HP 10/20┃AC 18, FF 17, T 11, CMD 14┃F 5, R3, W 4┃Perception +9 (+1 vs traps), Init +1 I'm off to two different conventions this weekend (I really wish they'd not been scheduled on the same day). This will very likely be my last post until Monday (I expect I'll be going to bed as soon as I make it home Sunday)

I'll look at all of your wounds in the meantime" Ganterra will treat deadly wounds on himself, Robert, Harthfield, and Riley. He will use 2 uses of the healers kit on each (vetinarian kit on Harthfield). He will take 10 for a 25 so everybody gets 6 hit points back and anotherv2 for a nights rest. That took 4 hours. At that point, he'll get whatever sleep he can. Hopefully enough to not be Fatigued in the morning. I think Ashe and Trent are unharmed.

HP 10/20┃AC 18, FF 17, T 11, CMD 14┃F 5, R3, W 4┃Perception +9 (+1 vs traps), Init +1 Thanks. Missed that. Not sure how binding one characters opinion is :-). At the player level I admit to being very uncomfortable with the idea of playing with a small group under military command with the person in command being a NPC. That kind of automatically eliminates a whole set of interesting interactions (such as the current one). And runs the very real risk of us becoming largely GM sock puppets, getting input only on tactical decisions. Heck, if carried to its logical conclusion Beck will be making even those decisions. Note : That is NOT meant as a criticism of the current GM. I've had unfortunate experiences in small military groups in the past and am likely overreacting.

And, given that Ganterra is very much still trying to figure out his companions, I'd like to use it on your character if you're ok with that (PC skill vs skill rolls verges on PVP territory so I only do it if the players are ok with it) Ganterra looks around for Beck. HP 10/20┃AC 18, FF 17, T 11, CMD 14┃F 5, R3, W 4┃Perception +9 (+1 vs traps), Init +1 Following assumes the 10 doesn't put the fleeing guy down. Ganterra stands up, pointing at the fleeing one to Harthfield. "Go get him" Harthfield does a double move which should pretty much put him beside the fleeing guy (his base move is 50 so even assuming the trees are difficult terrain he has more than enough to make it) "Can't leave Harthfield alone. If somebody wanted to come, that would be good" Ganterra then runs after Harthfield, which would put him 15 feet off the grid. Tries to get some place where he has cover from the fleeing guy if at all possible

HP 10/20┃AC 18, FF 17, T 11, CMD 14┃F 5, R3, W 4┃Perception +9 (+1 vs traps), Init +1 Following gets a bit conditional. Sorry. I don't think that I'm overplaying Harthfield. I'm assuming Ganterra is ordering him around via whistles and pointing. It is on the order of what a well trained sheepdog can do in real life. But if you think I'm pushing things too hard let me know If the one that Trent hit is still alive Harthfield will hopefully end it. Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 for damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 If that ends the guy, Ganterra will order Harthfield to retreat to F3. If that bite does not put him down, its time for a couple of claws.
If THOSE end it, Harthfield will take a 5 ft step into J10 If the guy was already dead from Trents blow then Ganterra will tell Harthfield to go to M12 and attack the one at N13 Presumably use the bite from above, together with trip: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 At the end of all that, Ganterra will move to D3 and drop prone. He will try to hide in the process

I am hoping that I can move so that the tree that I'm behind does NOT provide cover. If that isn't true let me know and I'll move next round. Move action: reload xbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 I then send in Harthfield to J9 to attack the one at J10. Autosucceed on handle animal check bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 for damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 and a trip attempt of trip: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 "Well done harthfield" Do you want us to pre-roll likely AoOs? HP 10/20┃AC 18, FF 17, T 11, CMD 14┃F 5, R3, W 4┃Perception +9 (+1 vs traps), Init +1 Are we using Pathfinder rules here (ie: stabilized character can be moved without danger) or Realistic rules where moving him will likely kill him? No problem either way but need to know. Following assumes that in Ganterras professional opinion moving him would kill him "Moving him now would likely kill him. And we can't just abandon him. You keep watch while I operate. It will take about an hour, but I should be able to get him on his feet." When he gets the chance to operate Ganterra will heal deadly wounds on him using both his surgical tools and 2 uses from his healers kit. Taking 10 for a 25 means he gets back 4+his level hitpoints

