Spotting a moment of weakness from the Mummy behind him, Klatzu shouts above the din of battle to his companion. "SIVA! ABOUT FACE!" The wolf twists against the zombie hoards as fur and muscle are torn by their claws, getting within reach for her rider to strike the decisive blow. As the goblin drops his shield and lifts his sword skyward, he gives forth a mighty shout, "MILANI! MAKE KLATZU'S FOES FERTILIZE GROUND ANEW!" As the chant is heard by the divine host, the hammered sheet metal encompassing the blade begins to unfold with holy light, causing the sword's size to double in an instant before cleaving the Mummy in twain!

No shield up this turn; will use Champion's Reaction on whoever gets hit by the Zombie Hoard with the least HP prior to making their save roll, giving them a free Step out of the hoard if they so desire.

Klatzu is a degenerate Crafter and I need to figure out what he's making next, so I'll do some research and get back to you on that.

Oh right, I'm still missing a Resilient Rune. Crafting.

Crafting vs IL 8 DC24: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
Success, due to Crafter's Workshop, the initial start time to begin work on reducing the price is reduced to 1 day. Due to being Field Commissioned, Klatzu spends the remaining 5 days working to reduce the final price of the resilient rune by 3gp per day, knocking 15gp off of the final price, plus an additional 3gp due to using shoddy materials through the Junk Tinker racial feat for 18gp reduction in total. Klatzu will continue work on this into the next scenario.

Klatzu is also slow-tracking this scenario, due to being a level 8 with 8xp and wanting to play part 2 with the same character if possible.

Shaking himself back into focus, the goblin shouts a warcry as the undead swarm around him, readying himself to defend those behind him!

Liberating Step if the Mummy hits with its first attack vs someone adjacent to it at start of the turn, so that they can step back and force a move action from the Mummy, and a quick shield block first attack that hits Klatzu; otherwise, if the mummy misses its initial and secondary attack, Shield Block twice vs anything that connects with Klatzu.

Not sure if I can eat more damage at this point since it seems this stage of the chase is mostly resolution, but would be willing to take damage to save points if the option is still on the table.

EDIT: guess we're about to find out how much damage we're talking about here, lol. If Crit Failure is both Damage and a loss of Pathfinders, then Klatzu will hero point it; if we lack that information at this point then I'll continue with the assumption that we can prevent point loss by having Klatzu soak the damage.

@Daggertooth: You're making me incredibly disappointed that I did not choose to play my Flames Oracle for this, considering he is literally a hodgepodge of professional wrestlers in the body of a Kobold. Yes, he does also have Gladiator Lore, iirc.

@ most recent post's OOC section: I'm assuming Lore's presumably easier DC would be worth the one point difference, although I have no way of actually knowing if that is the case here. That said, I'm willing to use the Lore in any case just because its so rare to find potential uses for it.

Scouting Lore would basically be Klatzu rolling to know what not to do to draw attention and doing it anyways.

Kicking Siva into full speed, the goblin begins clanging his sword against his shield as Siva deftly dodges into their midst. "COME TO KLATZU! KLATZU THE TASTIEST THERE IS!"

As the goblin finishes patching up the party (and his shield) and his companion shakes the undead flesh from her fur, Klatzu quickly mounts Siva and brings the massive wolf to bear. "Klatzu's skills sound like they will be high-demand, this day, Siva!" Siva howls confidently in response.

"SIVA! Cull the weak!" The goblin bangs his sword against his shield to signal his companion, who barks in acknowledgement as they move in to attack the wounded Zombie. As the wolf jockeys for a good position, the goblin lifts his sword skyward with a shout of, "Milanite steel the best guillotine!" before sweeping it upwards at neck-height against the remaining dead.

Since Klatzu is Level 8, he has the Quick Block feat, so he gets one free Shield Block reaction every turn in addition to his regular reactions.

