Male Human Nerd 10

Sorry, things got too busy for me to continue. we were pretty much done anyway. I am reporting the game complete. I was just waiting on one SFS # which I now have.

I am going to be putting out the rewards sheets, shouldn't take me too long to edit them. I will PM you all the links.

Thank you all for the experience. Hope you have many great adventures in the future.

Male Human Nerd 10

welp I have learned my life is too chaotic for GM'ing. Probably not gonna do this again. I appreciate you all giving me a chance. I hope you found something enjoyable in this mess. There is just a few finish up posts to do and then I can report.

I am wiped from a lousy weekend so I will have A response Belta and Bonkers tomorrow.

Male Human Nerd 10

WOOT! Everyone is not dead

The humanoids look at each other quizzically as the group attempts to speak to them. They stand motionless for a moment. Seeing the party isn't immediately attacking them, The largest of the group say a word and moves cautiously through the room. The rest of the group keep their many eyes on the party. Eventually the humanoid moves some fallen debris out of the way to reveal a small metal case. The creature opens the case a look of reverence on his alien face. it mumbles a few words as if in prayer and reaches into the case to reveal a small device.

The device begins to emit an audible sound. The same signal that the Starfinder society had originally detected. It would seem that this "priest" has found the source of the signal and it appears to be some sort of holy relic.

The transmission is much clearer with the group in close proximity. It would be an easy thing to scan and record it to bring back to Guidance to complete the mission. No roll required

Ackbar's disembodied voice echoes in the ether."IT'S A TRAP!"

The soothing warmth of the heater unit is suddenly enflamed as the whine increases in pitch, before anyone can even move the unit explodes in a gout of metal shards up to ten feet away.

The modual said it triggers if two or more people are adjacent or someone tries to warm themselves. I wanted to give a turn to move away but (Belta warms her hands in front of the heating unit) I am not tryin to be a jerk. sorry.

DC 13 to save for half damage, Belita, Saratur and Bonkers are within 10. Let's assume a short rest was done since I don't want anyone to die please.

3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1) = 6

The sound of the explosion echoes throughout the cavern. As the group collected itself sounds of footsteps filtered into the area. the party turned to see A group of half a dozen creatures approaches cautiously. Each is humanoid with facial features that resemble a bat’s, though
with four eyes and a ruff of pale featherlike fur around their neck. they wear what could be thought as clerical vestments and carry objects of obvious religious importance, such as censers and small icons. They carry no sources of light into the cavern, and only two of them are wielding obvious weapons, but have yet to take an aggressive stance. They stop a safe distance away, seemingly unsure of what to do next.

They mumble amongst themselves in an unknown language.

No worries. I am pretty sure I can have this wrapped up by Tomorrow.

Male Human Nerd 10

The cavern has collapsed partially into this wide room, greatly reducing its size. Rotting furniture strewn about looks like it might have once been comfortable. A slightly glowing technological cylinder stands in the center of the chamber, clearly once the room’s focal point. Doorways lead south and northeast, though the latter is partially blocked by stone.

You recognizes the cylinder as a heating unit, which is surprisingly
operational after being neglected and damaged in subsequent quakes. A Bonkers, Saratur and Belta move to stand adjacent to the unit and can feel the warmth it gives off. The unit is humming.

Bonkers finds a reflective object, upon closer inspection it reveals a laminated trifold brochure which features bright, colorful text and photographs of humanoid figures in climbing gear dangling from ropes or exploring large caves. Unfortunately, due to the item’s age, it is difficult to discern exactly what the humanoids look like. Many words contain symbols that look vastly different from the other letters in them. Each of these symbols is made up of four tightly grouped dots and dashes in a square formation; each one has either a dot or a dash at each formation’s corner, ranging from all four dots to all four dashes.

DC 18 Culture check:

This room is actually empty so I am going to move everyone one to the next room. I will count those rolls for the next room Heading North East to A5

A massive amount of rubble spilled into this chamber through the northeast wall and ceiling, in the process knocking aside several moldering computer desks and piles of broken electronic equipment. Doorways lead north, west, and southeast.

Upon entering the old computer room, both Bonkers and Mega Spot a A glint of metal in the rubble, Upon further investigation they reveal a what appears a busted drone shaped like an oblong capsule and sporting a single hover-capable engine, a small speaker, and four lights in a square-shaped pattern at one end. Its metal casing is dented and tarnished, likely from falling rocks or other blunt debris. The drone has no power, and its battery port is damaged, requiring several hours to repair. However, it is clear evidence of Pact Worlds-level technology.

