Gah, sorry, there's some life stuff going on right now that's going to keep me pretty inconsistent for the next week or so, and momentum's an important part of getting PBPs going, especially in the beginning, so I think I'm just going to bow out so I don't bog things down. Good luck, guys,

Okay, fixed the mistakes you pointed out, dropped the CLW wand and two smokesticks to pick up a Cloak of Resistance +1 instead.

Thanks for the heads-up; I have a blank statblock I work off of due to not actually owning Hero Builder, but I'm prone to making a few flubs. I'll have it all fixed up by the time I make my first IC post.

Even if there's only one Warpriest, two characters with better heal capabilities means I can shift Freddy's attention. I'll drop Ear-Piercing Scream for CLW and put the starting funds somewhere else.

Freddy checking in. He's currently serving as caravan guard. I built him for a lot of versatility, but I think given the presence of an Oradin and two Warpriests, I'll regear him a little to drop the Wand of CLW.

Freddy isn't set to any role or have any major aspirations. He just wants to do something big and make a name for himself, and intends to let the wind carry him off into whatever may come.

Freddy plays the whole jack-of-all-trades thing to the hilt. Spell selection is geared toward support and utility spells, buffing and debuffing, with the occasional damage-dealing Sonic spell, because it's a really good damage type. And of course, Charisma skills nonsense. He won't be too bad about dealing damage, but will be centered around having other things to do during combat.

@Sirsi: Not just bards, but bards with vaguely Celtic-ey names.

Okay, Freddy's mostly done. There's still a few things like shopping and bonus spells to deal with, but I've sank so much time into the sheet already that I'd rather leave it as-is for scrutiny, and then should I be picked, finish the other details up. Due to it being formatted for convenience, it's on the alias's profile.
HP roll: 8 + 9d8 + 10d12 + 3 + 17 + 120 ⇒ 8 + (4, 5, 2, 1, 3, 7, 6, 8, 1) + (6, 6, 9, 8, 3, 8, 11, 12, 2, 4) + 3 + 17 + 120 = 254

Afraid I might have to drop out, sorry. Started a new medication that's doing some weird things to my head and this game, while promising, is very full and has a lot to keep track of, and that's really disorienting me. Very sad to have to duck out, but I'll probably just be bogging down the game if I don't.

Freddy lets his steed go find somewhere dark to hide in, worrying that if he leaves it with the real animals, they might be disturbed by it. He draws his Wand of Alarm from his belt and casts the spell on the entrance to the cave. "The password for the day will be 'cave'. It's nothing special, but I hadn't the time to prepare a list of fancy words." The alarm will be sound-based.

"Faerdorcha Maercair," he says, tipping his hat to them. "But you may call me 'Freddy' for simplicity's sake."

Freddy grabs his horse by the reigns, looking back at his amassed companions and shaking his head. His horse may have had a silent gallop, but the others had proper mounts, which worried him. He didn't bother rousing his song, taking the voice's advice and readying to flee. The sole spell he'd cast on them would hopefully provide enough for everyone to manage until they were safe.

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Knowledge (Geography): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

Freddy's current performances and buff spells, which can be cast as asked, for in the spoiler.

Support stuff:
Performances: Inspire Courage +2, Inspire Competence +3
Spells: Shield of the Dawnflower (10 rounds, 1d6+10 damage), Cure Serious Wounds (3d8+10), Haste (10 rounds), Phantom Steed (10 hours), Tactical Acumen (10 rounds, +2), Gallant Inspiration (only on important situations when needed).
Wands: Cure Light Wounds (1d8+5), Feather Fall, Identify

As the battle draws nearer, Freddy finally gets up, casting Phantom Steed and climbing atop his mount, steeling himself. Three 3rd level spells remaining for the day. He then calls another spell, drawing a small portion of a map from his component pouch to focus on. Tactical Acumen cast: 10 rounds, +2. "Whenver you would gain a bonus on attack rolls or to AC due to battlefield position, such as flanking, higher ground, or cover, you gain an additional +1 insight bonus. This bonus increases for every five caster levels above 5th you possess."

Nine days atop his spectral mount had made Freddy remarkably bored. He'd given up singing for morale come the third day, and resorted to just tapping his fingers to a steady, empty beat on the saddle as they marched. On the tenth he stretched out and lingered on the ground as long as he could, missing the feel of ground beneath his feet, but not more than he missed a myriad of other things.

His eyes kept returning to the amassed legions, and each time he backed away just a little, fearful for what would come from their mission. He had to believe that they would succeed, because they were such a strange assortment of folks that they had to. It was precisely the sort of strange group of people who always came together for the heroic tasks he sang about, and it was a comforting thought to think that they could do it, and that if he was lucky, he could find some quiet tavern after it was all over where he could sing about what they've down.

He stands up at last, stretching out and preparing himself. He pulls his bow out and looks around, wondering which of his allies would benefit most from being hasted.

Wands would be easier, and more convenient when it comes to having and using them when wanted. Only need one hand to pull the wand off your belt and cast it, as opposed to going through your backpack for the scroll, unrolling it, then casting it.

Dodge was supposed to be Dex, my bad. I wrote this up at 3 AM and it involved downgrading a level 15 character with all kinds of s*%#, so I flubbed here and there. HP rolls were from in the recruitment thread before there was any word on rolls/averages/whatever. Fixing now. Thanks for the heads-up.

Agreed. Nine other sheets is a lot to look through, but did anyone else take Disable Device? Most skills can be pretty important, but that's the big one when it comes to nobody having it when you need it.

It's not a whole lot, but spells like Blistering Invective and Glitterdust, and his performance Dirge of Doom, mean I have some control for when a situation calls for it.

Freddy checking in. Alias and sheet are up, but I'm going to heavily tweak it so it isn't some mess made at 3 AM. For roles, Freddy is a pretty typical bard. He's built as a skill monkey/social character, taking lots of support and utility spells, and because he primarily wields a bow he can position himself however he needs to for his song. He's also got a Bag of Holding full of an insane amount of potentially-useful-but-probably-not items should the occasion ever rise for him to need them.

Freddy went on plenty of monster hunts in his travels, and definitely would have been drawn to someone like Bariel, maybe bought him dinner in exchange for some stories.

Freddy's crunch and backstory are now on-site and better explained, along with his stat and magic item math. The character sheet format doesn't leave much room for explanation or application of specifics (like his ranged to-hit and damage being modified by situational feats), but it's all laid out here.

I would be interested if Belsiard had met any of your characters in his years of wandering. Anyone interested in a link of some sort?

Both being wanderering musicians, it seems pretty likely that at some point, Belsiard and Feardorcha likely crossed paths. To what extent I don't entirely know, but Freddy would be pretty friendly to fellow bards and eager to swap stories over a drink, at the very least.

Been busy for the past few days, but the stat math is now in the profile. I did a little tweaking on his sheet, but for the moment everything about his crunch except for all the minor, non-magical items is finished. That part I'll probably leave for if he gets accepted, since it's lots of small things like adventuring gear and being prepared for anything, so it's not really a change to the character, and really time consuming. Other than that, or some changes to spell selection I may think of, he's just about done.
