So I went to buy my PaizoCon 2020 tickets, and my cart told me I had already purchased them. I did not have any e-tickets showing up, and I didn’t recall having bought the tickets yet, so I looked for the order. It’s Order 9106129 from November 26, and it’s stuck at pending. I would like to buy the tickets, if I could. Let me know if I need to do anything. Thank you!

The first two scenarios of Fangwood Thieves are being revealed/released at PaizoCon. How soon after PaizoCon will we be able to run these scenarios in stores. (I’m looking to re-start PACS at a store shortly after PaizoCon and would love to be able to run out of Core.)

Question about this: Is the expectation that all teams will play all levels, or only the teams that advance?

Hey, Erasmus’s +21 static to combat checks was totally reasonable. ;-)

Looking forward to the new game.

This question actually relates to nature, religion, and arcana as well, but I’m focusing on occultism as an example.

Occultism Skill wrote:
If you are an occult spellcaster, you can gain access to a new occult spell from someone who knows that spell or from magical writing like a spellbook or scroll.

I am particularly noting that this does not say “prepared” caster, and there are no prepared casters of occultism at this point anyway.

Does this mean that, say, bards can add spells to their repertoire just by making an occultism check?

Hi! I was wondering if I could switch my pre-order for the Pathfinder Playtest to pick it up at GenCon. I tried to switch it on my order page but didn't see a link where I could do so.

Thanks!

This is a thought that’s been floating around my head for a few weeks, and recent events have made me decide that it’s a thought worth being made public.

Paizo has an award that is given out to their Volunteer of the Year at PaizoCon every year, and I think it’s great that they acknowledge their volunteer community this way. A lot of volunteers put a lot of effort into making the Paizo community the largely positive place that it is, and this deserves recognition.

What I would like to see is some kind of award that specifically calls out and recognizes women and minority gamers who have made large contributions to the Pathfinder community. We are all (or should be) aware that women and minorities face barriers to entry and advancement in the hobby. It’s not uncommon for me when I meet a new woman gamer for one of our first conversations to be about our shared adversity. I don’t know a single woman gamer who doesn’t have at least one story of someone treating her badly. I don’t know many non-white gamers at all, and I’m an active member of the Baltimore PFS community.

I can think of a number of women who are prominent on the boards and in the PFS community who I would like to see recognized for their efforts. I would like to see other minorities recognized in similar ways.

As a friend recently pointed out to me, the hobby is changing. There are more women and minorities involved in gaming than than there ever have been before. Those who stick with it bear the emotional costs of the change, but without them, it can’t happen at all.

I GM quite a bit, a lot more than I play. One of the first things any GM is taught is that the most important thing is that the players have fun, so every GM I know worries about it. People also talk about the game should be fun for GMs. Yet I’ve never seen this connected to the idea of the players working to make sure a GM has a good time. In fact, in games I play, I rarely think about whether the GM is having fun.

So do you, as players, try to make sure your GM has a good time? Is this something we as players should worry about?

I got a notice that my products shipped on October 6, but my box never arrived. I tried to give it a little extra time for the holiday, but I'm pretty sure at this point that it got lost somewhere. :-/

So, if you fire a missile and it does not hit on the first round, it needs to make another check to try to hit/follow the enemy ship on the next round. My question is, does this second check take up the gunner's action for the round? Or can the gunner take another action?

Silver Crusade

Can you please cancel my Pathfinder Campaign Setting subscription? I want to keep all my other subs intact. Thanks!

Can I double my class deck subscription so that I get two copies of the class deck each month?

Thanks!

How are people feeling about this campaign now? I'm still excited to run it, though I have some trepidation about whether the underwater bits will get frustrating.

Silver Crusade

It looks like the PFS GM scenario count is counting card games again. I definitely have not run 300+ PFS scenarios.

Can you please cancel my Pathfinder Battles subscription? Much as I love the minis, my budget has taken a bludgeoning. I would like to keep my other subscriptions intact.

Salim has a power that states "When you defeat a monster on your turn, you may shuffle a random card from your discard pile into your deck." This does not pose a problem for me under normal circumstances, but I'm concerned about how it interacts with henchman closing powers, which we know must happen immediately after defeating. Does that mean that if I want to close my location, I can't shuffle a card from my discard pile into my deck? Or does "when you defeat" happen before "if defeated"?

So I'm pretty sure the answer to this is "No," but I was not 100% sure, so I thought I'd ask.

Say I'm fighting a Vanth Psychopomp. Before I act, I suffer a scourge. And lo and behold, I pull a Curse of Withering. Well, that's definitely going to affect my check. Can someone play a Remove Curse to get rid of my curse a la using Blessing of the Ascension to get a mythic token, or is it more like un-errata'd Rage?

I accidentally set this to ship to my old address. Can you have it ship to my billing address instead? Thanks, and I'm sorry.

Someone posted a similar thread on the RPG side, and I thought it could use an echo over here. In honor of Thanksgiving, I'd like to thank Paizo and Lone Shark for making such a great game. I've made a lot of friends through PACG, and it introduced me to a whole world of cooperative games. So thanks!

First off, I've now played through the B scenarios twice as Alahazra, and I think triggers are kind of fun. Unless they undo my scouting entirely. Then they are Asmodeus incarnate.

Also, is it just me, or are the pictures in this blog not working?

My making of characters from my Hell's Rebels campaign continues! Now up, we have TWF slayer. (I know, I know. Zadim is also a TWF slayer. But Aurelia uses swords!) Since Aurelia's largely a combat monster, I had a difficult time thinking up interesting powers for her. I let her use armors to explore to signify her running headlong into rooms without checking for things like traps or monsters first. I also definitely borrowed heavily from other fight-y types. Given my friend's reaction to this character, I think I might have made her tooo good. Thoughts?