Through the large hole in the wall to the north you can see a faint glowing light. Though the hole to the south nothing but darkness.

Map updated

Male Human Nerd 10

Fair enough, Fast track mode engaged.

Male Human Nerd 10

Ok, so we have 3 rooms left. This game has run longer then I wanted. That is my bad and I apologize for that.

In one of the next 3 rooms there is supposed to be another battle. So I want to poll the team to see if you guys want to actually fight the battle or should we skip it and move quickly to just wrap things up?

Male Human Nerd 10

A circular counter, approximately three feet tall, occupies the center of this similarly round chamber. A gap allows access to the space behind the counter, and empty rusted racks are spaced around the counter surface. Two defunct datapads are mounted to the counter. Doors exit in all directions, and part of the southern wall is missing due to a massive crevice in the floor leading into darkness.

Waverly scans the area carefully but nothing seems to pop out as being noteworthy.

Male Human Nerd 10

The data pad hums with life as the power feeds into it. The screen bursts into life causing a momentary loss of sight as the new light source catches the eye. After a few seconds the screen resolves into a map of the area.

MAP Green line is your path

Male Human Nerd 10

That was a little painful lol

The last remaining Skeleton turns it's attention toward Mega a rasping hiss escaping from its boney jaw. Several bolts of energy sear into the creature as the Dwarf brandished his hammer. With a mighty swing the business end collides with the bone and shatters the undead into splinters.

combat over

Taking a moment to catch their collective breaths, Our heroes cautiously examine their surroundings. Belta, being cautious moves to ensure the threat is neutralized, while sifting through the rubble of the skeletons, she comes across a small plastic cube. when she picks the plastic up, it immediately unfurls itself into the shape of a datapad. The datapad appears to be powered down and has a small crack in the screen, perhaps there is a way to charge it? Computer Check DC 16 to adapt a power source.

While that is happening, Waverly determines that this chamber was likely the waystation’s infirmary, tending to any wounds sustained by the visitors during their spelunking adventures. Injuries were usually minor, requiring only simple splints, slings, and pain killers, but the facility had the equipment and expertise to tend to more serious cases. The cabinets on the eastern wall held medicine and other supplies, all of which have either been ransacked or left to rot. The ceramic frames were once part of the infirmary’s beds.

There is an amount of suspicious looking fungus growing on the rocks in the area. Their are mushrooms sprouting, pointing to organic material once being in the area, the mushrooms are now beginning to wilt probably from lack of nutrients.

Would you like to do anything else here or move on? The exits are back the way you came or through a door to the north east.

Male Human Nerd 10

T3dy opens up, blasting the last remaining skeleton with a glancing blow. The Skeleton does not appear much phased by the damage.

The Skeleton fingers clench at Saratur
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
But Saratur is able to evade the slow Skeleton and move away with a cry to Belta. Having a clear shot for a moment Belta fires another volley of pistol fire that miss the moving target in the dark.

Waverly pumps out another round of covering fire but still the undead is not phased by the flow of energy hurtling toward it.

Mega moved to fill the space newly created by Saratur's move. The dwarf lays into the creature with a mighty swing smashing into the bone sending splinters flying.

Bonkers Levels the rifle and shoots into the darkness, pulling up at the last second to avoid Mega. the blast goes wide.

Recap
T3DY hits for 1 damage
Skeleton missed a Grapple (WOOT!)
Saratur moved away
Belta missed
Waverly failed cover fire
Mega hits for 4
Bonkers missed.

Skeleton 4: 8HP remaining.

Round 3 recap

T3Dy Squeezes off another shot that sizzles into Mega's Attacker Skeleton 4 The skeleton bursts chunks of bone from the hit but continues to move.

Skeleton 3 Chases Saratur lunging with outstretched claws to rake our hero.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Belta pops off more shots at her newest target [skeleton 2] killing another of the undead monsters. at the same time Saratur again lights up the room with a belch of ineffective fire.

Waverly Boldly lays down some covering fire but the skeletal minions seem not to be affected by it.

Mega let's out a massive warcry as the hammer comes down on skeleton 3 smashing the creature into little splinters of bone.

I just realized I made an error last round. So I am going to take a minute to correct it.

Male Human Nerd 10

The fray is truly joined, T3dy takes a careful step away from the assailant and fires a quick shot that goes wide.

