Jillian looked back and forth between Caleb and Noravia, and realized that she was being selfish. These two warriors had invited her to join them in something sacred, and she was acting like a child. "I'm sorry," she said. "It's just a little outside my experience. But I would love to join you, and stand with you. Though, if I choose to look like Eirik, I'll have to choose a green dress," she grinned. In the wedding scene
*** The slayer surprised herself again by tearing up a little during the ceremony. It was quite amazing to think that these two people found love and each other, even in the midst of such horrors. *** Jillian clapped in delight when she saw the cake. For a moment she was tempted to throw herself astride the cake, and ride it into sunset. But she restrained herself; it wouldn't do to upstage the bride. At one point she found herself standing near Ves. She'd never actually spoken to her before - she'd only seen her the once, when Caleb had been under the feeblemind spell. "Um, hi. I'm Jillian. This is pretty great, isn't it?" She surprised herself a third time by meaning it. ![]()

Jillian's eyes widened in horror. "No!" she cried. "No foofarah! Do you know what happens when you try to fight in foofarah? Bad things!" She shuddered, imagining herself in a multi-tiered pink monstrosity. "If I have to wear a dress, it will be black, permit movement, and possibly contain some slink. Is slink appropriate for a wedding?" ![]()

Looking rather like a rat trapped in a cage, Jillian swallowed hard, and slowly nodded her head. "But shouldn't one of us be armed, in case we're....um....ambushed..." she trailed off, realizing how unlikely that was if they were somehow doing this in a dream. ![]()
![]() Action1 "Do we need to remove the feeblemind spell? I thought it might work better without it. Right now she can't think for herself. Doesn't that mean she might be more likely to follow your lead. If you go and be nice to her, maybe bring some food or something, and she feels that maternal connection, then she'll see you as a "friend". Then all you need to do is get her to come with you. You can lead her right to the fight. And then she'll see those in the temple as "enemy", and fight them. All we have to do is keep fighting her enemies, and stay out of her way, and hopefully she'll burn up the right folks." tag Action 2 Jillian had a lopsided, confused smile on her face. "Married? Now? But why? Why not wait until we've won, then you can enjoy your honeymoon in peace." ![]()
![]() According to Fabians plot recap above, we need to break the Kintargo-cheliax connection first, THEN kill Thrune. Can we not kill Thrune first? If we kill him now, then he's definitely no longer the "winning side". Or have I forgotten something? Action 1: "So let's present his head? Surely we can take him down?" Jillian had heard plenty of rumours about Thrune, but hadn't experienced him for herself. "Caleb, can your little bugs not go and check out the temple where he's hiding?" Turning to Rizolla, she said, "If your mother has calmed down, can you not convince her to fight WITH us, and not AGAINST us? Surely she's more tractable now?" perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39 Jillian's ears perked up at all the whispering. Her natural curiosity warred with her natural subtlety. For once, curiosity won. "What surprise?" she asked. ![]()
![]() Action 2 "Don't know that we need a plan," Jillian shrugged. "Caleb threw the old stupid-whammy at her, and now she's just a big lizard. Doubt she'll cause trouble again." Action 3
Quote: Is murdering people something the Silver Ravens support?” Jillian opened her mouth to volunteer, then realized that Marquel might not be making a request. She shut her mouth again and let wiser voices offer their council. ![]()

Jillian nodded, her mind racing. "It can only help our cause - surely this will impress people to join our side. It might even help the Poison Pen to convince his father. If dear old dad is only loyal because he thinks it's the winning side, then maybe this will help change his mind." ![]()
![]() Will you guys stop poking the dragon!!!! Also, does my fly potion still work? Or did death end the effects of the potion? Jillian was content to rest in Eirik's arms, despite the water's chill. It was better than rejoining the death on the bridge. "What are they doing up there?" she whispered to the monk. "Why haven't they all run away?" ![]()
![]() CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Jillian sputtered and choked, then recognized the taste of the liquid she was drinking, and swallowed it back. She we freezing cold, and seemed to be floating, supported by strong arms. She blinked one eye open, and saw Eirik's concerned face. Groaning, she didn't even try to move. "Gods. I feel like I've died. Twice. Did we win?" ![]()
![]() Just as Jillian had accepted that it was over, she felt herself come back into her body, and her wounds start to knit. For a moment everything felt...silver? She opened her eyes, groaning, and the world shone with a silver glow. Then it faded back into the more mundane red of blood and battle. BoL: 5d8 + 20 - 33 ⇒ (1, 8, 7, 3, 7) + 20 - 33 = 13 Welp, that's not gonna get me very far, but at least I can distract the devil one more round, which will allow Eirik to distract the dragon, which means hopefully we can feeblemind our way out of this... Staggering to her feet, Jillian shook her head to clear it, and shouted at the demon, "Come on! Is that all you got?" I assume that's a standard or full round action, and I can't also attack this round? ![]()
![]() You know, it's not Jillian's death that upsets me. It's the fact that the turn is named after Noravia! :P Jillian realized her mistake as soon as she turned her back on the dragon. The devil was much thornier than she'd noticed from far away, and she just didn't have the armour for this sort of encounter. She was more suited to skulking in tunnels, not taking on epic monsters on a bridge. Still, it was too late to run, so she met her doom head-on. At least it was quick. She didn't even have time to yell out a pithy death-cry. Her skull cracked under the thorny devil's pressure, and the light went out for good. Good luck, sweet comrades! ![]()
![]() acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Jillian realized that she had little to no chance of damaging this dragon. It was just too big, too tough. A quick glance around showed her the barbed devil was shredding the unarmed monk. "Eirik! Trade!" She threw herself sideways and tumbled past an outstretched, clawed hand, hoping not to get swiped on her way by. She popped up infront of the demon and took barely a second to study her target. Jillian slashed at it, hoping to carve some of those spines down. sword: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 2 + 3 = 25

