The archetypal group of a wizard, fighter, rogue, and cleric is cliche because it works, for the most part. So, I agree with Rodrick and jimibones. The other 2 should go to DM's choice for either interesting characters or party dynamics. ![]()
![]() Marton looked around, looked around for perhaps another carriage, then sighed and shrugged his shoulders when none turned up. Lighting up his own pipe for a brief drag of the already spent ashes inside, he put it away after a few moments of disappointment. He turned to the undine who it seemed had also come out to see the carriage and the commotion. He smiled, "Well, it seems that wasn't our ride after all. Why don't you just come on back inside with me, now? We can have another drink and you can cure my . . . inexperience. How's about it?" ![]()

Phew, okay. I think my character is ready. Expanded the backstory a little and I think I've accounted for all the things you needed. I would definitely appreciate some feedback if you're willing to give it. ![]()
![]() Marton nodded his assent to the undone woman. "Aye. I am a lawman, though, I wasn't quite sure how it'd be taken in such a . . . diverse crowd. But the gun-" He pulled back the edge of his cloak to reveal his pistol, secure in its holster. "A weapon is only as good as the one who wields it, but this one has gotten me out of a fee tight places without ever clearing leather." He pulled the cloak back to hide the weapon once more, his tone becoming more relaxed and conversational. "Wouldn't have pegged you for an officer of the law though. Just my inexperience, I guess. No offense, but I haven't seen many of your kind." Marton turned his head as he heard the call. He quickly finished off his drink, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He slapped a few coins down on the bar to cover his bill. "You'll have to excuse me, duty calls." Getting up from his seat, he adjusted his hat and made for the door. I know I still have to adjust Marton a little bit to fit this game's rules. I'll see if I can do that within the next hour or so. My 3 votes will go out at the end of the evening. I would definitely appreciate feedback of any sort in a PM or whatever. Thanks. ![]()
![]() Great, I'll set to work tinkering in his stats. Backstory is in the profile page and (hopefully) won't need changing. In the mean time . . . Marton had barely passed the door when the noise of the crowd hit him in the tavern. It seemed there were a great many people here, for the same reason as he, perhaps. Perhaps not everyone would appreciate the presence of a man of the law. He hid his badge in his boot and made his way to try and find somewhere to get a drink. Along the way, he made special note of a few strange faces in the crowd, including a kobold that he could swear looked like he had mana fever. It took him a moment to realize his palm was resting on the butt of his gun. He tried to relax as he made his way through the crowds. "Can I get a mug of whatever's cold and on hand?" he asked when he finally managed to find a place to take a drink. Nursing his drink, he began to scan the room, old habits kicking in. No matter where on Golarion you go, a tavern is a tavern, and Marton could think of no better place to begin his investigation. ![]()
![]() I would like to submit my gunslinger for review. I know you said they were a mixed bag, and that there was 0 support for them in the AP, but I'm not concerned. Please let me know if you decide against gunslingers. Longer backstory to come. Will be put in profile page when finished. Character Stats:

Backstory:
Marton lost his father some 20 years ago when they investigated a report of a witch in the area. Whatever ritual she was performing was interrupted and in the ensuing battle, Marton's father, Kristoff, was killed. Marton finished the job, killed the witch, and swore to destroy any witches he could find. 20 years later, Marton is handed a report of an unnatural cold in the Taldan Border Wood. Sensing this might be another witch, he sets out immediately, his blood boiling at the chance of destroying yet one more witch.
