Long time reader here, but with the recent release of the new book, Ultimate Wilderness, a new class came along with it. So scholars of this thread, I have a question or two for you. What would happen if one of the participants had levels in the shifter class? And another question similar, yet different, what would happen if one had the oozemorph archtype of the shifter class?
True and I agree, but the same thing could be said for most other APs and some modules, except for maybe Shattered Star. I understand that it is a challenge to figure it out how to get it to work, but that is the reason I am asking for assistance to figure out how. Now if I wasn't too clear, I wanted help to make this work. Be it with scenarios or modules that seem to work with it, and level placement of the module parts of the AP. Now this bit is a bit crass on my part, but I do not mean any offense, just annoyance but the comment. But if you want to lampoon it, simply for the fact that it "doesn't fit" for your tastes, doesn't mean I, or anyone else think the same. So please, if that is all the constructive criticism you have, I rather see about figuring out how to get this to work. But thank you for your advice.
Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out a good way of running the module parts of Iron Gods with PFS. So far I have a idea on how to start it, but not necessarily how how to implement it. Start off with two evergreen scenarios, then Murder's Mark. Afterwards, the first module part of Iron Gods. But I am not sure what to run after that. So any help and advice would be great.
GM Advocate: I updated Alexander Malicdor with a bit ore tidbits in the backstory.
Made sure to note that the business is a lumber one, and looks to expand into different things. Also written down that the reason he decides to listen to Cimri's plan is that running low on money, he doesn't want to return back to his mother to see about more funds. Also, the thing about his sisters, is that they are currently out of the country of Cheliax. After all, they are both Pathfinders now. They might visit their mother, but with seeing Alexander so enthralled to Thrune, they might keep their distance. Anyway, there could be other family members show up later on though if you wish. Would be interesting to hear about a cousin, or maybe a half-sibling. What do you think?
GM Adovocate: GM, I thank you for the questions and inquiries about Alexander. I'll try to answer the questions you put forth.
Right. Got two characters available to a couple games that I am interested in. First up I have Alayi AhMheed. A Ifrit swashbuckler for either Legacy of Fire or Mummy's Mask. Then I got Mary Morrickson. A human Musketmaster Gunslinger for either Rise of the Runelords or Shattered Star. I hope that either one can get into their respective pbp. Also added these two to the registry document at the top.
Just updated my character, Alexander Malicdor with the wound threshold system in place. Though I have to say, that figuring it out was slightly confusing at first. I hope I got it all correct for someone that has 11hp.
Also made a profile for Alexander. Here is the link to the profile with the updated stats all ready to go. ^_^
Alright, good to hear that at least. I'll go with reactionary then as the third trait. Alexander's Background:
Alexander grew up in a high classed merchant family. A low ranking family in terms of Nobility, but was able to call himself Alexander of House Malicdor. Had decent upbringing and is the second in the line of children of the Malicdor family. The eldest sister is named Reilly. A headstrong woman and devotee of Asmodeous after her father. After Alexander is Selena. She decided to follow the word of Nethys. Interested more in magic sake, she still believes in her family. And the last child, Olyssia. A tiefling born and locked away. Yet cared for by mother. Alexander was brought up to heed the words of Asmodeous and the law of House Thrune. Believing that their word is the law. But it would not last. When Alexander became of age, he found out his own father planned to sell him and his younger sisters to the slave trade for "advancement" of the Family itself. Finding that appalling, he brought the evidence to the authorities. And his father arrested. All of the merchant business that father gathered was transferred to his mother. Not much is known what happened to him, most likely he died. Alexander does not care one bit. Afterwards, his mother Millian Malicdor sent him to the Academy that his older sister went to before joining the Pathfinder Society. Alex was glad to get away from the failed machinations of his father wrought. He took to his studies with glee, and in order. But when he found out that another student not only copied his theories, but claimed them as their own, he was furious. With help of a imp he bargained with, the both of them destroyed the reputation of his rival and had him expelled. Nearly arrested too, but not enough evidence was forged for that. They split their separate ways afterward. With that out of the way, Alex continued his studies and was more drawn to Necromancy than Conjuration. While one could bind a outsider and force your will upon it, it wasn't fool proof. But on the other hand, mindless undead followed your commands, no matter the risk to them at all. But he still followed his conjuration studies anyway, just in case. When his studies were over, Alexander headed back home. And found out his sister, Reilly joined the Pathfinder Society and died. Furious, he wanted to get revenge, but, he knew that she probably died to her own stupidity. His family was notorious for not keeping aware of their surroundings. He simply filed the knowledge away. With nothing else to do, he follows a request of his mother to head to Longacre, a place where military veterans and others are sent to live out their lives. Or to be silenced. And see if there are opportunities there for business, or favor within the local government there. When he gets there, he is brushed aside from the Lord Mayor and many businesses that refuse to do business due to the current events of the foolish Reclaimation. Annoyed, he visits a local bar and a woman, named Cimri speaks with him. A means to make a bit of money. He nods, agreeing with her. There is nothing better to do right now. Alexander thinks to himself. There's Alexander's Background. Academic, meticulous, yet ruthless. But also a bit bored while in Longacre. Also here is his short background.
Right. Here's my application so far with the character, Alexander Malicdor. A Chelish Necromancer/Conjuror. Currently has the traits Apprentice Devilbinder and Diobolical Dabbler with the drawback Meticulous. Still have a trait to go, but I am wondering if I can get the Rich Parent's trait? If not, I'd probably choose something for initiative. Or maybe something for fortitude. This link to the Pathfinder Wiki of the subject might help. I hope that helps some. Edit: Sorry, just read it over, and it does not have much if anything related to the regiment of the Kalistades. I know for one that they abstain from physical contact if they can help it. They wear white arm length gloves to prevent themselves from getting... Filthy. There might be more information in the Prestige Class too. Also look for any magic items that might be related. Edit Again: Here is the link to the Prestige Class with a little bit more info. Prophet of Kalistrade It is from the Archive of Nethys.
Yes, that was what I was thinking. Though I haven't thought about 4 different charts. Though that would be more options I guess. I was thinking that on a 1d100 Percent roll, and depending on what you rolled, you get the effect. Say... Random: 1d100 ⇒ 100
So having four different lists sounds like a good idea. I'll have to think on that.
I have an idea for a platform that in fluff, was made by a rather powerful Wizard that followed Irori. He made it to test, and train future monks at the monastery he lived at. Now, I am trying to figure out how to implement it as a functional magic item. Care to help me? So far, here are the ideas I have so far.
So what do you guys think? Care to help me figure out how to do this?
You could also try the sage familiar archtype. It gains the ability to speak a language per charisma ability. So at least a charisma of 12, your familiar can speak and understand one language. And that is any familiar. Edit: Sorry, I got that wrong. It is the Ancestor's spirit of the shaman that gives the ability to speak to its familiar. My apologizes.
I don't know if having as a pet would be wise. That would open up many casters to having a pet when they most likely didn't need one. And also, what happens when anyone happens to get a scroll of Command Undead on a mindless undead? I got a feeling if you want to have easier access to undead, either look into the Robe of Bones and the aforementioned spell, or see if you might reduce the price of onyx. Though in my opinion, everything is fine. Casters still have its smelly toy, and there isn't going to be a sudden pet rush of smelly things.
From what I understand about the Soulbound Puppet, is that it is more of a short duration spell deliverer with a couple added bonuses. And some options are not good in combat honestly, where most of those other bonuses are only good for certain skills. And the initiative ones would only be useful if it was already out before combat started, which is unlikely.
