Am I correct in assuming that a Kineticist without an actual reach weapon in his hands, will not be considered threatening unless he's adjacent to the opponent, even with Weapon infusion?

Grand Lodge

Can Emblazon Armament be etched into a natural weapon like a horn or a hoof?

Grand Lodge

Am I correct in assuming that Terrakineticists do not gain additional skills from the element they're currently using?
For example, a "normal" air kineticist will add Fly and K:Nature to their list of class skills.

Grand Lodge

Are there any items, magical or mundane, that counteract the Dazzled condition?
I want to play a Caligni, but they suffer in direct sunlight. I'll still play it, but, if there are some, I figure the Caligni community would know.

Grand Lodge

I'm making a 3rd level Thaumaturge with a Strength of -1.
I like the Multipistol because the melee version is finesse.
How many potency runes do I need for it to work for both options?

Grand Lodge

Kilted Breastplate
Flexible
Source War of Immortals pg. 146
Price 3 gp; AC Bonus +2; Dex Cap +3; Check Penalty -1; Speed Penalty —
Strength +1; Bulk 1; Category Light; Group Plate
This armor consists of a chest plate, typically made out of bronze or other water-resistant alloys, strapped to the body with a leather harness and featuring a skirt of leather pleats reinforced with metal studs to protect the upper legs.
Traits
Flexible:
The armor is pliable and doesn’t hinder most actions. You don’t apply its check penalty to Acrobatics or Athletics checks.

Is there a better armor for a character with proficiency in light and medium armor with +3 dex and +0 str?

The direct link to the Pathfinder forums isn't working.
You can get to the forums by just clicking "Community",
But the "Community>Forum>Pathfinder>-click on Pathfinder>" link takes you to the

"Not Found - We were unable to find what you're looking for." Page. FYI

I was perusing the Tatoo section of AoN and came upon "Eye Slash", which says:
"Small scars or marks around your eye improve your distant vision. These scars are especially common among orc scouts, who favor scars shaped like eagle talons. You can see four times farther than normal. If you have darkvision, you can see blood in color. Higher-level versions of an eye slash are larger and more elaborate scars or marks, radiating out around the eye."

How far can a normal human or your average elf see otherwise?

Grand Lodge

Your party comes face to face with a group of potentially hostile humanoids.
You're 3rd level, and have Sleep prepared.
To avoid wasting your spell, can you use Sense Motive to determine A) whether any of the opponents are powerful enough (5th level or higher) to be immune, and/or B) the most optimal spot to place it?
Are there any rules covering this scenario, or is this a GM judgement call?

Grand Lodge

Does the Android Nanite Surge Ancestry feat "Offensive Subroutine" work with spells that require an attack roll?

Grand Lodge

Can a spell caster who casts Haste on themself benefit from the extra action in the same round its cast?

Grand Lodge

I just signed into my Organized play account to review my characters to see which has already played a repeatable, and it looks like all the scenarios I've played since February have awarded 5 AcP instead of four. Did I miss a memo? was this a reporting error? I'm just a bit confused...but not critfail confused.

Are there any spells that affect an enemies ability to use reactions, that don't carry the Mental trait.
In other words, is it possible to affect an opponent that is immune to Mental effects.in such a way as to prevent reactions?

Grand Lodge

Any rules regarding elixers and mutagens interacting with each other?
For instance, Blood Booster[This elixir bolsters your body's natural defenses and ability to resist maladies that travel through or affect blood. For 10 minutes you receive the listed resistance to persistent bleed and persistent poison damage, and you lower the DC for any flat checks to end persistent bleed or persistent poison damage as if you received particularly appropriate aid.} counteracting The Sanguine Mutagens drawbacks[Whenever you take piercing or slashing damage, you take 1d6 persistent bleed damage].

Grand Lodge

This came up in a Starfinder Playtest, but it's relevant for Pathfinder as well.
If a character gets a +2 Status Bonus to Athletics checks, can they also benefit from a +5' Status bonus to speed?

