Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
I've made a booboo and forgot to mail my character sheet with me now that I'm at my parent's place for Christmas. I'll rebuild him quickly and try to post here. Might not post much, my laptop is pretty crappy and slow as hell, so I'm not a big fan of using it.
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Masterwork rapier might not be useful right now, but it will be once you advance in levels. At level 5 you can add special qualities to the weapon, but it needs to be magical first. Which can only be done if it's masterwork. But yeah, a magus usually has enough points to make it +1 in every fight and do other stuff as well. Finally made up my mind about what my character's going to be. It's an Oracle with the Metal mystery and the Tongues curse. I'll start speaking Celestial when I'm under stress, and I can't understand any other language. Which might be a problem. >_>
Dance of the Blades (Ex): Your base speed increases by 10 feet. At 7th level, you gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls with a metal weapon in any round in which you move at least 10 feet. This bonus increases by +1 at 11th level, and every four levels thereafter. At 11th level, as a move action, you can maneuver your weapon to create a shield of whirling steel around yourself until the start of your next turn; non-incorporeal melee and ranged attacks against you have a 20% miss chance while the shield is active. You must be wielding a metal weapon to use this ability. Iron Weapon (Su): You can create a melee simple or martial weapon that lasts for 1 minute for every oracle level you possess. This weapon is appropriate for your size and entirely made of metal (even if it would normally include non-metal parts, such as a spear's shaft) but functions as if it were a normal weapon of its type. You are considered proficient with this weapon. The weapon disappears after 1 round if it leaves your grasp. At 3rd level, the blade is made of cold iron. At 7th level, 15th level, and 19th level, the blade gains a +1 enhancement bonus. At 11th level, the blade is made of adamantine. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. Steel Scarf (Su): As a swift action, you can harden a scarf, sleeve, cloak, or other piece of your clothing into something as hard as steel that stretches out to be up to 30 feet long. You can then strike outward with it as if it were a weapon making a melee attack. For the purpose of this ability, you are proficient with this weapon. You can use the weapon to perform combat maneuvers. Make a melee attack roll against a creature within 30 feet; you may use Weapon Finesse with this attack. If you hit, the weapon deals 1d8 points of slashing damage + 1 point for every two oracle levels you possess. After this attack, the clothing returns to its normal length and hardness. You do not threaten an area with this weapon and cannot use it to make attacks of opportunity. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.

The magical items on the sheet are ones available for you to buy in addition to what you fame allows you. Fame is sort of a restriction on which magical gear you can buy, so players don't immediately buy the 10.000 gold items when they can (generally, it's divided pretty well. If you want something expensive, by the time you have the gold for it, you usually have the fame for it as well. It's to prevent power level from rising beyond expected limits.). But any item found on a sheet is immediately available for purchase, provided you have the gold. The other two boons can indeed apply to each character you have played this scenario with. Wayfinders aren't really useful to upgrade. They give novelty powers, but aren't really must-haves. A friend made a list of possible upgrades, found here and here. All of these enhancements cost prestige points (which most people like to keep, as it's often used to raise you when you die, or are spent on wands) and they're not really all that useful, so a standard one is oftentimes good enough.

Victory pose! Despite much pleading to stay behind to keep observing the Gillmen, and even threatening to chain himself to a stalagmite, Raziq finally gives in and returns back to Absalom. He immediately spends all his money on a new expedition for more research into his new book. Sadly, his book never really took off and Raziq ends up just as poor as he was before. He's been eyeing the bounty board at the Grand Lodge a lot lately, hoping to find another quick source of money... Congrats, everyone! Hope you all had fun, I certainly did.

