It doesn't take long for people to start congratulating you all, drinking your health, and in general they seem quite pleased that you all stepped up and saved one of the locals.

Word gets to Rickety eventually, and he comes out to see what's happened. After hearing the story from several of the locals, he approaches you, "here now, good show you lot, I can't say as much as I feel it just how grateful I am. Rough summer it seems, and the water nagas must really be feeling the heat of it for one of them to come down here. Still, she did, and you saved my man. Sorry how much GP is there per person? I think Chaenath should actually buy the things that are on her sheet. I don't think anybody objected to Doc selling the stuff. Chaenath took the sickle and the ring of swimming though.

The next day after the beer party and such that followed the saving of the dock worker from the water naga, your group is walking around Rickety Squibs, when you notice a cloud of birds off in the distance.

Some of the residents spy them as well, and immediately start yelling and screaming for everyone to run for cover. You hear people instructing each other to get inside, take cover, and to batten down the hatches.

As you head towards cover yourselves, the cloud engulfs the small settlement, and you realize that these aren't birds at all, they are giant insects.

We will forego the knowledge check on this, and I'll tell you these are giant wasps, and it is fairly obvious they have venom in their swordlength stingers.

And three of them are blocking your retreat from the docks towards the buildings.

Having woken up with a sore head, Alessandra at first mistakes the humming of the arriving insects as her own ears ringing. As she watches the alarm sound, however, she realises that there is a genuine danger, and the bow is off her back and drawn in an instant.

As soon she sees the three giant bugs blocking their exit, she shoots them.

Wasp #3 shrugs off half the damage from Chaenath's scream.

And then Ethron's critical shot destroys Wasp #3.

All static bonuses get multiplied on a critical, the Judgement qualifies.

The party makes it successfully into a nearby shack, and is safe from the wasps. Peeking through cracks in the door, you see the wasps swarming over the area, after spending a minute safely inside, you hear screams. Looking out, you see a dock worker trying to fend off two wasps, but they have overcome him, and one of the wasps is making to carry the worker off.

Spurred into action when the elf draws attention with her toy bow, Alessandra glares at her and runs past, drawing her swords as she does so. "I'm gonna regret this. I can tell already."

Double move into melee to protect annoying elf who won't stay undercover and unknown mook who's probably already dead but what the hell, draw weapons
