![]() Without a Tech Priest, unfortunately I doubt any of us would have the required expertise. We could attempt to ambush any who leave and interrogate them, but they will soon catch on and be on alert. If someone could scale the mountain, we could get a vantage point and garner more information. The direct approach is our only viable option as of the moment. ![]()

![]() I have no experience with mountain climbing, and my leg injury would only hinder us further. Unfortunately, I believe my only way in shall be through disguise. And let us not forget, though it looks imposing, it is built upon the foundations of treason and heresy! The Emperor walks with us, and if we stay true in faith, we will crumble this fortification for we our His Hammer! Garion will wear a disguise, preferably from an officer if possible. ![]()

![]() Jermaie speaks truthfully, not all of us will be able to use subterfuge to make our way inside. Unfortunately, we need more info about this compound to truly know how to proceed. We need to continue north, and when we get closer, make our way on foot and scout out the premises first. It would be folly to simply drive up and hope we can talk our way past all of them. And let us not forget, our primary goal is to take the General alive, if at all possible. I am skilled in dealing with others, and believe I should accompany the team that enters the compound. As Jermaie said, the others should create a distraction and prepare an escape. Any other thoughts? ![]()

![]() Garion spends the week recovering, but once his strength is back, he gladly takes shifts at the watch. He also shares what he knows about the Eldar with the squad, and works to keep morale up, focusing on the positive side of things. When Jermaie comes and speaks with him... Garion looks at Jermaie, his face an impassive mask as the man speaks. Finally, when he finishes, Garion looks down upon the weaponry, then picks up the sword, idly examining it as he responds. As he talks, his face goes from impassive to a more compassionate, almost fatherly look. It shows caring, concern, and perhaps most bewildering of all to Jermaie, pride. Reaching out, he takes Jermaie by the shoulder, making sure he has the mans full attention as he speaks. Jermaie...you say that you and yours had a code, a sworn oath to protect each other. Here too, united under the Emperor, Brothers in his grand Guard, do we swear to protect each other. You claim that you failed in your duties, and as such, it is my duty to end your life. I say that there was no failure, and in fact, you did more than can be expected from most men. We were ambushed, by the vile and cunning Eldar. Frail, weakminded creatures, but vicious and cruel. They knew they stood no chance against the Warriors of the Imperium. They knew in a fair fight, they would be crushed beneath your blade, spitted upon your righteous anger! They knew that Jermaie Dael, my Brother, would crush their Xenos filth beneath his boot! So, what did they do? They used trickery and foul xenos tech to lull you to sleep, to catch us off guard. You did not fail, for what could you have done? We had no way of knowing foul Xenos were awaiting us in these forest, and nothing could have prepared you for your first encounter with them. I remember my first battle against Xenos. I watched men tremble and quake in fear as I attempted to rally the line. I watched brave and noble men succumb to terror and flee! But you, my brother, did not flee. You did not give in! Using that combead may have given you the briefest of hints that something was wrong, and you did not turn away, but rose to the challenge! When the Xenos attacked, did you quake and tremble? NO! You stood your ground, mastered your fear, and even saved my life Jermaie. No, there is no failure here. You rose above and beyond what most men would have done in this situation, and I would in fact commend you. Your quickness to act not only saved my life, it could have perhaps even saved the Squads. I am proud, my friend, to call you Brother. Now take up your arms, Warrior of the Emperor! You have done no wrong this day. We will mourn for our fallen when the mission is done, but for now their is Righteous Anger and Wrathful Justice to be visited upon the Enemies of Him on Earth, who now may be trafficking with the Foul Xenos! Take your grief, and turn it into a Blade of Hatred, and let us together, you and I, wield it against those who would dare to stand against Brothers in the Emperor's Name! ![]()

