Okay, so I'm making a MoMS for a game, and focusing on Crane and Boar Style at the moment.

So I've got all three Crane style feats, and the base Boar Style. Let's say I'm in Crane Style, fighting defensively. An enemy attacks me, I deflect the attack (it misses), which gives me an attack of opportunity. I hit the attack, then get to make another unarmed strike on my turn, which also hits. So I've hit the enemy with two unarmed strikes in one round, right? Does that proc the 2d6 rend damage from Boar Style?

Edit: Also just realized that this should be in a different section of the boards, sorry!

Right, I'm back...again.

This time, I'm joining up with a 3-person group for another round of PF. I wanted to try using a Gunslinger, but I wanted to use the Bolt Ace in particular. I've asked my DM if he'll allow me to remove the Gunsmithing ability in exchange for either an early level version of Rapid Reload (or Rapid Reload as a bonus feat), or proficiency with all crossbows, since it seems like the class should have that anyway.

The idea I wanted to try was a Bolt Ace using one (or two!) heavy crossbows, though the idea of using a double crossbow past level 10 or so isn't something I'd mind trying. It just doesn't seem like it's really doable until level 11 or so, due to BAB and the number of attacks you can get.

So far, I know that Rapid Reload and Crossbow Mastery are musts, since it takes too long to reload the heavy crossbow without those. If I make a human, I can take Rapid Reload as a bonus feat, Point-Blank Shot as a level 1 feat, Rapid Shot for a level 3 feat, and Crossbow Mastery at level 5. That way, it'd be a free action to reload (regardless of the type used, according to the feat.) The issue with using two of the things is that I'd be taking a rather hefty penalty to hit...

Might I get some input/assistance with this? I sort of pictured the character as being a mute woman found in a bar before she joins the party, and one with a good potential for damage/ CC (namely, pinning some poor bastard to a wall. =P )

(Also, I know that longbows are more or less better in every way, so please don't tell me that.)

As the title suggests, I, along with other members, recently got accepted into Spooky's WotR campaign. However, it seems as though he's disappeared in all of his threads, which is rather saddening. In any case, we all like the group that was put together, so we're looking for a DM who could pick up our group. We never progressed past the first room, and all that was really done was the various characters introducing themselves, followed by improving the NPCs' attitudes.

The characters are as follows:

Olivia Wormwood- Female Div-Spawn Tiefling Paladin (Divine Hunter) (Marshal Path)
Tchirash Suntouched- Female Aasimar Warpriest (Guardian Path)
Lily Taharial- Female Aasimar Oracle (Hierophant Path)
Salomae Amsel- Female Idyllkin Arcanist (Archmage Path)
Milhar Korashi- Female Elf Rogue (Trickster Path)
And myself, a female Aasimar Swashbuckler (Flying Blade) (Champion Path)

What we're looking for in a DM-

Roleplaying opportunities- A large part of what drew us to Spooky's campaign was the opportunity to roleplay things out. This includes the overarching campaign story and individual characters. Bonus points if a DM can somehow meld enemies from the story into a character's backstory and work with players to accomplish that!

Epic Fights- This sort of goes with what was said above, but it's more of a matter of not having a fight just be something like...

"The rat bites you. It hurts. Your turn."

That's no fun, right? =P Spooky promised cinematic fights, but it's not a necessity for them to be completely cinematic.

I think that's it, but here's the rules we made our characters by:

Rules:
Character creation details:
-20 point buy
-All classes except for Gunslinger, as well as all archetypes except Synthesist Summoner and the ones that give non-Gunslinger classes access to guns (such as Holy Gun)
--Divine spellcasters who get their powers from a specific deity
-All core races, as well as Aasimar and Tiefling. Less conventional races need a good reason for being in Kenabres.
--Divine spellcasters who get their powers from a specific deity (or anyone who takes the Touched by Divinity trait) must choose a Good-aligned deity. Iomedae, Desna, Torag, and Sarenrae are all strong choices, especially the latter given her affinity for redemption. That said, non-listed deities are just fine too. Those are just ones that fit better than others.
--Paladins may be of Neutral or Chaotic alignments so long as they are within one step of their deity.
--For Aasimar and Tiefling variant abilities, you may either roll for your ability, or pick one from the list. If you pick one yourself, you may not choose any of the +2 ability score entries. You may choose whatever and however many physical qualities as you'd like, given their lack of game impact. Fiendish Heritage is not a requirement for access variant Tieflings.
-All official Paizo material is on the table in terms of equipment, feats, spells, etc.
-Good-aligned characters only. You are the titular righteous and you should act like it.
-Max starting gold for your class
-Two traits
-No 3rd party material
-I tend to welcome houseruling and refluffing, so if there is something you'd like tweaked or reflavoured feel free to ask.
-Please provide a backstory, explaining your character's history, personality, and motivation, as well as a short rundown of your character's general gameplay roll, and any prestige classes you may be considering.

So I'm currently in only one play-by-post PF game (maybe two depending on what happens this week). Previously, I had a DM who would do campaigns via Roll 20, but he's gone off due to work, which leaves me with no R20 campaigns, and it bugs me. That said, I'm looking for a kind DM who might need a player for a campaign done through Roll 20 or a similar site. Voice chat is possible but not necessary. Please reply in this thread or just send a PM with details of potential campaigns, please and thank you! I have Skype and AIM. *Nodnod* Details about characters/playstyles/what have you answered upon request, of course.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I'm preparing to make a character for a friend's WotR campaign, and I've settled on a Warpriest of Desna. I was originally going to simply use a Flying Blade of Desna, but decided against it for flavor reasons (many related to said character's backstory). I'm not sure if he's using Mythic or not, but I'd like to make a Warpriest using starknives (since Sacred Weapon makes them much better in terms of damage). I was thinking of using TWF with starknives, and perhaps using a DEX-based build with them?

Tl;dr: Please halp with dual-wielding starknife warpriest of Desna for builds, please and thank you. (P.S. Not using a human)

Edit: This doesn't mean I'm looking for a super-optimized build, mind you. I want to be capable in a fight, but...you know.

Right, so I got a PF subscription for Mummy's Mask yesterday and checked my downloads today, and I didn't see the download link for the PDF. So I was somewhat confused and decided to check my subscriptions, where it lists the Adventure Path subscription. Lower on the page, where it gives shipping estimates for each book in the series, it said my payment method for the first book was declined, which I don't quite understand, since my card is valid. I don't think I put the information in wrong, and the only thing I might've botched up is putting in the address when I actually purchased it, since I entered the shipping address of my friend (since the physical copies are going to him. I just want the PDFs.) Is there some way to correct the issue, or am I going to have to purchase the first book by itself? Or did I just get the AP subscription too late to qualify for the first Adventure Path in the series?

(Note that I noticed upon going to the subscription page that the payment method was incorrect, and had my friend's address as opposed to mine, so that might've been an issue as well.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

First, I'd like to stress that I'm new to PF compared to most of the people I run with. Our DM is pretty busy most of the time, so I can't say he gets time to look at all the silly things we do most of the time. (He's still awesome, though!)

Anyway, I decided with all the stuff he makes (custom races, custom racial archetypes), and how well his turn out, I wanted to try making a custom archetype, sort of like a combination of a monk and a fighter, focusing specifically on the exotic weapons, and one in particular. (Player's choice, obviously)

The problem is that the games I'm playing in don't really have a spot for this class so far, and I'm not going to jeopardize the group by doing so.

Basically, what I'm asking is if people can:

Look at the class and make suggestions to balance it out a bit, because I'm sure it's not quite balanced.

Possibly play-test it, since i have yet to get a chance to do so?

Keep in mind I'm new and I'm openly admitting that some aspects of the class will probably be a bit too good, which is why I'm asking for help here. So I'd appreciate it if people didn't completely lay into me and say "OMG this class is OP and you're bad at designing things."

Exotic Soul-Tentative Name

The name is also tentative, and if someone can come up with a better one, please make suggestions. XP
