Radi shouts at Ohrmizd shaking in rage. "What you say makes no sense. But it is in vain to talk reason to your kind. You can't even quote your own goddess scripture right. It's 'From the remorseless evil of the undead and fiends to the cruelties born in the hearts of mortals.', but that doesn't fit your agenda as I'm no fiend, so you leave it out." Ohrmizd: The first part iabout making no sense is not true. Sense Motive DC13: The guy is shitting his pants for fear of dying. ![]()
![]() "I asked you nothing. You came to me offering help. If you changed your mind, and think I don't deserve to be helped, move on and leave me be." "What bad shall happen to me? What you accuse me of is not telling the truth. What is the punishment Erastil and Sarenrae would hand out for that? Tell me! If this gets bad for me then you are bigger frauds than I am!" ![]()
![]() "It's not that easy. The stuff that was stolen might be overall at thousand gold. My cost that is. The profit I'd expect from that would be 1500 gold if I'm lucky or 1200 gold if someone was faster selling this kind of stuff in Katapesh. I travel to Osirion and back in about three month. To be safe I'd have to hire at least four experienced guards. That would cost me at least 2 gold a day, plus feeding them. Which would cost me around 250 gold." "So best case it halves my profit, worst case it would lead to a net loss. I always was lucky in regards to bandits, but this time my luck ran out. I should have waited for a group of merchants to travel that direction. That would have been safer." ![]()
![]() After this embarrassing situation the rest of the travel to Katapesh has no more unpleasant surprises. Radi has to suffer through Aithaloessa's continuous inquiries about the calling of the scroll. It takes all his mental strength to not admit what really happened. When the group reaches Katapesh Radi is actually helpful as he knows his way around Katapesh and can tell which way to the villa of Rayhan at the delta of the river Scorpius. Then Radi thanks the group for taking him along, and leaves to visit his guild. ![]()
![]() "Okay, you got me... but I had to look. See, I was sleeping here and suddenly I heard my name whispered. It woke me up, but there was no one there. But it kept calling. And it came from the bag. I swear..." Sense Motive DC15: Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Why can't I get some good rolls, damn it! ![]()
![]() Let's not pay Radi for me failing to answer that. "That is very kind of you. I'll gladly have tea with you." Radi tells. "About my warez. It was mostly everyday stuff you can buy in any general store. And not too much of that. I'm on my way back from Osirion, and would restock on that in Katapesh. But I also had some Orsirian jewellery. Most of it just nice to look at, gilded, not gold. But that could have been sold for a good price in Katapesh. It really hurts that that is gone. And of course they took all the coin I had in the cart. You saw it, there was nothing left behind!" ![]()
![]() "You're none of those bandits?" the man replies. As no one attacks him, he gets up and dusts himself off. "My wagon and I were attacked by bandits. They shot my camel and the wagon flipped over. I crawled away and only could watch as they slaughtered my camel and carried away all my warez." "I'm lucky, they didn't come after me." |
