ARGH! Lost my post!
In summary: I see this bridge as a big stone job with enormous pillars, right? Tall enough that you can sail a boat under it? On his best day CC couldn't jump that. That means DD.
I still think the Dragon is going to fly off though. I'd rather be ready when she did... But I don't want to waste Noravia's spell.
Any thoughts from the gallery?

Noravia's spell will last for 10 rounds...

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Actually, I think the devil missed… Eirik has an AC of 27 with the Barskin on, and since he used Total Defence last round that went up to 31. So hitting AC 26 won’t quite cut it ;^)

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Flurry, unarmed: 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 17 + 1 + 2 = 31
Flurry, unarmed: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 16 + 1 + 2 = 38 Haste

Flurry, unarmed: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 + 1 + 2 = 28

Hmm... I'd imagine those are all hits, since the dice were in my favor... so I'll roll damage for the lot! Hooray for Evil Outsider Bane weapon!

Flurry, damage, lethal: 1d10 + 1d6 + 2d6 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + (1) + (3, 6) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 15
Flurry, damage, lethal: 1d10 + 1d6 + 2d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + (6) + (5, 4) + 1 + 2 = 23

rend, damage, lethal: 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 4) + (6) = 11

105 points of damage? Boom, headshot!

”Shaved coins!

Seeing Noravia fall under the onslaught of hellfire, Eirik cursed aloud and narrowed his eyes, focusing his attention to the devil that had landed next to him. He didn’t have time to waste on the thing – they needed to challenge the dragon before it got into its head to take to the air again.

Moon on the Water, into Viper Flicks its Tongue. The sweeping kick caught the devil by surprise and the spear-hand punch pierced deep into its chest as it fell, driven by the monk’s desperation and the enchantment against creatures just like this that had been recently added to his magical amulet. A thought and an effort of will called for twin bursts of speed from his enchanted boots and his own lifeforce, allowing him to press his attack.

Arc of the Moon into Wind and Rain. The monk’s elbow hit the devil right between its eyes as it was struggling to rise, cracking its skull, and the ridge hand blow that followed widened the fissures. The combination finished with the Rose Unfolds, and the double impact of knee kick into the devil’s chin and a push kick into its throat sent the infernal foe reeling.

Forgot Improved Critical, second attack might even crit...

Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 16 + 1 + 2 = 38

So here's a cherry on the top ;^)

Crit extra damage from 2nd attack: 1d10 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 2 = 11

New grand total, 116 damage.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Also also... Noravia said in post after turn 517 she'd also cast Prayer just before combat but before the dragon got into range... if that went though, that'd be a few extra points ;^) But that might have been left uncast considering the dragon started playing with us.

Not so fast...

That barbed devil has DR 10/good and also 'barbed defense' meaning you take damage for each hit...

I'm hoping for an interesting fight so don't go killing off anyone too quickly. :)

Questions?

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Of course it has T_T We really need that communal align weapon right about now... wonder if the dragon herself is templated to manage those hellfire breaths, or is that one of them dragon spells that allows one to swap its breath attack type for a while...

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

At least the first hit will ignore DR, since Eirik didn't have a need to move around. But the total damage drops down to mere 66, I believe. Bummer.

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

I say that Caleb tries for getting Feeblemind to work on the dragon if at all possible.

Can Noravia heal herself with the CSW wand while lying there?

Stats

@Eirik: Pity it isn't a +5 enhancement total; then you'd ignore alignment DR
@Noravia: if you use the Breath of Life you should be able to stumble to cover and use the wand.
Roger: will come up for a follow up attack.

Caleb ground his teeth in frustration as he realised the Dragon had changed its mind and landed on the bridge. Logic suggested he wait until the dragon flew off, but his chest tightened at the thought of what Noravia may be facing.
Carefully he visualised a hiding spot on a building at the other side of the bridge, with a view of where the dragon's landing thump had come from. Darkness swirled for a second, and Caleb landed prone.
Dimension Door and Stealth, if possible. stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (11) + 21 = 32

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

If Noravia used the Breath of Life, how many HPs would she be looking at getting back? And is the dragon's frightful presence always on or does it have to direct it at us - what would be her DC to not succumb?

She could also dive off the bridge and spend one round under the bridge healing herself a bit because she still has Fly.

Stats

5d8+CL I believe

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Hmm... Rend isn't an attack, but rather bonus damage. That shouldn't trigger the devil's barbed defense, but does DR apply to it? It *is* an unique source of damage, but then again, it's kind of bonus damage applied to previous attacks...

