I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble...

For some reason.. I can't hit it from my phone nor home, but at work it is fine!

Oh well! Sorry about delay!

In case this helps any, I noticed that I can't access the boards from my phone when using the WiFi at my house. If I turn it off, magically my phone can access the site. Still can't get here from a pc though.

I was going to roll that check, but I do hope someone else rolls perception checks also. :)

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

only you and Naeli have dark vision.

I don't think Jerod is providing light...

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Blasted peeping hobgoblins! So nosy!

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

I chose my favored enemies, since I planned ahead, based on the campaign guide. Is the guide valid for your game or should I ignore it?

It's valid.

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

I don't know why I used the ooc code, but thanks for the info. :)

Remember, this is still the prequel so we haven't jumped into the full AP yet.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Oh man, so we get to die without even starting the AP! :)

Liberty's Edge

Perhaps my lack of playing a divine caster is showing...or perhaps a battle cleric was the wrong choice for this adventure. Regardless since I have spent the majority of the prologue in a horizontal position I can only imagine the actual AP won't go much better.

In short I'm feeling quite useless..and more than a little guilty that I'm sucking the enjoyment out of this experience for everyone.

So Gregor is down again...please feel free to leave him there. Hopefully when you move on to the main adventure you can recruit a player/character better suited to the party and for the tasks at hand.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

I do admit its rough when the GM's dice seem to have it out for you.. when you are low on hp (and sans diehard), I recommend delaying till after the enemy normally charges (enters into melee).. (if not only to save yourself from the chance of getting peppered), but to also use the now altered battlefield for your decision, (be it buff/debuffing, charging on your own!)

Let Pallius take damage (its what he is built for, heck he has technically almost 25 hp before he is truly disabled!) and use the opening to get in there and start cleaving away. (So far I dont think you have even missed!!)

Although if I had expected this much carnage .... might have been looking at armor master..

I think the battle cleric is good and survivable, except for the tactics you are using. When you have 3 hps and no healing left and you're going up against a BBEG, you don't go out front. Same thing happened with the hobgoblin fight. You ran up front, though that one was more of a super critical that took you down. I think Pallius is correct. You should let him engage and then help out to avoid becoming the main target. If you're not having fun, you can let Gregor die and change concepts. Up to you. Main thing is to have fun!

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Which brings up another question...

Wouldn't invulnerable ragers wreck in this AP? I imagine the DR and Uncanny dodge would be giving alot of creatures in council of THIEVES.. nightmares (of course assuming there will be whole armies of rogues ready to sneak attack the party)

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

I agree. The great thing about winning initiative is not going first, but having the option to go first. Sometimes it is better to let other things play our before you act. Letting the heavy AC or damage guys stand in front while you buff them is a good idea.

That would be true if it weren't for the fact that invulnerable ragers give up uncanny dodge to get DR sooner.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Damn you are right... but that means... THERE ARE ARMIES OF ROGUES!

Hey, Naeli (literally) feels your pain.

I didn't think through the consequence of having a cone targeted spell (Color Spray) the early focus of such a squishy character. Cant' fire and forget without hitting friendlies....

In any event, hope you'll stick with us. It's been an excitingly bloody prologue.;-)

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Well damn, you wanted to be a hero Naeli/Lhuar!!?

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

I am trying. I just need the dice gods to help me out.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Soo if Naeli color sprays... could Pallius/Lhuar dive out of the way? (use our 5 ft steps?)

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Hmm, a tad boxed in. Well here goes nothing.....

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

well.. maybe pallius could have moved to C5... but I think that would have left you wide open...

DAMN GM POSTED.. NO THE WORLD IS NOW SET IN STONEE!!!

Pallius Crispin wrote:

Do you really want Naeli to make Concentration check, risk AoO, and if by some miracle the bugbear makes a save, put her in harm's way, when you still have 9 hps? We can rewind if you'd like, but that's a lot of risk IMO. Besides, no 5' steps were mentioned in your post so Pallius will be caught in blast. Can't step to C5 on diagonal due to wall.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Wait.. couldn't she have blasted him from where she stands?? 15 ft cone should get b6/c6/b7/b8/c7/d6 ?? (Maybe I am failing at cone mechanics...)

Ah. Damn you wall!!! DAMN YOU!! Pallius shall stand and fight! (I'm good sorry.)

Exactly, it gets Pallius, as he can't 5' step to C5.

LOL...

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

Based on this: Color Spray it looks to my like Pallius isn't in the spray...rotate the right side cone 90 degrees clockwise?

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

Someone will get hit, and since her comments were not made in out loud don't know what she is up to.

PS:If she did say it out loud then I need to know so I can get farther away.

edit:If you spray south you can not hit Pallius, but still hit the bad guy. Jerod would get hit though.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Jerod is still unconscious, I'm sure the color spray would only highlight his hair or some other theatrics.

You know.. bug bear didn't aim for the face (he's an actor, face shots are just uncool!)

I was unaware of that second configuration for color spray, tough call. We'll see how it pans out, I missed..

Stressful fight!

Female HP: 8/8 AC: 12/12/10 F:1.R:2.W:2 Per: +0 Init: +2

No worries, this caster prancing around with cone spells is new to me. Definitely choosing something more direct next opportunity....

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Quick to the smelling salts!

on a side note: Has anyone... seen Ishiro??

Ok, fun fight guys! Congrats! We'll pick up the aftermath tomorrow...need to sleep!

Deane, you decided what you going to do? Keep playing Gregor, make new character, or something else?

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Jerod for the academy award?

But if it helps.. Pallius (At least) isn't going for the Levington's wealth (although if freely given... yea would be nice.)

But for rather for Ishiro to do something! Rather than sit back and wait for a dottari investigation (if/when that ever happens) And missing out on the chance to get involved! (And give the PC's free room and board!)

Think we lost Gregor? Will wait till tomorrow to see if he posts, then may have to recruit a healer, if he still hasn't shown up.

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

It is possible. He seemed dejected after the last time he went down, but it is hard to read tone of voice online. I would shoot him a PM, and if he does not post or reply to you within 24 hours recruit another healer.

Update: I got official word that Gregor is out, he thought my game's mortality rate was too high and I can understand how he felt. He was unconscious/dying for most of the PbP. I've put out a feeler to one player to see if he is interested and we'll go from there.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

Sounds good, sorry to see him go. (Will have post up here hopefully, depends if gm tpk's us in this combat)

Liberty's Edge

My apologies to the group both for my poor performance and for bailing on you. (although in all honesty I anticipated that I would be quite dead as a result of this latest encounter.) As it would turn out I'm probably the wrong type of player playing the wrong type of character for this adventure.

No apologies necessary, I'm sorry you didn't have fun in my game.

Update: I heard from another player and he's interested in playing an oracle. He'll have the character ready by tomorrow, so we're good to go.

Male HP:09/21 AC: 16(18HS)/11/15(17HS) F: +5 R: +1 W: +0 Per: +0 Init: +2

You know.. looking at the natural healing rules... may end up needing to babysit some of the party as they sleep (lest they fail their rolls and start bleeding out in the middle of the night!)

Male HP: 11/22 AC 16/13/13: F+5, R +6, W+3, Per:+7, Init: +3

I thought everyone had stabilized.
