Wasn't what I was expecting

2/5

What I was really looking for was skeletal champions of various first level classes, both npc and pc. I just wanted CR 2 and 3, since skeletal champions can be any class.

Just wanted to let others know that while it contains other races, and some other classes at higher levels, this does not contain skeletal champions of different classes, other than an archer version of warrior 1.

Love the detail, but what gender?

4/5

The detail on this is awesome, and I happen to like the backpack. I modded a bones of this to have a staff instead of a vial in hand, for a generic adventurer. I don't like the strange neck attachment to the jacket. Whenever I use this mini, however, the players can never tell what gender it is. Without knowing the iconic, it is not particularly obvious it is a male.

I guess that's a plus for whenever you need a gender-neutral miniature.

Pretty, but the scythe takes extra care

4/5

While this is a pretty miniature, the scythe may require pinning to stay on, or a lot of care with green stuff/superglue. On one mini I shortened the scythe in order to keep it attached, with green stuff/glue. The other I have not yet been successful in keeping it on at full length. I have modded/painted three of these so far, including one without the scythe and one I'm still working on. I was the one who modded Jezebelle's mini. In addition to not using the scythe, I cut off the top of the scythe and used green stuff to sculpt an extra lock of hair out of the base of the top of the scythe. I also turned the middle part (what her hand is resting on) into a scroll case.

The green/blue scheme is hard to replicate, as it uses blending, a technique I haven't mastered yet.

Quality, but somewhat irrelevant *Spoilers*

3/5

The major issue I have with the map folio is the two maps of Ardis and Karcau. I realize they are "major locations in Ustalav," but they aren't mentioned in the campaign. In the entirety of the 6 modules, "Ardis" is mentioned twice in a backstory, while "Karcau" doesn't show up a single time. Why are two of the four city posters completely useless to a GM running Carrion Crown straight (and only) from the AP? It's called the Carrion Crown poster map folio. There were other cities and towns actually in the adventure path that could have been included instead.

Aside from two extraneous maps, the maps that are included are awesome, usual Paizo quality. The city maps show individual buildings but no scale.

I wish the major map of Ustalav was more player-friendly, however. It would have been nice to post it up in the game room. It also would have been nice to get an basic outline and name of the adjoining countries to Ustalav, as they are influential.

Disappointed

1/5

I was expecting short rhymes and things I could sing or chant while inspiring courage as a bard. The few short poems aren't rhymes and are not inspiring.
The longer stories are a waste of space. No one at the table wants to listen to a bard reading/singing a long story. I was very disappointed. I can find much better material through Google. I was hoping this would be material tailored to PF bards that could be entertaining little ditties during game.

One of the stories actually has King Arthur as the topic. The author's commentary was not needed and wasted space.

4/5

This is a great general magic user mini. I especially like the bracers. (bracers of armor are useful for mages) The scroll is blank and allows a skilled painter to design runes and symbols. I use it for my Vudrani soceress (from Pathfinder's Golarion), though it would also work for a Ketapesh or Varisian. I do want to point out that her casting fingers are at odd angles, can be considered a perk or an oddity.