Let's see how long it takes for me to get on land. I effectively have a -1 on Swim checks, and I believe I should aim for the 15 area. Assuming one check per round: Swim check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Raziq gets on land a few rounds later, then rejoins the party, looking like a drowned cat. "Bah, humbug, that fellow caught me off guard. I'm not very athletic, I must admit, but that creek looks much easier to cross than it actually is. That's it, I've found material for my new book! 'Dangerous Creeks and Where to Find Them!' That rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it? I'm going to be rich!" "Oh, hello, Theodore. Did you have fun? Seems like you enjoyed digging into that fiend, judging by your blood-spattered plumage." And with that, Theodore returns home. Lasts for a minute, I think that about covers it. "So, chaps, that was a close call, I dare say! Let's hope our journey back is less eventful." I also have a Cure Light spell left, if anyone needs.
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Woop, since I have the Augment Summoning feat, Theodore has 4 extra CON, and as a result, 7 HP. Theodore lives!
Swim check: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 3 - 4 = 6 Nooope. I guess I'll see you guys downstream. Meanwhile, Theodore is still attacking the minotaur. Beak attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Would've provoked from the Eagle as well, so here it goes. Put him on the map as well. Bite provoke: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Theodore starts his attack routine again. Bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Raziq then backtracks some more and tries to jump across the stream. Drawn the route I intend to take. Acrobatics DC 10 to jump it. +1 form DEX, -3 from armour.
Raziq goes swimming, I fear. Meanwhile, Theodore is pretty good with his claws.
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
The Hoaxer archetype doesn't say anything about it needing to be in a language the target understands. It would make sense to, but as it works per the spell Beguiling Gift, it's a mind-affecting spell, so the sales pitch could be interpreted as being just flavour. But yeah, it's badly written and both interpretations are viable. I guess it depends on GM interpretation. Also, monstrous humanoids are Knowledge Nature, not Local. Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Raziq sees the giant advancing and decided to backtrack a bit, as he does not like being stuck on the log with no means of escape. "I'll jump over next round, I promise! For now, I'll conjure up some more air support! Theodore, help them out!" Last use of Servitor, another Celestial eagle. Smite bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Wow. I mean, just look at this.
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
"Don't worry Janira, we're here to help!" Raziq moves forward, encumbered by his armour. Also, I seem to have caught the funk that felled you and Therry, my throat's been messed up the last day or so and I'm sniffling constantly. I hope it breaks tomorrow, so I'm more or less okay to play again on Wednesday.
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
I did one more damage because I did not count the performance, but I'll count it for this round's damage, to balance it out. Raziq, currently splattered with chunks of goo from striking across the goo's surface, yells out at the blob, punctuating every word with a strike of his warhammer:
Two-handed attack roll, with cover: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Raziq looks puzzled at the wand. "Burning Hands? A spell I haven't quite mastered, I must admit. It seems like a useful thing to know, I shall research it posthaste when I'm back home." He takes the wand and holds it out to Araklifest. If I have any actions left, I'll boop the cube once more. I'll put it in spoiler tags, just in case. Also, not sure if Gorrec's performance still continues, so add one if that's the case. Possible attack roll: One-handed warhammer attack, cube has cover: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Possible damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
"Oh, heavens, such foul creatures to ambush us in these cramped corridors! There's barely any room to maneuver! Here, chew on this, instead!" Raziq focuses on his whistle again and a new eagle appears out of thin air, attacking the big blob. I can do this one more time. Bite attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Performance included. Stats for the eagle are AC 14, touch 13, flat-footed 12, 7 HP.
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Wow, max damage on that mite, too. I think I made pâté out of it.
Attack of opportunity?: Attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Nevermind. >_>
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Raziq trudges through the river and comes to a halt just before the other side. "They've unleashed their magic on us. I guess it's safe to assume they're hostile?" Attack roll versus upper mite (non-cold iron): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
"Nothing to worry about, they're just tiny chaps, the butt of many jokes in the Fey world. Try to hit them with cold iron weapons if you can, though. The fact that they've drawn weapons on us probably means they're not inclined to talk, but I can try." In Sylvan:
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Raziq can't contain himself with excitement and rushes towards the pool. "Dear fellow, would you mind if I were to stay here for a while and observe your prayers? I would be delighted to share such knowledge with the academic world. I promise I won't put anything in my book that you don't agree to and credit you properly, of course."
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
The eagle nuzzles Raziq for a bit as he scratches his head, then flies away again. "Such a lovely creature. Curious to find him this deep inside a cave. I must find him again later to examine his habitat. Meanwhile, is anyone else in need of healing?" I'm hit for 6. Do we dare risk one take-5 of the wand, or just use two charges? Again, this is a fresh character, don't really have the funds for my own healing yet. >_>
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
Raziq exhales in relief. "Now that we're out of immediate danger, let's call for the local fauna's aid!" Raziq produces a silver whistle from a pocket and blows a shrill note on it. Suddenly, a Celestial eagle appears from around the corner and attacks Red (and smiting).
Bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
"Phew, with that crisis over, I'd better make myself scarce! Buggers are thirsty for blood!" Full retreat back into the cave to allow everyone to attack. Also, 5% miss chance because of my Distortion ability. He'll probably make it, but you never know. High is good for him (so, 6+). Miss chance, high is good for opponent: 1d100 ⇒ 27
Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)
"Oh, poor fellow! Don't worry, I've got your back!" Raziq moves forward and casts Cure Light Wounds on Rico. 1 spell left for today. Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Whelp. ._. At least you're stable. EDIT: Or would the rest of us prefer I use Stabilize? It won't heal Rico, but it'll allow the skellies to come to us. Right now I'm the one clogging the passageway, and my AC isn't too great, either.
