![]() Thank you all and after much handwringing and hemming and hawing over the final decision I've chosen the following three people to join the crusade to free Kelmarane from the clutches of the gnolls who inhabit it. Tassadan- Sonja Velfieren- Human Cleric (Theologian)
As for the rest of you thank you for make a difficult decision all the more harder. There are plenty of good characters here that hopefully someone will take heed of you all and decide to run a LoF campaign of their own. The discussion thread is linked at the top of this page so please make your way over there and introduce yourselves and I'll try to get this game underway tomorrow. ![]()
![]() Hey, it's me again.
So this is a post to tell you I have nothing to post, sorry. Just trying to keep everyone informed. Thank you for your patience. ![]()
![]() Welcome weary travelers to the Caravanserai. A place to rest and relax in safety while you discuss the events of the day. Why don't you settle down and tell me a little about yourself while I serve refreshments to help slake your thirst and my staff removes the dust and sand from your garments. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Try the dates, they're delicious! Please take this opportunity to describe your characters to each other and work out any other details you wish to discuss as well as finalize any last minute purchases. You will each be given the loan a horse or camel of your choice, if you haven't already purchased one, as well as a riding kit for said animal to use for your journey to Kelmarane. ![]()

![]() Just a quick heads up. I have a meeting to go to this evening at 6 o'clock and probably won't be home until after 9:00. So I'm going to extend the submission deadline until 9 o'clock tonight. Which means I probably won't have the final decisions posted until tomorrow morning or afternoon at the latest. @Velos the Merry- Yeah, sure. SM III sounds like a good fit for them. ![]()
![]() @Wolfman1911- Garulk's Charisma is too low, it needs to be bumped up one point.

As always, If I've missed anyone please let me know and I'll add you to the list. ![]()
![]() @Transylvanian Tadpole- Sounds interesting. I look forward to your completed character sheet. @.Syn.- I understand. Good luck and have a Happy New Year. @MacabreEidolon- Looks good. @Lumiere Dawnbringer- Looks good @shadur- Looks good. I like it better than the Urban Barbarian route. I hope to have a roster of submitted characters up later this afternoon with their various "roles" (Arcane, Divine, Martial, Skilled, etc...) for everyone to see. ![]()
![]() @.Syn.- I'm a little confused by your character, it doesn't look complete. There are two classes and two archetypes listed there. Are you going to multiclass with both those classes (Ninja/Inquisitor)? Are those archetypes the ones you're going with in those classes? As stated above Ninjas cannot take the Knife master archetype as it replaces Trapfinding and Trap sense (niether of which the Ninja gets). ![]()
![]() @Asta Blackheart & Amestri Perixunin- Both characters look good. @Badharkân- Looks good @Adad Elazar- Also looks good @Shadur- Half elves can take Ancestral Weapon alternate racial trait and take EWP with a single weapon. I'll allow Rich Parents. The starting benefit will soon fade as characters level up. @Crazy Hedgehog- In my campaigns Animal companions start out with average HP's or above. Roll it's Hit Dice and if below the average raise them to average, anything over average stays as rolled. Yes, both traits can come from the Player's Guide, but one must be a Campaign trait. @Lumiere Dawnbringer- Any alternate racial traits are acceptable replacements. Is the footman meant to be a warrior or an expert NPC? If the former use the heroic NPC array, if the latter use the basic array. Yes Magical knack is okay. @Cuàn- Let me know when your character is finalized. @Durant- Good luck @Munya- Looks good Okay, I think that catches me up. If I've missed someone let me know and I'll review your character and post any questions I may have. ![]()
![]() It's been a busy day and I haven't had time to go over the new submissions yet But I will get to them later and post any questions I have.
![]()
![]() @Dark Netwerk- I'd have to look over the Aasimar variants, but right now I don't see any problems right now. I would hope to keep to at least one post a day, but sometimes RL get in the way, If anyones going to be absent for an extended time please let me know. Yes I will be using some maps along with narration. @Christopher Rowe- The Player's Guide is actually listed as a Player's Companion. There is no free download available. You can find the Companion listed Here. ![]()
![]() @Gunk- If selected you will need to de-level your character back down to 1st level and tone down your stats to fit a 20 point buy. @LurkingTyranny- Sounds good. I look forward to your submission. @Cuan- I'm good with the Dawnflower Dissident. @gresch555- Sounds good, although I think Bard (Archaeologist) seems a better fit than Rogue. Are his parents still alive or are they truly dead? @Lumiere Dawnbringer- I think the Elf or the Ifrit would be better thematically as I can't see an Undine deliberately being in a desert enviroment. @Tassadan- Those substitutions are okay. @dolgren- Recruitment closes at 6:00 pm CDT on Wednesday January 2nd. @Grom Gnollsbane- Looks good. ![]()
![]() @Bad Man
@Jarva
@.Syn.
@Seranov- While I'm not fond of the Summoner class either if you can come up with a background that wows my socks off I'll consider it. I hate to limit people's creativity with my biases. @Majestic8705- I see no problem with the dip to get CE for free. I've seen worse dips. @Bomlicar- I see no problem with your build, but you may want to rework his background to account for being in Katapesh intead of Sandpoint. @Thaddicus- You will need de-level your character and rework your stats to suit my guidelines if selected. The reason I only allow one stat below 10 is to prevent players from gutting some of a characters stats to benefit others. ![]()
![]() Welcome and Happy Holidays everyone,
Now for the fun part, the rules:
Right now I'm looking for character concepts and background information on said character (it can be as detailed or as vague as you want (From a few lines to a full blown character profile. Just remember the more information I have the more I can make an informed decision about who will eventually join the game).
![]()
![]() I'd like to throw another character into the mix.

