So how much longer do Canadians have to wait for this? :)
(or is this just the price we pay for having universal health care and a lower crime rate?) ;)

When the Enterprise escaped Psi 2000 via Cold Restart hurling them back in time 3 days, Spock notes this as unprecedented. No one had done it before in the history of any species known to the Federation. So Archer could not have ever time traveled in the same timeline.
When they encountered Lazarus, there was no other instance to prove the existence of parallel realities. So no one could have discovered one and lived to tell the tale beforehand.
This is on top of technologies 150+ years ahead of time, and whole species being altered beyond recognition.
Regarding the escape from PSI 2000, the 'Temporal Cold War', incident(s) would have been so highly classified that I doubt that it would have been known beyond a handful of dusty files and a couple of Vulcans who were alive at the time in positions of command.
In the case of Lazarus, yes, this is a case where Discovery really breaks Canon.

SCA? Who, pray tell are you in Society, and what branch do you play in?
-Lord Anthony Hawke, Black Lion emeritus, Barony of Seagirt / Principality of Tir Righ / Kingdom of An Tir
I know that these aren't 'monsters' per se, but I'd like to see a hinged door as one of the 'set dressing' pieces.
Having it hinged if possible would allow you to show if it is open or closed. Maybe even one with a bar piece?
Um, I just opened up my copy, and I noticed something that could be either a lead in for a second section of the 3rd floor, or a glaring error.
On the 2nd floor map, there are 2 large staircases sit on the east flanking a display area that has several objects on plinths.
If the stairs lead up, then there is a 3rd floor, and i wonder what such a grand staircase leads to.
If they lead down, then their lower points don't have a location on the level 1 map, and that means that the only staircase up to the 2nd floor is a 5-foot wise one in the northern section of the museum...

A Congress.
After all, they don't want things written down, they have a collective low intelligence, they destroy all that they come into contact with, and they can never be completely eradicated.
Just out of curiosity -- weren't items that were to be picked up at the Con supposed to be released to us for download once they were paid for (so we'd have access to them before the Con)?
My transaction has gone through, the items are paid for, but I haven't seen the new sub items in my downloads as yet. Could this be because the download status is hung upon the 'shipped' flag?
Anyone willing to split the cost of a cab to get there and back?

Keystone is a minor player! ;)

Order your shipment of Warstein Ale from the Trade City Callambea Today!
Is that anything like a good Lambic? What if all I can get is Warsteiner? I'd prefer a good Hefeweisen instead, but if I *had* to, I'd take any moose piss from Canada or the EU over what the yanks like to call 'beer'. ;)
OK, thanks Vic. I guess that means that I have to spend my $800 customs allowance on electronics! ;)
What are the odds of the Paizo release schedule and PaizoCon coinciding this year? Will there be the chance that we could pick up our subscriptions directly from the Con this year?

I can happily tell you that the Con rates are covering the day before and the day after the Con, at least...
Just to confirm and put people at ease, as of 1645PST today, the room block had not been filled.
In my humble opinion, a player character with a given class should have ONE and only ONE Archetype. If a player has more then one character class, then each class could have an Archetype, but NEVER more then one per character class -- even if each Archetype does not overlap in what is altered in the base class.
How many of the authors and artists will be present?
It gives me a chance to up my game -- and maybe get close to the skill level that my wife shows -- and what she can do is amazing, considering that she only painted her first mini in November....
Thanks, I missed that post, obviously... :P
Got our ORCA cards, and know how to get to the hotel from Pier 69, so all I need to do now is buy the Clipper catamaran tickets!
For those of us 'out of towners' who are not driving to the event, and relying on Sound Transit, how difficult is the site to get to from the Con hotel?
My wife and I will be there.

I was planning on much the same thing using PICs to give a flickering effect to a surface-mount LED and running them off a supercap that I could recharge from a base. The entire contraption that could be added underneath the standard 1" bases would use a flyleaf switch to they would only be active when stood upright.
I was also going to use the same mechanism to light up my haunts...

Thanks Lisa -- My wife and i got in with a Crowdforger Buddy level, but due to things being tight after Xmas (and the Runelords Collector's edition), we could not afford the $300 or so of add-ons that we wanted to get until about 3 days after the Kickstarter closed. This was both disappointing and aggravating.
Could GoblinWorks consider re-opening up the add-ons for those who pledged?

Are there any plans to include classes from the Ultimate series of books, such as the Cavalier, Alchemist and Magus?

I'm in, Psyblade.... but you already know who I am... :)
(For that matter, so is the wife!)
The wife and I would be up for this, I'm sure...

Convention Tix for the wife and I? CHECK!
Banquet Tix for the wife and I? CHECK!
Hotel booked? CHECK!
Clipper Ferry booked? That can wait a few months -- the important stuff is done!
Any word on how long until the beta test? (I should qualify - got my tix for this past summer's PaizoCon online...)
If this works well, I can see ditching my battlemat and plugging my extra laptop into the 43" widescreen TV so the players can see the map that way and move their tokens around.
I'm just curious to find out if AP subscribers will have access to the maps in their APs for use in this offering.