This spell cures 5d8 points of damage + 1 point per caster level (maximum +25). Since she's currently at -10, she would be 16 hp.

The dragon frightful presence is always on and its will save DC 21.

I intend to recap later today so a decision would be nice... :)

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Busy tonight and don't have time for a proper post. Question...would Noravia have to roll against fear just once or every time she would be near the dragon?

Stats

normally you would then be immune for 24 hours.

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Noravia knew that in her current state if she moved and drew attention to herself that she would be an easy target. She figured that she only had one choice if she was going to be of any further help to the others. Jackdaw's words about the Song of Silver came to the inquisitor's mind and knew it was the best chance at healing even though it came with another risk. Could Milani help her overcome the fear? Her goddess had protected her this far and so she had no reason to doubt now.

Drawing on the power of the Song of Silver, Noravia opened herself up to its healing power. As the healing filled her, she felt her courage draining away. The dragon's frightful presence threatened to shake her to her very core and she desired nothing more than to run. But as she breathed in she once again smelled roses and was reminded that Milani was with her. She pushed her fear to the side and prepared to move.

Will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

Using the Breath of Life so she can act. I gave my will save to overcome the fear effect

If Noravia can also move, she'll dive off the bridge and fly beneath it where she'll heal herself more next round before rejoining the fray.

Damn. Double damn.
Can we get the AC for the dragon? Does Jillian even have a chance? She's a one-trick pony, after all.

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Was using the Breath of Life Noravia's standard action or could she also use the wand on herself last round?

male

Breath of life is like the spell being cast on you but you 'do' it so it does take a standard action.

The dragon's AC is too high (AC=37) but I'll lower that a bit to AC=34, still high...

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

caster check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 (to overcome SR)

Noravia was about to pull the wand to heal herself when she heard sounds of pain from above. Changing her trajectory, she flew upwards until the dragon and devil were in her sights and she brought down Milani's holy smite on the evil ones.

Casting Holy Smite. It has a 20ft radius burst so can she get the dragon and the devil? Since the dragon is acting like an evil outsider, would she be able to do the extra damage to it?

damage: 5d8 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 7, 8) = 29 (if not evil outsider)
damage: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 3, 2, 6, 2, 5, 4, 1) = 33 (if evil outsider)
Will save for half damage; DC19

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

the spell's range for Noravia is 200ft so that's as far away from the dragon as she'll be :)

I hate to say it, but this doesn’t look good for you guys so unless Caleb can pull a rabbit out of a hat, you may want to think about other options…

Well, there's always that 5ed game waiting its turn... ;^)

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Anyway... will post later but will ponder now... Eirik could do another full attack with some hit penalties from being grappled, but I'm afraid he'd self-destruct, considering the backlash damage from the devil's thorns and from whatever it's going to do with its own attacks.

Might be better to try to swap opponents with Jillian, as her sword and shield wouldn't (likely...) be subject to the backlash and she has an outsider bane weapon herself. You up to that, Jillian? Eirik could free himself and get to threaten the dragon with the use of one Ki point, even though he couldn't attack this round. And he has enough Acrobatics and movement range to (possibly) avoid the dragon's AoOs and get Jillian between himself and the devil...

I'm more than happy to swap opponents, just not sure how to get to the devil without getting destroyed on the way there. Can I use my robe to turn into a gas? The write-up says it has to be used in one minute increments. Can I use it just for a turn, and count it as a minute? I'm not sure if that rule is to prevent it being used in combat, or just for tracking, so you're not having to count up 6 second intervals.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

I kinda thought Eirik could turn into gas himself to escape the grapple, then dodge his way through the dragon's threatened area to get just north of your current position... thus if the devil wanted to pursue, you'd be the closest enemy... but the dragon might just wipe the floor with us before the barbed critter even makes it to us. AC34 is brutal, and she's not just standing there to take hits. I seriously thing that unless the spellcasters manage to oneshot the dragon, we are toast.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33 This would be quite a good start to avoid AoOs, I hope...

You can use the robe for less than 1 minute but it will count for 1 minute with regards to its daily capacity.

However, both turning into and from gaseous form is a standard action.

Hmmmm, so not ideal as it would use up two turns, and I might be the only one alive by then. Is it possible to use acrobatics to get out of dragon's range, and get over to the devil in one turn? Even if it's using two move actions to do it?

male

You could try to use acrobatics (part of move action) to avoid AoOs (like Eirik) and then even attack with your standard action.

acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Jillian realized that she had little to no chance of damaging this dragon. It was just too big, too tough. A quick glance around showed her the barbed devil was shredding the unarmed monk. "Eirik! Trade!"

