Suzuka whispers "Obscurity."
She asks the two men, "How and why are you here? How did you learn all of this?"

Likewise! I had mine late, following a long family tradition of shamelessly rescheduling holidays to suit our own convenience.
Suzuka rubs her bruises after tumbling through the portal and nods her thanks quietly to Tim for the healing. She takes in the knowledge imparted by the two men without immediate comment. It made sense that such words existed - there is a fundamental order to things, after all, and such a framework demands a method to control it at the most basic level. It disappoints her that she probably doesn't possess the power to command these words. "Do you command these words? Is there any way to transcribe them, to retain their knowledge after this place is gone?"
It takes a moment for Suzuka to realize that Arty is addressing her. She considers the question-a compact and rigid body would be far easier to handle than a jointed and segmented body flopping all around, but that could be a difficult concept to get across. And talking to people is hard. So she just looks down...oops, better adjust that grip...okay, better. Then she nods at Arty and continues trying to fly towards Jorian in these insane winds.
Suzuka grabs Arty, picking her up under one arm and attempts to fly towards Jorian.
She grits her teeth and yells "If you come here I can teleport us." But she's pretty sure he can't hear her.
Suzuka spends a Transmutation focus point to enact Mind Over Gravity, giving her a 60 ft Perfect fly speed. Then she flies in, attempting to grab any of her companions she can reach who are being tossed around by the winds.
Suzuka looks at the group from over by the door and whispers, "It's locked." She may be capable of forcing it open, but if anyone has the skills to unlock it, you're up.
Suzuka casts Spider Climb again and descends into the chamber after tying anyone off who needs it. She looks around with Aura sight to check for any alignment auras, then will check the door for any traps.
Suzuka nods at Tim and will lower down anyone who wants to be lowered.
Suzuka tries to pull out the plug.
Suzuka walks 60 ft up the side of the tower.
Suzuka will head back to the tower and look to Jorian with a small nod.
With the nearby elf dealt with, Suzuka turns her attention to the northernmost elf who is not beleaguered by pits. She diverts the telekinetic force to her new target and attempts to yank its bow from its hands.
She begins to advance on the elf.
Suzuka nods but makes no other move, simply staring at the elf for a moment, as she begins to pit her will against the Elf's body.
Telekinesis:
Suzuka cocks her head at the elf and calmly walks to a few paces before them with her own weapon drawn. Very deliberately, she gets into a ready position, points to the elf and then herself, and then points to the tower and gives him a questioning look.
Suzuka watches Jorian walk past and turns a much deeper shade of blue. She looks away from the group quickly, and deftly hops down to give him some distance.
Suzuka walks vertically down toward the ground, sticking out straight like a platform. She pauses when her head is next to Jorian's and whispers, To Jorian:
"Please stand on me, sempai." She then continues down until she's almost laying on the ground and waits, face unreadable.
Suzuka can get daily Auguries for each of us and a more general weekly augury through occult skill unlocks, but those are less informative than a commune. Anyone need their skull measured or their aura read? That stuff is typically what she's paid to do.
"Uhm, it says a thing in c..c..celestial. The secrets found within are not for those above. And its p-poisoned."
Any thoughts on how this little crew came to be assembled? Suzuka would likely have been hired but that's not the only reason she'd necessarily be here. She could also be here if there's something wrong with the tower's Feng Shui. Or if her tea told her to.
I don't, its something that I've taken with a handful of my tieflings.
Suzuka concentrates for a few seconds and then walks over to join Kid Artemis when it's clear that there's no immediate threat. She'll walk up the wall, examine the area for traps, then examine the script if she doesn't find any traps.
One other note- Suzuka has deathwatch at will and will typically have it active
When Kid Artemis starts moving out, Suzuka grabs the icy shield off of her back in one hand and draws the long 2-handed glass sword in her other hand to prepare for trouble. She holds the shield in a guard position and shouts (!) The shield glows briefly with a blue inner light and a cool mist wafts from its surface.
"Y..you..can just, um...just call me K-Kijo like everyone else."
The tiefling, not used to such attention, blurts out "I...uhmm." She nods.
The tiefling woman known widely as Kijo looks to the tower and then back at the group, eyes narrowed. While relatively short, she still cuts a fairly imposing figure. Fiery red coals smolder under stark white tresses, held up by a headband wrapped around two tall horns jutting up from her forehead. Wiry muscles ripple in her shoulders, back, and upper arms under pale blue skin. Her torso is clad in an intricately and anatomically sculpted mithral muscle cuirass, and judging by her arms the muscles are every bit as sculpted under the armor. If the gleaming chest piece is to be believed, her bust is every bit as bulging and impressive as her muscles. Over the armor she wears a very loose kimono with long sleeves, down off of her exposed shoulders. It droops very low in the back, exposing her back muscles as well as a small pair of black-feathered wings, each about the size of her hand. Currently obscuring these, however, is a large and roughly cut slab of ice, constantly slick with moisture but never melting. Two lengths of thick hemp rope embedded in the ice reveal it as an unusual shield. Below the kimono and a wide obi is a pleated garment reaching to mid-knee, somewhere between a hakama and a pair of culottes.
She looks between the group members and nods at the decided course of action, not that her input matters. She concentrates silently for a moment, brows furrowed and bright blue tongue sticking out between sharp fangs, and briefly tags each member of the group on their chest with her thumb. Within moments, each of them ceases to leave footprints on the dusty earth that they stand on.
Blasting does seem to be his niche.
I may have to re-learn this character. I don’t even know how many arrows she can shoot. I'm in the same boat. Luckily mid-level Occultists are pretty simple to get the hang of, right? |
