Thanks for leading! Lots of fun, everyone.
Boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 14
FF away
Lazlo, I appreciate the lesson, but I just... I can't... I can't.... Seelah once again runs her arms over her armor flinging invisible spiders to the ground.
Oh, I hate spiders! Seelah shivers and runs out of the room running her hands all over her amor as if trying to shake something off.
Sorry, Eolowyn. I don't mean to make you waste your precious magics. When I saw Lazlo under such heavy attack, I couldn't help but use all my might to defend him. I am happy, Lazlo, to see you walking around again.
Seelah heads towards the cavern with her sword still drawn and stops in front of the stagnant water. She looks up to the webbing in the ceiling to see what she can see.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Seelah, slightly shaken by the construct's strike, strikes back.
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 2 = 25
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 6 = 17
Lazlo! Seelah charges at the construct and swings her sword.
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 2 = 20
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 6 = 18
Seelah approaches the statue to the west, observing it closely. She then puts her hand on it and pushes against it slightly.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
I've got a bad feeling about this....
Seelah walks in with Lirianne holding her sword at the ready.
Thanks again for the heal, Jasper. I think Iomedae would be proud of what we've done so far today. Her favor will surely shine down on us if we can complete what we've set out to do!
Now healed of her wounds and slightly less on fire Seelah heads west, a smoky scent trailing behind her, and opens the door.
Seelah goes to the ground and rolls to finally put out the fire that has been flaming on her armor.
Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Phew
Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
CMW: 2d8 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4) + 1 = 6
Seelah backs out of the room (risking the AOT) and pulls the potion of CMW out of her pack. When she reaches the corridor, she drinks the potion and utters a short prayer for healing. On the way out she shouts, Forgive me, friends! I will return with all haste!
Got it. Thanks. I also didn't apply the damage from the alchemist's initial attack to my damage total. I will do that now.
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Seelah winces as her armor continues burning in some places. Ignoring the pain, Seelah strikes at the steely snake.
Attack|PowerAttack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 - 2 = 24
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 = 14
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Seelah crashes into the cobra shoulder first, forcing it back several feet. As she recovers from the collision, searing heat engulfs her and she cries out in pain.
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Seelah will proceed to the south with the cobra
If Seelah bull rushes with Lirianne in the space at the passage exit, will there be a squeezing penalty?
Seelah will ready an action to charge and bull rush the snake if/when Lirianne vacates the space in front of the passage exit.
Bull Rush: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Good thinking, Eolowyn. Seelah stuffs a potion of CMW in her bag.
Don't mind if I do.... Seelah picks up the potion of Bull's Strength and one of the CLWs. Those goblins had some tricks up their sleeves. Sneaky creatures. Perhaps I chose a poor time to try my archery skills in battle. My apologies!
I'll try to avoid ending up underneath a table next time. For now, would someone mind healing me with my wand?
All healed up, Seelah heads towards the unexplored passage to the south. When we're all ready, I'll lead the way down the passage to the south.
Got it, Eolowyn! Seelah drops her bow, picks up her sword and readies an action to move into the spot Eolowyn is occupying when she steps away.
Can I ready a move action? If not, I will delay and come off delay after Eolowyn's turn performing the same actions
Seeing the crowd around the last remaining goblin, Seelah drops her longsword and draws her longbow. She nocks and lets loose.
Attack|Into Melee with Cover: 1d20 + 5 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 4 - 4 = 3
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
You're next! Seelah shouts as she heads towards the pink goblin.
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 9 - 2 = 21
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 4 = 16
Ah. Understood. I couldn't find anything saying I could avoid it completely, but a Paladin can hope.
Based on Lazlo's apology, I am ignoring the myriad shapes on the map which seem to indicate Seelah did not take any damage from Lazlo's burning hands. My assumption is the cone was directed in Seelah's direction in the orientation which would have cause both the goblin and Seelah to take damage.
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Did the goblin's reflex save of > 10 the DC allow him to not take half damage but no damage? If so, Seelah takes no damage from the burning hands either.
Yipe! Seelah deftly ducks away from the fire emanating from Lazlo's wand. Rather than direct some frustration towards Lazlo, she takes the opportunity to strike back at the goblin (Hoping to get some of the d20 her reflex save got).
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 - 2 = 22
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 4 = 18
Hooray!
Seelah should still be flat-footed. Thank fully her excellent FF AC is up to the task!
Though stunned, Seelah's able to barely pull her shield up in time to block the blow from the goblin. Frustrated with her battle performance so far this day, she has no words. She brings one hand to her chest to say a quick, silent prayer and takes a 5-foot step forward to stand next to the goblin.
I'm thinking that 5-foot step should be sufficient for the goblin to no longer have cover from Seelah? Can she even move there as a 5-foot step? Perhaps causing an AOO?
Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
She takes a big swing at the goblin (blue).
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 - 2 = 12
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 6 = 15
Beginning to think I'm rolling with a d6. I haven't had a roll above 6 in some time
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Seelah attempts and fails to block the cascade of table contents. She staggers back slightly, a bit hurt.
I wonder when I'll start rolling like my life depends upon it?
