Long Back Story:
When Cheliax was even more powerful than it is today; when it was in the last years of its Imperial glories; Roknaug Hailstraum and several other Half-Orc familes moved to just outside of Barrowood. Their dream was to build a sepertist community of Half-Orcs where they could feel safe and live a peaceful life tending the land and trading in lumber of barroak wood for ship building and shade maple used for arcane implements. They freely worshiped Erastil the god of family, farming, hunting, and trade and they lived with out insident for years. But then the Civil War spun all of Cheliax out of control for thirty years.
Roknaug was able to keep his small community out of the troubles but that may have been only because of the logging his little clan could produce. The clan was not bothered and were left alone but that didn't mean they didn't notice the changes. They were able to see the power shifts and how the new laws and diabolical followings effected the people. Being removed from the cities the clan was not effected dirrectly by the surrendering of morality to the law and order of fiends and House Thrune. They kept their worship of Erastil hidden but it did not wane.
Ragnauk Hailstraum son of Roknaug had a heart of good. He secretly hated what he saw around him. Yes there was Law and Order but at what cost. What evils were being allowed to support the rule. Ragnauk became outraged at what Cheliax had become. Several people of the clan and Ragnauk started to secretly support Revolutionaries that wanted to return Cheliax to its heyday before the rise of the House Thrune. Maybe do what Andoran had done and establish a common rule. Ragnauk had even started to help in the Bellfower Network as a tiller. It took time for him to prove himself to the mostly hafling freedom fighters but after he did he used his cover as a logger to help sneak slaves to their final destination in Andoran.
Magnauk Hailstraum, son of Ragnauk son of Roknaug, grew up learning to help others less fortunate than he was. He loved his father and knew where his family came from and believed that Cheliax could be something more something better. Magnauk knew the risks of helping others and the worshiip of Erastil, but he never thought of the costs. He learned what the costs were and they were more than steep. He never saw so many Hellknights at once as they decended upon the clans meager settlement. They were there to hand out their justice to those that went against the law. And being a secret revolutionary, a Bellfower agent, and a worshiper of Erastil was about as far as you could go against the law.
Magnauk faught with his clan and as he did a rage burst from deep inside of him for the first time ever. He faught as ferocious as a caged animal using a great axe to carve into any Hellknights that stood in his way, but there were too many for the small clan. Magnauk turned after taking down a Hellknight and never saw the metal barbed whip coming towards him. He got hit squarely in the face with the whip ripping a deep gash from the top of his forehead down to and through his upper lip. The wound barely missing his left eye as it cut through his flesh. As he fell he heard one of the Hellknights yell for the Order of the Rack before he passed out.
Magnauk was left for dead as the clans houses were burned and the dead left for the vultures to gorge themselves. But Magnauk did not die, because of the kindness of a person just passing through Cheliax. Koy found him barely alive and healed him and took Magnauk out of Cheliax. Koya took him to Sandpoint and he stayed there a short time healing and deciding what he was to due without family or clan. Koya convinced him he should seek out a temple of Erastil and find his purpose.
Magnauk followed her advice and found a temple not far from Sandpoint. He studied and found favor from Erastil in small amounts of divine power but he grew in strength even more. Magnauk has become grim yet determined to gain justice for his lost clan by enacting justice on those that deserve it. But that will have to wait because what he has learned has put a burden on his soul that must be relieved. So he has not returned to Sandpoint simply to thank Koya for saving his life or helping him find purpose, but he has come to repay her for the debt he now owes her. He is honor bound to use his life for hers until he has fully paid her back for what she has done for him. He must find a way to repay Koya for the kindness that was given to him no matter how long it takes. His life is hers and he shall spend his life in Sandpoint until his debt has been paid in full no matter how long it takes.
Physical and Mental description:
Magnauk is full of scars both physical and mental. He is unattractive to the point that Orcs find him ugly. His scars from the Hellknight attack never healed quite right leaving him looked mangled. The largest scar starts at his forehead and travels between his eyes through his nose cutting through his lips. This has left him with a bit of a slurred speech pattern but he is not unintelligible. He is large and very strong for his god has blessed him with power of body more than of magic. His broad shoulders and barrel chest make even large men seem slight.
