Standing beside Celif, Argyros nods in agreement.

See what you can learn Celif, I would know what I am getting involved in rather than mindlessly charging in and killing.

Hearing the sudden excitement from ahead, Argyros moves forward, sword at the ready.

Move to R8

Knowledge: History: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

I doubt Argyros knows anything about the older structure.

Whishpering, Argyros addresses Imowen as she departs Be careful, that sounds like the swamp witch

What does Argyros see once he crosses that ledge? I'm not sure what skills would be relevant other than perception.

Stepping up to survey the ledge, Argyros volunteers to go after Thorgrim, I can take up a defensive position on the far side while everyone else crosses

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Watching Imowen inspect the door, Argyros readies his sword.

Hopefully there are no more of those undead. That was .... unpleasent.

Please place Argyros at M28

This is a sacred site, not just to you but to Septimus as well. It is also a place where evil has been at play, actively seeking to corrupt the holy works within.

I hope, when this affair has been brought to rest, that we can work out a trade agreement with your people that is fair while still allowing my people access to goods from the swamps.

Gezzo, I agree on growing pains being a good thing. Random people recruited in a pub and instantly working perfectly as a team makes sense for expediency, but how often does it really work like that? You're going to have personalities; there are unknown issues and hidden motives.

The growing pains and people willing to put enough into their characters to have personalities, issues and hidden motives is part of what is making this group so much fun.

I don't know why or how those spirits were imprisoned, but it is well that they were set free.

We still should have waited until morning though. I don't believe in taking unnecessary chances.

I doubt the sarcophagus is going anywhere tonight. We should eat and rest before we risk another fight like that last one.

I am Nastrod, I fear the undead managed to get a rather firm grip on me before we could put them down.

HP 18/26

HP: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

I'll take average 8)

And my sword awakens 8)

Following Imowen, Argyros shakes his head sadly.

As much as I prefer optimism Gezzo, it looks like you found your corruption. I don't know if we dare retreat to rest, and that undisturbed coffin intrigues me. Why was it alone left undisturbed.

The statement was continually made that we observed the creatures wounds repairing themselves. I'm not sure if that stopped once they erupted.

Stepping back as soon as Thorgrim drops the creature attacking him, Argyros voices a serious concern.

These bodies are still repairing themselves. We need to burn them or douse them in holy water.

That may actually come in useful one day.

Argyros attempts to break the creatures hold on him and step back.

Arcane Strike, you never know when you'll get an AoO

Escape: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

If I succeeded, I 5' step back to M23

HP 7/18

I agree we need to pull back. Don't think it's going to happen as long as they keep grappling Agyros though.

Argyros' current hit points are in his spoiler.

Story Master:
I did notice that I was grappled. The only change to my actions would have been using one hand on my attack instead of two. It would have reduced my total damage by 2 points, including the critical. I'll only be able to 5' step back if I dealt enough damage to kill the monster.

Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Lashing out at the undead creature in front of him, Argyros strikes a powerful blow before carefully retreating backwards towards the door.

Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Moving forward to engage the undead surrrounding Thorgrim, Argyros slashes futilely at the first opponent he reaches.

Arcane to to enchant scimitar, move to M23, attack #1 two handed

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

We're in trouble here, without a chance to rest, I don't have my defenses.

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Please move Argyros to N20

A dispute over ownership of the swamp or custody of a child is one thing, serving the lord of Chaos and desecrating a holy place are something else.

Argyros readies Llafn Du, no longer convinced the witch has any intentions of negotiating in good faith.

Argyros follows alone behind Thorgrim, carefully surveying the area as he proceeds

Move to L14

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Argyros casts light and follows Thorgrim down the corridor.

Sword arcing with magic, Argyros swings Llafn Du at the surprised ogre.

arcane pool to enchant scimitar, two-handed attack

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

I'll go, we may not get a second chance if we fail on the first attempt.

We should wait until Dawn.

Looking up from his studies, Argyros waves at Sirena as she leaves.

Good luck with the scouting

I don't think she's going to hurt him.

She may have plans for the boys power, but if you intended immediate harm, she would have already done it.

I'll not ask you to give up your lands, willingly or otherwise. I know what it means to have one's home taken.

We can rest here, the villagers permitting, but I do not plan on riding in weapons drawn.

Cayden is already traumatized enough without us trying to kill somebody who appears to be his mother.

Addressing whichever villager appears to be in change

May we rest the night peacefully? All of out futures will be shaped by these events. I would prefer they be shaped by trade negotiations and friendship, not by the sword.

Nastrod is trying to resolve the issue peacefully as well. I'll try to aid him.
aid Nastrod: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

We should continue on. We may never have the opportunity to talk if the ogres are stirred to war by our actions.

The humans will not leave your marshes, not while there is profit here.

Perhaps, though, arrangements could be made allowing you to trade goods to the village. Surely there is much you would be willing to trade for.

As for the Swamp Witch and her child, there is much we would discuss with her. The child's fate remains uncertain, but both should join the brotherhood, that is the law for good reason.

Aid Nastrod: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Despoil?

No, but I do mean to talk to her.

Congradulations, you just killed a bunch of innocents trying to protect their homes.

There was no reason we could not have resolved this without drawing weapons

Walking into the Mist, Argyros, sheathes his sword. Surrender before anyone else is killed.

There is obviously much more to the boy than we realized.

I had moved to X17 on my last turn. Moving to W12 this turn.

I should have provoked an attack of opportunity.. I walked away from the beastman and approached the mist before talking.

I agree that the rules talk about AoOs that are between two enemies resulting from maneuvers are typically not allowed (i.e. I bull rush you for 10 feet, I don't get an AoO because I moved you out of my threatened squares). But, I don't see anything for a second opponent dragging my target opponent away from me triggering (or not) an AoO.

If I use Bull Rush, nobody else gets an AoO either, unless I use Greater Bull Rush. The same holds true for Drag and Reposition.

It's a two feat cost for any combat maneuver that forces movement to provoke AoO's from anybody.

Ultimately it is the DM's call. I won't comment again and only did so originally after a request was made for examples. I prefer to do my rules lawyering in the Rules forum.

Confronting the beastman before him, Argyros swings at it in passing before advancing into the mist.

Are you attacking? Beastman I is at AA-20, so you are adjacent.

Total damage to Beastman C is 11 from Imowen's bolt.

I cannot attack this turn. Standard action to cast + a move action

Shaking his head in frustration at his failed attempt at a peaceful solution, Argyros weaves a brief spell in the air before moving forward to engage the nearest half-man.

Seeing his companions eagerness to negotiate at sword point, against a numerically superior opponent, Argyros reaches for his sword.

Dammit, we were talking. Could you at least let us find out the entire story before attacking.

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Walking up beside Nastrod, sword sheathed, Argyros also shows his empty hands.

We mean you no harm, we seek simply to pass through your village.

Assist Nastrod