As Waverly's attacker (Skeleton 4) swipes clawed fingers at him the long boney fingers fold backwards in an attempt to grab ahold of Waverly.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Grapple

But Waverly manages to avoid the hold.

Meanwhile another Skeleton (Skeleton 3), takes another rake at Saratur with boney talons but also misses the attempt.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Belta takes a deep breath to steady her aim and unloads her pistol at the skeleton in defense of Mega. Several rounds smash into the skeletal creature's head, ripping chunks of bone off the already damaged undead, the creature shudders and collapses into a pile of rubbish. At the same time Saratur's weapon coughs a gout of flame that lights the darkness but he overestimated his position and the skeleton avoided the fire he then moves to gain a better position.

Waverly let's out an involuntary warcry Because who isn't going to scream like a bad ass when they try to smack a skeleton in the face? and slams his rifle into the arm of his attacker. The weapon connected but glanced off the odd angles of the skeleton doing no noticeable damage. Waverly takes the opportunity to strategically retreat.

Skeleton 1 is dead so not action

Mega flexes ready to level a mighty swing at one of his attackers (Skeleton 1) when he notices the creature collapse. He moves to change the angle of the swing to target the other closest attacker (Skeleton 4) but the angle is off and the swing goes wide.

The last skeleton Skeleton 2 seeing T3dy retreat, lunges at the next closest target.

1d4 ⇒ 3 1,3=Mega, 2,4=Bonkers
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

But missed Mega.

TLDR
Bad dice round
Skeleton 1 Killed by Belta
no other changes this round.

Combat update in the works :)

Male Human Nerd 10

The Battle Begins, T3DY gasps audibly and cries out. "Look out" before leveling his rifle at a skeleton. Skeleton 2 with a blast of energy he hits the undead creature with a solid blast.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d8 ⇒ 7

One of the monstrous creatures Skeleton 4 runs faster then one would think and moves into striking distance of Waverly Closest Visible enemy With sharp bony talons the skeleton rakes at Waverly's Face.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 vs K.A.C.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

At the same time another of the creatures Skeleton 3 launches itself at Saratur Closest visible enemy claws out stretched.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 vs K.A.C.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Saratur and Belta both move in unison. Belta fired a couple of shots and winged one of the undead Skeleton 1 and doing some damage, Saratur appeared to be stunned or perhaps biding his time to attack.

Waverly fended off his attacker and made reversed the roles firing a blast square into the skeleton Skeleton 4 but it doesn't seem to effect the creature.

Meanwhile Mega found himself directly beside a skeleton Skeleton 1 that came out of nowhere and lunged at the dwarf.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 vs K.A.C.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Thankfully the Dwarf was experienced and able to turn the attack before offering a rebuttal with his hammer. Smashing into the Skeleton.

Bonkers Quickly grabbed an ampoule and stabbed it into Mega granting the Dwarf a level of protection from the enemy.

Finally The last skeleton Skeleton 2 moved into range of T3dy and Like it's fellows slashed at the android and scored a hit.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 vs K.A.C.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

TLDR.
Skeleton 2 Damaged for 7 by T3dy
Waverly Damaged for 8 by Skeleton 4
Skeleton 3 missed
Belta Damages Skeleton 1 for 3
Skeleton 4 takes 0 damage from Waverly (immune to non lethal)
Skeleton 1 missed
Skeleton 1 damaged for 8 by Mega
T3Dy Takes 8 Damage by Skeleton 2

HP:
Skeleton 1: 2 hp
Skeleton 2 6 hp
Skeleton 3 13 hp
Skeleton 4 13 hp

Round 2: All Skeletons are within 25 feet of everyone so shooting is good.

T3DY is in melee range with Skeleton 2 and Skeleton 1
Saratur is in Melee with Skeleton 3
Belta No melee can shoot all
Waverly is in melee with Skeleton 4
Mega is in Melee with Skeleton 1 and Skeleton 4
Bonkers No Melee can shoot all

I am determined to make this work lol

Writing my reply now

Male Human Nerd 10

Yeah that works for me. Sorry for the delay. We hit a Long weekend and with all the tourism stuff being open my last few days have been super busy.

Male Human Nerd 10

OK forget the map. Too many issues.

@Mega Skeleton 1 popped up directly Beside you so you have no Issue hitting with your hammer. The Furthest away from you is skeleton 4 at 25 feet so you could get to 2 and 3 within 1 move.

