The tatzlwyrm is clearly impacted by Trelck's attack, a moderate gash in it's side welling red blood into the white snow. Drew's attack, however, goes wide, leaving the serpentine creature no further harmed. It gives a high-pitched screech as it faces Trelck, attempting to simultaneously bite the dwarf and throw it's coils around him.
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Bite Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
The beast's fangs bite deep into Trelck's flesh, leaving a deep wound in the dwarf! The taste of blood seems to further incite the creature's bloodlust as it bites down, using it's teeth to hold the dwarf still as it tries to wrap it's serpentine body around him.
CMB (Grapple): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
The coils tighten around Trelck's body, clinging tightly to him, pinning his arms to his sides! The beast then immediately slithers to the tree it used to ambush the group from above, provoking a follow-up attack from Drew while it is focused on escaping with this new prey.
You get an AoO, Drew.
Drew Fallowfield
[arrgh..very sorry folks..the system has not be updating to tell me when postings have been made.[/ooc]
Drew reacts to the creature as it tries to slither past him.
Attack-Melee: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
not sure if I get my sneak attack damage on an AoO
DM-Phil
Drew's attack goes wide, missing the tatzlwyrm by a fair margin, leaving it free to slither to the base of the tree, where it turns to hiss loudly at the remaining party members.
Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Though visibly shaken by Ykatarina's spell, the creature manages to maintain control of it's fear well enough to stop from simply dropping Trelck from it's coils and running. That's it for the wyrm. Salvi draws her spear and imbibes a mutagen, Wildir is still unconscious, so we're back to the top. Trelck and Drew, you're up!

Trelck gasps as the creature tries to carry him away, Let go o me you snow lizard!
CMB!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Flailing aimlessly in the wyrm's clutches Trelck fails to find anything to push against or slip away from that isn't more muscle holding him at bay.
A knee to hit or an elbow to strike if you please snow lizard.

Drew's blade bites into the flesh of your foe, causing it to yelp from the sudden pain. However, it seems only to re-double it's efforts, coils reflexively tightening around Trelck. The dwarf fails to extricate himself from the wyrm's body, and it immediately moves to climb up the tree it is at the base of, quickly slithering nearly 30 feet up, looking down at the others and roaring it's fury.
The tatzlwyrm takes a double-move to get 30 feet up the tree. Drew's attack hit. Salvi's up, followed by Ykatarina.

Trelck struggles against his confinement, trying to beat at the creature to release him.
CMB!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Trelck yells as his efforts seem in vain.
Yah I was a Forgotten Realms specialty cleric in Ravenloft the last time I played Skills and Powers. It was nuts and I sort of miss it. I am totally building Wildir's brother, the Invulnerable Rager when we re-build our group. :-)

The tatzlwyrm, having reached as high as it can safely climb without risking the tree breaking, looks at the dwarf held in it's coils and hisses hungrily before simply loosening it's grip, dropping Trelck to the ground.
Falling Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4) = 11
After dropping Trelck, the wyrm moves back down the tree, closing to within ten feet of the group, though it remains in the tree. It is clearly building up it's energy for another charge forward into your ranks.
Trelck, you take 11 points of falling damage and we're back around to the ladies.
I agree that you guys have been rolling ridiculously low numbers in this fight. Not just low, but ridiculously low. After going back through the fight, from beginning to end including the part we've re-done, the statistical breakdown is that 55% of the party's rolls have been no higher than a 4.
DM-Phil
Clearly unhappy with the state of things, though realizing that the tatzlwyrm is now within striking distance of her shortspear, Salvianella rears back, not considering the loss of her weapon any big drawback at this point, throwing the projectile as hard as she can towards the wyrm.
Salvianella's attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18
Salvianella's damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
Salvi's spear flies through the air with great speed, and before the tatzlwyrm can react, it is skewered just below it's head! It gives a loud shriek of pain and suddenly looks around itself, clearly weakened and panicked by the blow from the spear, all thought of continuing the fight lost. It now seems interested in nothing more than running away as quickly as it can.
Drew and Trelck, y'all are up!
DM-Phil
As if Salvianella's shortspear painted a bullseye on the wyrm's side, Drew's arrow easily finds a target, piercing the wyrm's throat as it attempts another cry of alarm and pain.
The blow dealt, it's body goes limp, pinned to the tree by the shortspear and the arrow.
Congratulations! You're off the clock!
DM-Phil
Wildir is able to skin the tatzlwyrm successfully, salvaging the length of it's hide as well as the head for a rather impressive mounting job, should he wish it done. When Wildir picks up the sword, he is immediately strike by the balance of it. While perhaps not as skilled a warrior as others, it is clear that the weapon is of a superior quality. Masterwork longsword.
Your return to Heldren is uneventful; no adversaries appear to assault you of any kind. You find that the weather has grown noticeably colder since you left, as if the deep winter from somewhere within the Border Wood is slowly expanding outward to engulf the village.
Wildir
yay, we survived! wait, we have to go back?
Wildir returns to town beaten and sore. Leaving the resale of the scavenged arms to the others, he drops off his tatzl hide for processing, and dens up somewhere somewhat warm to sleep it off. He doesn't reappear until two days later.
hp:1 + sleep and 2 clw: 1 + 1d8 + 1 ⇒ 1 + (5) + 1 = 7+1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
full up by second day.

Trelck spends his looking to see if any other new arrivals in town (or unmentioned locals) might have the muscle for this job. Convinced that they need the time to rest, the dwarf still wants to be sure to move out asap to get on the trail of the kidnappers. Obviously the dangers of this situations were greater than even he had anticipated.
Ykatarina Yframovitcha Ystrova
Ykaterina looks around at the others and her face is bleak.."I am, it seems, not the best person to be doing this.I feel I would be best used helping top organise things here in the village."
Nothing can sway the young witch from her stated course.
Sondergang Wulfsson
Sondergang sits in the warmth of the bar room nursing a local ale..not bad for humans but nothing to compare with the stuff his own people make.
He loks up in interest as Trelck makes a call for aid in investigating the strange weather..
"Aye Lad, Ah'll join ye.Jist wait till ah finish suppin' mah pint"

The grizzled smith-priest downs his drink in a long swallow wipes his lips with the back of his hand sets the tankard down and waves Trelck over "

Trelck brightens at the prospect of another dwarf, Aye, yes a cleric of our fine and true god would be just the thing to calm the nerves of my youthful companions and put the hammer and axe to the strange things we have already seen! Undead as you say as well as mighty creatures of ill temper and we have heard whispers of fey too.
DM-Phil
The weather back in Heldren has improved none; if anything, it feels even colder than it felt when you left. Several of the townspeople notice Salvianella leaving and you hear murmurs of worry from them, afraid that no one will be able to figure out what is going on. Farmers worry about losing their crops, ranchers worry about their animals freezing to death. The entire town seems deeply concerned, at the very least, with everything that's happening to the normally quiet community.
When everyone is ready to head back out, let me know and I'll advance.
