Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

As the group arrives back in town, Salvianella slips off. Apparently the adventuring business was not for her. She tries her hardest to find the fastest carriage back home.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

I'll be the duergar if I get the enlarge power and all the psionic stuff from 3.5, lol.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella, in her alchemically-charged logic, decides to climb up the tree after the creature.

Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Sighhhh...

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Can I climb the tree?

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

So I'll try to not kill my own party members this time around.

Salvianella's eyes go wide as the draconic creature bursts from the snow, and her heart begins to pound loudly in her ears. She pulls a flask of a thick reddish-brown liquid from her bandolier and looks at it in apprehension. As Wildir falls to the monster and Trelk and Drew rush forward she makes up her mind and downs the liquid in a single pull.

Salvianella bends double as if nauseous and slowly pulls her short spear from its holster at her back. Her form begins to bulge pulling her fancy clothes taught at the seams. Her muscles swell and her skin tears in places. After a few agonizing seconds she stops growing and rights herself. Her blond hair has fallen from its perfectly fixed style and now hangs in front of burning red bloodshot eyes.

Move action to imbibe a dose of Strength mutagen. +4 Str and -2 for 10 mins. Move action to draw short spear.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Guess that makes my turn easy then, lol. It's a Con check, right?
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Sorry, it's the only worth a crap attack I have.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella shrieks and throws a vial at the creature.

Fire Bomb Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 fire damage, and DC 13 Reflex save from any adjacent of 3 splash fire damage.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

I'll wait for the monster to post my action.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Sounds good to me.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Phil, it seems I forgot to pick Sal's formulae for the day. I'll make them both CLW. Aaaand use one of them now.

Salvianella turns her nose up at the pitiful excuse for "treasure" that almost saw them killed. "Wonderful. Now we can all die rich." She mutters something unintelligible under her breath as she pulls a small vial of something semi-transparent and sparkly out of her bandolier of clinking potions. She empties it in one swift swig, and her wounds seem to melt away back into her previously pristine skin.

Cure Light Wounds extract: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Though it appears her curiosity is piqued by the chest, the cold has Slavianella in her mountain of furs looking thoroughly miserable and much like she'd rather be somewhere else.

"No one says we have to go through it now. We could take it back to town with us and examine it later. Can we get a move on. It's cold."

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella stretches as she wakes from the carriage. Her back cracks. "This is overrated. I don't know how some of you all do this." Before continuing on, Salvianella opens her pack and begins going over her formulas and preparing her chemicals.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella shrugs and moves towards the carriage.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella smiles and laughs with a sound betraying no humor whatsoever. "Yes," she says as she stands and steadies herself. "Perfectly fine. Nothing a little applied science cannot handle."

She dusts off her clothes and frowns at the accumulated dirt, blood, snow, and half-frozen necrotic flesh. And the blackened scorch marks. "Well this shall never come out," she mutters to herself. Seeing the condition of the rest of her "companions", she yells, "I for one am all for returning to town." Hope at returning to civilization drips from her every word.

Note, I'm personally all for camping here, but Sal would likely not be so excited about the prospect of sleeping near zombies chopped, stabbed, and singed or not.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella collapses to the ground as fear washes over her just before the zombie bifurcates on its way towards her. Relief floods her as adrenaline dumps out of her system. She sits in shock at what just happened.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella shrieks in terror as the undead monstrosity charges headlong towards her.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella Preps another bomb with speed. Anything to get that monstrosity away.

Fire Bomb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 vs. Touch.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 fire damage, and 4 fire damage to everyone adjacent to the zombie. DC 13 Ref for half.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Just so we're clear, the attack roll was for the zombie who takes the rolled damage. The reflex save was to avoid the 4 points of splash damage.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianeklla screams in terror at the sight of the walking dead. She swiftly reaches into her coat and withdraws two vials. She pours one into the other and then vice versa, and then shakes the concoction heartily before throwing it at the remaining zombie.

Fire Bomb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 vs. Touch
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 fire damage, and 4 fire damage to everyone adjacent to the zombie. DC 13 Ref for half.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella stands back, ready to let the obviously stronger dwarf pull out the spear.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella moans and complains about her great discomfort throughout the enitre trek, only silencing upon surveying the carnage of the scene before her. She bundles herself deeper into her furs and moves towards the carriage, her face a mask of shock and horror.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

"My thanks, er... Madame, but I already have proper clothes. I'll just need to change into my... other shoes. You didn't really think I'd come this far out from home in this dreadful weather without warm clothing, did you?" She laughs politely then turns to Vivialla.

"Just some extra furs if you please. I do think it is getting colder outside. Oh, and do you have anything in white. It really needs to go with my current outfit."

