I'd love to offer you another game, but I'm pretty over committed at the moment, probably one of the reasons this one ran so long. Hopefully later in the year I'll be able to though.

There's a sound like conga drums, and tiny cloud of smoke, and Pietro is suddenly gone in the direction of the sewers.

The crippled rift warden sighs "They are Imaga, Mikael and Jahani. But they might not be in a condition to answer. And others may answer to their names in hope of rescue."

"AND YOU WOULD LEAVE THEM TO ROT, WOULD YOU?" Pietro looks about ready to punt this Bellflower Consortium wanker through the stone ceiling.

I think that was his point. We should just rescue the wardens instead of chasing after the trouble-maker.

Seeing that he is leaving behind the others, and doing a mental inventory of his spells, Silgil realizes there is not much he can do. The worman obviously has a freedom of movement spell up so there is no way for him to stop her, she has a shield spell up so his missiles are pointless, and even a well placed acid arrow simply missed. Obviously well protected by spells. So he just slows down and observes as the ettin gives chase.

Just keeping pace with her, staying back about 40', to see if the ettin is able to KO her.

That and Pietro isn't really built for highspeed footchases. WISDOM!

Meanbwhile Pietro calls back to the various cells. There are numerous cries from within, although the doors are generally locked. The Taldane man man you rescued from upstairs is near the bottom of the stairs waiting for you.

"THERE YOU ARE! SOME ALDORI RIFT KNIGHT YOU ARE! COME ON! LEND A HAN-err AN EYE TO HELP FIND YOUR FRIENDS! YOU'VE STILL GOT A TONGUE! WHAT EVEN ARE THEIR NAMES? MUST I DO EVERYTHING!?" shouts the cleric exhorting the wizard to help (since he plainly wasn't getting anywhere with anyone else).

Hearing all the shouts Pietro mutters to himself "THAT'S NOT REALLY THE MISSION." as he heads off to find the missing Rift-Somethings-or-Another.

"HAS ANYONE SEEN A LITTLE TALDAN FELLOW NAMED GERRARD!? HE'S ABOUT SO TALL AND HIS HANDS ARE A BIT GIMPY."

Pietro rounds the corner and shouts "AND DON'T COME BACK!"

He looks at Baloo and says "COME ON NOW IRIZATI WE HAVE TO FIND THAT FOOL WIZARD, GERRARRARD--OR WHATEVER HIS NAME WAS AND HIS FRIENDS. MAYBE YOU COULD SNIFF THEM OUT."

Then he turns and walks back the way he came.

Silgil moves up and passes by, under?. Pietro, then takes a pot shot at her, just hoping to pop an image.

"OR WE COULD JUST WAIT AND LET THE TENTACLES CRUSH HER." says Pietro apparently to no one in particular.

Outside of combat I'm happy with friendly creatures sharing a space for a short amount of time. BTW your character header still has you as only level 9!

And as for "moving up to the door", he had done that already. Basically it was: the doors, Grog, and Pietro (and his 10' reach).

Being made of sterner stuff (and a lot of it whatever it is) pulls himself free of the grasping, sickening tendrils and out of the way of any additional magical fire.

Pietro moves back because moving forward down stairs would slow him up to the point he would still be in the field of the tentacles, plus there would be a good chance that he might be the only one at the bottom for a round or two.

are there guards or women on the other side? Are they obviously enemy spell casters? sorry, missing something :)

I am pretty sure the bunched up images of guards at the foot of the stair are our invisible ladies in red. Here's another question though, can we now see her/them?

Pietro has doors as a favored enemy? +4 to str normally, +1 from enlarge, +4 from str surge (which is a standard action to do btw, so while Pietro can move up to the door in one round, it will be next round that he bursts it open, happy for the surge to apply to that though. That is a total of +9. I'm obviously missing something somewhere. However given the Ettin did even better..

Except the ettin doesn't have space/reach to reach the door based on where everyone is standing.

No can do. Pietro Str Surged and now that he's got an (quasi-)answer about Gerrard from one of his companions meaning that at least now he knows he himself is not invisible and silenced he will not use Grog to batter down the doors in front of him, but instead rely on pure, brute +3 morningstar.

