Male Human Inquisitor/5 | AC 19/12/17 CMB +4 CMD 16| F+6, R+3, W+8 | Per +11, Init +5 | HP 36/36 | Domain Rounds: 5/5
![]() HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS FEAT!?!?!? If had gone with one of my ranged feats instead of weapon finesse for my retrain, I'd be able to take that at 7th level instead of 9th now! GODS DAMNIT!!!! .......GM? Can I do more retraining? EDIT: Whoa! I found another feat that's almost better! Duelist Just need to take Weapon Focus and I'll be ready! ![]()

![]() Having been in both those situations, I'm gonna say Experienced GM for noobs. They're easier to work with, and a Noob GM can be a little easily swayed. Would you rather have automatic crits with a dagger or only hit with a nat20 on a vorpal longsword? Yes, you are proficient with either one.
Optionally, why? ![]()
![]() Teifling Inquisitor. Inquisitor as a class is awesome, and Tieflings aren't inherently evil, so the Paladins would have to get over their racial prejudice. Would you rather order something online for full price and have it shipped next day, or order the same thing on clearance for 90% off and have it shipped in a month? ![]()
![]() Can I say neither? I really don't like either option, and possibly contracting an STD is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. But if I had no other choice, I guess I'd go with watching. I'm...actually a voyer and I like watching...Don't judge me...Stop it...I can feel your stares through the internet, stop it. (;P) Would you rather: Save someone's life if you knew they were gonna save millions in their lifetime, OR Keep a horrible monster of a person from becoming said monster? (You don't have to kill them, just a firm slap on the wrists or something) ![]()
![]() I'm gonna change my question. I don't understand what I was going for there. Would you rather: Have a car with a perpetual full tank of gas but no AC or stereo, OR A laptop computer that always has internet connectivity, no matter where you go in the world, free of charge, but the battery life of a GameBoy and the screen isn't backlit. ![]()
![]() Since I don't know what the original Juju Oracle is like, I'd go with the Asmodeun Paladin. If the only thing affecting availability of such a character is the alignment restriction, I'd whole-heartedly jump on this. The class that most people see as the paragon of justice and right all of a sudden turned a little crooked, keeping his minions in line with an iron fist and willing to barter with anything for a good deal and a spot next to the Archfiend at the End of Days. His armor would be cool as hell! (pun not intended) Would you rather be a caster intended to be in the thick of combat, but not a Magus, OR A martial class intended to be in the back with support and buffs, but not a Warpriest? EDIT: Damnit I got ninja'd!! If my other score stayed the same, I'd go with the Cha. I'm one ugly mo-fo and I'll admit it. ![]()
![]() I'll take the coke over the donuts. My dentist is gonna hate me though... Would you rather: See only the bad things in the future and not be able to change a thing with your newfound power, OR See only the good things in the future and know that any action you take can and will change those good things? ![]()
![]() Of the two, if the stinky players are good roleplayers instead of rollplayers, I'd go with them. Munchkins all just want to enjoy their breaking of game rules by redefining and then rebreaking them again. Would you rather: Play a game with great writing, unique challenges, but very little reward OR Play another cookie cutter adventure with a much bigger reward Optional: Why? ![]()
![]() Both have their allure, but I'd go with the stable crafter. At least the townsfolk won't hate me! A Point of Reference. A good book about a girl with this condition goes by the name "Mango Shaped Space" very good book. Worth the read. Would you rather taste or see sound? ![]()
![]() Does this include the example races from the Advanced Race Guide? Can I play a Gargoyle!? :D If you say no, then no biggie. Otherwise, I'd like to offer up an Orc Barbarian with the following stats: Bloodspiller the Terrible:
20 point buy Str: 18
Feat: Toughness
Dayrunner Alternate Racial Trait Do we get traits? What does starting gold look like (if any)? ![]()
Craft: Alchemy Marcel: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 Close enough. The beast lays slain on the ground, a few samples taken for Marcel and his unknown plans. Craft: Alchemy Crispy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Crispy is also able to get a few pieces of hide, the skull with horns, and the entire hand. His mind starts whirring, contemplating what could be done with these pieces... Know: Science Hide: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Those hide pieces, when tanned and sown right, could make a very good suit of armor. A suit of Leather Armor with a DR of 10/Large and a +3 to Stealth when in Marsh conditions. A DC 20 Craft Armor check would be required. The skull could be used for either a trophy or a helmet. A very scary one at that. As a Trophy, you would encounter fewer enemies when traveling. As a Helmet, you'd gain a +4 bonus to Intimidate and Bluff checks and a DR of 2/Large against shots to the head when wearing it, but a -3 Diplomacy to "civilized" people. The claw could be turned into a gauntlet, assuming a few other items could be collected. Wonder Glue, a Leather Belt, and a Medical Brace would be needed to make a Deathclaw Gauntlet, along with a DC 25 Craft Weapons roll. ![]()