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I just played my first Starfinder 2 Playtest adventure: “Shards of the Glass Planet”.
I ran my Android Witchwarper and have a few thoughts.
He was very useful in the skill challenges and exploration.
I need to remember that his Quantum Field has a 120’ range.
The spells I chose for him were mostly from the playtest doc,
And were all 30’ range, so for the long range combats he was less than effective
Because I forgot the QF has 120’ range! @%*!*%
I haven’t decided if I should pick up a longer range weapon,
Or just use Needle Darts, which has 60’ range.
As a Precog, his QF effect was +/-5’ movement, of which the party took good advantage.
We had two Mystics in the party, one of which was a monster healer and buffer!
My next game will be Lvl 5 scenario “It Came From the Vast!”
Hopefully I’ll be better prepared.

Can a character wear a Flight Suit over Second Skin?

Grand Lodge

What are the retraining rules in PFS2?
How many ACP to retrain a feat.
I have a 5th level Water/Wood Kineticist, and I want to retrain my 4th level class feat.

Grand Lodge

Is there a way to make a kinetic blast non-lethal?

Grand Lodge

In the "Rewards purchasable with Achievement Points - PFS(2ed)" section of Boons in Organized play, Poppets are no longer listed. Are they now free, ie no longer requiring ACP. or was this an oversite? Last time I saw them listed they cost 160ACP.

Grand Lodge

My first PFS character, a Goblin Bard, Just made 11th level.
Charisma +5
He has Master prof. in Perform.[+17 Proficiency]
He has Virtuosic Performance in Oratory [+2 circumstance]
He has a Maestro's Instrument (Moderate) {+2 item]
He can cast the Musical Accompaniment cantrip [+1 Status}
Total of +27 on performance checks using Oratory.
Make an Impression:+27. Demoralize:+27 Goblin Song: +25

Are there any other skills that consistently benefit this much at this level from Skill feats, Magic items and spells?

Grand Lodge

If you have a Spellheart affixed to a weapon, do you need to be holding or wielding the weapon to activate the cantrip?
For example, if you have the Warding Statuette affixed to your back up weapon, could you use it to cast the Shield cantrip while it's in its scabbard?

Edit: Another question: Can you benefit from a Spellheart affixed to a thrower's Bandolier?

Grand Lodge

"Weapon: The weapon has the disrupting rune while the feather is affixed."

Does this allow for a weapon that already has 2 property runes to benefit from a 3rd (the spellheart)?

Grand Lodge

So, I'm building a character in Pathbuilder, a fighter with the (FA) Vigilante Archetype.
I've decided on my feats using AoN.
I get to eighth level with intent to pick "Hidden Magic", but it's not listed as an option. It doesn't seem to exist on PB.
It's a fourth level feat. It's in the APG.
Has anybody else had this problem with any expected options?
I mean, it's not a huge deal. When I print out the character sheet, I'll just write it in to that spot. But it is kind of annoying.

Grand Lodge

In two or three weeks I'll be playing in a game that starts at 16th level.
Until now, all of my characters have started at 1st, so they proceeded normally,
But starting at such a high level is a bit overwhelming.
If you have had such an experience, what was your process?
Did you build it one level at a time, or just start filling in the character sheet from 16 at the get go?
Oh yeah, and we also have Free Archetypes.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Grand Lodge

I have had great success with Needle Darts.
I have a Cold Iron dagger, and a Silver Dagger.
But, for some reason Adamantine confuses me a little, mostly because it is much more expensive.
I guess what I want to know is how much for an Adamantine dagger?
A standard-grade adamantine object; Level 8; Price 350 gp per Bulk.
A dagger is Light. Is it 1/10th the cost plus the cost of a regular dagger?

Help me out oh wise ones.

Grand Lodge

...to make a 5' square difficult terrain?
Let's say the party is preparing for a siege, and there is an area that they want to make difficult to slow them down, how many trees would be needed to accomplish the task?