His hatred of evil is only topped by his sense of honor at helping others be free and safe. He has adopted those in need of help as his new clan and would sacrifice himself in order to free others. He is nice to the point of gullibility but even when he finds that out does not react with anger. But if he believes someone has harmed or taken advantage of someone he will apply his judgment without remorse. He also has a blood debt he owes to Koya and plans on repaying it before he dies. He is unsure how this will ever occur but he will make it happen. In the mean time he will stay around town looking to help out where he can and looking for evil to vanquish.
Real life has come up and bitten me in the well yeah. I need to take care of personal issues and will have no time for extra stuff in my life. Because of this I will be leaving the game. I am sorry if this puts a burden on the game but my real life issues are far more important as I am sure you will all understand.
Turning to Krojan to answer him,
I try to sleep lightly but I am well rested if that is what you meant. I take it you know Madame Koya well then. She is the reason I am alive and have become who I am today. It will be a great day of honor to inact justice upon these goblins who attack without cause.
Magnauk puts his hand upon his axe and shakes his head in an affirming way as if he was agreeing with his own statement.
Magnauk wakes and immediately begins to pray to Erastil thanking his god for the ability to enact justice today. He also spends this time going over the names of his lost kin and clansmen. Those destroyed without mercy by the Hellknight's attack. He also gives thanks for Koya and what she accomplished in him.
It must be repaid no matter the cost or time it takes to do so, I must pay it in full
Magnauk rises from his knees and bundles up his belongings and dons his scale mail armor. Twirling his great axe in his hand he remembers when not too long ago it was used to carve down trees, but know it had a different purpose and he hoped it would be used for that purpose shortly.
He moves to say goodbye to Koya and wish her well while he is gone.
Koya may Erastil bless and hold you as I depart and may we be reunited soon. I know you don’t want me to be formal with you but what you have done for me deserves my respect and this is the only way I know how to show you that respect. Please forgive me but it only seems right.
Bowing deeply to her hand on heart he than rises turns and moves to the Inn where he is to meet the others.
Magnauk continues to stand near Koya, a common sight since his return. The large half-orc is covered in scars across his face. The largest a long jagged line that starts from his forehead down through his nose and lips. Not many in town have gotten to know him since he has returned to Sandpoint after many years of studying and training. He spends his time helping Koya doing anything and everything he can to ease her toil especially since her loss. In secret he has used the guise of Koya's loss to allow him the opportunity to complete his real quest, repaying Koya for what she had done for him. His life was hers though at this time she had no knowledge of his plan.
Magnauk, since he lost his clan, has not been interested in having fun. He has become stoic and serious caring only in repaying his debt and inacting justice where he can. So as the stories and laughing continue to flow from those around him, he stands there showing no emotion. But once Shalelu speaks of goblins causing trouble and the need to hand out justice to them Magnauk perks up and listens. He does not speak up quickly but thinks first and then approaches Koya and quietly speaks to her. His face betray nothing as it continues to be a blank slate.
DC 15 actively trying to listen:
My dear Koya, I believe it honorable for me to hand out justice to these vermin. But I also believe that you could use me here to help you in your time of need. I ask your permission to go with them.
Koya lets out a bust of laughter and stare up at Magnauk and replies
My dear boy, your help has been appreciated but I am old not incapable. Yes you should follow your honor
at that Magnauk straightens up and announces
I wish to hand out justice to these vermin. I will go.
Turning to Koya, Magnauk bows
I must go and prepare myself, M'Lady so if you will excuse me
If allowed to submit slightly late here is Magnauk.
If you decide I am too late it is understood.
thank you.

Without even a flinch in his stride Magnauk grown twice his height and at least 3 times his weight. He takes a massive two steps forward to close the gap between he and the abominations. He swings his great axe with precision and devestating effect down upon one of the zombies.