@T3DY Skeleton 1 is also within Melee distance of you. Skeleton 2 is 10ft, Skeleton 3 is 20ft, Skeleton 4 is 25ft[/occ]

[ooc]@Belta the perception check was unrelated to the Skeletons and did succeed, I was going to address it after the combat. Your shots are in range no issues. We will call it dim light because of Waverly lights So I will have to roll a % on the Skeleton due to concealment. For your minds eye, Skeleton 1 is about 10ft, Skeleton 2 is about 20ft, Skeleton 3 is about 25ft, Skeleton 4 is about 30ft. Mega and Waverly are standing in front of you blocking the Skeleton from advancing on you.

@Bonkers Mega is directly in front of you between you and Skeleton 1 which is 10ft away. Skeleton 2 is about 20ft. Skeleton 3 is about 20ft and Skeleton 4 is about 25ft.

@Saratur The closest to you is Skeleton 3 at 10ft followed by Skeleton 1 and 4 both at 20ft last is Skeleton 2 at 25ft.

Waverly you are in front of Belta and Beside Mega, Skeleton 1 is 10ft Skeleton 2 is 20ft, Skeleton 3 is about 15ft and Skeleton 4 is 20ft.

I can Bold the Next person in line Thanks For the Tip. I figured everyone post their actions when they are able and I will organize but if it is easier to post one at a time we can do that next round. I just figured that would result in too much waiting and slow combat.

Hope I got Everything.

Round 1:

As the group moves about the ancient infirmary, small piles of rubble begin to vibrate and tremble. Loud noises draw the attention of the crew as FOUR skeletal figures pull themselves together. The figures each have four eye sockets containing visible purple glow of necromantic energy.

The Creatures

Combat:

Belta: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Mega: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Bonkers: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Saratur: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Waverly: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
T3Dy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Skeleton 1: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Skeleton 2: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
Skeleton 3: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Skeleton 4: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20

Looks like order is
T3Dy
Sk 4
Sk 3
Saratur/Belta
Waverly
Sk 1

Bonkers
Sk 2

Ok let's give this a try. Post when you are able and I will organize it. If you need minds eye due to map failure or whatever just let me know. I took the ini numbers off your sheet if I missed anyting let me know....If i screw up...please let me know :)

Male Human Nerd 10

I take it you are still moving south. No problem.

The back wall of this chamber is completely gone, revealing a large cavern of rough stone. Clusters of sickly fungus grow in the cracks and corners of the cave, near patches of loose rubble. Metal cabinets hang on the eastern constructed walls, though some of their doors are gone, revealing the shelves within. Bits of ceramic frames poke out from piles of other debris. A door exits to the northeast and a hole in the wall leads northwest.

Perception in the new room is still DC 20

Male Human Nerd 10

As the group begins to move to the next location Saratur catches a glimpse of something metallic poking out of some of the rubble. Taking a moment to clear the rubble away he finds an older model grappler. The grappler seems to be in good condition and a few tests indicate that it still works without issues. It comes with 60ft of adamantium cable which also seems to be in good condition.

@Bonkers I am sorry you are having problems. I don't know why. I have checked it out several times and the map seems to be working. The group is in a three by three huddle at the moment. If it keeps screwing up we can just minds eye it.

Male Human Nerd 10

Swing and a miss. Ok well maybe next time. :) So from here we can keep going south/west through the cracks in the wall or through the door to the south.

Side note, we are very close to the end of the module. sorry about how long it is taking. I hope everyone is ok with the casual speed it shouldn't be too much longer now.

Male Human Nerd 10

Crap Dang internet hiccups. Map should be back. I will move everyone into the south room and you can move yourself if you aren't happy with the position[ooc]

Cracked shelves line the room, with several more lying broken on the large markings on the floor show that at one time this was probably some sort of storage. Multiple piles of other debris have been pushed into the corners. Gaps in the wall lead west and south. A door exits to the east.

[ooc]Perception checks please. In this room I am looking for a DC 18 for a special treat.

Male Human Nerd 10

Bonkers search of the info reveal's nothing about what species this toy may represent, It would seem that the group has found themselves on something of a first contact scenario.

Bonkers does surmise that the toy does resemble a souvenir or possibly keepsake from the original inhabitants of the planet. Taken with the current surroundings it is easy to guess that this cave and building was probably some sort of tourist attraction, possibly somehow related to the caves themselves.

