Still keeping an eye on the board. Hope you are feeling better there Indes.

As the temperature dropped, Lukasz went from calm stoicism to barely contained grumpiness as he worked to keep his body warm. He makes sure to spend any spare time, whether it is praying to his patron to grant him spells or simply looking out to the water, near a burning torch. "I am not meant for this kind of weather," he muttered to himself, occasionally looking to the horizon in front of the bow for indications that their destination neared.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Though he had not traveled much with Payn, he had been around her long enough to know that she wasn't one to draw her blade outside of two reasons, and now wasn't the time to be sharpening blades. Raising a hand calmly, he replied "Unfortunately, out other wares are already claimed. Bad for business to give it to someone else, even if they might be able to beat the offer. Pleasure doing business with you."

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Lukasz is pretty single-mindedly focused right now and not the type to resort to violence if it isn't needed. In essence, he sees himself as playing the long game. WHEN House Darius and the Church are taken down, anyone who was treated fairly might look more fondly on those that took the Kingdom down. The world must go on after all. Either that, or it leaves these primitives more trusting and easier to enfold in the hopefully growing clutches of Asmodeus' new realm on the Material Plane.

That being said, he won't lose much sleep if the group does end up slaughtering these people.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Lukasz offered the mithral scrap as he took the ivory in exchange. If the exchange happened without incident, Lukasz nods his head and states, "It is done. May your hunting go smoothly." Though Lukasz looked calm, he was eager to have the men leave so they could get back to the mission at hand. More so since Payn's bloodlust seemed to be getting more difficult to contain.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Not wanting to draw more attention than necessary to their group, Lukasz looked over the ivory and stated, "Seems a fair trade." Then, looking up at the one speaking for the Yutak group, he drew out the mithral and followed up with, "Do you have a practice for coming to agreement on such a trade? Admitedly, I don't have much experience in the practices of your people."

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Smiling pleasantly, Lukasz nodded at 'Amelia' before stating, "Well we don't have much that we could trade ourselves. We do have some mithril that is quite valuable that we could see parting with. How much ivory to you have available to you?"

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Tucking the symbol of Asmodeus out of view as the Yuktak boat drew close, Lukasz did his best to take on the air of a merchant and waited until the Yutak spoke to say, "That would depend on what you are trading. And what you value in return."

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Feeling as refreshed as he was likely to feel while forced to sleep on deck, Lukasz looked in the direction the sailor was pointing as he stated, "Captain...who are they?" His fingers rested lightly on his weapon, wary of some trick or such that might be played on their group.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Lukasz, glad that the Captain finally decided to continue with the mission, nodded in response. Though he looked calm, his frustration at the Captain continued to boil as the group moved back onto the ship. He would see the Captain dead...once his usefulness had run its course.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Perhaps I should have let Leekoo give that roll a try...though knowing his Goblinness, anything that would be found, he would simply eat.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Though unskilled in looking for what the Captain wanted to find, Lukasz kept his eyes peeled for any sign of movement that would tip them off to where 'water' might be.

Wisdom Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Tightening his fists at Odenkirk's stubbornness, Lukasz nonetheless remains calm, even pleasant. "If that is the case, then allow me to lead one of the boats tomorrow. I may not be an apt sailor, but mayhaps my wisdom may help in finding the best places to spot what we search for."

Better to help with what this fool wants now and speed us along towards our goal and hopefully a sweet end to our dealings with this man, he finished in his mind.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Thanks for keeping us updated. And no worries, I will be around when you are fit to post again.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Hearing the Captain's declaration of spending another day 'gathering water', Lukasz now firmly on board, stated, "Captain, are you certain additional delay is necessary?"

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Lukasz gets Leekoo's attention before saying, "Watch over our comrade when you can and keep a sharp eye out." Then, he also boards a boat figuring it best to split the group evenly than to have one stranded on her own. He didn't have much experience in sailing, but perhaps what he lacked in experience he could make up for through his natural intuition.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Glad to see you back. Want to note that I am switching out Summon Monster 2 for Bull Strength for the day.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

"If it will shorten this delay, then I will participate as well," Lukasz responded rather curtly.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Spent, Lukasz prepared to sleep as best he could on the constantly rocking boat. It was obvious that the former barrister was irked at the delay in their arrival, but for now they all were at the mercy of their greedy Captain. He bided good night to the others of his group and turning to the goblin, stated, "Leekoo, please ignore any urge you have to burn while on this ship. If you feel the need to eat, only eat one of the dead sailors or trail ration, we don't need to be any more short handed than we alr day are." His words to the goblin were said more due to him not knowing what the wily goblin might during the night than responding to any actions or words Leekoo might has done or said. Once at rest, Lukasz only wakes at midnight to offer up muted prayers to Asmodeus and renew the energies that his patron grants him.

