It has been specifically stated in the rules that RAW < RAI. I do not consider the wording problematic because the intent is so fantastically clear. You get to play a RMA. Therefore the boon is going to give *access* to the things you need to take the archetype. It is not going to change the proficiency requirement. You still need to find a way to gain proficiency in the advanced weapon. You still need to be a part of the organization, so you need Secondary Initiation. Worship of Achaekek is clearly intended to be a part of the boon.

I believe that fixing the wording of a clear intentioned boon is a waste of Paizo's time.

Yeah. Proficiency is one of the requirements for the archetype. How one gets proficiency is a bit moot, there are a few ways.

Whether or not the boon gives access to proficiency or access to purchase is also a bit moot. If access is necessary for proficiency, then it would be presumed that the boon gives access. If there is no 'access to proficiency' and it is just 'access to purchase', then it pretty much ends up at the same thing. This is because it is not necessary for the character to purchase the weapon(s) to qualify for the archetype, merely gain proficiency.

As for moving forward, I think it is a solid point to suggest that 'access to proficiency' is not a thing.

Secondary Initiation does not give access to sawtooth saber. Sawtooth saber does not have "Access: You are a member of the red mantis assassins" and it doesn't have "access: You are from Mediogalti island" either, so neither Secondary initiation nor world traveler give access to it. Which is why this is such a hassle.

Additional issue with boon 2 is that while it says you get "access to all common and uncommon options which require membership in the red mantis assassins", there's actually nothing saying that sawtooth saber requires membership in it.
It is very Reasonable to deduct that the boon means sawtooth sabers too, but that is not what the boon says.

Sure, if there is no standard way (i.e. Secondary Initiation) to gain access, then it falls in the same category as worship of Achaekek, the boon itself covers it.

As I was getting at and HMM said, boons are intended to work. They are not intended to give empty promises. The only reasonable way to interact with this boon is to presume that it gives access to things that one can not generally gain access to.

Yes, I'm aware of the wording of the boons themselves. But I, and other GMs as well, have the ability to think for ourselves. As such, I repeat, it seems pretty straightforward to me.

Boon 1 requires an additional acp purchase of the Secondary Initiation boon. After that acp purchase, the character has access to train in sawtooth sabers and would be considered a member of the red mantis assassins. As for the worship of Achaekek, that would presumably be covered by the boon 1 itself.

Boon 2 could be read to not need the purchase of Secondary Initiation. Though, access to doesn't necessarily mean that one is a member of the organization. So, just to be safe, I'd suggest the purchase of the SI boon. So, pretty much like boon 1.

Boon 3 is just access to worship Achaekek.

Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Hey all, I'm introducing a friend to pfs and I want them to try pbp. Would someone be willing to run one? I guess it'd be ideal if it were a repeatable for my sake, but it doesn't matter that much.

I think you are mistaken. The goal is for all characters to operate under the same rules. This is for ease of GMing.

From a slightly different perspective, it may be best not to GM. The purpose of this game is for everyone to have an enjoyable time. This includes the GM. Many of us engage in this game for a little break from rl to relax and play in a way that we find enjoyable. If there are people whose play is incompatible with yours, it is what it is. Neither is wrong, merely incompatible. Accept the incompatibility for what it is and move forward accordingly. Often, I find, avoiding incompatibility works well enough. It is certainly less than ideal, but it is a compromise.

I have some people who I enjoy playing with and request that I join their games. And, I've also been kicked out of games and probably been listed as incompatible to some other players. This is a game with expansive opportunities to derive enjoyment. It is inevitable that there will be some irreconcilable differences sometimes.

Thanks GM! That enemy is brutal, but, i personally don't mind a really difficult fight every so often.

Even without the RK check, tactics can beat this enemy.

As for the RK, it is rare to see someone with food written on their character sheet. So, once achieved, it requires some hand wavyness anyway.

There are 6 of us plus Wolfie. With Fortiva being invisible, that makes six targets.