Male Human Nerd 10

While Bonkers and Belta area casually looking around the lockers for a signs of the mysterious signal, Belta spots a little bit of what looks like fabric sticking out of the bottom of one of the lockers. She approaches and sees a little stuffed toy. It appears to be an unknown alien species but otherwise resembles a typical child's toy.

Pic of toy

other then that nothing really stands out.

The exits from here are SOUTH or back the way you came

Male Human Nerd 10

The party all grouped up in the locker room, Mega and Saratur don't see anything particularly out of place with their rolls. Would any one else like to Roll Perception now that you are in the same room?EDIT it might be best to roll perception every time you get into a new room, you are looking for a signal after all. The DC I am looking for is 20

Other then that you are all in a basic locker room. for ease of play the door to the south is not locked. What do you want to do?

Male Human Nerd 10

From Saratur's point of view
The cavern has collapsed partially into this wide room, greatly reducing its size. Rotting furniture strewn about looks like it might have once been comfortable. A slightly glowing technological cylinder stands in the center of the chamber, clearly once the room’s focal point. Doorways lead south and northeast, though the latter is partially blocked by stone.

From Mega Kodrog's Point of view
A row of ruined lockers line the eastern wall of this cramped room. A door leads southwest. The northwestern wall bears what may have been another door now completely demolished.

The Cylinder is emitting light and can clearly be seen. You should see the light on the map.
May I please have a Perception Check From Mega and anyone who headed south with him.

Male Human Nerd 10

Sorry the password was just to prevent people from accidently logging into the wrong character.

Male Human Nerd 10

ok Waverly is Emitting 15 foot light. I am just going to run with it

Male Human Nerd 10

oh snap for some reason I would have sworn Belta was an android. Ah well. If only Cakes had offered Infrared armor mods.....MUAHAHAHAHAhAhAH! :-) I kid, I kid......or do I?

Male Human Nerd 10

The total darkness of the cavern lasts for barley an instant as each of the group members utilize their abilities either natural or otherwise to overcome the deficit.

You all take a few moments to orient yourself to your new surroundings. Inside the cavern is the remains of a building, obviously made by a sentient species. The cavernous itself has a ceiling height of 20 feet and the interior
rooms have a ceiling height of 12 feet. The interior walls appear to be made of steel. A low hum can be heard throughout the area but as of yet can not be pinpointed.

The hand scanner reveals that the signal is coming from somewhere inside but cannot be any more precise.

T3dy notices a something out of place amidst a collection of rubble. Upon investigation he pulls a small black glove made from leather like fabric. The fingers of the glove are long and thin making them quite different from a human, lashunta or vesk hand. The stitching is durable and there is a metal ring at the gloves opening on the wrist side.

Perception DC 16:
The glove feels cushioned on both sides of the fingers
.

If perception passed then Life Science DC 16:
Most likely because what ever species this belongs to can bend their fingers in both directions

So to make this a little easier for the Play by Post we can treat this like the old school text based mud games. Each "Room" has a coordinate

You are currently standing in A1. The obvious exits are
North East to A2
East to A5
and South to A4

Male Human Nerd 10

Ok I forgot that I just changed anti virus, turned off my Firewall, it is the only thing I can think that might be blocking connection.

Male Human Nerd 10

I am officially on STAYCATION!!!woot. Now I can focus on the important things. Gaming and painting models.

Male Human Nerd 10

Upon investigation, the crevasse has several natural pathways there are not without danger but make traversing somewhat easier. Waverly produces a large cable and with the help of T3dy the party is able to descend safely to the bottom.

You stand at the mouth of a large cavern and you see the first clear signs of sentient habitation. There are clear steps cut into the rock leading down into the cavern.

The cavern opens up at the bottom of a set of stone steps to reveal a metal structure situated within the stone. Gaping holes from age or catastrophe pierce the walls to the south and east, revealing constructed chambers within. The rubble covers, and broken stalactites hang from the ceiling.

You have entered into zero light conditions. Thankfully I believe everyone has some version of low light or dark vision.

We have moved to the part of the story that requires the map. I have set everyone's character up. If you have any issues please let me know.

The password for each of your characters is just the fist three letters of your name all lower case. This is to prevent accidental moving of the wrong character as everyone can only move their own.

I hope this works lol

Male Human Nerd 10

Belta and Bonkers easily use the ships computers to locate the source of the signal. Using their telemetry, T3dy guides the Wanderstar into the atmosphere of Khyyros. The ship descends for several seconds, the shields easily dissipating the heat of the descent.