I'm not sure which 5' square the lady is in, but assume Pietro, a man of the cloth (the same cloth that all barkeeps clean their mugs with) leaves enough space for Medium-sized Jesus to fight without being squeezed between them.

Pietro rounds the corner at a jog pushing off the far hallway wall to right himself as he does. Blast! he thinks to himself. The woman has cast herself another mass of black wibbly-wobbly tentacles--kinky that. I'll have to dispel it when I get closer!

Quick note. I realize Silgil is short, but I don't know that he is so short that he could have avoided the last channel, and he can only save for half healing if ha made a Will save.

The boar, wanting more of that yummy Pietro pelts around the corner in hot pursuit.

Sadly for the boar its tusk gets stuck on Pietro's new amulet.

On the rays GM, don't forget the cover, soft cover and being involved in combat with the previously mentioned soft cover. Pietro might actually have a touch AC this once despite his current above enormous size, which I should point out for fairness gives him a -1 for size and an additional -1 for Dex penalty to AC = base touch AC of 7 while enlarged. I should also note that I am not adding in that amulet of natural armor +1 he picked up last adventure because I have forgotten to add it to his character page. ;p MATHFINDER!

Then, assuming the boar has been rendered into enough of a liquid to be stuffed into a blood sausage now, he pulls back around the corner. Conveniently enough that puts everyone on this side of the map in range of healing next round. ;) WISDOM!

Sigil, you might consider taking the full round to run. It will only get you another five feet (because you can't get turn corners when you run and you can't finish in Pietro's space), but five feet is five feet.

Didn't actually take my turn last turn hoping folks might draw in closer rather than scatter, so Pietro takes a very rare "Quadruple Move" this turn (starting from the turn before).

Pietro sees one of the (smaller) big cats lope around the corner just as the dwarf disappears around the opposite one.

"DON'T ANY OF YOU PEOPLE KNOW HOW A THIRTY-FOOT RADIUS BURST OF HEALING ENERGY WORKS?" the cleric grumbles to himself.

"HURRY UP CAT! WE'RE GOING TO FIGHT THE MONSTERS!" he shouts as he spins about to run after the dwarf, trusting that in the end the cat will outrun them both.

"THAT SOUNDS SUSPICIOUSLY RELIGIOUS, OFFICER SILGIL. I'LL ASSUME THE ONLY REASON YOU HAVEN'T ARRESTED THIS ILLEGAL SUMMONER IS THIS 'PIT AND PLETHORA OF GRASPING TENTACLES.'" says the secret cleric with all the authority of a Pure Legionnaire.

If the time jump has--err, jumped, Pietro kicks in the last door (the one with the CR 12 doorplate) in the side hall (even if he hears a commotion downstairs) realizing he only has a few minutes of giant size and strength and that it would slow him to the point that he would be arriving late to be of any immediate use downstairs.

There are some wall mounted oil lamps, that Pietro could probably light, but a spell works just as well.

How long are you searching? You suspect it would take an hour to do a moderately thorough search of the office.

Pietro pulls his pumpkin-sized head out of the room and after a moment of debate featuring the words "My mother told me to pick this one." Pietro disables the lock on the eastern door by kicking the door off it's hinges.

"EENIE MEENIE MINEY MO. CATCH A DRUID BY THE TOE. IF HE HOLLERS LET HIM GO. EENIE MEENIE MINEY MO."

"WELL WHEREVER THEY ARE I HOPE THEY REMEMBER THEY ARE DRESSED AS OFFICERS OF THE LAW AND COMPORT ACCORDINGLY AND NOT BRING SHAME UPON THE CORPS."

Anything special, he can see about the doors in the hall (bars, nameplates, etc...)? If not, Pietro waits patiently, out of sight for a little while in the grand hall, ready to drive the first person or thing though the broken door through the floor like a railway spike with his morningstar.

I suppose you could assume that, but he hasn't gone down yet that I know of. I thought we were waiting upstairs while Grog scouted downstairs. Pietro was gonna smash in the the north door after the wizard and the kitties had a look about the south.
