Apologies I just don't think there is something Reginald would or could do in character at this point in time that would be appropriate, he's more of a follower than a leader as I have him now.

I can try and come up with something today and see if it jump-starts things?

Hero lab is stating I have 2 ranks in appraise which I haven't got in the output. Hmmm. (My best guess is I intended to make a change before submitting the character, but only did it on hero-lab and never modified the online sheet for some reason.)

For simplicities sake I'll take those away and put Wis 12 Int 11, then I'll get extra skill-points if/when we hit level 4 and spend a point on Int. (This should also mean that I won't have been using certain skills with an effective +1 modifier.) I have used my favoured bonus for Skill points, which was why I was so confused (as if they were set to HP in hero-lab it would have been a quick-fix).

Sorry about all this, it could have been avoided by a second or third inspection. (I probably missed it as it was the only non-character skill with points in) I'll also re-output the character sheet to make sure everything is correct instead of just editing, let me know if there are any problems.

All of these shenanigans should have a net result of nothing on the gameplay side of things if I do it that way.

The extra -4 to jump occurs because my armour reduces my speed (less than 30-ft speed penalty), the armoured hulk gains its move speed in 5t increments at levels 2 and 5 and only in heavy/medium armour. It is essentially to negate the movement penalty of armour.

Thought I had posted this yesterday but I hadn't.

I noticed yesterday that I had three separate ability scores for Uthar, one in the stats part, one in the hero-lab output and one in hero-lab itself.

2 stats differed across each one, wisdom and intelligence, the three sets I had were:

Scores catagories
Wis 13
Int 10

Output(may have been other-way around not too sure)
Wis 11
Int 12

Hero-lab
Wis 10
Int 13

Looking at the skills output of the character sheet, I would need an Int mod of +1 in order to have the number of skills I in fact have (this already accounts for picking extra skill points per level as opposed to extra HP). As a quick fix I have normalised all three to Int 12 Wis 11. I have otherwise made no changes other than DM requested since initial character generation.

I will be happy to set the scores to whichever you request Thom (if you drop Int below 12 I'll drop skills of your choice) provided you feel the need too, but I felt it best to inform everyone here instead of sneaking changes through (in retrospect I should have brought this up before normalising the lot.)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hello all, quick apologies here for my recent absence, I have unfortunately recently been placed in a high stress situation for a period of about a month, one of the known symptoms I suffer whiles under high stress is forgetfulness. (This is particularly bad as I already suffer some forgetfulness from Anxiety issues.)

This is a quick update that I am post nearly everywhere to let people know that I am back and I will be trying to respond to all my PM's and catch up to all of the forums I am participating in over the next 2-3 days. Apologies in particular to my role-play groups whom I may well have inconvenienced/slowed the pace.

Hope to speak to you all real soon!

-Nutter

No complaints here, hope you have everything shipshape!

Side note I must have read one of the older rosters by accident as I got distracted at the time of checking the thread. I am here and will be keeping up from now on, sorry for any confusuion it caused people!

Had an extremely tiring day, just got a PM noting I had misread the roster. Derp. Just clearing that up, I am here and will begin posting shortly.

Drat. Oh well I wish you guys luck with the campaign, have fun!

Truthally I am new to the online play by post, my account was made specifically because I was invited to a differant campaign.

Being the internet I can give you little more than my word that I will always be paying attention to the campaign. I can however tell you that with the way my college is timetabled, I will be free enough to make multiple posts a day, and I am usually up late which seems to be compensating for the time-zone differance so far. The only day I anticipate I will struggle to post on is a monday as I rarely have more than an hour to myself in the afternoon.

Other than a monday I promise to do my absolute best to keep up posting alongside the rest of the group if selected, I will also attempt to infrom the group if something gets in the way: e.g. lack of internet, house move, sickness etc.

Okay answering questions in order:

1. A minor noble house in Ustalav, he was adopted and shared their name, but was not considered to be a noble himself, he traveled to many parts of the world when he discovered his like of mapmaking, and made a decent amount of coin for his efforts. He did however have to eventually face the fact that he was aging significantly slower than his human parents and brother, which slowy caused him to feel less and less at home with his family.

2. Reginald never quite fit in with the world around him, his family were kind, and his brother (the only surviving member of his original family) good to him, even so, he did not wish to join the usual trend amongst his family and its allies of joining the Mendev crusades or aiding the defense of Lastwall. When the opportunity presented itself his family encouraged him to go, instead of holding back. This is also where he got a large amount of his martial training.

3. Reginald got somewhat lucky in his application, during his stay before he was due to be interviewed he encountered to artifices arguing in the street, he did not knwo it at the time but they were both important to the ships construction. He successfully managed to break up the argument and negotiate a compromise between the two, earining him a hearty recommendation from one and a begrudging from another. This in combination with his display of his mapmaking skills and animal handling successfully obtained his place on the voyage.

4. Reginald tended to animal on the ship (I assume a small number were taken, such as mounts for exploration and perhaps some chickens for eggs and the like.) helping to overcome the difficulties of keeping them exercised in a relatively confined space. (Reginald will have Profession (Stable Master) and naturally Handle animal.) When not tending to the animals he used his diplomacy to talk to members of the ship which became homesick and comforted them. He also served as a manual laboror for the less physically able.