She threw herself sideways and tumbled past an outstretched, clawed hand, hoping not to get swiped on her way by. She popped up infront of the demon and took barely a second to study her target. Jillian slashed at it, hoping to carve some of those spines down.

sword: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 2 + 3 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 9 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 3 + (6, 4) = 27 the last 2d6 is vs outsiders

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Ok... use Qinggong Power, Gaseous Form as standard action to escape grapple (it's Su, so no AoOs), then move (up to 60') to get to the side of the dragon Jillian starts from (as gas Eirik doesn't have to worry about runnign around the devil, he can go straight though its space). Use that Acrobatics roll from before to avoid AoOs. I don't know what kind of action dismissing the Ki power is, but if it's free Eirik will do that at the end, just to seem a bit mroe threatening so the dragon doesn't decide to double-team Jillian with the devil.

Stats

Caleb threw his mind at the dragon. The task seemed hopeless; strong as the Dragon's body was, its mind was just as tough. Still, this had been the plan and he'd agreed to it.

Hey Tillia, you still got those mind control spells? Any chance of bring the Devil over to our side? Assuming Noravia hasn't toasted it into uselessness of course.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Cut by the devil's unexpectedly thorny hide even as his hands and feet cracked bones and tore its flesh, Eirik realized the danget too late. This was a foe he was most unsuited to battle - indeed, this brought to mind the strange shell-constructs they had fought in the submerged cellars of their current hideout when it was still under previous management. As it was, it was an even bet which of them would fall to his wounds first, and the devil was just one of their opponents.

Jillian wrote:
"Eirik! Trade!"

A most wonderful idea, Eirik decided. He was wary of trying to force his way out of the devil's clutches, but luckily he had another option. A moment of concentration to redirect the flow of Ki through his body’s chakra turned his body grey and translucent, before his form fell into a cloud of mist that flowed over and around the devil, flowing swiftly towards the dragon even as Jillian was running his way. Not that Eirik looked forward to meeting the dragon claw to fist. But at least the very touch of its skin was unlikely to rip him to shreds.

Bleed damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 The devil is bleeding until healed…

I can try but I doubt it since we're in combat with it already. Having said that...
Tillia saw how badly this fight was going at the moment and knew something had to be done to turn the tide in their favor. She focused on the devil as she moved up and began to chant, her magic reaching out as she pulled out the needed materials. Her magic began to wrap itself around the devil's mind and tried to sink into it, influencing it's thoughts, as she said, "The dragon is about to betray you, she has been using you and knows you will soon die. Kill her now before she kills you and flees with her soul intact and free."

Here's what I have:

Noravia cast holy smite on both dragon and devil;
Jillian tries to evade dragon's AoO and attacks devil;
Eirik turn gaseous and move to dragon;
Caleb cast feeblemind at dragon; and
Tillia cast suggestion on devil.

I intend to recap later today so let me know if there any changes to the above.

I just wanted to point out that both Caleb and Noravia got natural 20s on their caster check to overcome SR...I think that should count for something :) Maybe a negative on the dragon's saves because of continued divine intervention from both Milani and Calistria?

Actually, I have pulled a few punches.

Believe or not, you may well survive this.

Question: Is the Dwoemer's Essence a one time use thing? It says in the description that you use a pinch of it when you cast your spell and I have a hard time believing it cost so much for a pinch. But at the same time, it doesn't say how many applications there are.

You know, it's not Jillian's death that upsets me. It's the fact that the turn is named after Noravia! :P

Jillian realized her mistake as soon as she turned her back on the dragon. The devil was much thornier than she'd noticed from far away, and she just didn't have the armour for this sort of encounter. She was more suited to skulking in tunnels, not taking on epic monsters on a bridge. Still, it was too late to run, so she met her doom head-on.

At least it was quick. She didn't even have time to yell out a pithy death-cry. Her skull cracked under the thorny devil's pressure, and the light went out for good.

Good luck, sweet comrades!

Noravia gasps as the dragon attacks Caleb. Even if it was suicidal, she had to get Rizovair's attention back on herself and off of him.

Noravia prayed fervently that her spell would hurt the dragon as she spoke powerfully divine words. A ray of searing light streaked towards the dragon from her palm.

Can you repeat the Song of Silver effects, Fabian? I tried to look for it yesterday but managed to miss the turn summary it was written in.

And if THIS was supposed to be a surprise attack... I'm shocked that some groups managed to survive a TPK... although they had the option to cut and run, since the dragon hadn't made its ultimatum to burn down the city around us yet.