On the Payroll Whether he needed a bodyguard in a rough neighborhood, a guide to an isolated archeological dig, or information on a specialized topic, Professor Lorrimor was never shy about hiring professionals to help him attain his goals. Over the course of his l Background: The youngest son of a youngest son of a Taldan noble family, Marius had no inheritance to look forward to which did not stop him from trying to spend what the family had on wine, women, and song. Until one day a brush with the local constabulary forced Marius to make a choice in his life, he could continue in his current fashion and end up with less than nothing or he could make his own way in life. His decision made, he decided to follow in the footsteps of his black-sheep uncle and join the Pathfinder Society in Oppara and soon found himself in remote corners of the world raiding lost tombs and recovering ancient artifacts for the Society. On one such mission his path crossed that of a Professor Lorrimor, who needed assistance recovering an ancient tome. He was willing to pay well but no one would help because the resting place of the tome was rumored to be haunted. Marius had just finished his current mission and was waiting passage back to Absalom, so with nothing to do he decided to join this Professor on his journey. It was on this adventure that Marius discovered a kindred spirit whose thirst for knowledge and lack of fear (some might say caution) rivaled his own. Marius became fast friends with the eccentric scholar and throughout the intervening years the two often teamed up on some adventure of the Professor's. Marius was on an archeological dig, although the locals refered to it as "tomb robbing", in Osirion when the letter informing him of the Professor's passing reached him. Making as much haste as possible he arrives in Ravengro, much to his dismay, a few days after the old man's funeral. ![]()
![]() DM A_Z: I had originally taken Mage Armor as one of my first level spells, but upon further reading I noticed that the Draconic bloodline receives Mage Armor as a bonus spell at third level. so if you agree I'd like to swap that out for the spell Burning Disarm. If not, that's no biggie. That's what I get for skimming and not reading. ![]()
![]() Not exactly a reboot, more of a reimagining. The finished project:

Background: Buckwell's childhood was a typical Gnomish childhood with his days spent exploring the woods around his home in southern Brevoy and his evenings spent staring into the family fire as Grannana Burrowholme spun tales of his family's past. As the wizened matriarch told her stories, Buckwell could envision the characters in the flames acting out the tales. His favorite childhood story was the one about Great Grandmother Burrowholme dalliance, however impractical, with a prince of the Rogarvia family. As the young man grew to puberty he began to realize that he was different from other Gnomes his age as he could focus his will to create small fires. He could not believe the exultation he felt in his soul as if some ancient memory was fanned to life whenever he started a fire, much to his parents dismay. Unable to control his tendencies anymore they sent him to the city of Restov to help him learn how to control his burgeoning powers. While in the city Buckwell chafed at the restraints put upon his wanderlust and would often escape his studies to travel the countryside on his trusty pony, Nyx. It was during this time in the city that Buckwell noticed a handbill calling for able bodied adventurers to explore, map, and eventually settle the Stolen Lands to the south. Buckwell found himself unable to resist the chance to make his own way in the wilderness and, maybe, some day rule a kingdom much like the prince in his great grandmother's stories. ![]()

![]() Thanks to my daughter, and the horrendous head cold she gave me, I've had more time than I thought to go over the submissions and have come to my decision on the final group.

![]() Sorry all for the lack of posting, but my daughter has been sick since Monday night. It started with a fever of 102, then she lost her voice. But now she seems to be improving, her fever is down to an almost normal 99 and her voice is getting stronger. We're still on track for a Friday approval though, so please get your submissions in before then. ![]()

![]() Scarogoth wrote: I would be really interested in playing a character in this game, but what exactly is it you mean by PbP game -- literally on a post by post basis, or all getting together online at the same time with maptools, or something -- sadly my real-time life does not lend itself to this format, though my "posting" rate can be very good otherwise (I'm in the UK, so time zones not favourable...). The game would be played on the Paizo.com messageboards. I, as GM, would post the scene and characters would then post their reactions. Actions would then be sorted out in initiative order, then I would post a recap of what happened in that round. Play would continue until the conflict is resolved. Generally of you're available to post once a day, you should be fine.
