I was looking over my weapons for a character and noticed my trusty longish-range weapon, my Sling. I stopped and asked if I could put a +1 Potency rune on this weapon. Would this give my 10 leaden balls a + 1 bonus to hit or damage? Could these balls be ghost touched, etc? If I hung my potency crystal on the sling and activate it does this make the balls +1? Thanks for the input.
I have a Champion with a Scimitar. I am trained and 3rd lvl with a strength mode of +3. I believe that the first swing is +8, and the second swing gets a circumstance bonus of the number of weapon damage dice. My question is for the 2nd swing does that mean I get +1 (1 die) or +6 (ie d6) or +8 (d6 + ?). And what is the double on the 3rd swing?

Nefreet, That is a very good idea. I was thinking of doing it with Cardboard, but foam sheets sound like they may last for more than one game. Cool, Thanks. For F2F play what do you do for maps? If it is general wilderness or a small bunch of buildings or a room or two, I will draw it beforehand. But when it is a large cavern or underwater citadel that doesn't work for me (I have a -10 modifier on my art talent). It is only a little over a week until the Con, so I can't buy them from the Paizo store (ships in 11+ days from the warehouse). Do you use a program to enlarge the maps Paizo gives in the module to full 5 to the inch format (I hope the local Staples could print it if I could come up with a compatible format for their machine)?
I am very grateful for this advice! As I think over games with good(some great) GMs all of these items fit their actions and attitudes. I will aim to keep all of these in mind as I do the best job I can.
Thank you very much.
I am going to be GMing two scenarios F2F in two weeks at a good size Con. I started looking over the modules and realized just how much I am used to doing things on VTT. I now need to get the physical items like mini/pawn and mats. So, first off, what do you all do when the scenario says "Creature X", do not have any "Creature X" mini/pawns and the encounter needs 6. If this was a home game I would just 6 coins and show them a picture of X. Since this is a Con, however, I am less inclined to do that. Likewise, There are 3 encounter maps in each game, again that I do not have. Now there are images of the maps in the scenarios. So do I break out the dry erase marker and dup the maps on 5-to-the-inch tiles? Or is there a good way to do "theater of the mind"? I think I have become a little lazy playing two-plus years on VTTs. I think I may have lost some of my edge.
I am going to enjoy GMing again in a while. I remember playing the Scenario back when it first came out. That seems like a lifetime ago. I want to make this a real 6 out of 5 experience for the players. I was wondering if any of the GMs that are doing this regularly could give me some ideas of what I could do to make this game really great. I am going to get the scenario printout tomorrow. So I should have some ideas then. Thanks for any ideas you care to share. Greg
Ed Reppert wrote: multiclass dedication feats are class feats, so you get them every even level. If you got Druid dedication at the 2nd level, you can get your 2nd feat at the fourth level, and your 3rd feat at the sixth level. Then at the eighth level, you could add another dedication, another at the fourteenth level, and another at the 20th. Not sure such a character would be viable, though. :-) Ed, thank you for making a clear statement about this. The only issue that didn't touch on was if these feats are in lew of gaining Sorcerer Feats or in addition to them. I know that this may sound simple. But I don't want to go into Paizo Con 2022 and have to rush corrections on the character. Thanks
I am a little uncertain about a PFS 2e process I have a Sorcerer (9 LVL) he has a Druid Dedication (Wild).
The description of Druid with order Willed is that you also gain the Wild Shape druid feat. You gain the wild morph order spell also. Is this feat in addition to other feats that I obtain or in lew of them? The same question for the spell. Does this spell count against the spell slots for the druid or is it an innate spell? Thanks
I will come out and state first that I am new to preparing PFS 2e, and have zero hands-on experience doing for VTT. Therefore my request would be for one or two of you "Done it a hundred times" GMs to do a podcast (or series) taking a year 1 scenario and walk us, newbies, through "GM Prep for VTT" 101. Before you ask yes I would be willing to through my bag of copper and silver coins in to be able to watch/download this. Thanks for thinking about it. GregDC
Considering that I have only played these Mega-Table games F2F I am wondering how (or even if) those of us that will be playing online during Gencon 2022 will play this game? Will, there be a single VTT used? Are VTTs even taken into consideration in the design? I could easily understand why it might be a huge amount of work to include it. Oh, I am also wondering when I could pre-Order this game. GregDC

I am starting to put together a new homebrew adventure series based on PF2e. I have done this with D&D3e many years ago. I need some pointers on how to populate the various encounters. I have heard that there is a system to start picking monsters. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
I have a +1 Dagger with a return rune engraved on it. At the beginning of my turn, I throw the Dagger at the opponent. 1. Does it have time to hit, do damage, and return to me in time for my next attack with it?
Thanks for the information!
I am about to start playing a Redeemer Champion with a background as a Bounty Hunter. My questions are simple:
I created the Character to be a Bounty Hunter that always tries to bring the bounty in alive. I am wondering how this has played out with people here.