Grand Lodge

I know that we earn replays for playing PFS. I have 2 left.
If I use those up before earning more, is there a system in place where in you can "purchase:" more with Achievement Points? (not including evergreens)

Grand Lodge

Are there any spells that will damage objects?
Most damage spells, except Shatter, specify "creature".

Grand Lodge

Has anyone used the Kineticist Dedication Archetype on a character?
What kind, and in what way?
I am considering using it for my Iruxi Ranger.
While the occasional Blast may be nice to clean up mooks, I don't really see it being that useful for offence.
Which utility impulses do you like?

Grand Lodge

A character has a Protector Tree with them.
An attack "hits" for 20pts.
The tree blocks 10 points.
Assuming a raised shield, Can the character block the rest with his shield?

Grand Lodge

*Wood and bark grow over your body like armor. This hardwood armor is medium armor but uses your highest armor proficiency. The wooden armor's statistics are: AC Bonus +3; Dex Cap +2; Check Penalty –2; Speed Penalty –5 feet; Strength 14; Bulk 1; Group wood. Any bonuses, runes, and magical abilities of your actual armor are suppressed, but any runes that could apply to the hardwood armor are replicated onto it.

When you use this impulse, you can also create a wooden shield in a free hand. You can Shield Block with this shield even if you don't have that feat. The hand wielding this shield counts as a free hand for using impulses. The shield decays in an instant if it becomes broken or leaves your grasp.*

Can this shield affect AC, or is it only for blocking strikes?
Either way, it's really good!

Grand Lodge

I want advice regarding the Protector Tree spell, especially as used as the Wood Kineticists "Timber Sentinel" impulse.
From the description: "A Medium tree suddenly grows in an unoccupied square within range. The tree has AC 10 and 10 Hit Points... The tree isn't large enough to impede movement through its square.

If the tree is in soil and survives to the end of the spell's duration, it remains as an ordinary, non-magical tree, and continues to grow and thrive."

Do you think two uses of this impulse would create trees sturdy enough to support a hammock for a medium creature?

Is there a species of tree that would be stronger at that size?

GMs, would you allow the caster determine the species?
Kineticists are trained in Nature, so may know to "plant" Palm or Acacia trees in the desert rather than Oak or Cedar.
Leave fruit trees in areas where they could thrive.
If you're desperate, build a raft.
What would you allow?

Grand Lodge

If a party member is suffering from persistent fire or acid damage, and I aim my decanter, set on "fountain", at my buddy, would that count as an "Aid", reducing the flat check?
And, if we're in encounter mode, would I need to make a successful attack to effectively 'soak' the affected area?

Grand Lodge

Are there any (non-focus) spells that are exclusive to the Arcane list, the Divine list, the Occult list, or the Primal list?

Grand Lodge

If you are adjacent to a spellcaster, don't have improved unarmed strike, and don't otherwise have a weapon in hand, would a buckler be sufficient to threaten them enough to require casting defensively?
If the answer is "no", I assume it would be just as useless for flanking.

Thanks.

Grand Lodge

Is there any reason to believe that the movement from Ride the Blast ["You can use this wild talent as part of activating a kinetic blast other than telekinetic blast. You transform yourself into your element or energy and send yourself along with your kinetic blast. You appear at the end of the blast’s path, adjacent to the blast’s target (or final target, for form infusions like chain) or at the center of the burst or spread for form infusions like explosion. This ability doesn’t work with form infusions that involve melee attacks (such as kinetic blade) or that use a cone shape (such as spray)."} would provoke AoOs?

And could you escape a grapple with it?

My own opinion is "No" and "Yes" respectively, but there may be rules reasons I'm not aware of or considering.

Thanks.

Grand Lodge

If I have a Chaotic Good Cleric, and select the Divine Lance cantrip, Is it a "chaotic" spell OR a "Good" spell when chosen, or does the cleric determine the type at casting time. In other words, do I need to chose it twice if I want both options?

Thanks.

