Tried diplomacy, but I assume that took a penalty due to attacking, right? "Listen, you may think you are some grand sorcerer, but we took you captive way to easy for that to be true. Unless you want my friends here to finish you off, I think you need to search your soul for what you really have in you!" Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

I hate to destroy such a perfect little lightning storm... "Are we killing this guy? Is that why we put him to sleep?" Shrugging, Haliphod pulls out his wand of magic missiles, and fires one off at the lightning elemental. Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

"Why'd we go looking for more trouble?" Haliphod summons a storm burst around the flying serpent. Storm Burst (Sp):
30' ranged touch attack for 1d6 points of nonlethal damage In addition, the target is buffeted by winds and rain, causing it to take a –2 penalty on attack rolls for 1 round.

"I love a puzzle. Oooo... little snakes! Nice!" Haliphod takes his time, convincing the snakes to let him pass to each plinth. As he approaches each one, he makes detailed drawings and even some conclusions based on what he knows about nature. If allowed to Take 10:
Taking 10 on each Handle Animal check (for 17 total), and then again on both Perception (25 total) and Knowledge, nature (17 total). If Not: Seeing how the others are doing, Haliphod joins the fun. He uses his animal skills to sway the snakes to one side as he approaches Plinth #2. Handle Animal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Then he looks over the writings, and starts pointing out some things that he finds interesting. Knowledge, Nature: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 4 = 17

"This is awesome, Kildrek! Do we jump in? Where can we go? We should all agree to stick together." At Liminy's warning, Haliphod looks concerned. "Is this a glimpse in the past, or are we actually going back in time? Can we really affect the future? Surely not - they wouldn't send us in there if there was a chance of that, do you think?"

Sorry, since I didn't dot in earlier, I haven't been watching the discussion thread! Now that has been remedied. Also, I should note that while I don't yet know anything about this scenario, I am also GMing a table for a higher tier (3-4). As such, there may be times where I need to back off on the decision making since I may already know what's ahead. Haliphod is primarily a conjurer of both creatures and storms, with a back up wand of magic missiles (15 charges), and wand of CLW (50). Perception is +11, and stealth and survival make for an ok scout, but not many other skills. Currently have a variety of spells memorized, but sounds like we will need more critters, so I may swap out the shield and color spray for 2 more summon monsters.

Since this may be the only time I can post today, I will post now and you can adjust if necessary when Haliphod comes up in initiative. Hearing Omrijka's plan, Haliphod starts casting Summon Nature's Ally (in place of Speak with Animals).

Haliphod casts speak with animals, and tells the eagle that he should fly into the next room and report back what is there, once Seiran is ready to open the door. Got a few rounds left, so might as well make use of this eagle.

I forgot Haliphod's actions, since the summon was automatic.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Haliphod shivers, as the scream cuts to the bone. But he is made of sterner stuff.

Haliphod finishes his summons, and a fierce looking eagle appears near the flying creature. It swoops in to attack in aeriel combat. Talon: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Wow, what garbage rolls! At least Omrijka gets to flank... Haliphod says triumphantly, "Now take that!" And then he slaps his hand to his forehead, seeing how the eagle couldn't even touch the creature.