Seelah concentrates, trying to detect evil present in the room. This room just feels wrong. I pity those that were the subjects of these evil experiments.
After Seelah has had time to detect any evil presence in the room, takes one last look around and steps in.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Being so unobservant, Seelah almost trips over her own feet, but manages to remain upright hoping that no one around her noticed her stumble.
You're right, Eolowyn. I will try to remain optimistic. The last thing we want is to be pessimistic when in such a dangerous place. Let's continue pushing forward.
Seelah follows Eolowyn's suggestions and starts down the previously unexplored passage to the south.
Iomedae must be taking a break, because she doesn't seem to be interested in helping my fighting skills at all. Way to go, Hugo! You're picking up my slack.
Disappointed her strike has missed yet again, Seelah sets her feet. Iomedae, help me strike true!
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Now that is an intimidating foe!
Seelah runs forward and swings her +1 longsword at the creature
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Seelah joins Eolowyn in the hallway and passes her (barring anything scary after the fog of war is removed). Eolowyn, please allow me to lead the way. I am eager to make up for my poor performance against that altered goblin.
Seelah starts slowly down the rubble strewn passage. Seeing what horrible experiments have been taking place here, I would bet that there is considerable risk we encounter the creature that caused this destruction.
Seelah walks over to the table eyeing the bird feather token. Is there anything special about this? Lazlo, have any thoughts?
Seelah raises her armored hand to the top of her head and blinks her eyes several times. I suppose that fall shook me up more than I expected. I didn't hit that goblin once. It's a good thing we've got such skilled archers and our grizzly friend Hugo here. I promise that next time I will be more focused!
Jasper, I'm a bit scratched up, if you wouldn't mind using my wand of cure light wounds.
I'm pretty focused on the details, as you can tell
I am just now realizing that I applied the wrong attack modifiers to the attack before my last one. Seelah's longsword has a +9, not a +4. That my explain any descrepancies observant Pathfinders are seeing in Seelah's attacks
Getting frustrated at her ineffectiveness, Seelah narrows her eyes, focuses on the goblin, swings...
Attack|Power Attack|Smite Evil: 1d20 + 9 - 2 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 2 + 3 = 14
Damage|Power Attack|Smite Evil: 1d20 + 4 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 6 + 4 = 33
... and misses yet again.
My most recent post should be for this round. Also, I don't know if I can continue this scenario with your jokes flying around
Seelah deftly jumps to the side to avoid the goblin's swipe. You'll regret missing me, fiend! She runs around Hugo, pressing her palm to her chest as she does so. Iomedae, please grant me health and strength!
Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8
Seelah heals 8 hit points.
As her prayer comes to an end, she swings her longsword at the goblin with a yell.
Attack|Power Attack|Smite Evil: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 2 + 3 = 14
Damage|Power Attack|Smite Evil: 1d8 + 4 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 6 + 4 = 19
I will be on vacation starting today going over the weekend. I will do my best to check on this when I've got time, but may be unavailable until Sunday.
Seelah takes 1d6 non-lethal damage from the fall, as well.
Fall: 1d6 ⇒ 2
If anyone has every encountered a creature with vials sticking out of its head that wasn't evil, let me know. In the meantime, I will be smiting this evil!
I've adjusted my AC above to display my AC when smiting
Seelah rushes forward, dropping down off the ledge.
Acrobatic: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (17) - 6 = 11
Seelah grunts as she falls to the ground (and takes damage?). She quickly scrambles to her feet to confront the goblin.
Seelah gingerly moves past Eolowyn and power attacks the red rat
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 - 2 = 12
Damage|Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 6 = 18
Looks like we're heading down. Steel yourselves, everyone!
Seelah starts down the stairs
Seelah begins to walk down the passage, keeping an eye open for winged cats.
I thought they smelled bad... Seelah wipes goblin bits off of her face. Sinew and flesh splatter on the ground and she shakes her hands clean ...on the outside.
Following them sounds like a great idea to me. To set such evil upon us is unforgivable.
You'll have to do better than that, goblin! Seelah Power Attacks the pink goblin.
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 2 = 27
Confirm Critical: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 2 = 20
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 6 = 17
Critical Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 6 = 13
Seelah lets out a battle yell and runs into the room heedless of the danger she knows lies in wait. Iomedae give me strength!
She lays eyes on the goblins and power attacks the green one with her longsword.
Attack|Power Attack: 1d20 - 2 + 9 ⇒ (11) - 2 + 9 = 18
Damage|Power Attack: 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 6 = 11
I think that's a great idea, Jasper. Seelah opens the door to the east.
Seelah frowns, feeling as if they've missed out on something. She turns back to the door and opens it. She examines what she sees on the other side.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
She doesn't see much.
Seelah has a wand of cure light wounds. Shall we say you used her's for those casts?
Many thanks, Jasper. That was just the first step we take to eradicating the evil that resides here. I agree with Lazlo. Let's continue our exploration!
Seelah walks around the pool of water to the door on the eastern wall. She gives it a (somewhat incompetent) check for traps and (barring the presence of traps) opens the door.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Does anyone have disable device? If not, when we encounter a trap we could either try to set it off remotely or just power through.