As a reminder to those with Haste, move attack, attack, move makes for a solid turn to also keep you out of danger.

Also, question to the GM, how does Fortiva has Doomed 3? Do doomed values stack?

Leo dodges the swipe from the librarian, using the falling rubble for cover. He then braces himself and raises the arm of his free hand as if it held a shield and says, "Scutum." A mostly translucent shield of black and white appears on his arm.

Leo raises his sword and points above the librarian and shouts, "Ignis!". A firey explosion emanates from a point just above the wall behind the librarian.

When Squash breaks down the wall, Leo curses under his breath. He quickly looks over to Patrick, "Whelp! It looks like a change in tactics." He then touches his hand to his chest and says "Sana." Many wounds heal on Leo's body.

Leo then rushes over to the new hole in the stone wall.

Leo gives a quick smirk at his plan working and then focuses once more. He focuses on a point about ten feet above the new wall (30ft up). "Congelo!" he shouts and an explosion of ice, sleet, and cold overwhelms the area.

Leo feel his life energy overwhelmed causing immense pain. But, what concerns him even more is the intense feeling of impending dread. This wasn't natural. He had been in many dangerous situations before. Wounds can be healed. But this..this threatened his life and that of his team in a different way. Something drastic had to be done. A switch flipped in Leo's mind. Now, all options were on the table. Fighting fair was defenestrated.

Leo looks around quickly and desperately. There was some space between the Librarian and his allies.

Leo releases a gauntleted hand from the grip of his sword and slams it, palm open on the floor. "Lapis!" A wall of stone erupts from the floor, surrounding the librarian, towering 20ft high.

Firstly, as the GM didn't activate Leo's Glimpse of Redemption, I would like to choose for it to be activated upon the damage to Wolfie.

Your foe hesitates under the weight of sin as visions of redemption play in their mind’s eye. The foe must choose one of the following options:
*The ally is unharmed by the triggering damage.
*The ally gains resistance to all damage against the triggering damage equal to 13. After the damaging effect is applied, the enemy becomes enfeebled 2 until the end of its next turn.

Secondly, a reminder to them who has the rank 7 Haste scroll...it would be useful..

Leo ducks from the poorly aimed swipe from the librarian and shouts, "Fulgur!". A line of lightning beams from Leo's sword tip through both enemies and crashes into a bookcase. He follows the lightning up with a thrust from his, now crackling, sword.

Lightning crackles down Leo's sword and bolts toward the creature. It then arcs to the Librarian.

As before, Leo follows it up by flinging the electrified sword at the creature.

Leo carefully walks around the room, his steps causing a distortion of noise. He looks at the tiles and the walls first, spiraling in to end with an examination of the owl.

"'The darkness' can make reference to simply a lack of light," Leo muses as he walks. He later adds, "..or the space between planets.."

"Hmm...gugs...darkness...I wonder..." he mumbles as he makes it to the owl. He takes time looking over the owl. "There's an indent on the beak here. Maybe it is some sort of button. Owls often symbolize the guardians of the night."

"Oh, given all of the stuffs we've experienced since getting here, I'm thinking Dark Tapestry."

Leo quickly analyzes the situation and seems to steele himself with his resolution. He focuses and begins running in toward the fray, his armor clinking heavily. As he passes by Squash, he says, "Sana!" A dim glow surrounds the leshy and some of his wounds close. Leo continues on and braces himself as he moves in next to the fallen creature.

Seeing the creatures, Leo tightens his grip on his sword. "For the sake of Csilla! You will be vanquished!" He plants his feet and points the tip of his sword at the nearest monstrosity (Red). "Fulgur!" he exclaims and electricity crackles from the haft of his sword along to the tip and then booms, racing to the creature. "Arcus!" he follows up as the bolt reaches the target (hopefully blue then yellow) causing the bolt to arc to the other two.

He then quickly rears back and launches his blade that remains crackling with electricity toward the same creature. It flies with unnatural speed and spins as it goes causing a mixture of sound between a buzz saw and a sparking power line.
