Sorry for the delay. I went camping for the Easter long weekend and didn't expect to have no resception.. Which has now merged into a week away at the Gold Coast of Australia. Visiting some Themeparks with the kids. I'll try to get some posts in this week but my time is going to be limited. Things should kick off again on the 24th of April at the latest.

<Got it...> Gavryn says over comms. " Lets hit them hard and try to draw as many away as we can!" he says to Burgurk and Jazz He activates his armour shell and levels his rifle at the nearest Skelebot and fires off a few laser blasts and then runs through the trees towards the west flank of the clearing, keeping his pace so that Jazz and Burgurk can keep up. Range: 25/50/100

Gavryn adds to the map in the dirt, describing the way to Castle Refuge to the leader of the D-bees. "I can't guarantee your safety if you strike out to find the castle on your own, but if you hide here I can't guarantee your safety either... Ultimately the decision is yours. Head for the castle now or wait here to be reunited with your kin and trek back with us." After drawing the map and showing the leader, he makes sure to scrub it out again with his foot. I vote for the whole group to go... As the group heads off in the direction of the 'Metal box' Gavryn strides ahead to catch up with Auriel. "Mind if I scout ahead with you?" Stealth: 1d6 ⇒ 4

"I agree with Auriel. We have to at least check this out. Scout out the area and then decide what to do next. What if the Coalition are planing to move them soon... For all we know the big metal box could be a vehicle. " "If it doesn't seem time sensitive them we can take a few hours to rest but I won't leave these people in the hands of the Coalition... "

As Auriel tries to work out a language these folk can speak Gavryn copies the gesture that the older male made and then opens his pack slowly, offering them a little food and water.

Not sure what's gonna be salvageable after that Boomgun blast :P Gavryn nods at the blue skinned folk, hanging his rifle over his shoulder. He approaches them slowly with Auriel "You're safe, don't worry we won't harm you. " He removes his helmet and holds it under an arm.

My armour has the healing power that can be used on myself of others but I see that Burgurk also has the healing power, and has a better psionics skill than me so I'll leave it to him...

Awesome, I have visual... I guess I was kind of confused about which way the D-Bees were running... I thought they were running towards our position. No matter though, I shall dispatch these skelebots and then they will be safe... :D And wow, sounds like the Glitter Girl is not the safest place to take cover... XD

If we have a few moments to prepare after Jazz's warning: Smiling beneath his helmet as Jazz says Skelebots, Gavryn slides his rifle to his back on its sling and begins charging across the open clearing.
Then with a moments thought he activates his glowing blue Psi-Sword, ready to charge into battle! Pace 11"
Active powers : Psi Sword (currently non mega damage) Cyber Armor Shell (+2 Toughness)

Gavryn slides his helmet on and stands tensely beside the Glitter-Girl, his rifle is pointed at the dirt, eyes scanning the area ahead. Almost subconsciously he summons his Cyber armour shell that covers his skin beneath his regular armour.

Gavryn accepts the hug somewhat awkwardly and when he pulls back a single tear can be seen making its way down his cheek. "Thank you Jonis, that would mean a lot. " " Alright, looks like we have around six days of walking and sleeping rough ahead of us, so lets gather up our supplies and move out. " Gavryn says, grabbing the large survival pack he left outside the conference room, throwing the strap over his shoulder and taking the lead towards the open hanger doors.

Looking slightly ashamed Gavryn replies. "I'm sorry, did she fall in the siege, I think you've maybe mistaken me for my elder brother, Ser Walt Wyat? I didn't... I wasn't there, at Tolkeen. My brother and my mother, Lady Aliz, were though. I haven't been able to find them since but I still hold to hope that they're out there somewhere. And please, just call me Gavryn."He follows the team out into the garage, watching the Cyborg with the slightest amount of distrust, especially after its comment about "enemies of the Emperor" was it possible that a Borg could have some kind of hidden programming that could take over at the worst moment? Who knew... He finds a smile as he watches the positively bubbly Jazz climb all over the power armor with excitement. He watches the Glitter Girl 101 lesson with a little interest, listening in particular to its offensive and defensive capabilities.

Hey folks, unfortunately we had a blackout tonight (and I don't get Mobile phone reception at my house). The powers just come in but it's really late so I'm not gonna get a post out tonight. Sorry!

