Maybe it's been addressed before, but I can't find any mention of it...

Is there or will there be a way to repair items, mundane and magical? From what I can tell, I could spend six months researching and collecting materials, refining them, saving up enough of everything I need to create that single awesome item I've been salivating over in my mind, then come up against that one opponent I can't quite get past and the item is now gone because I died 20 times before I realized it. Not to mention, with no stores of any kind and players starting out in an NPC settlement, there is no buying/selling of anything going on and there is no way to repair anything you've fought tooth and nail to acquire. And as a new player, some people die a lot and then they're without armor or weapons or whatever and there's not a thing they can do about it.

Very strange. I see the version 15 info at the direct URL. However, even after restarting my computer and the patcher more than once, it still indicates it is on Alpha 14. It is working and I'm able to log in to the game, but for whatever reason, it's not updating to the correct version info for the patcher. The file date for patcher.exe is showing as 12/12. I dunno.

EDIT >> I think there was some sort of cache issue, though I'm not sure what. I right-clicked in the patcher window and refreshed it and it updated to the correct version info. No idea why it wouldn't update on its own. I'm sure it's something on my end since others aren't having the issue.

I tried waiting on my patcher to update, but it would only error out eventually. Downloaded Alpha 15 and installed it and it works fine now. Patcher still says Alpha 14 for me, but it's working so not gonna complain.

Well, my Alpha 14 patcher will not update to the Alpha 15 version. It's locked up in the same place (downloading the textures.pig) multiple times and rebooting the computer and/or restarting the program does not alter the result. I'll have Alpha 15 downloaded soon, so it looks like i have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall. Using Win 7 on an x64 in case anyone's interested.

My patcher worked fine up until the current release. The release itself may have something to do with it since...

"...This release also includes a functional Macintosh Patcher, and updates to the Patcher technology for Windows."

I suppose mine will eventually get past the "Downloading - Pathfinder_Data\Textures.pig" point. In the meantime, downloading the 1.7 GB Alpha 15 installer will take me a little while. We'll see which completes first.

I concur. Of all the things that should be available for play at the outset, races tops the list. Mounts/Fast travel doesn't affect my initial choice when beginning to play. pNPCs (personal NPCs aka Pets) have no real affect either, though it would be preferable to have pNPCs an available option for those classes which have them as integral class features. Still, because it is a classless system and 'class' skills and features are based on skill choice and progression, the game design can be updated in a more modular fashion and pNPCs can be folded in to the skill tree easily enough when it's added. The available pantheon definitely has an impact on beginning play choices, but not as big of an impact as available races. When the expanded pantheon is added, it is feasible to include an option that allows a PC to change the deity it follows, as long as it is within one step of the current alignment, or some sort of game mechanic that allows for a change. It is somewhat awkward, depending on how it's implemented, but not nearly as awkward as not5 having all of the core races available at the outset. With the other options, you can continue playing the same PC you've started with, but with races you'd have to start over with the new race. Your PC can't simply change to another race when another core race becomes available.

Having all of the core races available at the outset is far more important than any other crowdforging option thus far presrnted.

Any Shieldmate positions still not taken from near the beginning of the KS? I joined at the Pioneer level, but only in the last three days. I joined the KS cause I want to see this game made, not for the daily deals, but would be cool to have the shieldmate benefits when PFO goes live. Impossible to predict available play time 1.5 years out, so not even gonna try.