Grand Lodge

Since the Composite Charged Water Blast is a physical blast, would a golem take all the damage, or still be immune to the electrical damage? * This assumes it's a golem normally not affected by magical elecricity*

Grand Lodge

I've seen many times that bludgeoning is the best type of physical damage.
Is it the least resisted?
Does it have the best crit specialization effects?
Does any one disagree?

Just curious.

Grand Lodge

I realize it's far from optimal, but, could one use Illusory Creature to create an image of a person that someone is describing, and, as they continue, adjust the illusion until it matches what they remember seeing? Kind of like a magical sketch artist.

Grand Lodge

Do Handwraps of Mighty Blows affect Ranged unarmed attacks like Leshy Seed pods and Hooded Nagaji Poison spit?

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm soon to be starting my first Psychic character: a Fey-touched Gnome Barrister named Basingstoke, with Emotional acceptance and Distant Grasp.
Now, I'm not looking for optimization advice.
What I want is to know what experience others have had with the Psychic.
Have you been enjoying the class as a player? Have you found it lacking in some way? Do you find yourself doing the same routine in battle?
And GMs: What has been your impression?
And, of course, stories of Psychic heroics always welcome.

Grand Lodge

If you cast Magic missile while your psyche is unleashed, would you add the damage to each missile? If not, and you shoot more than 1 target, could you choose which target gets the extra damage?

Grand Lodge

Range 60 feet; Area: 2 non-overlapping 5-foot bursts

Does this mean that (1) the two 5' bursts can be in non-adjacent squares as long as they are both within 60' of the caster?
Or (2) the two 5' bursts need to be adjacent?

I would normally assume 2, but the Cantrip REDISTRIBUTE POTENTIAL specifies Area" 2 adjacent 5' squares.

(1) would make it a lot more versatile, but it seems a little too good for a 1st level cantrip.

Anybody else have any insight?

Grand Lodge

I'm starting "The Slithering" this week, and I'm playing a Gnoll Redeemer. We get the free archetype. Can anyone recommend an archetype. I'm going with Str18/Con14/Cha14.

Grand Lodge

Can a Geokineticist use Mobile Gathering while Earth Gliding?

Grand Lodge

This was inspired by the "Greatest itens in the Grand Bazaar" thread.
We now know that balls exist in Golarion.
But are there any established team sports that utilize balls?
Is there any country that has organized leagues?
Does Cheliax have a Soccer league?
Do Taldoran nobles play Polo?
Do Halflings and Gnomes ever have a pick up Basket ball game?
Is there anything at all in canon?
Just curious.

So, I was bored at work, so I decided to figure out the maximum number of skills I could get to Legendary and Master.
We start with Rogue, making sure to be trained in Society and Thievery. Simple enough. At second level, take the Archaeologist Dedication, which will bump up Society and Thievery to Expert, and use the skill increase on...Athletics. We now have 3 skills at expert. At 6th level we will have 7, but not in acrobatics.
At 7th, we will have 6 expert and one Master. At 8th level take the Acrobat Dedication. Acrobatics becomes master(and will auto increase to Legendary at 15), as well as whichever skill we choose to increase. So 5 expert and 3 master. At 14th, we have 1 expert and 8 master. At 15th we have 8 master and 2 Legendary.
So, by 20th we will have 3 master and 7 legendary. Now, if we want to, although it would be a bit extreme, we could use all of our skill feats, and all our General feats on Additional Lore feats, and get 25 more skills to legendary, for a total of 32 Legendary skills. Not bad for a life's work.

Grand Lodge

For the past 18 months or so, I have been mainly playing PFS2, with a few scattered PFS1 games finishing up the un-played scenarios.
This week, my group is playing a scenario I played 9 years ago. I told them if they need me to make a legal table, I'd be happy to play a pregen.
One mentioned that long time players should have some replays.
I only ever GM'ed once, so have no relays from there.
Did I earn some replays after the switch to PFS2?
If so, where would I find them listed?

Thanks!