![]() I'm more than happy to swap opponents, just not sure how to get to the devil without getting destroyed on the way there. Can I use my robe to turn into a gas? The write-up says it has to be used in one minute increments. Can I use it just for a turn, and count it as a minute? I'm not sure if that rule is to prevent it being used in combat, or just for tracking, so you're not having to count up 6 second intervals. ![]()
![]() Any chance this dragon now counts as an outsider? If so, my sword is at +2 against it. Jillian had been watching this thing for nearly half a minute, and she was starting to understand the way it moved. Hopefully she could use that to her advantage. Flying in a wide berth around it, she attacked from behind, hoping to turn its attention away from Noravia. She flew in screaming at it, but she was unused to the whole flying thing, and was unable to pierce the creature's scaly hide. Assuming a 22 won't hit a dragon. Should have enough move to come in from the east without drawing an AoO. That way I can hopefully flank with somebody eventually. attack, stud. targ: 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 3 = 22

![]() Jillian's eyes widened as she saw the spiny devil appear on the dragon's back. Great, like this wasn't already going to be hard enough. At least it's finally coming within range. Seeing that Noravia was burned badly and bleeding, Jillian sprung into the air and raced towards the dragon. She pulled her bow as she did so, and shot it at the dragon. She didn't expect it to do much, but maybe it would give the inquisitor time to quaff a potion. arrow: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
Moving up only about 30 feet, hoping to get into position to flank once it lands. ![]()
![]() Jillian was frustrated - the creature was staying too far out of range. She knew that if she started flying towards it, it could be long gone by the time she got to it. Gotta get it to come to us, she thought. "Ha! All that I heard about the mighty Rivozair is nothing but exaggeration and lies! This is no mighty warrior! It doesn't even have the courage to face us directly! This cowardly creature prefers to stay aloft, out of range, safe in the sky. Does it tremble at the sight of us? Does it only take five small ravens to strike terror into the heart of one dragon? Let all of Kintargo know! Rivozair is afraid!" Hoping that her taunts would bring the beast closer, she prepared herself to fly and attack as soon as it came within range.
assuming it won't be accomodating enough to come right up for a full attack, but just in case it does, then deduct 2 from the above to hit, and add the following... shield bash: 1d20 + 17 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 17 - 2 = 25