For Allyson:
Being pulled aside, Lukasz listened to Allyson's concerns with a contemplative look. Nodding that he understood, he responded, "Yes, she does seem to embody more the wrathful side of this group, a side even our Patron has assuredly. That can be useful in the right situations, though I agree that this is not one of those times. I thank you for the trust you are placing in me. Just know that so long as you are doing what it best for the mission, then I will do well by you." With that, he bids the swords woman good night.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

"I say patience Payn, for Allyson has a point. Better for us to give in to the Captain's whims for now and get us to our destination," Lukasz whispered in response to Payn's and Allyson's words, "Keep alert however, and should the Captain or his crew intentionally try to hamper our arrival to our destination, then we can levy our ire against him with impunity."

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Letting you know that my ability to post will be a bit more limited beginnings today, 12/21 through 12/26 as I go on Christmas vacation. If my lack of posting during this time slows down game progress, please feel free to DMPC me.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Seeing through the Captain's lie, Luaksz simply glares at the big man for a moment, before leaning back and giving Odenkrik a smile of acquiescence. "Of course Captain, it is your ship after all." With a name like Seal Isle, Lukasz could hazard a guess at the man's intention with some certainty. If this was true, then the big man lost a bit of respect in the former barrister's mind. As for assisting the crew...I too don't have any experience at sea. The extend of my familiarity with the subject in limited to the odd book on the matter I found in the library back home."

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Lukasz presses his lips in frustration as the Captain's words. Time was of the essence in this quest and he knew that they would need to answer to the Cardinal about any delays. However, the cleric makes sure to measure his tone when he responds, knowing that they were not in much of a position to argue after the poor showing they displayed in the last melee. "If we are truly short on water, then give me a good night's rest and I can get water enough for the whole crew."

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Keeping silent, giving the image of someone who has been cowed by the large boat captain, Lukasz simply slips his long sword back into its sheathe as he does his best to walk upright in the rocking boat. Their group had indeed not been enough to protect the boat and he wasn't sure how the goblin would be after the lose of its mount. He would need to be ready he thought to himself as he followed after the Captain.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Feeling spent after that combat, Lukasz raises a hand, placing it between Payn and Odenkirk. As he did, he looked to Payn with a look that stated caution. Then, turning to the Captain, He followed up with, "You are right...we were ill-prepared for what we would face in these waters. But getting incensed by this fact will not help the matter either. Now if you intend to keep in the good graces of those who paid you, then you had best continue doing what you do best in order to help us complete that which was tasked to you. And we will do ours." He stood tall as he spoke and simply stares into the Captain's eyes, waiting for Odenkirk's response.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Cursing himself for succumbing to the mercreature's magic, and with no more magic he could levy against their enemies, Lukasz once more draws his blade, dropping the borrowed bow in the process. Summoning his Lord's gift for trickery again, he creates another double of himself as he prepares to step back into battle.

Move action to use Copycat ability which lasts for 3 rounds. Standard action to draw longsword.

Hey all,

With Thanksgiving coming up I will probably not be able to post over the next couple of days.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

The elemental now 'standing' right in front of him, Lukasz's bow became more of a hindrance than a help. Instead, he reached out with his free hand, invoking the infernal powers to affect the creature.

OOC and actions:
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Successful touch attack to sicken the elemental for 1 round.

Posting in case it comes on to my turn over the weekend

Not able to commit himself to attacking the fishman who cast the spell, he focuses on one of the other fishmen instead, loosing an arrow.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

I am having the same issue in viewing the map. Also, thought it falls on teh weekend, and thus might not affect the game much, I will be away form my comp for the weekend for a wedding and not able to post during that time.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Bow and arrow now in hand, Lukasz draws the arrow back until the feathering brushes his cheek. His hand quivered, showing he is a little out of practice, before he let go however, something came over him and he relaxed his grip, keeping his hand still on the bow string as he did.

"Payn, looks like it is up to you to end that creature."

Will save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Apologies,

I admit that work has been hectic. That and for some reason, the website has been really slow in loading at times. I am eager to continue but understand if your would prefer to get someone else.

Continuing its attack, the squid lashes out at the other water creature. Meanwhile Lukasz searches around for another bow, his other ranged options expired for him.

Squid continues to attack and grapple on a successful hit. Lukasz spends his action looking around for a ranged weapon and will pick it up, if he has the actions available.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Unable to reach Leekoo who threw the flames at it, The squid continues to lash at the fishman, attempting to wrap its tentacles around the "man" if it hits. With the exchanging vollies resulting in some of his allies getting injured, Lukasz leet's loose another prayer as the smell of brimestone and urge to pledge allegiance to Asmodeus again comes upon all evil beings injured in the area.