Aurelia

Female Human Slayer

Aurelia has one talent in life: killing monsters. She joined the city guard of Kintargo confident that her skill with her twin swords would make up for her inability to get along with people or follow orders. For the most part it has, but Aurelia’s learning that not all monsters have claws and fangs, and some even claim to be on her side.

I've been trying my hand at making PACG characters of late, and my latest (okay, second) creation is my start of turning all the characters in the Hell's Rebels game I'm running into card game characters. I started with the investigator with a level in inspired blade swashbuckler because I had the best ideas what to do with him. His character description has a very minor spoiler for Hell's Rebels, so be warned. Any thoughts or input are welcome.

Percy

Male Elf Investigator

Some may call Percilel a Forlorn elf, but he’s always had too much natural joie de vivre to take such a label seriously. His Pathfinder parents dragged him all over the Inner Sea region, but Percy, as the humans call him, decided to settle in the Silver City of Kintargo. He’s found his place teaching half-elf girls languages and etiquette so that they can have the skills they need to survive… as spies.

MM Alahazra has the power "When you play a card that has the Fire ([] or Poison) and Attack traits on any check, add 1d8." My question is, does this apply to her check to recharge? My gut says no, but it IS a separate power on the card. Given recent discussion on the definition of "playing," it seemed somewhat nebulous. Thoughts?

Silver Crusade 4/5 ***

The baykoks in scenario 2-6A have a bya power that requires every other character to make a wisdom 9 check, or they may not play cards or use powers for the rest of the encounter. I don't remember the exact wording, but the important part was that it was for the encounter.

Now, the baykoks allow you to attempt a location close if you defeat them. A question that came up was whether the location close was part of the encounter and thus disallowed others from playing cards. I said it was still part of the encounter, but Rebel thought it was not.

Other thoughts?

My subscriptions shipped this month, and I had sidecarted Planes of Power. (I have since resubscribed to campaign settings because all the upcoming ones are so awesome, but I was unsubbed for this month.) Planes of Power was listed on my authorization, but it did not ship with my other products. Should it have, or will it come sometime closer to street date?

Silver Crusade

Overeager question time:

The release on Mummy's Mask is now early October 2016. Now, since I want it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, does this mean it will likely be in stores before it ships to subscribers? This will influence whether I choose to keep my sub for the base set or drop it and re-sub with the character add-on deck.

Silver Crusade

My payment method was declined because I had an old address associated with my credit card. I tried to change the payment method to the card I now have on file with the correct address, but I'm not sure if that worked because I ran into a glitch. Do I currently need to do anything with this order?

Silver Crusade

Now that Alahazra is Tier 5, I want to clarify a thing before she gets her first 5 item.

CD Alahazra wrote:
When you examine 1 or more cards from a character or location deck, you may examine an additional card.
Blindfold of the Night Sky wrote:
Bury this card to examine the top card of each location deck.

Now, the way I read it, each examination of a location deck triggers Alahazra's "When" separately, so she gets to examine the top two cards of every location deck. But. I could also see the examinations collectively being a single action, so she only gets to examine 2 cards on one of the decks.

Thoughts?

So... Since the PFS RPG now has a subscription to scenarios, is there any chance of us getting one for PFS ACG?

Silver Crusade

In the latest iteration of our PACG home game, Rebel Song and I have decided that we must all play characters that are the opposite of who we usually play. So as a diehard divine caster---either a close-to-pure caster like Alahazra or Maznar or a fighty divine like CD Kyra or Seelah---I had to pick someone who had the divine skill nowhere in their stat block. I also considered a high dex character, but Ezren won me over with his complete lack of blessings. Not having blessings is craziness, and thus I must embrace it.

But my question now is, Which Ezren do I play? There are 2x2 available now, and they are all similar, yet different. What do people think?

Silver Crusade 4/5 ***

I have read over much of this adventure and have concluded that the dev team hates those of us with d4 dex and wants us to suffer.*

Scenario 2-3C makes me cry a little on the inside.

The Shardra unlock is cool, though.

*In retrospect, we maybe shouldn't all have chosen characters with d4 or d6 dex.

Unsure if people are aware, but Broken Token came out with their 3rd iteration of the PACG organizer recently. I assembled mine last night and am predominantly pleased with it over the previous iteration. It's gota nice wave theme that fits nicely with the S&S set I'm sleeving.

It's a tighter fit than the last version, which solves the biggest problem I had with the last one---that the alleys ended up too wide for the dividers. It was, in fact, so tight that I could not get one of the sides on. But that ended up fine because the dividers still fit tightly.

The big selling point they've added is that you can trim off the edges to fit a smaller box, if you wish. This is not a problem I have had, but if anyone else has, know that this issue has been solved as well.

Silver Crusade

Oooh. I am very excited that the Mummy's Mask team likes weird armors, because after playing Seelah, I'm a huge fan of armor. Pauldrons of Unflinching Fortitude are probably my current favorite, but I'm excited to have my mind changed.

So... I inadvertently started a thread derail in the Breaking the Bones of Hell GM thread. (My first comment was on topic, I swear!) But I wanted to open up a thread for people to talk about asexuality if they wanted to.

For those unaware, asexuality is a sexual orientation that approximately 1% of the population identifies as. An asexual person, or ace, is most easily defined as "someone who does not experience sexual attraction." It can include a spectrum of people including but not limited to demisexuals (people who only experience sexual attraction with someone they have an emotional connection to) and gray-asexuals (people who rarely experience sexual attraction.