![]() Jillian spent an hour that evening sharpening her sword, and making sure that her armour and gear was all in order. She slept well, not worrying about the fight tomorrow. Either they would win, or they would die. She was ready for either. Action 2 Jillian had never bought into the opera frenzy that infected much of Kintargo. She preferred pure poetry; the heartful elegy, the witty satire. She appreciated that setting some poems to music helped people remember the lyrics, but she still preferred spoken poetry to sung. As they took position in the abandoned opera house. Jillian took position by one of the doors, keeping guard in case they were noticed. She kept her sword and shield ready, in case the singers needed defending while they cast their magic. The slayer was ready for anything. She was ready for anything, that is except for the effect the song had upon her. As Caleb and Shensen's voices raised together in harmony, singing the sacred words, Jillian found her soul transported in a way she'd never even imagined. When it was over, she turned away, wiping tears from her cheeks, hoping nobody had noticed. Action 3 Buffs - Jillian will take the following potions: Fly, and Resist Electricity. Noravia can have Shield of Faith as she has faith, and lower AC ![]()
![]() As they discussed strategy, Jillian couldn't help a small laugh that escaped out of her. "I don't think I've ever taken so many potions at once! Can we combine them into one big jug, and just chug them all together? I hope I don't have to pee halfway through the fight!" To Caleb, she said, "I do think we should try that spell, definitely before we fight her dragonny dragonness. If it can be sung together, then you and Shensen should be on stage together." Can aid another work in this kind of instance? ![]()
![]() "I like the flying and invisibility. But what about if it makes darkness, or it goes invisible? Can we get a potion so I can see it no matter what it does?" I like Eirik's plan. Can we get a see invisibility potion? If it casts darkness, can somebody cast light to counter it? So, the three of us on the bridge, meeting it head on, with Caleb and Tillia casting from off the bridge? Can we bring in Hob or Elsbeth or Rizolla for spell support? ![]()
![]() Wands are better value - only 225/charge for a third level spell. Can we procure one of those with 5 charges? Quote: "Alright." Caleb starts "I need to keep my calm if I'm going to be useful. These things sound terrifying. I'm going to need something to make me unafraid. Has anyone got anything to hand?" Jillian gave Caleb a lecherous grin. "I'm sure that Noravia can think of something to help you relax. She probably has something "to hand", or maybe even closer than that." She elbowed the inquisitor conspiratorially, although doing that to somebody with plate armour turned out to be poor judgement. ** "Ooh! Flying and invisibility, please!" Jillian raised her hand and jumped up and down, like an eager school girl. "What about weapons? Do we need like a special metal, or bashing or slashing, or anything specific?" She liked her tried and trusted combination of sword and shield, but would be willing to swap out one or more of her weapons if it would help take the dragon down."[/b] Taking a look at UMD etc now, - not sure why I didn't max it out when you let me rearrange skills. Any chance of making it a class skill for her? Can I make further adjustments to my skills, or shall I wait for next level? ![]()
![]() Jillian stared at Rizolla as she told her tale. She hadn't seen the woman since helping rescue her from the tunnels - she hadn't even been sure she'd been healed. "Your mom is a DRAGON?!" she sputtered. "Like, actual mom, or are you talking abandoned and raised by a dragon? No, that's not less crazy. Seriously, a dragon!" She turned to the others, "Don't tell me I'm the only one freaked out by this?" Coming to terms with the information, Jillian said, "Well, anyway, that's great, you must know everything about her. Blue means electricity, right? Anything else you can tell us? Weaknesses we can exploit?" *** Turning to Caleb, she asked, "Could that actually work? I thought dragons were crazy strong and powerful. Do you think you could really cast that spell on it? It would be amazing if you could!" So, some resist energy spells/potions...what else should we load up on? ![]()
![]() Jillian nearly laughed out loud at the look on Caleb's face as Noravia suggested he sing the spell. She'd been around him long enough to know that he did have an amazing voice, but he seemed loathe to use it in public. "Maybe you could duet with Shensen? Wouldn't that give the spell more power?" Action 2 The dragon reared back, shooting electricity from its mouth and nostrils. The Ravens cowered in fear, their clothes scorched and smoking. Jillian, disguised as a bank of fog, hovered on a nearby rooftop. As the dragon lunged forward, the slayer leapt from the rooftop, taking human form once again as she did so. Landing on the beast's head, she rooted her feet as she might have done on a ship at sea, and took her sword in both hands. With great balance and strength, she drove it down through the skull, between the hardened scales and solid bone, and straight into the brain beneath. The dragon stiffened and fell, dead before it understood what had happened. Easily balanced on the falling dragon's head, silver blood pooling around her boots, Jillian waited until the head crashed onto the cobbles below before leaping down, to the cries of amazement and adulation. Humble, she took a small bow, acknowledging their admiration. Jillian daydreams like this all the time The clanging of a metal stein hitting the floor startled Jillian out of her reverie. The others were staring. Her cheeks coloured as she picked up the now-empty cup. "Uh, sorry. Yeah, dragons are bad. We should kill it." I think Jillian should still have the tattoo, because only the bearer can activate it, and she can't do that. When she got greater invisibility in combat last time, I think Caleb just cast it on her again. Can we RP some way to reduce the UMD cost for this? Specific training for this particular spell? Daily repetition? I WANTS THIS SPELL!!!! ![]()
![]() I'm a little bit at a loss about what to do/suggest. Maybe because I joined the game after several years of play, I don't really get the intricacies of what's happening here. And Jillian is really more of a stab first, and don't ask questions later kind of gal. So I'm still here, but really don't have much to add until there's something concrete that needs to be done. ![]()
![]() Jillian listened to the planning with a slightly befuddled expression on her face. Her mind didn't work in these convoluted arcs and circles. For her, life was simple: if somebody wasn't cooperating, then give them a good stabbing. She still thought that it would be easier to just remove the old man from the game all together. She knew by now, however, that her current squad didn't feel the same way. Sorry, not much to add here. This is neither my, nor Jillian's forte. Action 2 Jillian frowned. "I don't like that we're talking about appointing the mayor. There should be a free and full election. I know, that would give the game away. Whomever we choose - can we make it a fixed term of a year or something. Then, after the ratified mayor gets rid of the devils, then we can have a proper election?" ![]()
![]() Is there a reason why we're not killing the dad? Having joined late, I don't have the background on this guy. Is he good guy, confused, bad guy? Is it just morals? Because Jillian would quite happily sneak out and assassinate him if that would make things easier. I just don't want to railroad you players if that's not the direction you want to go. But if players are good with it, but your characters aren't, I'm happy to write up a "sneaking out and killing him" scene, if Fabian allows it.
