Hero Lab
How does this compare with, say, myth-weavers or Chummer?

Hero Lab is an automated character sheet maker. Similar to Chummer if I recall, but even closer to PCGen. Hero Lab gives you a free demo taste of all systems if you want to try it, but if you want to use the systems and export and save stuff, be prepared to spend some money (the cost of getting up to date in Pathfinder is silly huge at this point, though you will save a lot of time).

A Pathfinder character sheet made in Hero Lab and exported with BBCode, using a few subsystems of the game.:

What books and music, should we read and listen to help inspire and get a feeling of what kind of game Starfinder will be?

Tangent: Will Starfinder be supported on Hero Lab?

Disclaimer about Sword Art Online... oh boy...

Written during the era of Everquest, this series was an attempt to predict how MMOs may to be played with less social players in mind (to put that backstory in a too long; didn't read).

The series contains content pertaining to death, rape, AIDS, torture, tentacles that bully a lolita character, and dialogue that repeats itself endlessly.

Viewer discretion is advised. Please know what you're getting into with this anime before it shows up.

Please... don't recommend SAO to people. At least recommend it only after giving an in depth disclaimer.

And to be on topic! What your core inspiration for characters, campaigns, RP styles?

I have a question for everyone still debating this and I'm honestly not sure if I should make a new thread over Pathfinder RPG General or not.

What is Mythic to you? What did you want it to be and how do you see the final product sans errata and third party products?

For myself, I see Mythic as... Exalted, Greek mythology. Which is pretty much exactly what I wanted to see in the final product. How do I see the final product of Mythic, I see Pathfinder the Superhero variant, a Power Ranger take off. This is a not bad thing, but a case of mislabelling things.

Seriously, I'm idly playing around and designing a Power Rangers game with Mythic. It works a lot better then throwing several levels of Monk onto the players. ^^

I have to agree, in general terms, with what Magnuskn is saying here. Half of the new rules and classes just seem to break whenever my groups even so much as look at them.

Grab a couple of free or cheap low level modules and read over them. Most of Paizo's module line are designed with inexperienced players and GMs in mind. The higher level modules tend not to be. Lots of tips and hints there.

Funded. Completely. Within eleven hours. I wonder if the company is shocked.

I was go say that Paizo messed up their own fluff but...:
Academy of Secrets, page 25, first column, Cleanup and Aftermath

In the aftermath, however, the staff and students of the Acadamae (and perhaps the PCs as well) are astonished to see that the bodies of the various devils do not disappear, indicating that these were not summoned fiends, but rather actually present on the Material Plane.

Okay, seems that I've always misread that part. So... more support for James Jacob's answer! Straight from a module.

I don't think the hardcover core books have come out yet, nor do I think that the playtest would have covered your question.

Depends on the GM, avr. Some GMs will tie together several encounters per hex, others that are in the majority won't.

Basically the same as in Kingmaker with a few fluff suggestions, a list of resources and a suggestion that you the GM adjust things as needed. The rules also change one kingdom turn being three months instead of one as you're supposedly playing a longer lived race.

Skimmed through the module, not looking for anything in particular besides for things that jump out at me. And I have only this comment after my skimming.

Because some people will complain.:
Why is there a full page, transparent background image of a Cloaker in flight? >_<;;; I know there's an encounter with one, but why a full page showing of the monster?

I must confess I regret that the text about Iomedae loathing "fiend-spawn" remains uncomfortably open as to what qualifies for that term. :(

She's just so uptight that's how she ends up pronouncing love.

Brought to you in part by The Iomedae Tsundere Coalition.

Lets not forget the event in Wrath 5~ SPOILERS!

Yep, I can see that happening now. Poor Iomedae~

The simple answer is idiots that have not thought things through.

I've seen several decent to horrible petitions being passed around here. But this is the first one I've ever seen that makes me want to facepalm and then go get drunk.

I'm expecting a lot of errata to be released when we get the second printing of the ACG, more then any other Paizo product to date.

As for being on topic, I'm simply thinking that the rule is for the play test only. But if goes into the printing of the book, then it will be expanded upon and given a decent explanation. If not... then what GreyWolfLord said, Rule Zero.

To summarize:

GMs find more offense at the two pages or so of text about Iomedae punishing players for being creepy and or evil or just forgetful or something else.

Upon hearing about this, I'm much, much more worried about why the editors felt such things were needed and had to be spelled out in such detail. For the first time, we have a module that allows players to interact with a god, to gain some personal insight on the goddess herself that would never be spelled out in non-social encounters... and we get more information about what to do with people and players that clearly won't have lasted this long into the game and a PC group kidnapping then ideas for how to RP the goddess.

Throne of Night and the first of the AA books have been sent out! I hope Slaad and Dieben enjoy their PDFs!

2 items left of Abandoned Arts - Pick your product, the Class Acts Compendium is not being offered for this, sorry! Though if you do like any of the smaller Class Acts, I do recommend it.

And thank you again, Mikaze for starting all of this. ^^

Huh, another post after all. ^^ Will send the PDF your way tomorrow, once I'm back from work.

Underlings are yours, MoFiddy!

Good! ^^ Will be downloading the single PDF within the week and shall see about updating my review then!

Alright, lets get my give away thread underway! Normally I'd issue everything as raffles, but I'm not in the mood to set raffling things up. So straight up, ask for it and its yours. And please, one per person is all I can say.

Items offered are...

1 item of Minotaur Games - Rule Zero: Underlings
3 items of Abandoned Arts - Pick your product, the Class Acts Compendium is not being offered for this, sorry! Though if you do like any of the smaller Class Acts, I do recommend it.
1 item of Fire Mountain Games - Throne of Night — Book #1: Dark Frontier

I hope that everyone has had a happy holiday yesterday.

