I got Migsund 20g, Kageryu 30g, Kaervek 20g (only 4 takers on noodles x 5gp)

Migsund does indeed spend at least a full cup of tea expounding upon his theory of the collective consciousness of Pezzack and the implications for further study and missions.

Between trading spells, he finishes up his notes on each of the Pathfinders on the mission. Universally he notes healthy tolerances for danger (neither excessively seeking or avoiding), and stress indicators to track for any future therapy or diagnosis of psychoses.

He also recommends a dream therapist be assigned to Ling to deal with the trauma of their arrival method.

@GM: Ah okay I don't know the details about all of the archetypes and such. It makes sense now!

Yep - it's an exceptionally weird archetype - basically a whole other class. I consider Magus too powerful to play in general, so had to find something that dumped enough of the overly strong features, mixed with the idea of doing a psychiatrist.

According to pathfinderwiki, Pezzack has a population of about 4800 people, which falls in "Large Town" category. A large town would have up to 5th level spellcasting available, and 3d4 magic item. So, a large selection of spells available but extremely limited stock......

Just for clarity - by default settlements have a 75% chance to have any item up to the "Base Price" of the settlement. The random number of magic items are things outside of that chance (not necessarily more expensive, just separate, but could be above the base price). Doesn't usually come up in PFS. Pezzack may be very out of the ordinary on this front, not sure.

Migsund nods and steps up, waving Kageryu to the other one. "Ve are almost out of here my friends."

Migsund has Darkvision, and he and Kageryu have heroism for 50 minutes from when we set out, so pretty significantly higher Perception mods.

We needed Kageryu! Just think if we hadn't had you to use up the low rolls in the dice roller!

Migsund spends hours recording his observations of this fascinating niche culture. In the morning before setting out, he'll refresh the heroism spells on himself, Ling, Kageryu, and Tempestas.

Also I think it was Tempestas' damage, not Ling's that should have been healed, so should still have one left for Tempestas.

Also, I accept a touch of blame for the dice roller. Though Ling's 9 wasn't too bad, just.. no modifiers.

Migsund makes sure to take a moment to property identify the cure potions before making sure Ling and Kageryu drink them down. "Drink them until you're full up.

Regrouping after a while, Migsund relays, "Ze populace seems most rife with us over ze 'hit and run' aspect of ze Loyalistz accusations. Ve get to leave zis place." He seems to get lost in thought for a while, expounding on this, "Ja, perhaps subconsciously they regret throwing off ze shackles of oppression without having an adequate alternate structure in place. It would be fascinating to study ze interactions of a pseudo-sublimated neurosis regarding ze abandonment... ah..". Seeing the glazed looks, he cuts off and says, "Nevermind. Just focus on reminding them zat the Pathfinder Society has been here all along, through 'Jax', und zat ve have not abandoned Pezzack, unlike ze Throne."

Migsund considers trying to implement that himself, but is too fascinated by this interaction and tries to suss out an even deeper underlying cause.

Migsund gasps under his breath, "Total societal metapsychological introjection!". Chasing after all of you he shouts at each, "Remind them of who zey are *now*! Not Chelaxian, but Pezzackian!" He scribbles wildly in his notebook every few steps.

"Great shot Tempestas!" Migsund glances back, but calls out, "Stay under cover Kageryu!" and fires yet another magic missile at the last Strix as he rushes towards it!

Migsund calmly blasts the one to the left [red] with a magic missile from wand. Then uses a move action to run his axe along his buckler to apply the poison.

Instead of shopping, Migsund is going to return to the scorpion and attempt to extract its venom. [Harvesting Poisons rules on character sheet.]

That should be enough for 2 doses of cave scorpion, or 1 dose of giant scorpion, whichever is ruled to be there.

Recommend loading up Ling with barkskin and shield (only +2 over his own shield, but still +2). One of the L.1's for the other shield. Send Ling to open the tower up, with the rest of us ready to use ranged options, but close enough to help if needed.

Migsund realizes he's inadvertently convinced his party instead of the Docktown folk, but shrugs and tries to make it seem intentional.

"If ve do zis, ve must be very cautions. Perhaps Ling up front this time, ja? Und ve can be ready with ranged options?"

Migsund tries to reason with the Docktowners, trying to get them to agree to something simpler, point out how this will present them as the dominant force in town. "To be leaders, you must lead.

ConservativeDiplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Not too bad, but if that doesn't convince them, Migsund finds it acceptable to root out invaders in the town in exchange for the favors offered. He has a wand of magic missile he needs to use up.