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Looking for extra furs (from Ultimate Equipment).

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

"Well then," Salvianella says, gulping and looking slightly unnerved. "I shall return to my room and... change clothes I suppose."

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella's eye twitches at the mercenary's tale and she appears pale. Her mind runs the length of the intricate warding markings her mother bound to her skin as a babe. To protect against witches...

"And we're to go fight these, yes?" she says with a hint of apprehension in her voice.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella nods and shakes all the peoples' hands as they come to thank her. As the dwarf and the bear speak to her she looks at them confusedly. She keeps trying to respond, but the councilwoman and crowd of people keep interrupting her. Eventually the crowd disperses leaving a very confused Salvianella standing there.

"Where are we going again?" she says barely loud enough to be heard as she follows behind the dangerous-looking types.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

This is just terrible. What have I gotten myself into, Salvianella thinks to herself as the woman on the podium drones on. About that time, the heel on her left shoe breaks sending her tumbling forward. She grins sheepishly as all heads turn to examine her. Why are they all looking at me?

"Hello," she says timidly, suddenly uncomfortable with all the backwoods attention on her person.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella, clearly not used to being told what to do, glares daggers at the woman as she leaves. The nerve talking to her like that. However, having already finished her drink and being generally curious as to the odd weather, Salvianella stands, checks her hair, and leaves. Outside, the cold her her like a wall, and she bundles deeper into her furs - a combination of mink, fox, and other assorted soft pelts of distinctly high quality that mark her out immediately as one of privilege. Bracing herself, she slowly begins to make her way towards the town square. Her movement making her appear drunk as she attempts to navigate the rough dirt road in heels more at home in the courts of the capital.

How do people live like this?

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Salvianella takes one final sip of her drink and savors it while trying to remember anything of note about Lady Argentea. Coming up with nothing she shrugs in her pile of furs and blankets. Must not have been very important, then. As she puts down her cup, her gaze goes out the window to the falling snow. She thinks back to her father's words. Not that I could go back home if I even wanted to at this point.

One last question. How long has this unusual weather been going on?

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Perhaps Father had been right, Salvianella thinks to herself as she sits in the inn bundled in mountains of fur. But no, she wouldn't admit to it. Spoiled he had called her. Spoiled! Well she'd show him. Let's just see how long he lasts without me. Salvianella sips at her beverage and enjoys the feeling of warmth as it flows through her body, eating away at the cold.

As she sits there, Salvianella overhears the locals discussing the abducted Lady. Glad that wasn't me.

What do I know about Lady Argentea? Knowledge (Nobility): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

I'm everything but geared up. (I've done everything but finalize my gear.)

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

You have to choose your traits from different types (e.g. Campaign, Combat, Social, etc...) unless DM-Phil rules otherwise.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

I think I'm going to go with Warded against Witchery. My mother was from the north. A superstitious woman, she made sure to place wards against evil magic upon me as a child.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

I got to flip through the People of the North book yesterday my FLGS, and I think that the book itself is meant to be taken as the Player's Guide. Or at least the last few pages anyway. I don't know whether one will be released as a free DL. I mean, the 1st adventure is now out.

Not true. I have a player playing a paladin in my home game with a 32 AC, DR2/Adamantine, and 290-something hp at 13th lvl. Anything shy of boss monsters have to threaten a critical just to hit him. And he can lay on hands himself just to troll me... Of course the monsters in turn usually just ignore him and go after the much squishier monk and ranger. But still.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

<--- Makes potions of Comprehend Language as well.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

DM-Phil, a question. A lot of GM's frown on this trait as cheese, but what are your thoughts on the Rich Parents trait? It changes your starting gold to 900. It would fit her background. I'm not especially attached to it, so don't be afraid to say no.

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Not to mention alchemists can generate copious amounts of healing potions. Speaking of which, here is my alchemist. Still need to write up her background, as well as buy her gear and choose her starting formulae. But this should give the general gist of it. She's a pampered Taldan noblewoman. Money, personal tutors, and lots of free time can lead one down interesting roads...

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Debating between it and alchemist. Seriously liking the idea of Ragechemist. What you all think?

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

Working on Shaward's stuff. Tried to work on it, but the Postmonster ate it twice... Either way, I thought it prudent to make sure you were okay with me playing a gunslinger before I devote too much time to working on him. I can keep his basic goals and personality the same if I need to change classes, so it's not going to kill me if you'd rather I didn't. Plus I know that it's a bit of a touchy class that people either love or hate and don't want anywhere near their games. But hey, I thought, 'Pirates have pistols, so why can't I?'

Female Half-elf Alchemist (Chirurgeon/Vivisectionist) 1

And here he is.