The ship eventually comes to rest on a solid ground in a field of tall wheat like grass. The temperature is mild and the systems sun is shinning.

It was a simple matter for Waverly to patch a small datapad into the the ships computer and create a portable "scanner" using the data that was collected previously. After collecting your belongings and leaving the ship, Waverly quickly locates the source of the signal and leads the group in the proper direction.

The party travels through the Plains at a comfortable pace and while there is no sign of civilization a herd local fauna can be seen in the distance kicking up large clouds of dust.

It is a matter of twenty minutes before you arrive at one of the planets large crevasses. The impromptu scanner indicates the signal is coming from the bottom.

Hey, Sorry for the slowdown. Tonight is day 5 of 12 hour overnight shifts and I am feeling tired and burnt out. I am drafting the update and I hope I get it posted before I go to work because I won't be able to there. Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop and thank you all for your patience.

Male Human Nerd 10

The remainder of the voyage is uneventful. The drift offering no further mysteries for exploration. The remaining days grind by with monotonous rhythm until finally the ship's engine whine in deceleration and the Wanderstar materialized back in real space.

The ships sensors indicate that the crew has arrived at their desired destination. A small system composed of three planets orbiting a yellow star. From the edge of the system where the ship translated back to real space it requires only a few hours to arrive in orbit around Khyyros.

The Wanderstar's long range sensors quickly determine the general location of the mysterious signal that Guidance sought you to investigate. The planet supports a breathable atmosphere and is teaming with both plant and animal life although no signs of civilization are apparent.

Physical Science DC 18:
Studying the data shows large crevasses that cross every landmass on the Planet. Geologically speaking they appear to be relatively newly created and likely caused by seismic events when the panet's tectonics plates shifted unexpectedly.

May I please have a DC 16 computer check to determine the exact location where the ship should land?

Male Human Nerd 10

Sorry folks, I meant to have your post out today but with it being the Canada Day/4th of July weekend (I live in a border town and work in tourism.) I find myself behind in my duties.

I will have something posted by night of the 3rd.

On the plus side, we are at the halfway point in the mission. It's all down hill from here.

Male Human Nerd 10

The shields begin to relax and the whining alarm ceased as T3dy moved the ship out of the Danger zone.

Bonkers and Waverly spend several hours pouring over the various sensor suites the ship is equipped with and manage to record a large amount of data. The analysts back at Absalom Station will surly have there hands full sorting through all of it but unfortunately the consensus aboard the ship is that none of the information is particularly relevant to the crews current mission on Khyyros.

Male Human Nerd 10

AS T3dy nudges the Wanderstar in the direction of the anomaly, Mega Kodrog sends out a burst transmission of a greeting. Bonkers quickly fires up the long range scanners. From the current distance they don't offer any insight.

The Wanderstar gently glides toward the orange glow. It splits the void in a simple line breaking the monotony of the surrounding darkness. When the ship gets close enough Bonkers' sensors begin to extract data. Whatever it is, it's hot. they seem to say. The readings come back at well over a thousand degrees Celsius.

As the ship moved even closer it appeared to be a bar of pure fire. it measured thousands of kilometers long in either direction but only feet in height. and the sensors could not penetrate the fire enough to establish a relative depth. Like waves breaking in the ocean large gouts of pure fire roiled across the "surface" of the bar. Saratur's keen eyes even caught a glimpse of what appeared to be glowing-white fish like creatures "swimming" and "Jumping" much like dolphins.

Eventually the ships shields begin to glow and the internal temperature increases to uncomfortable levels as the life support system is finding it difficult to disperse the heat. The ships computer cries out an alarm in warning that getting any closer would be a mistake.

Bonkers is able to sufficiently remodel the lab to suit his standards and adequately double as a medbay. The technology he keeps is pristine and well looked after. The Starfinder society seemed to spare no expense in that regard.

Belta kept busy moving from crewmember to crewmember keeping everyone sane with little social interactions which help build bridges with the other members of the society.

Waverly was naturally drawn to the engineering section. Here too the ship was in great condition. Since the engine was recalibrated it has been humming along perfectly, As long as it is supposed to hum that is.

T3dy hopped right into the pilot chair. The ship was big but nothing the android couldn’t handle. With expert skill and grace T3dy smoothly kept the ship running efficiently.

