I suspected this would be answered by the end of the week. And as usual, Paizo has delivered.

Note that the EFF statement got updated today, with a suggestion that the OGL 1.0a is NOT revocable.

That's the problem: That's fundamentally true. Whatever Mr. Dancey believed in 2000 and/or wrote into a FAQ in 2004, the actual text of the license does NOT make that license irrevocable, only perpetual. A perpetual license just never EXPIRES, it's not a license that can't be revoked or modified (clause 9 of OGL 1.0a explicitly reserves the right to unilaterally modify the license to begin with).

Ryan Dancey's intention may have been that the license be irrevocable. The problem is that Wizards of the Coast, which is the legal entity that crafted that license, never made it so. And any contract that is not explicitly irrevocable is not irrevocable.

I'm not happy with the change. But it's not actually fraudulent and anybody going to court on the supposition that it is is going to get their ass handed to them. OGL 1.1 is damage and because of the size of Hasbro/WotC, we just have to route around it.

Not just Mr Dancey, but also the lawyer who wrote the license.

As well, perpetual licenses at that time were not, and had never been, explicitly stated as being irrevocable.

I wanted to use this sale to fill some gaps in my collection.
Sadly, the shipping costs triple the cost of the order.
And there is always the risk of further add-ons by customs and Canada Post (if they open a parcel to examine it, there may be a minor tax charge (<$1), but they have a $10 service charge on top).

All told, it is still cheaper for me to get e-pub versions or order hardcopies elsewhere.

This is all beyond Paizo's control, but illustrates some of the hidden problems they run into with this product line.

Really cool product. I'm glad to see I had the right general idea.

Game 3: Depths of Despair with GM's Brian Bauman and Erik Keith

We played a crew of an experimental submarine out on a shakedown cruise, when things went horribly horribly wrong. Used the Basic RPG System.

The GM's really went all out with the preparation for this scenario, with great props, lighting, and sound, as well as a solid feel for the plotline.

Between this and Grimmerspace, Friday was my favourite day of the con.

Death: My Communications Officer was slow to abandon ship, and was the 5th to arrive as the 4-man decompression chamber separated. He further failed to pilot the doomed sub in an attempt at a heroic sacrifice.

Game 2: Grimmerspace Abattoir 8 with GM Lou Agresta

A scenario set in the new Grimmerspace setting for Starfinder. Our plucky band of entertainers set out for a gig in a food production facility, when things went horribly horribly wrong.

I was lucky to game with a really fun group, and we came up with creative solutions and roleplay as we made our way around the facility.

It is always important to look at the equipment provided for your pre-generated characters :)

Death: My envoy technically survived this session, because he was at 4 hp when our time was up, but we were nowhere near completing the scenario. I still got an "I died in Grimmerspace" ribbon.

I'd prefer the geologist, comm, or engineer, but I'm flexible.

Looking forward to the game!

Andretta tries again to put the eastern akata to sleep, but its will remains as strong as it was the last time.
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

The lead akata has a desperate craving for elf now, and continues its assault.

Morgrom steps between the two akatas and swings at the one which is not being flanked.

CHOP!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 132d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6
This may have been a tactical error.

Those have been live for a while (see below for links). If you mean the rules content from them (as opposed to new mechanics/options), then yes, that's coming. We aim to get all the Rules from the RPG line and any other book that includes new rule options.

Petronicus amply demonstrates why his bouts of bravery are uncharacteristic.

Thorthal moves in and rears back for a mighty blow. Unfortunately, this gives the klaven just enough time to dodge out of the way.

BR-N3R rushes in behind Thorthal, and his energy beam lances towards the klaven from the side.
fwoosh: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 4 = 01d6 ⇒ 5
Obviously, it was designed as a lab assistant.

The klaven drops its rifle and tries to make Petronicus pay for his rashness.

Thorthal sees that Petronicus has engaged the enemy, and moves to the nearest klaven warrior. He is quick enough to strike against it, but has no luck with his attack.

BR-N3R is still trying to compile the input it got from Haer Kul.

Oh my goodness!
There are a quartet of klaven guards who were in various levels of awareness of the party's presence.
Now, however, they have a target they can focus on.
The one near Thorthal draws an axe and attacks, while the other three fire their spur rifles at the dwarf, heedless of any friendly targets who may be in the way.
axe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

There are a couple of tense moments as Morgrom "sneaks" through the portion of the hall which is in line of sight of the Klaven guards, but apparently they are not all that attentive.

The wyrd leads the group down the western branch to a room.
The large chamber includes four, dominating columns of unusual green metal. Each one throbs with a slow, rhythmic pulse shedding a faint green light with the eerie sound of a heartbeat. A thin layer of orange dust, marked by animal-like paw prints, coats the floor. To the northwest, a large breach has taken down part of the external wall, plainly revealing an alien landscape of barren rubble and debris strewn by the impact crater of a dark blue meteorite. A shimmering translucent field of energy has cordoned off the broken wall from the outside environment, occasionally flickering with an intermittent drop in power. Several spherical objects litter the ground before the meteorite, both inside and beyond the energy field. Composed of strands of unusual metal, they appear hollow and torn open from within. A nauseating tang emanates from them, filling the air inside the room.

Goblins as core PC's is one of two items in previews which concern me from a canon/headcanon standpoint (the other being resonance).

That said, it's certainly not something that is make or break for me until I see the entire system. After all, these are designers who have helped me to have a lot of fun with my friends over the last 10+ years.

It is foolishness to try to understand the thinking of the Pactmasters of Katapesh, yet even more foolhardy to defy their will.

A small group travels in a caravan through the desert of Katapesh, one week out of Solku. The journey has been grueling, with danger wearing the most tedious of masks: heat, exhaustion, and thirst. Three days ago, the older priest of Sarenrae was killed by a scorpion in his tent, leaving only his acolyte to continue on this mission.

The task awaiting will be difficult. The caravan is led by Garavel, major domo to the merchant princess Almah Roveshki. Almah seeks to reclaim the lost village of Kelmarane, once a critical trading center on the way to Osirion, now overrun by gnolls.

The caravan is nearing a landmark known as The Sultan's Claw, where Almah awaits. In the haze to the west, the outline of Pale Mountain can be made out in the fading evening light, rising from the horizon like a pale tombstone.
