Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Hi folks,

I'm afraid the demands of life and work (not the least of which the current trip I'm on) find me with not enough time to devote to the playthrough. Rather than (unfairly to all of you) string things along with inconsistent posting, I'll be withdrawing from the game. Dispose of my character as you see fit! Good luck to you all, and thanks!

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"I'm in favor of making haste away," Naeli says, nodding to the west.

Lucendar, I will be away on an extended business trip until next Friday. Happy to let you drive or otherwise duck out of the plot until then...

Hellknight scum! They're not taking me alive...

Move to G24

Naeli whispers a hurried aside to Marcello: "Put them to sleep and lets keep moving! While Jerod has their attention..."

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"Wherever you are taking us, then....let us make haste!"

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Satisfied that she had evened the odds in this corridor, Naeli turns to help Pallius deal with the eastern way. She spied the arcane dabbler among the enemy and set off.

Double move to E28

Eager to take the pressure off her comrades, Naeli circles to the right and unleashes a flash of arcane power...

Move to E21, cast Color Spray diagonal centered on D20. Should hit gobbos at D20, D19, and B20 per http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/color-spray

Yes, don't see a safe outlet for Color Spray

Naeli muttered a curse as the goblins rushed in on them from two directions. As the party moved to engage, she paused to evaluate her options.

Naeli delays

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli, learning from experience, will be last in line. She can monitor to the rear with her darkvision.

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"Goblins or Hellknights....I'll take goblins."

She peered down the tunnel. "Lead on, Pallius. We're with you."

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli jumps to her feet, fear written plain across her face. If Hellknights find a tiefling about....it would not end well.

She mutters a cantrip, screwing her eyes closed as she feels her power infuse her very bones.

Readying Color Spray

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"This is not a very good start for a revolution..." Naeli mutters to herself.

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"This government has taken from me one of the few kindnesses of my life. I owe it less than nothing."

Looking around the table at her new companions, and then at Zeke. "Speak on, I say."

Please assume that I am running with Disguise - Half-elf up at all times unless otherwise noted. Let me know if I need to make a check at any point...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

I'm on a blackout for the other CoT party....

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli finds a place near the end of the table. With practiced care, she sits facing the doorway. This should be an interesting discussion. I'll need to make time to come clean with the party. After, perhaps...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

After the funeral, Naeli gives a polite greeting to Marcello (from the depths of her hooded cloak) and bids a fond farewell to Pallius, Lhuar, and Jerod, nodding at Tuktuk, and promises to meet up for the evening's meeting. She leaves quietly.

For GM:
Naeli will return to the Velbottis estate and see what she can learn from the staff and her (reluctant) step-mother about the rumors of bizarre happenings at her father's funeral.

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

For GM:
Should any of the events involving the Velbottis funeral / missing body be affecting me at this point? I tuned out of the other CoT thread after the start of the funeral fight in the event that the two strands might meet at some point. Does the Velbottis plot point go on in any way I should play off of here? Thanks...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

We expect nothing less than three pages of metered prose...;-)

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

With a glance a Pallius, in lieu of speaking aloud, Naeli approaches the casket. Laying a soft hand upon it, she kneels as whispers something....

Abyssal:
Even in the dark places of the world, your sacrifice is noted. Thank you, my friend, and be at one with your god.

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"Gregor deserves a better funeral than....other citizens have received recently."

She gestures to the pouch. "Pallius, if any of this can assist in giving him a proper burial..."

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"That I am. Its hard to find good men about this city, so I stick with them when I find them."

She nods a thanks to Pallius and accepts the pouch. "Whose funeral?"

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

The hooded girl slips into the inn unnoticed, taking stock of the party and smiling slightly at Jerod's working the room.

After a while she detaches herself from the wall and approaches the gnome.

"Master Bellawok....I am Naeli, party to the incident at the Levington's. Someone with your skills would be a most valuable companion. Sadly, as Pallius says, we lost one such to last nights events, a brave servant of Gorum...."

I put up a recruitment post so I can't go back on my word, but I guess we can play with 6 for awhile. We'll see what the rest of the group says, if they're ok with six. I may have decided too quickly and with no warning. Like I said, I know RL interferes and affects a person's posting rate, but as long as you give me notice, I am reasonable. It's when people just up and disappear for more than one day that I don't like. I guess this will be fair warning to all from now on.

My apologies. I think I would've been a bit more conscientious had we been in the middle of a combat. Sorry, mate!

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Well, not much was happening at the moment, and couldn't post from work today (Thursday).

Your call, Lucendar, I won't quibble.

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Jerod brings a rare smile to Naeli's face. "That would be....kind of you, sir. I do not feel well."

Concern suddenly clouds her face. "Given my heritage, I hope you no of some place discrete. I've found that not all such temples honor the kind words of their credos."