I have two examples.

The first and latest was a sci fi game with no fluff what beyond 'yeah, this is deserty type planet' or 'welcome to the wookie home world'. I think we even stopped at Nar Shaddnar but I couldn't tell as there was no impression that this place was any different then anything else we've visited.

The second one... lets just say that we were level 9 and still using our level 5 starting gear. Loot was hard to come by. Fun GM otherwise, I often mirror his approach to GMing when it serves my purposes.

The road of the GM to become good is long and fraught with perils. I spent years being a bad GM, experimenting, trying to find my groove until I became the GM I am now. Just cut the new GMs some slack and offer input or ways to improve, when asked or when you're just talking with your GM away from the table.

Last I checked, there's an Oracle archtype that gives Trapfinding.

Freeform body and mind morphing RP. One person changed me from an icy b&!!$ to Kyonko and everyone else agreed that the name and developing personality fit me. From there, it just stuck.

I hate running or playing Sci-Fi tabletop games besides Star Wars. I try to run/play them, I really do, but I just can't get into them.

I'm hoping that I have better luck with Shadowrun.

Dotting and waiting to see just how things will be on this.

I believe the answer back when the APs were first introduced was four player characters at fifth teen buy point. Just know that even with a party of seven PCs at thirty buy point, there will be near total party wipe areas.

Besides hoping that Magnuskn's comment is only for his game... I have a Paladin that took the trait with Iomedae and a cleric with Gorzeh. Not to mention how happy I am just to not GM for once!

Am looking forward to seeing just what this trait comes to now that I've stopped b@&$&ing about the traits.

Silly Zerg, the question of which is better is always debatable! ^_^ But this isn't the thread for that.

Marketing done right by Legendary, no annoyances besides hinting towards being yet another monster manual.

Paizo and all other companies don't support VTTs, period. Once Paizo's own VTT comes up, they'll pretty much be the first first party company that will have to support the technology that many of us work with. I will grant though, that D20Pro seems to fix the map issues we all have.

Reign of Winter: Started the first module the day of after release as a PDF, just attained the Mantle. Fridays are a cursed, cursed RP day.
Which book is the Mantle in? What level are you guys at now?

First book and they just reached level 3.

Length of time varies from group to group, day to day. Some times, your group just can't play or you can't run. Let me quickly just post up how much time I've spent on a few things.

Kingmaker: First game lasted eight months and we never finished the second book. Second game lasted five months and I never touched the second module. Third game lasted five months and I just touched the fourth book. Fourth game is on its fourth month and the first module with a variety of new events and sites hasn't been finished.

Note on the above: All games but the last one ended.

Skull & Shackles: First module book was finished after a month, the second module was on going for three months before I called it to an end.

Legacy of Fire: First module book took two months, the second module took up to four months before I ended the game.

Reign of Winter: Started the first module the day of after release as a PDF, just attained the Mantle. Fridays are a cursed, cursed RP day.

Going on to the original topic; my suggestion would be... none of them. None of the Adventure Paths are good for complete beginners, instead I would suggest the Beginner Box and several of the free modules offered by Paizo. If the GM has some experience as a GM and the players no experience as players, I would hazard towards Rise of the Runelord or Crimson Throne. If there is some experience with the system and roleplaying in general, the Skull & Shackles, Carrion Crown, and Legacy of Fire.

Please, seriously, leave Kingmaker alone until the entire group is experienced and you all know each other's styles. Wait a year or two before trying to run this AP.

The Midwest is a nice, cheap place to live. Jobs are an issue over here, but that depends on your skill set (you don't want to be IT trained around here for example). Schools are nice and on the cheap side, the lowest I know of is less then $100 per credit which might have changed since I left college.

As for the LGBT... avoid the boonies and small population areas. Otherwise, most people just won't care or will vaguely curious so long as you don't shove anything in their faces. But that's my personal experience so don't take my word on it.

X-Com, Ys I and II Chronicles, and Star Drive for myself. Supreme Commander 2 for a friend. Giving me a rough total of $30 spent.

I would recommend against purchasing Star Drive, the game is still in dire, dire need of patching, updating, and something to kill the early game drag. First and second time I played, I started up a few things and walked away from my computer for a few hours so I would have something to do.

Will wait and see what information will be given on this AP then. Thus far, the announcement is only telling of the gender of the writers, the title of the AP, and of a single inspiration.

Early announcements are nice, I will say, but what has been given thus far just makes me think that you've jumped the gun while it was still in the hostler.

Great to hear.

Now, what is the plot? What type of adventure path is this going be?

I'm personally hoping that the name of this product will get changed to something else. Currently the name just causes me to think of... and borrowing the words of a player of mine...

Whether it's negative levels, ability damage/drain, poison, energy damage, diseases, something else altogether

Edit: Granted, everything does depend on the sort of game being run. Some games may have the party starting off at level 1 and fighting giants or trolls (hopefully modified with a few CR reducing templates), others may have the group starting off fighting the underlings of the Hells. Other campaigns may have a lot of baddies that deal with stat damage or drain, while you're kitted out for the more normal HP model of combat. Hints and tips on all sorts are nice.

The mock up cover reminds me of Exalted. In a good way.

An interesting idea, one I hope will be of use for everyone that buys it.

... Thanks for the information, Jason. Now I'll have to browse the D20PFSRD's store to see if they have the same pdfs up that I was eyeing over at Drivethru so that the developers can get more of their fair share of the profit.
