Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

"Hmm. I didn't know they locked this place down." He sighs before turning around to the others, "The owner of this place is somewhat of an acquaintance of mine. He was arrested during the Night of Ashes. He'd be quite fine with supporting those that went against Thrune and helped the people."

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Sagar keeps his blade ready to strike any of the thugs while the other carry his wounded contact away.

Once they are in the clear and Dayne mentions looking for a hiding place Sagar nods, "I know a spot. Follow me."

Once all are in the clear Sagar leads them to an empty Empty Quiver.

Know: Local: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

No issue for me personally but Sagar might have at some point. Not now though, combat is a very suitable moment for cursing.

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Seeing the man being assaulted by four thugs and then seeing the one glove, Sagar does not hesitate. "We have to save that man."

He then rushes of, blade drawn.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Standard (surprise) Charge a thug (-2 on AC for me)
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 8
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Extra Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6
14 damage total

When the bard bursts out in some elaborate song venerating a dead god Sagar rolls his eyes, "Let's leave the moron. All sensible people should retreat."

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

"Someone put a sock in that idiot!"

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Seeing Dayne, Sagar smiles, "I was supposed to meet someone here but I think it's safe to say they left. I do think we should follow their example once we have bought some time for all bystanders to flee."

With that Sagar takes a slightly more defensive posture before lashing out against the thug hurt by the bald man.

Standard Attack wounded thug using Combat Expertise for +1 AC, no penalty
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Also forgot the inspire so the crit does 14
How are the thugs around Sagar looking now? He still has to act but I have no idea if there are any within reach remaining.

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Sagar lashes out at the two standing up. While he manages to score a large hit on one of them it put him off balance for the other target.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Crit Damage: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 4) = 12
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 3

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Do both provoke from me? If so I get an AoO on both as I have 2

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Seeing Dayne's post makes me realise I completely forgot about using my Combat Expertise, especially since I take no penalty with it (or actually my penalty gets reduced by 1).

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Sagar sighed. He expected this but it still was a shame. He just hoped the dottari would simply protect Barzillai and only the thugs actually attacked people. That said, those thugs needed to be removed.

He headed for the closest of the Thrune loyalist's, drawing his large blade as he made his way through the crowd. Once there he lashes out.

Move Move to closest thug while drawing curve blade
Standard Attack thug
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Sagar probably wouldn't be to close to the others as he was out in the crowd looking for his contact.

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Sagar sighs as he sees what's going on. Odds were the manure thrower was one of those thugs and all of this was some sick scheme.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

As Thrune spoke Sagar's eyes shifted from his contact to the present dottari He suspected this was a ploy, an excuse for Thrune to break up this riot. Probably violently.

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Sagar simply shakes his head as some people start shouting about some inconsequential nonsense. Tea? The color of clothing? How did any of that measure up to the murders that had been committed? Why were these people wasting everyone's time?

He sighed once more and continued looking for his contact. These people did not matter.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Merry Christmas all!

If you don't do Christmas, Merry Monday!

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

As Sagar looks around the park he pays particular attention to the gathered dottari. His hope to find a friendly face among his ex-colleagues proves to be idle as all he sees are Thrune cronies and glory hounds. All sensible guards must have been sent on patrols far away from here, similar to what had done during the Night of Ashes.

Instead of dwelling on that Sagar chose to focus on finding his contact. Human male. Gloves on right hand, none on left. Sagar walked through the crowd checking hands. Hells, he had even chosen to mirror his contact's signature with his own spiked gauntlet.

I assume trying to spot the contact is another perception?
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Hmm, what do I get for rolling two 4s?

Dayne Garrion wrote:

oooh. What if Dayne is hiding a crush on Sagars sister? Like he's seen her work and tried to talk to her about metalworking stuff but he just hasn't had the courage to make a move. (plus that kinda gets Jego the matchmaker invested too)

The thing about Dayne being a smith is that he isn't actually very good. He can do the basics, nails, horseshoes, low quality weapons and armor, etc. Even a spiked chain on a good day. Enough to get by, but he just hasn't broken through to being the Smith his father was. (inner conflict yo!)

Sagar could end up being the protective brother who doesn't think anyone is worthy enough for is sister. or he could be oblivious and just know of Dayne as an acquaintance.

That should work out just fine.

As for Sagar's stance, I'd see him as neither of those. Instead he'd be rather amused by the whole thing. He knows his sister is a tough one and can fend for herself.

Sagar is more likely to take Dayne out for a drink after his sister frustrated another of Dayne's attempts to hit on her.

In addition he probably would try to help Dayne improve his skill in making weaponry. Sagar is quite good at that, though his blades aren't as pretty as those his sister makes.

Male Half Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Another link, though not necessarily for attending the protest, could be that Dayne is a friend of Sagar's sister, who is a silversmith and a maker of decorative/ceremonial blades. Since Sagar and his sister are quite close Dayne and Sagar could at least know each other that way.

We're also still missing one person I think, Sebastian Sarini.

Sagar is meeting a contact.

Hello all, Sagar Faraux reporting in.

In short, Sagar is a Half Elven Lore Warden Fighter with a finesse build who will be using Elven Battle Style so will end up with Int to damage on his melee weapons. I'm also thinking of toying a bit with weapon modifications from Adventurer's Armory 2.

He is a first generation Half Elf. His mother came from House Tanessen but was disowned when she became pregnant with an Elf's kid. The way I see it she was either the sister or the aunt of the current lord Tanessen as I have no idea how old the man is.
She passed away several years ago.
As for his father, he came to the city decades ago in search of his sister who apparently had something to do with the previous rebellion. This is all my character knows.
The thing in the spoiler below may contain some spoilers for the AP as it's based on information from the Adventurer's Guide bit on the Silver Ravens, which is from after this AP.

For GM:
In my mind his aunt is actually Jackdaw, the leader of the first Silver Ravens. Sagar would have no idea of this nor would Jackdaw know she has a half elven nephew (and niece).
If this is too much the aunt would just be a generic elf.

Sagar also has a sister who lives in Kintargo and works as a silver smith.