![]() Sorry about the delay, computer was down. As the squad continues, Garion attempts to rest whilst conversing in hushed tones with Wikavya regarding the Xenos they just saw. Though the man seems to know much, perhaps even too much, Garion does not mention it, merely consulting and combining their info to attempt to gather what facts they can regarding this unknown enemy. ![]() Groggily coming too, Garion suddenly snaps awake, straining to reach for his weapons but overcome by the pain. Lying back, he lets out a long, rasping cough, before settling down, breath coming in sharp short gasp. Calming, and seeing that his squad is safe, he begins to take in his surroundings. Comrades...where...where are we now? What happened to the foul Xenos abominations? He tries to sit up, but falls back painfully as he coughs up some blood. By the Emperor, those thrice damned Xenos and their foul weaponry! I will personally condemn their damned souls straight to the hell that is the Warp as I shatter their souls with the fire of my faith!!! Again, managing to calm himself, Garion leans back and finally relaxes, looking over at Jermaie and Wikayva. Guardsmen, I appreciate you getting me out of there. Not everyone would have maintained the composure and sound mind to stick together as a squad, but we came through the crucible of fire through our bonds as warriors, and shared faith in the Emperor. What is the plan now? Do we have any idea what direction we are traveling? And Baldur, do you have a course of action in mind? I would recommend we tend to our wounds, gather what supplies we still have, and refocus on the mission at hand. Taking down the heretical Dominate General! ![]()

Heroic though his action was, it was foolish nonetheless, and Garion collapses upon the ground, seemingly dead. Should be at -12, so I believe im dead. Will burn my only fate point if I have too. Part of me wonders if I should just die and make something more survivable or combat savvy. Ill continue for now. ![]()

![]() Looking back, Garion quickly takes in the tactical predicament Cort is. His scholars would have taught him to back down, that his wounds were to great to intervene. But, his faith in the Emperor tells him The Emperor Protects, and he cannot leave a man behind. Raising his Bolt Pistol with a prayer on his lips, he sends one last volley of suppressing fire at the Xenos harassing Cort. He then leans forward, an arm outstretched towards Cort. The Emperor Protects, Cort! Xenos filth such as this shall not bring you down! Shake them off like the vermin they are, and take my hand! 1d100 ⇒ 37 ![]()

![]() Garion's faith in the Emperor, and in Imperium issued Flak Armor, allows him to take the shot, which luckily does not penetrate. Having recovered, Garion aims another volley of suppressing fire at the Xenos firing upon the stretcher team! GM, can I use my previous roll? It doesnt matter because I dont hit, but still. ![]()

![]() When the rest of you are dead or corrupted, but I make it back, I will make sure to include how brave and expenda...cough cough I mean HEROIC! How heroic each of you was as I bravely faced down 100...no 300 XENOS, Bolt Pistol running dry and my Chain Sword clogged with the gore of my foes, and in the end I show my compassion and loyalty to my lost squad as I grieve over your fallen executed...I mean martyred, bodies! ![]() Assuming you can shoot while pinned... Garion grits his teeth, glaring through the rain of projectiles at the flying xenos. Shouting defiantly, he unleashes another round of suppressing fire from his Bolt Pistol. ROF for Pistol is S/2/-/ am I correct that suppressing fire uses 2 rounds? If so, after this volley my clip will have 2 left. Suppressing Fire: 1d100 ⇒ 6 Im in the negatives with my penalties, cannot remember what the min to hit is. ![]() Damnit, Paizo forums ate my post!!! Essentially, I am posting two actions, pending what everyone else chooses to do. Assuming the others agree to carry me:
Warp take this leg, I cannot run or flee! Carry me upon the stretcher, and I will cover you as best I am able! The Emperor Protects! Half Action to move to Stretcher, Half Action to use Guarded Action.
Assuming they refuse or are unable to carry me: The Emperor Protects, Warriors of the Imperium! Flee now, get to cover and join up with Baldur and Cort. I shall cover you as best I am able. Leave me, I can only slow you down! Fear not for me, THE EMPEROR PROTECTS! FOR THE EMPEROR!!! Inspire: 1d100 ⇒ 91

![]() Hmm, fair point. I will post two courses of Action, pending whatever the rest of the group chooses to do.
Assuming the others agree to carry me:
1st Course of Action- Warp take this leg! I cannot move quickly on my own. Grab the stretcher, and I shall cover you as best I can. The Emperor Protects! Assuming someone agrees, Garion moves to the stretcher and prepares to be moved. Half Action to Move, and Half Action to use Guarded Action. Garion gets a +10 to any Evasion checks he makes this round, but suffers a -10 to any WS or BS Test.
--------------- Assuming they refuse or are unable to carry me: 2nd Course of Action- Assuming no one moves to the stretcher, or refuses to, Garion stoically takes stock of his situation and accepts his fate. Inspire: 1d100 ⇒ 45
The Emperor Protects, Warriors of the Imperium! Quickly, get to Baldur! I shall cover you! May my sacrifice buy you the time you need. Flee now, and do not fear for me! THE EMPEROR PROTECTS! FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
