Wishlists and Lists

Wishlists allow you to track products you'd like to buy, or—if you make a wishlist public—to have others buy for you.

Lists allow you to track products, product categories, blog entries, messageboard forums, threads, and posts, and even other lists! For example, see Lisa Stevens' items used in her Burnt Offerings game sessions.

Reciprocity Coin - Critiques and Discussion

(12 items)

The Reciprocity Coin was my submission for RPG Superstar 2011. The basic concept is a coin that can be activated when given in a transaction - the giver then gets to make a demand of the receiver, and then the receiver gets to make a demand of the giver.

It's an unusual item, in my eyes, because it's built as kind of a player-owned plot generator. And because reciprocity and carefully crafting intricate demand phrasings are fun :)

So I'm reasonably pleased with the item itself, and I got a lot of interesting feedback for it, collected here, mostly for my own future reference.

Neil Spicer's exhaustive critique. Includes comments on plot devices as contest submissions (hint: they don't like 'em).

Comments:

Snorter takes issue with the believability of the item and its in-game use. This is one critique I actively disagreed with, because I see a lot of easy justifications and uses, so we discussed the issue a bit futher.

My response to Snorter, regarding different options of how and why I could see this item being used.

RonarsCorruption commented on the item being confusing and nonintuitive. This quotes his comments (from a many-item post of his).
