Lily replies in asn even tone, leaning in a little closer to examine Hestia's plumage carefully. "Would it be alright if I took a feather? I'd like to have a reference if I am going to do some research." "I don't see why not."

Lily sneers slightly, a natural reaction for her. She quickly manages to marshall her expression to a mostly neutral position with a touch of inqusitiveness.
"Interesting," she intones, a slight quiver in her voice. "and you can't burn anything? That seems difficult to eat properly." hiesta's voice is, as usual, chipper, even over telepathy. >>eh, a little challanging, but there are lots of ways to make fire without magic.<<

"So... what do you do?" Lily shakes her head as she releases her cousin. "Honestly I am not really sure. I apparently projected my consciousness into another creature somehow, this is how I discovered it in the first place. I have a meeting with Professor Nix on Monday morning to learn of what I might be capable." heista beams, smiling exitedly again. "that actually sounds real neat! Hope it turns out to be really useable, without any big downsides or anything. Seems like it could be really cool if it works out!"
Female Firebird Oddball
Heista chuckles softly.
"join the club. I've got green fire that doesn't burn things. So what's up with you? Honestly it seems every "noble" firebird has something really werid about them."
her smile clashes harshly with the silence and somber tone, all too exited to talk.
Female Firebird Oddball
heista tilts her head, still smiling.
"I can help. At least, I can provide someone to talk to? Unless you don't want to. Then I can help by going away."
Female Firebird Oddball
"Lucas was concerned for you. But he's werid, and he sent me. But as soon as he told me there was something to worry about, I got concerned myself. So I'm here, and want to see how you're doing. Also, if you want me to say nothing of this conversation to Lucas, I will gladly do so."
heista is smiling exitedly, eager to help and beaming. She's so happy it's almost painful to look at.
"though, in his typical fashion, he gave me minimal information as to what's actually going on."
Female Firebird Oddball
heista is, dispite her circumstance, beaming as she walks down the hall, swaying and shifting to an unheard song in her head, occasionally brushing her hand on the wall to check if she's still going the right way. Soon enough, she knocks on lilly's door, tapping three times with a knuckle.

And the machines and magic and things they all use like it's normal....this place is crazy. From what I can pick up so far though, this place is crazy even by surfacer standards, so don't feel bad. It helps if you pretend like it's all no big deal." "Yeah. This place is nuts. I don't know how to respond to half the people here. The other half you're supposed to run from. Not here, hunh?" "Apparently not. We're supposed to all get along....maybe we'll get along with them better than we get along with each other?" "I hope not. I'd rather get along better with my own kind. Might be nice."

she actually finally looks up at everyone. She clears her throat.
"So, how has everyone else been? I hope you're dealing with this better then I am."
her mood changes quickly, in a sense. Anyone who's even mildly competent at realign people will know she's faking it. "so far so good, met a few powerful people, a skilled earth and fire bender among them, apparently former guardian of one of the noble houses, there are a lot of interesting people here,
hiesta gives a fake smile, pretending she actually cares about what he's saying. "So what do you think makes a person interesting?" he asked in between shoveling mouthfuls of food in as if he were in a terrible hurry to eat. Etain and Elektra both had the same problem with table manners. A guard thing perhaps. "There's lots of people here. Stands to reason at least some of them would match your definition." "Yeah. It's not that there aren't interesting people. It's that everyone's so unnerving, I don't really know what this place is... I'm just finding it hard to take it all in."

Which aspect of the strange is bothering you the most? Personally I find the ambient temperature a bit chilly for comfort." "It doesn't bug me too much. The temperature, at least. I'm just... Not terribly used to the crowds. Or the building. Or the... Anything. It makes me nervous."

"No, no. It's fine. I'm just a little..."
she sighs.
"I don't know."

just making sure. I don't remember anyone else being mentioned. Oh, aside from archea.
heista looks up at Lucas, and quickly looks back down to her plate, avoiding eye contact.

Female Firebird Oddball
Lucas, please stop encouraging snobbish behavior.
I would be very happy.
Female Firebird Oddball
heista fills out her paperwork as quick as she can. This stuff is awful.
Female Firebird Oddball
heista eventually wanders outside the skimmer, and looks over the school.

Cindra Svarog wrote: Cindra listens quietly for the most part, but after this comment from Lucas she mutters very quietly to herself, and her tone is dripping bitter, "At least her abilities have a potential use." Too quietly for any save Solus or Hestia, who are right next to her, or someone with exceptional hearing to notice. "I don't even know what mine is, sis, or if i even have one. Besides, we're going to a school. We can learn new things there, not having to rely on what we were born with."
Female Firebird Oddball
"Wow... This would be so cool to drive..."
heista muttered as she got in a seat.
Female Firebird Oddball
"It's probobly for the best..."
heista muttered, before heading off to grab her things.

hiesta has wandered near Schorchan, a little nervous.she hasn't said whether she wants to go or not.

narrator wrote: "Agreed. It's too easy to feel defeated out here in these tents...we need resources and time if we are ever going to return to power...and if they're offering to give those away for free, well..." he shrugged. "We'd be foolish not to take advantage. Where's Cindra by the way? She can't possibly have slept through all that ground shaking," Solus asked. "I... Don't know. Heck, i don't know much about where anyone is. I just came here and fell asleep... I wasn't feeling all too good."

narrator wrote: "He is offering to take anyone who wants to enroll in the school over to Avalon," he said, nodding towards Sorchan. "It's not a bad offer. They're going to get tired of having us all under foot sooner rather than later. Especially our family...there's so many of us. Lucas went to inquire what the proper procedure was for enrollment...apparently Lily is being a brat about the accommodations...predictable really." "Sounds... Acceptable. Be better then here... It's so... dismal. All these depressed people don't really help my mood."
Female Firebird Oddball
narrator wrote: "You alright, sis?" Solus asked quietly from where he had been silently observing what was going on. "Yeah, I'm fine... Slept in too late, it seems. What's going on?"
hiesta cheers up a little, seeing a friendly face.

Heistia was sleeping in her cot, not having gotten up yet... Before the tremor knocked her out of her bed.
*thump*
"Gah! I... What? Where am i? .... Oh, right. This camp."
Heistia sighed. Even though it was messed up, she still missed her home.
"What... What's going on out there?"
Heistia walks out and looks towords schorchan, trying to silently piece together what was going on.
Female Firebird Oddball
I'm not bothering getting a class yet.
Female Firebird Oddball
Don't know what levels i have yet.
Female Firebird Oddball
Do i need to stat out class levels, or can i just let that figure itself out as we go?