My stag party started out with paintball, where I had a knee go out on me, followed by dinner at a steak and chop house, and then an evening of billiards with some pretty good friends. Barely any alcohol, no strippers, and on hell of a fun time...
One point that I feel should be brought up: Everything that is being debated about poisons and honour / morality is valid, but all presuppose the use of poisons that are lethal.
There *is* another class of poisons that should be palatable to paladins and the good / lawful crowd - sophorics (sleep) and paralytics (DEX damage).
These are incapacitating poisons that wear off with no ill effect, and can be used to facilitate capture of a target.
Sounds like what you are aiming at would the "Mad Scientist" from any of the Gothic Horror movies... Frankenstein, et. al.
In that case, I would suggest a character from Ustalav....
So I have an idea for a spell that I'd like to present to my DM, and would like to get some general feedback here before I hand it over to him.
Take a Ray of Enfeeblement and change the ability damage to Dexterity. No change to the amount of ability damage, but I am unsure if the spell level should be higher, or if the save should be Reflex or Fort on this one...
Comments, advice?
Congrats to Paizo for their 5th Con! I had the fortune to be able to get tickets to the banquet, and listen in on many of the announcements of the great new items coming down the pipe.
It is with great regret that my Fiancee and I will not attend any future banquets though. The food was mostly inedible, with enough hot spices to ignite a 3-alarm fire in one's mouth, the potatoes were over-salted, spiced and dry, leaving bread and green salad as the only edible dinner items in the buffet line.
The dessert item selection was also very limited, with only 2 different items available at any given time, (and even then, what did get out was mostly an empty plate) despite there being a total of 4-6 items overall.
I am highly disappointed with the banquet, and would say that it is easily among the 5 worst ones I had been to in my lifetime.
It might be easy to say that ours was an isolated opinion, but it happened to be shared by at least 80% of the table.
Now imagine the fun of a Ray of Enfeeblement delivered as part of a Spellstrike... that crits....
Critted weapon damage + [2d6 (+2 per 2 caster levels) Strength damage].
Most melee opponents will be rendered useless after that...
*whimper*
I'm still trying to convince the fiancee that I should be allowed to have this beast... and with 18 days to go 'til wedded bliss, I don't know if I can pull it off before the preorders are all sold out... :P
Were you going to have a mock-up at PaizoCon that I could try to seduce her with?
Thanks.. been on pain meds for the last 2 days with a kidney stone. I just kept missing it! :P
Somewhere in the echoing vastness of my empty head, I seem to recall that there is either a feat, or a Magus Arcana that allows the character to convert a ray type spell into a touch type spell, but for the life of me I cannot find the reference.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Bah, don't insult my Leafs that way!
But you all realize the whole joke is that Brock used to live in Atlanta and go to Thrashers games. Then the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg. Previously, there had been an NHL team the Atlanta Flames, who moved to Calgary. A Leafs fan?!?
OK sir, try to remain calm, the nice young men in their clean white coats will be here to help you into a jacket that will let you hug yourself *ALL* day long....
Yes, I realize that there is only one cure for being a Leafs fan, and that is to see them win the Cup, but I'm afraid that makes it a terminal disease... :)
When I went to NorWesCon *many* years ago, I remember going to a place called Kobe on Union. Does it still exist?

Would they reach the far end of the main hall?
Now that I've had sufficient caffeine, I'd say that since they are also known as 'stones', that the usual range increment for a sling would apply, though their fleshy nature would indicate that they would only do d2 points of subdual damage, and necessitate a DC 15 Fort save to avoid being nauseated once the target realizes what they've been hit with.
Thanks guys! I appreciate the help. Michael, how do I find you at the Con? (and are there any "trade goods" that you'd like from Canada? Coca-Cola? Chocolate? Cool Ranch Doritos?)
Sorry, but alcohol is out of the question -- my allotment is going to the wedding officiant as a gift...
So this is my first PaizoCon, and I'm taking my fiancee to it.
I note carefully that there are 'Limited' events, that neither of us would be interested in, since we are making our first forays into PFS, and want to hit the Convocation and First Steps very badly *together*.
I look and see that the actual PFS events are marked as 'Open', so I'm thinking (from my ages-old experience with living Greyhawk) that usually there are multiple tables of the same event happening at the same time, and the chances of us getting in are pretty good if we show up.
I did *not* realize that there would be a second round of a lottery process that we had to participate in to get signed up in order to play.
Even though we are getting hitched 2 weeks after the Con, she's going to have my 'nads in a sling if we don' get to play.
Anyone able to help a brother out?
I'm arriving via the Clipper ferry from Victoria, and since I was too late to get a room in the Con hotel, I am at the Redmond Inn, which I understand isn't too far off... All that being said, i can get there via Sound Transit, and it appears that the Seattle transit system is pretty solid.
I wonder if we could get a writeup of Cardimion's Discriminating Geas. I know many casters whould would *love* to have this in their repertoire...
A shame that there wasn't a Wu Jen archetype...
I know that you can 'sort of' do one as an elementalist, but I find that is a bit too focused.