Overhearing the talk of magic causing the cold snap Magnauk gets up. He is large even for a half-orc and the scars upon his face are numerous. the worse scar goes from his forehead down the middle of his face splitting his left nostril and upper lip.
what is this you speak of. Bad magics causing weather change. what do you know of this?
Magnauk had spent the day in quiet contemplation and study of plant life. The unusual cold snap had caused changes in the cycle of the local plants and Magnauk found it very interesting. He always loved the the forests, trees, and plants from his childhood working with his father and the other clan cutting trees for lumber, but now his duties were different.
Magnauk strolls into the tavern looking for food and drink. He sat at a table in the corner always looking and observing others. As the serving girl came to his table he ordered,
For food what ever is hottest and and has a nice spice to it. For drink what ever is the coldest and has the biggest kick

Magnauk's clan was killed off in Cheliax.
Magnauk was saved by cleric of Erastil.
Magnauk dedicated his life to Erastil dealing out justice as an Inquisitor.
Has come to Heldren to help in temple and study plant life of Borderwood.
Short Back Story:
Magnauk born in Cheliax was part of a small clan of Half-Orcs who lived their lives trading lumber. The clan was wiped out by Hellknights because the leadership of the clan was involved in helping slaves excape from Cheliax. Magnauk was the only one to survive but only due to the saving grace of Jora a cleric of Erastil.
Without clan or purpose, Magnauk studied at various temples of Erastil and found favor from Erastil in small amounts of divine power but he grew in strength even more. Magnauk has become grim yet determined to gain justice for his lost clan. He knows getting at those directly responsible is almost impossible, but he can use his new found abilities to root out enemies of the faith and enact justice upon them. He is now moving from place to place researching any possible threats to the faith that saved him. His journey has recently brought him to Heldren in southern Taldor where he is helping in the temple of Erastil and studying plat life in the Border Wood, but is always keeping his eyes open for injustice that needs to be righted.

Female players play male characters all the time. Intelligent people have played stupid barbarians. In fact human people play elves, half-orcs, dwarves, and halflings. Writing about or playing a different gender, species, orientation is easy if you are willing to use empathy and understanding and actually take the time to understand.

I submit myself to your horrors and pains. I give myself to you.
In looking over the traits for Carrion Crown the obvious choice for me is "subject of study". Mainly since even not knowing the traits I had written in that I was already a source of study. Secondarily during our second tour togrther he taught me all I now know on defeating evil outsiders.
I humbly submit Magnauk rolled up for other games but not selected.
Professor Lorrimor actually studied the clan for a short time when I was young. He was a nice fellow and I liked him quite a bit. After the several months that he spent with us he left and frankly I never thought that I would see him again. But after the tragedy that befell me I started to wander Cheliax looking for revenge, I still want that, but I ran into the Professor once again and he convinced me to help him out on a little adventure he was on at that time. It wasn't a long adventure a week or so but it was nice to see someone that I knew and liked. The professor told me of a larger scale adventure he was gathering information on that I might be able to help him with and I immediately agreed to help in any way I could. I told him to where I could be reached, the fellow who was getting me odd jobs here and there, and as soon as he requested me I would be there. So getting the letter was not a surprise but to hear of another loss in my life was a shock. I will go and honor what I can.
I am motivated by revenge and honor. This can be my biggest strength and worse weakness. It can keep me on track but also unhinge me at the same time. I am strong and intelligent and hate that rage that lives deep inside of me. I will control it and not let myself be ruled by it. I do a good job with controlling it but a few things can overcome that control. Demons and Hellknights being the main two things.I am a multifacited individual a deep caring nature with hate that boils within me.
If I was a piece of furniture I would be a chest of drawers, Large, sturdy, but with many different compartments holding a wide range of things.
Currently in two pbp and love it. I have also played a couple of years in a group but real life has caused it to fizzle out, thus why I have turned to pbp. I generally can post 2-4 times a day easily Monday - Friday and at least a couple times Sat and Sun.
I can change the traits to match if picked.
I expect the GM and players to stay involved and help make the game interesting and fun. A good flow of role play is always a good thing.