HP 10/20┃AC 18, FF 17, T 11, CMD 14┃F 5, R3, W 4┃Perception +9 (+1 vs traps), Init +1 I'm inventing various details about the Torrio people and the circus. If you have any issues with what I'm inventing, please let me know You see a young man who, at first glance, would appear to be a normal soldier. In his mid twenties he is wearing a well crafted breastplate and a buckler, has a guisarme in one hand and a crossbow attached to his harness. Your second glance would take in his black hair, his dark complexion, and the tattoos he bears on his body and you would realize that he is clearly a Torrio, one of the aboriginal people living in the forest north of the River. Then you would notice that there is clearly more to the man. He is wearing a couple of colourful scarves that seem out of place on his otherwise utilitarian clothing. He is carrying a large backpack that has several items strapped to it for easy access, including a healers kit. At his feet, almost lost in the grass, is a small leopard wearing a leather harness to which are attached some bags that are obviously partially filled. "Well, that was quite a disaster. Are any of you injured at all? I've met a couple of you before but not all of you. Maybe introductions are in order. My name is Ganterra. As you can see, I'm a Torio. I'm still a loyal citizen of Pollexia, of course. The one thing that you NEED to know about me in the current circumstances is that I'm a remarkably good doctor. You keep me alive and I'll do my best to keep all of you alive as well. I'm ok in a fight but certainly not great. I'll be trying to mostly keep my head down as I think that I'll be a lot more good to everybody patching up the wounded rather than killing the enemy. Until I recently "enlisted" in the army I worked for the Andallan Travelling Circus. As with all Carnies, I picked up a wide range of skills to complement those I learned from my people. I'm a pretty good hunter, and am reasonably good dealing with people. This is Harthfield, a leopard I raised from a cub. He likes to think of himself as my personal bodyguard and who am I to argue with him? Don't underestimate him because of his small size, he is quite decent in a fight."

By the way, gorgeous map. Your work or did you "borrow" it? Oh, one key question. What are my people called? And what would I call the normal Pollaxians? Ganterra is largely in agreement with Robert. Our first priority should be survival. We then need to find somewhere where we can hole up, figure out what is happening in the kingdom, and if necessary do small things to protect a small area. Should we basically all assume that we know each other and look at each other stat blocks/personalities? Or do it live? Heck, doing it live is more fun :-) "Well, that was quite a disaster. Devan has improvisation so ALL skills technically count as trained for him (and he gets a +2 bonus to boot) so I've got all Craft, Perform, etc skills at least a little covered. The ones I listed are ones that I thought would be useful and that fit more into his back story. He also has inspiration so he can add a d6 to just about anything when it is important enough. If I take a second level of investigator at level 3 (my current plan) at that point I'll go up a fair bit in skills like perception, disable device.

He quickly makes sure that the plugs making his familiar satchel waterproof are in place and asks Leo to step inside. The satchel is one that he made especially for this voyage, it should float and Leo can get in and out himself. He wraps the rope tied to the satchel around his arm so that they will stay together no matter what unless he deliberately releases the satchel. He then grabs up and puts on his backpack. That should help a little. Its not as good as a proper flotation device but at least it has some positive buoyancy. And it will keep water out for a bit He ties a rope around his waist so that he can rapidly lash himself to something should the need arise. Makes sure that his dagger is both secure and ready to hand. Having prepared himself and Leo to the extent possible, he then turns to the ship. I don't think that there is time to throw the siege engines overboard!! If the storm catches one not lashed down we're all dead men. Tie them down!

Devan would have explicitly gone out and tried to learn the language that natives near where the expedition was going to spoke. Before the expedition sailed. Would that have been impossible? Edit: No problem at all if this couldn't happen. But it seemed a special enough case that I'd at least ask. Character background is that he picks up EVERYTHING insanely quickly (Fast Learner combined with IQ 16).
Since you said that we could, I thought that I'd apply with a second character (other character is definitely still applying) Devan Cye is a young devotee of Shelyn who is currently working as a Subaltern in the Royal Corps of engineers. Investigator/Bard Almost all of the full details are in my profile. If this character is picked I need to come up with languages and gear. To do so, I need a few questions answered. Since its no big deal thought I'd wait to see if he is chosen. |
