Back in town, Kakrish revels in the accolades. He approaches Kyras and Hoga as they are talking about continuing adventures.
"Heh. Don't count me out. I wouldn't want you guys to have to go out into the world without me."

Kakrish stares right back at Asar and yells "Yes! And now I'm sending you back to your cold death." He steps forward and raises his greatsword against the creature.
Kakrish takes the two amulet pieces in his hands. It takes a moment for him to figure out how they go together after which he joins them. "Ok Asar. Let's see what this does to you now." He holds the combined amulet piece up in front of him and towards the undead creature.
Kakrish takes a step to place himself opposite of Kyras, with Asar in between them. "Ready for your medicine, you evil undead creature?" He takes a mighty swing at the skeleton.
"Kyzen, you get that amulet and I get the far one." Kakrish points to the amulet on the north side of the portal while he quickly steps to the south side. He grabs the amulet that is hanging there. Just as he thought, it matches with the one that he and Hoga found in the crypt a couple months ago. "Kyzen, bring me your piece. I think we need to put these together. I don't know what it will do but it's worth a try."
"Oh no. You're not going to win this one Asar." Kakrish reaches forward to touch Asar on the shoulder. He channels positive energy through his touch causing harm to the undead creature.
As the tingling fades from his arm he notices the amulets and a light of recognition crosses his face. "Those. I know those." He immediately moves towards the closest one.
"Someone needs to knock out that amulet. But me and Asar? We're going to have some face-to-face time." Kakrish drops the bow and steps up to the skeleton, drawing his greatsword at the same time. As soon as he steps within reach, he swings.
I checked with Hernvet. He's been busy with end of term class projects and finals. I think he'll be able to post today though.
"You got it Hoga! I'm on it." Kakrish moves closer to the grioths. He shoots at the closest one.
"Ok now. This will be fun." Kakrish takes an arrow and aims at one of the grioths. He grunts as he fires.
Asar from Crypt of the Everflame?
"I'm ready. Let's get going. I'll take care of that undead thing!" Kakrish start to make his way slowly along the edge of the pool.
"I swim like a rock but maybe this isn't so deep that we can't just wade across. Let me check for magical creatures though." Kakrish steps up to the edge of the pond then waves his hands over the water while casting detect magic.
Kakrish lowers the bow. "What? That wasn't so hard, now was it?" He turns as Hoga approaches. "You look awful. Well, you always look awful, but you look more awful now. Did you see what Kyzen did?" When Hoga moves in for a hug Kakrish returns the embrace but then starts to tear up. "You are like a brother to me. A brother that I never had. And a father too. Kinda mixed up together in one. Is that bro-father? I don't know. But both of my parents were dwarves so I don't know how you could be my brother." After holding on to the embrace long enough to make it uncomfortable, Kakrish lets go and moves close enough to the dragon's body and kicks it. "Yep. It's a real dragon. Right Hoga! We need to find the treasure now."
"You can't get away that easily!" Kakrish spins on his heels as he tracks the dragon's flight across the cavern. He launches another one of the dragon bane arrows at the creature.
He watches the arrow bounce off the dragon's scales. "Hmm. I think that these arrows aren't working."
"Ah! The battle is on!" Kakrish moves several steps forward while readying another dragon bane arrow. He fires.
Kakrish nods at the dragon's response. "Ok. I see how it's going to be. Well then. I guess we should get started." Kakrish unslings his bow and grabs one of the dragonbane arrows. In a single action he draws and shoots.
Kakrish looks to his companions. "Don't worry. I've got this." he says with confidence then turns to face the dragon and addresses him in Draconic. "Hey you. We didn't come into your lair uninvited. You asked for us to come. I'm surprised you don't remember. I thought that dragons were smarter than that. Oh well. In any case, we also haven't soiled your cave yet. But down to business. We're here to ask you to stop pestering the town. If you agree to that then we'll just leave and everyone walks away happy. What do you think?"
