzledeck out here if he can? If we have a few days, it might be worth it to go to Magnimar after all. We can sell some of the more expensive stuff and hand over the whistle to Lady Heidmarch since she should have contacts that can take care of it even if she can't do it herself.
Talienda chuckles when she sees Govrina's wings flapping. She isn't sure why, but she finds it adorable.
"Well, it seems we are mostly of one mind. I would love to see this airship as well," she says. "If Master Fizzledeck is unavailable, we shall have to make certain we come back to see him and his wondrous sounding contraption."
"It seems that is where this trail follows. If we are heading to Ustalav, how are we to get there? If overland, then I think we should sell the ship. Maybe you could make use of it, Sheriff Hemlock," she asks.