Pulling the hood ever further over her head, she says "I can play a convincing half-elf, alas." Grasping his proffered arm, he leans in to whisper. "There is something I must tell you. It may be nothing, but....after the temple, when next we see Pallius."

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli, drawn pale from her wounds and a night spent curled up in her cloak, can only listen with a distant stare to Jerod's recounting of the evening's event. Throughout the tale, she sat sunken in her hood, carefully avoiding the eyes of the dottari sent to investigate.

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli looked up from helping Pallius administer to their fallen comrades. "spend the night in a ransacked manor full of corpses? I suppose I've heard worse ideas..."

She shrugged, glancing around.

"But what is the meaning of all this? Hobgoblins in this district.....were the Levington's targeted? Were these creatures looking for something?"

She stood up then, feeling her anger growing, as the pain of her injuries, the stress of combat and the events since she had returned to the city all came to a head. Pointing an accusatory finger at Ishiro, she said "Just what were the Levingtons involved in? Why this attack?"

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

No worries, this caster prancing around with cone spells is new to me. Definitely choosing something more direct next opportunity....

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Ok, then disregard - I will blast with my readied Color Spray if he goes down and leave things up to Lhuar, heh...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Based on this: Color Spray it looks to my like Pallius isn't in the spray...rotate the right side cone 90 degrees clockwise?

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Actually, looks like I can Color Spray into the big bad's hex without hitting Pallius or Lhuar, from my current location, aiming directly south. Would do that (an immediately pass out) if possible...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Hmm, a tad boxed in. Well here goes nothing.....

So Gregor is down again...please feel free to leave him there. Hopefully when you move on to the main adventure you can recruit a player/character better suited to the party and for the tasks at hand.

Hey, Naeli (literally) feels your pain.

I didn't think through the consequence of having a cone targeted spell (Color Spray) the early focus of such a squishy character. Cant' fire and forget without hitting friendlies....

In any event, hope you'll stick with us. It's been an excitingly bloody prologue.;-)

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli hobbles down the stairs, gasping in pain with each step. Tears cloud her vision as she watches Gregor get chopped down. She readies a spell, nearly blacking out.....

I will probably not act until things get (more) dire. I'm a one-and-done at the moment.
Move to A5 and ready Color Spray

Naeli trails the party into the now abattoir-like library. She gasps and covers her mouth, momentarily forgetting her own injury.

"But....but why would these creatures do this? And inn the heart of the city? The dottari do nothing...." Overcome by an acute rage, she cannot go on.

Just to clarify, stabilized at -1, if I take any standard action (or anything strenuous really), I drop unconscious again?

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"I don't know how I will hold up until this is healed", says Naeli between clenched teeth. "But we should press on. Remember the family..."

Moves to Q19, two spaces behind Pallius

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli comes to with a ragged gasp, and sees Jerod crouching over her.

"Argh, but that hurts." In sitting up, she see that the blood seems to have stopped flowing from the new wound across her shoulder and chest. She stumbles to her feet, light-headed. "If nothing else, this evening has convinced me to give these foul things a wide berth in the future."

Naeli stands

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Naeli moves to Pallius's vacated spot at T15 and casts another Daze at Hobgoblin O16...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

As the shrill sound of the hobgoblin's whistle echoes through the estate house, Naeli moves forward to crouch off to Pallius's side. So much for sneaking... Reaching towards the doorway, she releases the pent up dark energy of her soul....

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Standing well back of the door, Naeli grasps her shortspear and whispers, "I'm ready."

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

The quiet inside the compound was haunting.

Turning to Jerod, she said "Well, sir....let us hope you don't have to draw on your previous experience. And....thank you for coming. And staying, after...my dark secret came out, as it were."

She smirked. "Contingency plan....we run? I'm afraid it was long ago when I was last a guest of the Levingtons, and at the time lost in my own problems. Regardless, we should be more cautious. That attack in the street seemed an ambush, and I'm not keen have to pull a second arrow from my chest.

Let us look for a servant's entrance, and ware the windows..."

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

"There's a spot around back that might be good. If I remember this style of manor, there's likely to be a rear or servants' entrance of some kind."

Maybe boosts by Pallius / Gregor as Aid Another attempts? Although if we're not just scouting you'll both have to go over the wall as well...
EDIT: Nevermind, I see you are already negotiating the mechanics!;-)

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

I assume this is the Levington manor, rather?

The group comes to a halt across from the entry gate, the continued dreary weather and the trauma of the previous fight having done little to improve their spirits.

"Here it is, then. I remember little about the interior, but I do know the wall runs all the way around the estate. We might be able to climb the wall around the back, or someone could sneak a look through the front gate..."