![]() Level progression. Let me put it to you this way: Why can't my 2nd lvl Rogue stab a guy in the throat and kill him in an instant? The same Rogue at lvl 20 can decide weither his attacks deal extra damage or kill them instantly. What's the diff? Another example: Tower-Shield Specialist gains the Evasion ability against Spells and SLA at 16th lvl, which replaces Weapon Training 4. At 20th lvl, it acts as Improved Evasion, which replaces Weapon Mastery. Isn't it obvious the character should know how to do this earlier than that? That's almost end game for him. ![]()
![]() Mine tells me that Baron Hannis Drelev has amazing hair. I was looking through pictures for an avatar and saw this one. It looks a lot like me in RL (long brown hair and a goatee), so I stuck with it. As a point of note for finding an Avatar to work with an Alias, I had to find an avatar to fit a character for a game where I was playing a Sang'heili Scientist(Wizard). I found the Serpent God Statue picture and thought "Since I'm not actually wearing a helmet and can't hid my face, this looks pretty close." After ten posts, the name and pic stuck. Close enough. ![]()
![]() A friend of mine who is a genius at character building has this thing for making courtessans. Double the business! Another thing to consider is the trait Charming. That would be a great RP tool. Faceman meets the NPC Guard, who's a woman, and tries to charm his way into the kings court. NPC Guard says no on all accounts, but mentions the blond Barbarian with no skills in Diplomacy would have a better chance at sweet talking their way past her. Faceman becomes Facewoman, changing his/her clothing and saving the potion for later, just in case. Facewoman and NPC Guard reunite after Facewoman saves the kingdom and they settle down for a life of relaxation. That's my two copper, anyway. EDIT: I did a little research, and I've got a question for you, Duncan. Where did you find this elixir? I can't seem to find it for Pathfinder, or table-top RPGs. There is an elixir of sex change for Fable, but I can't find it for the setting we're in. Did you make that up? ![]()

![]() One more story, this one actually quite funny and not very good for the party or player. I was co-GMing a homebrew my brother normally hosted. I played both my character and the NPCs. As such, I knew where an ambush of bandits was coming from, but couldn't say. Combat ensues after we refuse to pay 5 gold apiece (25 gold total). The bandits had rapiers. They crit. Twice in the same turn. On my character. I ended up killing my own character with two bandits. I have yet to build another Magus, as my previous 2 Magi were also killed off. ![]()
![]() Oh wait! I just remembered a better one! During a PFS game, I forget the actual adventure, we encountered a large pipe organ. Next to this pipe organ, a small doll whispers to our Cleric, who had the highest Charisma, to play the organ. Cleric rolled a 20 on a perform Organ roll. Player said his character played the organ at his church. GM had no idea what to do. Normally, the roll would be crap and the doll would attack, but this time, combat was completely avoided and the doll was left in tears at the beautiful organ music. ![]()
![]() Worst crit has to be one of my favorites. I'm playing with a bunch of new players on the classic Godsmouth Heresy. We had a fighter, wizard, cleric, and rogue made for us by the GM, who happened to be my brother. I took the cleric, a Dwarf. I'd played Godsmouth before, so I knew what was coming, but kept my mouth shut. We eventually got to a part where we had to face a bloated zombie that, when delt slashing or piercing damage or killed, released a cloud of Cha draining dust. We took turns entering the room, all stabbing or slashing at it except for me, since I had a warhammer. We manage to get it out into the hall, the new players all but give up attacking it since they didn't want their Cha to drop. Being a Dwarf, I didn't care. I swing with my warhammer, shouting at the top of my lungs "I'm a Dwaaaaaarf!!!", crit, confirm, max damage of something like 26, get enclouded with the dust, crit again on the fort save. When the new guys asked "How did you do that!?" I simply replied in character. "I'm a Dwarf." I have since been denied playing with new players ever since. ![]()
![]() "Allow me to retell my tale of how I came to this...Sandpoint." Emilio's Story:
