T3Dy shoulders his laser rifle and takes point, heading out into the gloom.
Once again, he rotates through his various visible spectra as he moves forward.
"Stay alert. No telling what or who is in this darkened area."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 (low-light, darkvision 60)

The total darkness of the cavern lasts for barley an instant as each of the group members utilize their abilities either natural or otherwise to overcome the deficit.
You all take a few moments to orient yourself to your new surroundings. Inside the cavern is the remains of a building, obviously made by a sentient species. The cavernous itself has a ceiling height of 20 feet and the interior
rooms have a ceiling height of 12 feet. The interior walls appear to be made of steel. A low hum can be heard throughout the area but as of yet can not be pinpointed.
The hand scanner reveals that the signal is coming from somewhere inside but cannot be any more precise.
T3dy notices a something out of place amidst a collection of rubble. Upon investigation he pulls a small black glove made from leather like fabric. The fingers of the glove are long and thin making them quite different from a human, lashunta or vesk hand. The stitching is durable and there is a metal ring at the gloves opening on the wrist side.
So to make this a little easier for the Play by Post we can treat this like the old school text based mud games. Each "Room" has a coordinate
You are currently standing in A1. The obvious exits are
North East to A2
East to A5
and South to A4

Can see the map and move my icon.

Bonkers pulls out his rifle.
"OK, which way first?
Belta
|
The total darkness of the cavern lasts for-- Belta, for her it lasts, as she has no ability, natural or otherwise, to utilize to overcome the deficit.
"Can someone turn a flashlight on?"
Waverly Sayre
|
Waverly hits the lights on his armor. "How's that? Stick close to me."
Armor have comm units; comm units have terrible lights. I think the range is 15'.
Normally one of my PCs would have a flashlight and spare comm unit to lend you, but I didn't buy either for Waverly.
Saratur

"Cushioned on both sides? Hmm, that is unusuall" No Life Science here :(
He takes few steps towards North-East direction...
Cause, why not ;)
Bonkers123
|
Heh. Just noticed I typed physical science instead of life science above. That's what you get when you start a reply and then go stop two cats fighting. :)
Bonkers also tries to become one with the fleeing shadows.
stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Waverly Sayre
|
Waverly looks around and takes a few steps to the east. "Looks like an empty corridor to the east. " He moves to back up Mega, but stays close to Belta. "Ready when you are."
| SanityAWOL |
From Saratur's point of view
The cavern has collapsed partially into this wide room, greatly reducing its size. Rotting furniture strewn about looks like it might have once been comfortable. A slightly glowing technological cylinder stands in the center of the chamber, clearly once the room’s focal point. Doorways lead south and northeast, though the latter is partially blocked by stone.
From Mega Kodrog's Point of view
A row of ruined lockers line the eastern wall of this cramped room. A door leads southwest. The northwestern wall bears what may have been another door now completely demolished.
The Cylinder is emitting light and can clearly be seen. You should see the light on the map.
May I please have a Perception Check From Mega and anyone who headed south with him.
Saratur

Saratur looks into the space and looks back
"Ehh guys? Where are you going? Wait for me" a quick furry feet runs behind Mega

Bonkers looks at the glowing item, then at the rest of the group moving away from it. He twitches his whiskers and follows...
Belta
|
Belta shrugs at Waverly: "North, East, South... dat all be relative in space 'nyhow!
Belta be followin' you wherevah you go, mon."
| SanityAWOL |
The party all grouped up in the locker room, Mega and Saratur don't see anything particularly out of place with their rolls. Would any one else like to Roll Perception now that you are in the same room?EDIT it might be best to roll perception every time you get into a new room, you are looking for a signal after all. The DC I am looking for is 20
Other then that you are all in a basic locker room. for ease of play the door to the south is not locked. What do you want to do?

Belta tries looking over Waverly's shoulder, peering out as far as the light illuminates.
"Whadda we bein' a lookin' for, heh?"

While Bonkers and Belta area casually looking around the lockers for a signs of the mysterious signal, Belta spots a little bit of what looks like fabric sticking out of the bottom of one of the lockers. She approaches and sees a little stuffed toy. It appears to be an unknown alien species but otherwise resembles a typical child's toy.
other then that nothing really stands out.
The exits from here are SOUTH or back the way you came
Belta
|
"Looks like my cousin Zolda!", says Belta. "So, they like miners here? Nice helmet, good pick... I like d'ese people already."
Belta is ready to follow Waverly.
Saratur
|
Saratur gives a look to Belta
"Four eyes? Bat-like wings, I wonder if this is how the creatures that lived here, looked like."
Bonkers123
|
Bonkers looks up info on his database, seeing if he can match the basic look of the toy with any actual known creatures or beings.
life science: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
| SanityAWOL |
Bonkers search of the info reveal's nothing about what species this toy may represent, It would seem that the group has found themselves on something of a first contact scenario.
Bonkers does surmise that the toy does resemble a souvenir or possibly keepsake from the original inhabitants of the planet. Taken with the current surroundings it is easy to guess that this cave and building was probably some sort of tourist attraction, possibly somehow related to the caves themselves.

"I hope we not be a scarin' 'em off and puttin' 'em off of what the people in the Universe are! If we be their First Contact!"

"Maybe the signal was an ad? Like beware our cave systems, it will scare you to death! And out scientist took it for some serious emergency signal"
says Saratur as he begins to look around
"So where to now? Further south? " Map is down? Can't access it currently. I think there was a way to still travel south.
Waverly Sayre
|
Waverly cradles his rifle in the crook of one arm while he checks the hand scanner to see if it gives any better information.
"Let me see if I can get any more out of the scanner. Meanwhile let's head south."
Map inoperable for me too.
| SanityAWOL |
Crap Dang internet hiccups. Map should be back. I will move everyone into the south room and you can move yourself if you aren't happy with the position[ooc]
Cracked shelves line the room, with several more lying broken on the large markings on the floor show that at one time this was probably some sort of storage. Multiple piles of other debris have been pushed into the corners. Gaps in the wall lead west and south. A door exits to the east.
[ooc]Perception checks please. In this room I am looking for a DC 18 for a special treat.
Belta
|
Belta stumbles along behind Waverly, following him closely.
When in the room, with the old shelves, she tries to check things out as the source of light moves around.
The kicks a shelf on the floor--
Perception, 1 rank: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

"OUCH!"
Pouting, she stops looking around.

Swing and a miss. Ok well maybe next time. :) So from here we can keep going south/west through the cracks in the wall or through the door to the south.
Side note, we are very close to the end of the module. sorry about how long it is taking. I hope everyone is ok with the casual speed it shouldn't be too much longer now.