Fitting in with the 13th century style castle, Gavryn wears body armour styled after a medieval knights but with modern touches, a super fine chain mesh, with composite metal and ceramic plates, he holds a full visored helm under his arm. He has dark shoulder length hair, half tied back. A Wilks pistol is holstered on his right thigh and a NG-L5 laser rifle is slung over his back. Gavryn chuckled as Jazz called Burgurk "Just Burgurk". He'd worked with Burgurk briefly before, and knew the Simvan would have his back when things got messy. "Sir Wyat, at your service. You can all call me Gavryn though" he introduced himself to those he didn't know. "I'm specialised in combat, and best up close, though I prefer to use negotiation to find a peaceful solution where possible... " He looks to Auriel, "Perhaps we could spar later, practice our swordplay " he says with a nod at the other swordsman.

Looks like it. If they have MDC armour you need a weapon that does MDC damage to hurt them. That's ok though. We've got a Glitterboy :P We can always shoot at the hover bike riders. Corsario wrote:
I'm not sure what the Samas's toughness is but it looks like for every 4 points the boom guns damage exceeded it by, a wound would be caused. Applying Damage The damage of an attack is compared to the victim’s Toughness just like a Trait roll (though it isn’t one so you can’t spend a Benny on it). With a success, the victim is Shaken. For each raise over his Toughness he suffers a wound as well, as shown below:

" Coalition. " Gavryn growls, " Yeah, step on it Carl! " So my rifle has a range of 100 yards... it might be a while before we can engage. (And even then it seems it doesn't do mega damage, so it probably couldn't harm these guys.)

" Sounds good, I'm looking forward to working with you. " Gavryn says shaking Solaire's hand. Gavryn wears a modern style armour made of composite bands and plates with a metal mesh underlay. The pauldrons and helmet however have a medieval style, painted blue and white with a black lion motif. The helmet has a visor that unseals and flips up. A NG-L5 laser rifle is slung over his shoulder and a wilks pistol sits in a holster strapped to his right thigh. " Yeah, let's get down there. " he says, hoping into one of the rear seats of the Big Boss, his rifle sitting across his lap.

" Looks surprisingly peaceful... lets head in and check it out. " Gavryn abandoned his Squireship to Sir Drystan and travelled to Castle Refuge after the fall of Tolkien, hoping to find news of his mother and brother there. He decided to stay and help out to take missions exactly like this in the hope that perhaps he'll find his family members among the refugees. He has now been fully Knighted. Gavryn sees the coalition as an enemy that must be fought to protect those Dbees and magic users who are innocent. His short term goals are to find (or find news of) his mother and brother and Helping to strengthen Castle Refuge. His long term goal is to help build a world where all beings can feel welcome and safe.

I have 900 credits to my name... if that helps I'll throw it in. It wasn't enough to buy anything at all really so I just thought I'd save it all... So Glitterboys have a speed of 10? Gavryn's speed is 11. So a walking Glitterboy does about 6 miles an hour or about 11 mph when running? Is that right?
Vrog Skyreaver wrote: From what I've read in the player's guide, you should be getting the additional edge if you are human, as iconic frameworks are stapled onto the standard character creation rules for SW. It also mentions the additional edge that humans gets on page pg. 48. Ah, cool. I missed that :) Guess I better pick one. I've swapped out my Heroic Hindrance for arrogant.

I was looking rough the Savage Worlds core and noticed that Humans get an extra edge? Are we meant to take that in Rifts or is human just standard and you get nothing?

Certainly one of the weaker parts that still needs work... My idea is that my mentor, Sir Drystan, was one of the Knights who decided to stay out of the war. So being his Squire I had little choice but to follow him even though I disagreed and wanted to fight by my brother and mothers side. After Tolkeen was destroyed Gavryn reached his breaking point leaving Sir Drystan to search for his mother and brother hoping they were still alive.
Kip84 here :) Gavryn's Backstory: (work in progress) A very young Cyber-Knight, Sir Gavryn did not fight in the Siege of Tolkeen, but was serving as a Squire to another knight elsewhere. His Mother (Lady Aliz the Agile), and elder brother (Sir Walt) both Cyber-Knights as well, fought at the siege and are now missing. After checking around Lazlo Gavryn heard about Castle Refuge and travelled there to search for them. He hasn't found them yet and no one seems to know what happened to them. Gavryn was Knighted at Castle Refuge and has vowed to serve in the Tomorrow Legion to fight for a better tomorrow. Starting Credits: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9 |