Emilio was born into a tribe of Orcs far to the south. His mother, a female used for breeding and trading, was never there for him as a kid, and at the early age of 3 he was introduced to the creature he would call his father. His father, a warrior called "Bloodstainer" in the common tongue, was one of the stronger warriors in the tribe, and as such, Emilio had a lot to live up to. He never made it, even as his inner rage at being a half-breed allowed him to overthrow his higher ups, granting him power in the tribe. As a final right of passage, he was given the opportunity to raid another tribe. As his adrenaline drained, he saw the Orc he had slain at his feet. He tasted the blood on his lips, and recognized the taste. The Orc he killed, known as Bangstick the gunsmith, was his real father, and the woman he called his mother was Bangstick's wife, captured while she was pregnant with Emilio. Emilio turned on his own tribe, leaving them, hoping they would think he died in the raid. He took the holy symbol from around his real father's neck, hoping to discover its meaning. He headed north, finding his way to Sandpoint, where his next adventure would begin... Thought I'd add a backstory. Kinda. Hope you don't mind a few liberties taken with names and locations. And he really does have a Holy Symbol in his inventory, he just never has any use for it. ![]()
Rodrick's Percep: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Somehow, Rodrick doesn't notice the metal pole clenched between Marcel's buttocks. "Ok, everyone load up. We leave in 5 minutes." If you have any final preparations to make before leaving for the encampment, now's the time. Edward, since you're not wearing your power armor, you're wearing your Merc Grunt outfit instead. ![]()
Your Sense Motive is the same. He's not telling the truth. Tamir enjoys a very nice glass of wine, the aftertaste a little stronger than most other wines he's had, but pretty good none the less. You made it. ------------------- Father Samual nods. "I will share what I know, however little it may be." He walks over to a cabinet that was set up for medicine. He pulls out a small glass vial of what looks like mud, but closer examination shows it is brown water. "This is what we believe the cause is of this disease. The water in the town well has been contaminated by something. We know the source of the well water is in the mines, but we have yet to send a team down into the mines. Our head miner passed just this morning. You saw me giving him his last rights." Father Samual is referring to the body on the table as Melchior walked in. Father Samual puts the vial away. "We need to find some way to purify the water supply. The only problem is, just before you arrived, the mines were overrun by kobolds, killing anyone who got unlucky enough to get caught inside." Father Samual breaths an exhausted sigh. "We need help, and we need it bad." ![]()
I once heard of a method of land mine removal from a Landmine Removal agent in Boznia that went as follows: A large sheet of wood, steel, or some other somewhat protective material is laid out over the area a mine is suspected of being placed. A small vehicle is then set to start rolling across the area, usually a jeep. The weight of the jeep sets off the mine, and the material protects the jeep. To an extent. [evil GM]I knew there would be a reason Edward's DR was so freakishly high. >:D ![]()
Holy crap! 16 pages!? This is nuts! I had no idea we'd be able to continue on this far with the game. Thank you everyone who is playing now! I'm so glad this is such a success. I do have a question for you guys: Are you having fun? Are you enjoying this as much as you would a regular game of Pathfinder? Is there anything you think I can improve on? Do better? ![]()
![]() I always see it less "What classes are needed?" and more "What services can be fulled?" Something along these lines: Trapper
The /Knowledge means a character with those knowledge rolls. One of those kinds of casters/characters isn't that bad an idea either.
If one character fills more than one service, then you have less to worry about. However, if a character takes on too many, you'll have a "Jack of all trades, master of none" situation. "I can heal you!" He heals the 20/126 hp Fighter for 6 points of damage. "That's all I got. Need to know what spell he's casti--? oh, nevermind. Anyone know how to bury a body? Wait, I do!" Why do I know that!? My two copper. ![]()
"I can help you with that, Paladin." Adam doesn't know that Edward is not yet a Paladin, still at the rank of Knight. Needless to say, he helps Edward build the rifle. It takes about 5 minutes. The new Railway Rifle is built and ready. Adam hands Edward the rifle. "A hundred years in this Vault and this is the only thing we have to show for it. Take good care of it, ok?" This is the one weapon a Paladin is not proficient with. Since it has not existed in the world before, you can't be trained with it. The next time you have a chance to spend a feat, you may spend it on Railway Rifle Proficiency. EDIT: I've decided that would be a waste of a feat. If you lvl up with the rifle or any custom weapon in your possession, you may take that weapon's proficiency feat as a Bonus Feat for that lvl. Railway Rifle Stats: Railway Rifle
Range: 60 ft Damage: 2d6 (19-20)x3 Clip: 6 round clip (railway spikes) Special: If used in a Called Shot, a confirmed critical does x6 damage instead of x3 damage. |
