"Looks good to me. Seems like if we come across anymore of these? It'll be best to toss them out. They'll be back to normal." Seiran reports back after following them.
Haliphod Kittrili
|
"Interesting... that is very good to know! Also, it seems it was a good call to not kill them."
Haliphod starts looking around the room they were in, and then says "Hey? Wasn't there a voice in here somewhere? Best continue to be on our guard."
| Dungeon Master S |
"let me out of here!!!!" says the cabinet.

| Dungeon Master S |
The screaming turns to blubbering. "My name is Saldak... I'm in here to hide from the mists!"
The cabinet door opens, slowly. From inside emerges a very obese man in scribe's robes. His jowls quaver and shake with terror as he recounts his tale. "The offices suddenly flooded with a strange mist early this morning, and that tendrils of it seemed to pour down Kadarnik’s and Yannis’ throats moments before they went stark mad and beat Milgen to a pulp. Nigel was taking stock of the pieces in storage at the time. I'm fairly certain the Tik Taan idols are responsible for the museum’s current predicament. I smelled something wrong with those hideous monkey-faced things as soon as Lugizar brought them out of his pack. I’ve a nose for trouble, I do! No one listens!”
Saldak roots around the office and produces a strange cloth. "This is Jambala Jaeg cloth. Note the words on the cloth."
The cloth (made from beaten bark) is quite ancient. The script. Saldak points out, is not only a warning against the idols’ corrupting powers, but also a powerful chant that dispels their influence over men. "If any of you are skilled in Bardic music you can use it over and over again. Anyone who can read magic can, but without bardic skill the writing will fade like a scroll. Speaking of scrolls, I owe you my life and I want to pay you pack."
He rummages through a desk and hands over a small pile of scrolls. Cure moderate wounds, false life, and dispel magic.
Haliphod Kittrili
|
"Wow, this is neat. Those Mwangi are a tricky bunch, aren't they? And as for bardic tunes..."
Haliphod belts into song. It is a bawdy little piece about gnomes running naked through the forest, and the singing is simply atrocious. "Never took one lesson!"
Silgil
|
Silvio chuckles at the singing, then motions to Saldak to give the gnome the scroll.
how about I take the dispel scroll?
Seiran Leogil
|
Seiran winces at the horrible singing but tries his best to endure it to the end. Handing the scroll over to Silgil.
"Here. Take the scroll. It may turn out useful in time."
Turning to the man.
"Where can we find these idiols? Also were there anyone else?"
Samildanach The Dread
|
Samildanach listens to the clerk's tale with a stern expression, shaking his head softly throughout the story of woe and enraged co-workers. As Seiran, his sensitive ears twitch as he flinches at the awful singing coming from the Gnome.
"I shall take the cure scroll, may be a useful addition. Clerk, would you tell me if our map is still accurate, and what the exhibits are?"
The half orc takes out the visitor map and shows it to the clerk
| Dungeon Master S |
"the room on the other side of this wall." the man points a meaty finger to the east.
"I think that's it, though who knows what those things conjured up. I'm out of here!"
True to his word, he flees the museum.

Silgil

Gesturing to the door down the hallway Silgil says, "Perhaps we should go right for the door with the strange monkeys?"
Then gesturing to the door he paused at he adds, "This is the next door, but I don't know that we should go looking for trouble if we can bypass it."
Samildanach The Dread
|
Samildanach follows the dwarven wizard out of the offices and looks around the dead exhibit as they go through, cautious of the mist rising and causing more of the exhumed creatures to animate and attack them. Back in the hallay he breathes easier standing by the next door.
"Aye, getting to the root of the problem sooner rather than late may be wise, remove the taint on this accursed place."
He waits for Om, the reside t expert, to check the door before proceeding.

A large placard above the entryway to this hall reads “Hunting the Beasts of Legend” in great block letters. This gigantic chamber is relatively free of mist, and darkness is held at bay by braziers of radiant light. Behemoths occupy these halls, great taxidermy nightmares such as a two-headed bear easily taller than an ogre; a great desiccated beetle, its carapace larger than the face of the clock tower of Absalom’s Clockwork Cathedral; a massive specimen of chimera, its jaws open in a mock roar; and an assembled skeleton of a tyrant lizard. The walls here are studded with strange masks, staves, spears, and other implements of long forgotten cultures, most likely used in ritual hunts of the beasts preserved here.
Map is up to date.