Admittedly my knowledge of the Osirion Lodge begins and ends with basically every Jewelled Sage scenario that exists; any scenarios related to the Osirion Lodge itself and not the antics of Amenopheus and Tahonikepsu is beyond the scope of my knowledge. That said, one of my favorite characters in my PF1e roster was a dervish dancer/counterfeit mage Rogue Tengu that did the entire Scarab Sages arc, complete with qualifying for the final boon, and they were such a blast that I tried to model my PFS2e -2001 build after their mixing of combat utility, rogue skill prowess and minor magical aptitude, as it turns out I really enjoy playing toolbox character builds especially in PFS.

So needless to say, I'm looking forward to more Osirion fun even if it is taking a new direction from that plotline.

Two reactions available, one to shield block and one to either Shield Block, Liberating Step or Attack of Opportunity. AoO will be rolled using same statistics as above and will be used on any enemy that attempts to move past Klatzu in an attempt to disrupt the action. Shield Block will be used on first attack that connects that deals 10 or more damage; if final enemy before my turn attempts to strike me burn any remaining actions on Shield Block or Liberating Step to reduce damage by 10 if attacking an ally within 15' instead.

I will not burn a hero point on a turn 1 roll against an enemy that its unlikely to drop, so I'll accept the likely miss.

As Klatzu nudges Siva into motion with his legs, the Goblin quickly readies a bastard sword with a frosted blade of (literally) folded steel and a hefty shield. "Siva, prepare for taste of combat!" Siva barks in recognition as she squares up to the gate, baring her teeth in anticipation.

Klatzu picks up on the signalling immediately, having been on the receiving end of many a revolutionary message in the past. "Klatzu and Siva have indeed come to clean house! As can see, Siva is exceedingly large, and able to easy hunt down pests! And Klatzu is a MASTER CRAFTSMAN, here to make sure that any repairs that need to be taken care of are taken care of!"

Klatzu confidently puffs his chest out to emphasize his claim, before continuing rapidly at the slightest sign of skepticism from the official. "Don't believe Klatzu? Klatzu wearing the proof of Klatzu's skill! Feast eyes upon Klatzu's latest masterpiece!" The goblin quickly un-bucklers a small shield strapped to his upper arm, tossing it over to the official to inspect. "If you have eye for quality, you will see that Klatzu's buckler made of rarest Adamantine! And is clear to all that this was, in fact, made BY KLATZU! (This is, in fact, very apparent- while made from Adamantine, it was crafted while benefitting from the Junk Tinker feat, so the alloy contains mild striations from subpar metals used in the smelting process; however, it is still very clearly Adamantine to anyone who has handled it in the past or is aware of its qualities.) No humdrum craftsman capable of working Adamantine! Only Klatzu have knowledge and skill required!"

Klatzu will continue to talk about his master craftsmanship until the official leaves as his pride takes over. Even if the official is not paying attention to Klatzu, Klatzu will continue rambling about his credentials and expertise in the background.

Funnily enough, that was intended to be a non-junk shield. Klatzu is smart enough to know that trashcan lids, while versatile and incredibly functional, are not easy to convince others that they are worth money, and Klatzu is sincere in his respect for the proletariat. Arriving somewhat late to the appointed meetup is a... goblin?- that appears to be riding a large white, armored wolf. At least, you think its a Goblin. The creature is decked head-to-toe in an improbably constructed suit of armor that seems to be constructed entirely from various scrap. Pieces you can only assume were pulled directly from a demolition site jut out at strange angles, mixed piecemeal with plates of an alien substance and scraps of barely intact chain. His steed seems to be similarly outfitted in barding that seems ill-fitting but well constructed from trash. The only elements that are distinct from the garbage mail are the glints from what you can assume are the creature's eyes, obscured in shadow under their makeshift helmet, and a strikingly green scarf that is inexplicably perfectly maintained in spite of its proximity to the greasy plate and sandy environment.