"Well. Looks like now's the time. I would let you use the bow, Kyras. I would be much happier up in front with Hoga battering that dragon."
Since I have a dragon slaying arrow, maybe it would be best to use True Strike on me after we have softened up the target a little.
I'm going to be using the composite long bow with the dragonbane arrows and I've also got a dragon slaying arrow. I don't have precise shot so I'll be taking a bit of a penalty. Anything to help my dex would be good.
Kakrish peers out in to the cavern. "That's a big area," he says to no one in particular. "I wonder how to get down to that ledge. Hey, maybe that passage north would get us there." He points to the tunnel that heads north from the area where they fought the grioths.
Kakrish looks at the grioth in surprise. "You didn't die already? Ok. I'll fix that!" He steps towards the creature and makes two great swings at the ugly creature. As he swings he allows a small bit of his holy energy to trickle into the blade.
With his greatsword drawn, Kakrish makes a savage cut at the grioth.
Kakrish reels with the burst of sound but keeps his senses. "Oh no! You're not going to get away with that!" He races across the room to stand next to Maffei.
"We'll make short work of these guys. Hoga, just a sec." Kakrish spits in his hand then moves next to Hoga. He slaps his saliva covered hand on the half-orc's forearm and a tingling sensation flows through the touch. "Ok. You now will do more damage. I've infused you with the holy power of Gorum!"
Kakrish stretches and cracks his knuckles. He opens his mouth as if to say something but instead, a loud and phlegmy sounding burp comes out. The belch lasts for a good two or three seconds. As he finishes, he waves his hand in front of his mouth. "Wow. I'm still smelling lunch from two days ago!" He bends over to pick up his gear. "Ok. Let's go get this dragon."
"Wow Herny. That felt great." Kakrish flexes his biceps. "Back to full strength. Now, where to? Hoga, you found a safe place to rest?"
"Ok. I'm going to try this one more time." Kakrish aims an arrow at the grioth and fires.
Kakrish bears the full brunt of the attack this time. "Oh! That hurts! Ok. You asked for it this time." He draws an arrow and fires at the creature. Again, he arrow goes to the side.
Kakrish shakes off much of the damage from the creature. He moves to the side, trying to get a better angle, then he pulls another arrow back and tries to shoot the creature again but his aim is still off.
At first Kakrish is confused and taken aback from the explosion but he quickly recovers.
kakrish is stunned by the explosions and only shakes his head. He takes a few second to gain his bearings.
"Oh look! Someone came to play!" Kakrish starts to grab his greatsword but then remembers the bow. "Now's a good time to try this thing out." He wields the bow and aims at one of the creatures on the other side of the pool. "By the way, everyone hold onto your marbles. Those things are casting confusion spells. If you're not careful you might end up babbling incoherently." Kakrish looks over to Kyras and grins. "Just like that!"
Kakrish looks as Hernvet touches his shoulder. "Ha! Ha! That's exactly what I needed. Now all of you watch as I take care of this creature." Kakrish swings his sword at the elemental.
Kakrish swings his sword at the water elemental in front of him.
"Doesn't look like there's anything interesting here. Well. Maybe on that island there is something interesting. I'm going to go check it out." Kakrish wades through the water to the island.
"The archway, right? I mean, it's on the right but right too. Right?" Kakrish starts heading towards the arch.
"Tracks? On the stone floor. I don't know how you can do that." Kakrish sniffs at the air. "I say we go to the right. Going straight ahead always causes problems."
"Ok, let's move on. Hoga, are you going to open that door?"
Kakrish shakes his head and then notices that he has Hernvet grappled. "Hey. What's going on? Wait? Why were we wrestling? Oh yeah. It was the ooze thing." Kakrish lets go of Hernvet and looks at the messy remains of the creature. "That's just disgusting." He replies to Kyras. "Yeah, I think I'm ok."