5. Standing at 5 feet and as many inches, Reginald is unusually large for a Oread, it shows on his broad and heavyset frame. His hair and eys follow the usual trend of being the colours of earthy brown and dark brown respectivley. His skin however is slightly lighter than one would expect, looking tanned but not dark. He is Lawful Neutral, he respects the structure and command of the ship immensley, and he will happily aid his friends and allies to the best of his ability, but may forsake a stranger if the situation is dire enough, he is loyal and hard-working but is unlikely to risk his life for those he doesn't know.

6. I tried to get as much of this into the over questions but the gist of it is simple; He was adopted whiles a young boy by a kind minor noble couple and raised with an older brother. When he was young he was taught the martial methods of the family, falcata and lance where his weapons, and good armour alongside a good steed were important. When it came to learning a profession he found the concept of mapping out the land for all to understand attractive and began his travels. With each visit home however he realised his human family would age more and more, when his parents died he realised he no longer felt at home in Ustalav and spent his time wondering. Whiles his last living connection, his brother Reynard, was alive when the ship set off, reginald knows he more than likely died during his voyage.

Sorry for the small wall of text, I wanted to be detailed!

Reginald Thanthorpe
Oread Cavalier

Reginald is not the usual suspect for an expidition as such, in a sea full of inventors, alchemy and powerful mages, his martial prowess seems somewhat subdued when surrounded by such people.

Furthermore, at a cursory glance his ability to handle animals, whiles admirable, is somewhat subdued on a vessel so full of druids and other lovers of nature, there is already plenty of redundancy as it is on those fronts.

Despite this however the larger-than-average Oread greets all he meets with a quiet smile, and it can become difficult to maintain anger with one another when a large freindly indidividual steps in and helps negotiate peace. Often however he tends to keep to his quiet self.

A good look at his quarters however display his true reason for being amongst so many elite, neatly organised tools and equipment are upon a table, and many sheet of paper are spread upon its surface. Images of the few astronomical bodies they have passed are charted among them, guesses at size and terrain scrawled neatly in the approriate areas. Even multiple copies of the ships maps exist, clearly replacements for those that get damaged!

When tied together Reginalds purpose becomes obvious, a well trained man who can cover vast distances by horse, and map all that he finds, his job will be to ensure that, wherever they end up, the terrain, the locations of resources and dangers and bodies of water shall be recorded for the colony, his skills practised at every opportunity.

Hope this is suitable for a character, I figured it would be important for a group of explorers to have a mapmaker available to record what they find in detail. If all is fine I'll stat the character.

Hello there,
I don't suppose you have a little room for one more? (I always seem to find these games of interest right as they're finishing up!)
If its a yes I'll be back in a few hours to post up a concept or too. If not best of luck with your campaign!

Im still around and happy to play as long as everyone else is, im hoping for some good character development with Uthar later on!

I'm back, works all out of the way and I can get to posting again, yay!

Im fine with adding someone knew in Pivendors place. As long as the rest of the group is okay with it.

Apologies for not posting recently, tad busy with College work, and I usually wait 'till Im one of the last to post as I'm low in the initiative (Waiting for the bad guys to go usually). For referance TRT you had Uthar do exactly as I would.

I've really been enjoying Uthar's consistant and beastly damage though!

Ah I should probably roll Level 2 hp here instead of at home, for clarity!

Level 2 HP: 1d12 ⇒ 12

And I get max! Nice!

Just returned from a holiday trip to london so sorry for my absence.

Perhaps Uthar would know Thenji from childhood or perhaps uthar regularily maintained Thenji's armour for him during the war?
Perhaps (if we're going with the concept twist) Uthar may even be aware that Vex has taken Thenji's place, but being a fairly quite man has never shared what he considers to b e a friends secret?

Perhaps I would know DSX's character from supply deliverys or, again, from childhood?

Otherwise it would stand to reason, that as Uthar is an armour-smith in a relativly small town, any PC wearing armour would at least be aquainted with Uthar.

Side-note: Forgot to roll for Uthar's Level 1 Health, going to fix that now!

If I need to leave the cart behind thats fine, Anvils aren't expensive but they do require a sufficiantly large town or city in order to find one spare/made. So if I cant retrieve the cart later on I can always replace the Anvils and cart later.

Hello there,
Im the son of Dabbler, and I would quite like to join the campaign, fair warning however, I am new to online roleplay, so brace yourselves for some mistakes.

The Character concept I currently have in mind is that of an armoursmith who worked towards the end of the war, He would often work in the various camps of the armys fixing armour as well as performing the expected variety of basic blacksmith skills. This would also allow me to craft my own armors (Hero Lab changes amount to 1/3 cost when crafting on mundane items) though he lacks the skill to craft his own weapons.

I would quite like to use a barbarian as a base class with the Armored Hulk Archetype from Ultimate Combat.

The idea being that whiles he is an ordinarily a quiet and hard worker he often vents his frustration with fists and weapons. He travels with a cart (paid for out of starting gold ofc.) to bring his tools and anvils with him and recently has settled back into Haltwistle as soon as he could worm his way free of the requests for his skills. (This allows for some recognition by some soldiers/officials as well as the possibility of some ticked off fellows for having not stayed to listen to their requests.)

If any of this is a problem, let me know. If you think the Armored Hulk Archetype is not suitable I can go to a fighter, or, if you think the concept is too inconveniant, I was thinking I might do a Sorcerer of some kind, though I'll cross that bridge when I come to it!