"Ah, KLATZU has yet to introduce self! Klatzu is KLATZU! MASTER CRAFTSMAN and VANGUARD OF REVOLUTION! Siva is SIVA! NOBLE STEED and FANG OF REBELLION! Pathfinders already know KLATZU's work, of course." The goblin extends a hand to anyone willing to clasp arms, although it is hard to make out where, exactly, his fingers are. After accepting any handshakes, the goblin continues. "KLATZU not of Vigilant Seal, but has worked closely under KLINE past months. Klatzu personally responsible for leading the front in Iobaria, while ensuring every Pathfinder armed and ready for glorious conflict! New mission sure to be more exciting than boring clerical work!"

Turning to the proprietor, Klatzu barks, "PERSON! KLATZU values your hard work! KLATZU and SIVA would like your hardest water, and will ensure your FAIR COMPENSATION on behalf of the PATHFINDER SOCIETY!"

All factored in, so no worries. There were some games at earlier levels where I'd actively dismount to better fight with Siva once engaged, but since her stats are likely lagging a bit at the moment due to feat choice there'll probably be a bit less of that here.

While working with less experienced Pathfinder allies, you provide vital advice to sharpen your newer colleagues’ skills. For any PCs benefiting from a Level Bump and whose levels are lower than yours, you increase the Level Bump’s modifier to skill checks to 2.

I think I'll be leaning toward playing my Champion, but since they are currently 4xp away from hitting Level 9, I'll be slow-tracking this scenario so I can run both parts of the arc with them. KLATZU is a Cavalier Liberator Champion whose mount is a Wolf thanks to the Rough Rider ancestry feat. I likely won't be doing any wild tricks with the wolf at this level as I'm stunting their growth temporarily to spec into the shield champion feat line, but they will be making Klatzu effectively size Large for the majority of the adventure unless I'm forced to dismount. I'll post in the main thread tomorrow after I make sure the character is properly updated on their Paizo profile.

Oh Milani, it’s a damned Poofer.

”FRIENDS! If poofs again, back away from smoke! Direct its attacks! If in smoke, prepare to strike when reappear!” I’ve fought disappearing foes before, the strategy is to hit them as they reappear by readying strikes with the trigger “Strike once a viable target is within reach.” This forces the creature to either eat the attack to get its full round off, or poof prematurely before getting a strike in to focus on damage mitigation. This fight is going to be a pain in any case, so we need to play towards punishing the creature’s tactics and its weakness of having to re-materialize to attack. In this creature’s case, if it can reappear anywhere in the smoke, if only one target is in the smoke then we can try to funnel its attacks that way, else it has to move/attack to reach a different target, which prevents it from attacking multiple characters if it tries to not go after the person in the smoke.

15' is enough to hit the corner of Siva and the creature using diagonal measurement. Not sure where it was when attacking Crafty, but with current map positioning Siva is a valid target for Liberating Step.

Sidenote: I literally cannot discern how any character could have 27 HP at this level. I think its more likely that, worst case, Crafty has (6racial + 8class*5 -1con*5 = 41 HP) and that 27 was a typo potentially stemming from their last play-by-post being at Level 3 (presumeably). If this is the case, depending on the cat's positioning when attacking Crafty (specifically the squares N, NE, E, SE of Crafty) then I could have used my Reaction to save him from the first hit due to both target and attacker being within 15'.

Since we’re all failing our Recalls, I suggest using the Aid Token. We should probably prep and pass one of ours as well soon. Assuming the others agree, if the creature is a Fey, since I honestly can’t tell here, use Cold Iron Shield Spikes rather than Bastard Sword damage, for (Damage Slashing: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7)

Apparently I’ve been copy-pasting d12 Bastard Sword strikes on earlier turns despite also having raised shield, should have been d8’s. I think only one die rolled over an 8 on an attack that connected (the 9 on turn 2) so reroll for that is here: bad copypaste fix: 1d8 ⇒ 7