Yes, I took the Animal Order as my Druid Dedication. I am going to look into Basic Wilding and Beastmaster. I seem to have missed some important info here. Thanks to all of you for helping me get this straight.
I have seen all sort of answers to this question:

I didn't know about the VIP/Non-VIP thing. Warhorn has VIP, but I thought that it the Warhorn-VIP's starting a couple of days ago. So that makes some sense.
I should have this skill by now, but all my spells are SNAFU in my Roll20 spell sheet. The damage never rolls up correctly! So I am asking if some understanding soul will help me. I am a 7th level Sorcerer. I have the following spells:
I know there has to be a formula for at least some of these (Base_Damage+Chr+Level_Bump) but I don't seem to get it right when I try to put it into Roll20 Character Sheet. Thanks to anyone that wants to help me!
Deadmanwalking wrote: Er...how do you have the ability to add Focused Rejuvenation and Independence? If it's something on top of just having 6 Familiar Abilities available to pay for being a Faerie Dragon it would stack, yes. These two abilities are listed as abilities that someone can give their Familiar ( APG page 146 ). OR am I missing your point and the 6 abilities that these familiars have is all it can have?
I seem to be easily confused. The CRB states " Your familiar can’t be an animal that naturally has more familiar abilities than >your daily maximum< familiar abilities." However, the APG states, for the dragon, ">Required Number of Abilities 6<
I gather I MUST give this familiar "flight" each day. I can grant one more ability BUT "manual dexterity", "amphibious", "darkvision", "speech", and "touch telepathy" are also Familiar abilities. Where am I missing the logic? Thanks for the help.
I am told that my questions about Familiars should be posted in this forum, and not in general Pathfinder 2ed forum. Though I will say that all the people that responded to my question "Does a Raven familiar have a beak attack" were very nice and had a very lively discussion on the topic!
"if the familiar is an animal and animals can be trained to do a given task, then a familiar could be trained to do given tasks" I am asking this forum where (and why) my logic is incorrect. I am not trying to break rules, but I am trying to understand and still think outside the box on things. Thank you for your help.
I really hate to bring this idea up, but that seems to be my superpower. If the familiar(statblock) is an "animal", animals can be trained as companions, one of the skills is "flyby attack". So if A is a subset of B, then action C that works on B should work on A. You can now tutor me on why logic does not work in the PFS universe.
OK, I think I get it. I picked a raven, so raven it is. I can choose from the list of familiar abilities and pick two. The number shall be two. Not Three or Four, unless you have a feat for that. What the familiar is it has no "natural abilities". But it will always be a statblock that looks like the name you gave it when you picked it to start with. So there is NO effective difference between familiars EXCEPT the two abilities I give it each day. Again thank you all for your input!
First of all, I do apologize for posting in the wrong forum.
My hope in getting a familiar Raven was the ability to scout ahead for ambushes, obstacles, or specific landmarks report back to at the end of the day. The second was to have a companion that could dive in and do some damage/distraction and then get out of there. It doesn't look good for that now.
Nefreet, Now that is a new idea to me (I guess I didn't read the CRB close enough my bad).
where in CRB are the lists of abilities that I can train a familiar to have? And how many feats can they have?
Oh, BTW all of my questions are for society play
OK, this is going to seem like a rather PFS 101 question. I have a character that has several Cantrips, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level spells. What are the rules for:
2. When casting a 1st level spell (1d8 damage) with a Heightened +1 as a 3rd level spell become 3d8 or 2d8 damage? I know that this will use one of the 3rd level slots up.
My character has a Raven for a familiar. In today's game, the question came up if I can command my Raven to do a fly-by beak attack on an enemy. Ravens in the Beastiary have a Melee attack, but some people point to the lack of any fly-by attack for birds under the familiar rules in CRB.