Squid continues to attack, Lukasz channels energy to heal those who want it. They gain a use of the Devil's Pact feat, which grants a +2 profane bonus on any one d20 roll.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Though unseen in the water form the boat, the fiendish squid, spotting enemies, races towards the assailant on the lest side of the ship, lashing out with its tentacles to attempt to grab the crossbow wielding fishman.

Lukasz, in the meantime, nearly spent on spells and grimacing in pain at the arrow that struck him, concentrates for but a moment, channeling his infernal lord's power to create a duplicate image of himself. Once that is finished, Lukasz also looks around to find a ranged weapon he can use.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Grapple check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Lukasz: Move action to use his Copycat Domain power, which will last for 3 rounds. Remainder of actions to find a bow and arrows that he can use. Fiendish Squid: Move to assailant on the left and attack, if attack succeeds then will attempt a grapple.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

With no ranged weapon of his own, Lukasz hoped the spell he had cast on his associates and the crew would be enough assistance to end the creatures who dared attack them. In case it wasn't however, the former barrister channeled additional diving power to summon forth a fiendish sea creature to assist.

Full round action to cast summon monster II and summon in a fiendish squid to attack the crossbow fish creature who is further away. Reminder that pcs and ship crew get +1 to attack from bless.

Seeing She and a sailor drop to the ground, Lukasz decided to ensure the health of the others on this expedition. With that, Lukasz issues a command, as the smell of brimstone fills the noses of those in the area and a beckoning to promise loyalty to Asmodeus falls upon all evil creatures in the area. Those that give in to that beckoning feel the heat and brimstone trun into soothing energy that closes wounds.

Channel energy: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 All who comply heal 8 hp in damage and get one use of the Devil's Pact feat for the next 3 minutes.

Leveling his hand towards one of the fish men, he chants a prayer, implanting an urge for the man to attack his companion.

Casting Murderous Command (Will save DC 15) on one of the fishmen in melee. failure means he will attack his nearest ally for one round.

With only one more elemental on deck, Lukasz slashes out with this blade in an attempt to end it's existence on this plane.

Attack on elemental, bonus from Bless already included in roll.

Surrounded on two sides as he was, casting was a dangerous proposition. So instead, Lukasz lashes out with his blade, the blessing on him and the others defending themselves flowing through him as he attempts to strike at the creature that the ship's captain was attacking.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Startled at the commotion, Lukasz lookes up to see water moving up onto the deck of the small ship. Suddenly surrounded by water that moved on its own, Lukasz keeps and eye on the creatures around him. "Attacking a ship unawares? What honor do you have?" He calls out as he stands and incants a blessing onto his comrades.

Move action to stand, standard to cast Bless.

Concentration check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 to cast defensively, if needed.

"We shall see. I can speak their tongue if need be, but let's just hope this Fireaxe is wiser than I have heard most of their kind are. If not, then we will simply have to demonstrate why the Cardinal put us in charge of this task," Lukasz spoke confidently with a grin at the end, hinting that he was not above using might and intimidation, if need be.

Male Human Aristocrat 1 / Unholy Barrister Cleric 3; AC 15; HP: 31/31; Init: +4; Fort: +6 Ref: +2 Will: +10; Perception: +9

Gaze fixed on the ship as it moved out of view, Lukasz's face shifts back to his own as it does. "Better than those who were promoted above me. I hope to be able to use these skills against them in the near future. I appreciate the praise, but let us hope we can make the rest of this journey unmolested."

At Leekoo's outburst, Lukasz grinned calmly before responding, "Worry not little one. I have a feeling that there will be time and room enough for your 'booms' in our dear Master's plans."

With that run-in now past, Lukasz attempts to get comfortable as the ship continues on its journey.

Keeping the stance of a man use to being listened to, he calls back, "Well I am Major Janis Held of His Highness' Army, and my orders are from the King himself. Those aboard have been hired or requested to assist with the King's business to the North. Now let us continue on our way, Captain or realize that you work against King and Lord by detaining us." He purposely give no more information than he needs to and stands resolutely after giving his order.

Whispering, Lukasz says, "Then we will ensure that they don't Captain. Hold back but be ready should this go south," As the ship drew up, Lukasz stood guised as the military commander persona he had put together. Standing tall at the railing on the side the ship approached from, he called back, feigning the pomp and confidence he had heard military commanders use in the past "Approach. But know that you will not board until I know who proclaims to speak with the King's authority." Lukasz makes sure to stand so that his military helm and symbol of rank are clearly visible.