Several cycles passed uneventfully until one ship-day during an intense conversation among the crew Both Mega Kodrog and Saratur happened to look out separate viewports. They both saw a startling sight. In the distance an eerie orange glow broke the otherwise plain monotony of the drift. Like a beacon calling out in the darkness. From this distance it was impossible for either to tell what might be causing the mysterious glow.

Cakes nods to everyone. "Seriously. Thank you all for the help, it was a pleasure working with you." A tech flags Waverly and T3dy to follow them and within a few minutes the infra-red cough sensors were added to their armor.

Now that the Wanderstar is completely ready the crew board without any further fanfare. The ship is a medium explorer class vessel and the interior reflects this. The halls are wide enough to accommodate two people side by side and the ceilings are high enough to prevent a feeling of claustrophobia. There are three cargo bays that are mostly empty storing only a few pallets of provisions for the journey. There is a well maintained physical sciences lab should any of the crew have need.

There are six crew cabins all fairly similar in size and furnishings. Each offers a simple bunk, some method of storage a simple desk and chair and computer terminal. The lighting and temperature control are voice activated.

Originally I thought the ship was going to come with a crew but then it seemed cooler to just have it as party only. As the drift is weird, the duration of the journey is variable. How many days?: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 3, 4) = 23 Can you please give me a basic outline of what you are doing? For instance "Mr.Bla bla bla spends his time working second shift piloting" the more exposition you put in the better I love reading stories :)

AH well I am glad you noticed that. I put that in specifically. It is a clue about an up coming mystery that is very important to the mission. :)

With a nod of approval from Cakes the team splits up to preform their separate tasks.

Mega Krodog runs out of the hangar and into the busy Absalom street. He looks down at the data pad short cut that was provided by Cakes and begins to hustle following the route as outlined. Everything seems to be going well until the data pad instructs him to enter an alleyway with several large signs stating "Under Construction" Mega Krodog reaches the end of the ally and finds it blocked off by a wall that isn't indicated on the map.

While that is going on Belta contacts the Absalom Station flight control office. It takes several minutes but finally she gets through to a rather cranky sounding female. Belta can tell the Officer isn't too happy but after some expert negotiation on Belta's part the flight officer says "Alright, listen. I juggled a few things around and a made some room for you, I will transmit the time code and coordinates to Cakes and tell her she owes me one.

By now Mega Krodog has decided to backtrack to the street but since the "Short cut" is currently unavailable he sprints the whole way to the pickup taking the long route.

At the same time Bonkers and T3dy get to work on the Landing gear. The Engineering bay is full of top tier equipment as Cakes had said and it doesn't take long for them to get the gears ship shape. A quick diagnostic reveals a clean install and they are ready to go.

Mega Krodog finally arrives at the depot and he is met by an android in a shop uniform. The helpful android takes the order ticket from Mega Krodog and efficiently retrieves the order. Which is far heavier then Cakes had led him to believe. With a sigh Mega Krodog begins the arduous trek of return to the shop with the UPBs.

Waverly enters the cockpit and finds everything he needs to install the necessary updates. "Instruction manual is beside the data pack.Cakes called out in answer to his question. True to her word, Waverly found a data pad with all the instructions laid out step by step. It was a simple matter of following the list one through twenty-seven and before he knew it Waverly was done.

To make matters worse for Mega Krodog when he got about halfway back to Cake's place, he found that the construction area had grown, It was now blocking a whole five block corridor and there was no longer a direct route. With a grunt Mega Krodog gritted his teeth and continued to lug his burden.

Saratur found himself in the engine room tinkering with a small portion of the infinite cosmos. The power ebbed and flowed around him passing from one sci-magic relay to another. The work was precise and difficult but by all appearances seemed to be completed without issue.

When all the work is done everyone gathers around Cakes who seems to be in a much better mood then when you arrived. "Well I never thought it would work but we seemed to have nailed it. I am really grateful you guy saved my tail. Listen I got a couple of last seasons inferred sensor armor upgrades laying around. If any of you are interested It would take a minute to install. "

Around about now Mega Krodog bursts into the door. He is tired and sweaty and slightly out of breath. He deposits the UPBs on the ground in front of Cakes. The Ysoki looks confused for a moment and then says "Oh yeah, forgot about those. I didn't actually need them after all. Thank you though."

Ok I am going give time for everyone post an exit, confirm if you want to take cakes up on the sensor or not. Let me know if you need anything before launch. NEXT STOP SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