"Let's be quick about it, ve need to ... 'keep the heat off', ja?"

So the White Thistles or the Docktown folks? We got along okay with Docktown (the bar), but I don't know if they're who we want on our side for this. So still leaning Thistles.

Migsund muses, "Ze Thistles are perhaps the ones better suited to tell a tale exonerating ve Pathfinders." He then takes a look at the ritual of Poppa's, noting some familiar elements.

"Ah so, ah so." Migsund chuckles to himself then looks right into the leader's eyes. "You know this man," gesturing at Olandil, "and worry if you can take him down if he resists. But my friends, you do not know ze people behind me. I have been studying them for days, und ze are ze perfect exemplars of ze Pathfinders. Surely you know their reputation: brutal killers all, who vastly exceed my own talents for destruction. Migsund chuckles again and shakes his head, "No, you do not know, you cannot know. Your dreams would be haunted were you to witness it. Allow me to show you a taste of what is in store? I promise no harm to come to you."

If they seem to agree (Migsund is being 100% honest about 'no harm', Take 10 sense motive for 21), Migsund will turn and cast a flaming sphere out over the waves, letting the brilliant ball of fire fall into the water.

Intidimate(bonus-for-spell?): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

So.. start with a longshot Intimidate. If combat ensues try for the charm person first (since they can all see us, I think it would initiate hostilities anyways), and non-lethal efforts (color sprays, etc, unarmed strike vs flat-footed) after that.

Hot damn.. not a bad chance.

Tempestas would prefer not to kill anyone unless he has to. He will defend his party though, even to the death.

Quick glance... we are surprisingly un-intimidating of a group for basically 5 fighters. My +4 is the only positive modifier. I don't think a few cutting remarks about their mommy issues will cut it. Diplomacy and Bluff are pretty low as well I think.

I presume these are the loyalists. Not fully clear if we should believe them that our way out is gone. Certainly don't mind ending them.

What y'all think?

Really great lesson on tactics honestly! Reminds me of another scenario with something nasty reaching up through the floor at you.

Kaervek's grease would come after the Scorpion.

However, regardless of which of the two squares Ting was in to the right, if needed he could 5' and do the retrieve and pass over. Since Tuke took his turn "doing this" (retrieving the scroll and handing it over), if Kageryu moves close enough for that to happen then you're good.

Oh - Tempestas has already taken his turn (Here), missed that.

With the -4 for shooting into melee, and the +4 AC from cover, most of us will miss with a missile weapon which leaves the front-liner in a tenuous position. If it was at the intersection 2 (or even 3 of us if we maneuver it), could get melee shots on it.

True, though *do* remember you (Tempestas, Ling Chang, and Kageryu) have Heroism - wasn't included on your last shot (not that it would have hit), plus it's grappling too, so AC lowered.

Tempestas could shoot, or could ready a reposition on Migsund if it let's go again. But the hp/AC differences wouldn't change things much, so I'd vote for shoot.

Very crafty for a mindless critter.

Migsund will take the full defense action instead of curing.

Just one maintain check, but yes, that would be lovely.

Tactically, since there's more 'shooters' than spaces, everyone should step back (or up) on their turn to cycle the spaces available.

The scorpion can only maintain the grapple as a standard action to deal damage, pin, or move (+constrict), unless it lets go of Migsund. The 6 on the first claw is sufficient to maintain and deal the claw and constrict damage of 16. Not applicable this round, but you can't Grab something that you've already Grabbed, so there's only ever one Constrict.

Migsund drops the dazzling blade wand, pulls out a wand of cure light wounds and activates it, total faith in his allies.

Just for the record, I'm not worried at all about surviving - hope that "dying in suspense" comment didn't come across as at all aggravated, this is a blast! Migsund is probably extremely proud of your progress coming together as a team and wishes he had his notebook out to write comments on your psychological profiles.

Am literally dying in suspense - I'm totally cool with the Scorpion taking it's turn to maul me on the assumption Kageryu won't manage to slay it.

Migsund calls out as the Scorpion thrashes him around, "I haff -- Ahhh! -- got it's attentions... shoot, shoot!."

No 50% chance to hit random target in grapples. Can shoot b/c it can't take AoOs while grappling me (since it didn't take -20 on grapple check). Shooting from where you moved is the same though, since you can choose any corner for where to shoot from (so SW corner of your square can shoot down the hall just fine) - still cover since it's half behind a wall.
