"Where the black sky touches the white snow I see movement. A grey wolf. He pushes through the snow, watching me wearily. Harsh winds blow from the north, sculpting this frozen tundra. All life here is waiting, holding its breath for spring to come, for longer days whose sunlight will coax forth new life.
This wolf is oblivious to its patience. Oblivious to the freezing snow that fails to penetrate his dense winter fur. Determination alone drives him forward, on and on through the snow.
I can see now that he is not as small as he seemed from a distance. This wolf stands as tall as a horse, his nose level with my forehead. He is but a meter away from me, watching me with those forever vigilant eyes. I am as frozen as the ground beneath me, but with fear not cold. I show none of this on my face or posture, I stand tall and keep my expression relaxed.
“Friend,” I call, for I am no enemy of nature. The wolf tilts his head back and howls. Wind throws the snow around in a tantrum and the wolf gets lost in its fury. His spine-tingling howl echo’s in my mind but the lone wolf is gone and without him I am lost.
I know at once that this is no dream, I have never felt more awake than now, more alert, more cold. But a wolf that size can’t be possible. There was nothing more impossible than the lone wolf. But I know he exists…. And on he pushes.
With nothing to lose, and so much to gain, he pushes onward."

At the mention of a giant wolf, Rufus' eyes seem to come alive and he howls at the same time as the wolf in the story. I hug him at the thought of him and I separating and suddenly notice that the dragon has come to sit beside us and listen to the story.

I also vote for spending the night here and trying to find the temple tomorrow.

I look to the strange speaking woman and go to comment, but the tall lady speaks first and answers for me. "So the tall one's the mother of the group, the one by the doors the cautious uncle, the other girls the stroppy teenage sister ...Sheda, 'n' the Elf ... Aerel's the father figure. Gotta try ta remember this." I turn to the new woman, "You're tellin' me, those riots were troublesome. Luckily I was outta danger throughout."

I turn to look at the original man, "My dad was Roran, not ma birth dad, but he raised me. Only family I had, died of Shiver. Never had it before Lamm got involved, I'll have to find 'n' stop the making 'n' selling of it now then. Gotta make dad proud." The whole time I am speaking of my dad my fingers are rubbing and tracing the lines of the scars on my face, it would appear that I am unaware that I am doing so.

Just seeing the applications for this game I am already getting excited! Whoever gets in is going to have an amazing time, I can tell!

The Nine : It took me a while to find me on your list, you spelt my name wrong :P Also what does NSG mean?

Seeing as there are a few Humans in the mix now, I won't worry about the dark-vision unless for some reason no Humans are picked. Being a guard, I had thought about being a night-guardsman ... so Cold Resistance may make a bit of sense, in a fluff kind of way. But will depend on the final team and if I make the cut.

As for class, I will be sticking with Fighter for a while and then thinking about going into Duelist.

Hi all, well I am finally going to give GMing a PbP a go. I have experience GMing in real life, so hopefully it won't be too much harder, but please just bear with me if I don't get it perfect to start with.

The requirements will be:
> 20 point buy system (Stats can be as low or high as possible)
> Core Rulebook and APG allowed (Ultimate Magic and Combat may be allowed on request)
> Core Races (Others may be allowed on request)
> Evil characters allowed (on request and with good story and motives. There is a church of Asmodeus after all.)
> 2 Traits (One of which must be a Campaign Trait)
> Maximum Starting Gold for Class
> Achievement Feats (from Legacy of Fire) allowed
> Able to post daily
> Character backgrounds preferable (the more detail the better).

I will be selecting between 5-6 players for this campaign.
Chaotic Evil characters will have a harder time convincing me to allow them, but could still succeed.
All Gnolls Must Die (Achievement Feat) Will be changed for a more suitable enemy.
Characters can have history with each other if desired and written into their backgrounds.
The closing date for this campaign recruitment will be October 28th, but may end sooner if lots of applicants.

What is your memorable death you have witnessed?

Mine is:

I was controlling a friends character, a female Human Barbarian with a great sword. She was a bit of a stupid person, even for a (stereotype) Barbarian. She saw a goblin run into a house and close the door. So she decided to do a running kick to open the door (as was her style), but when she made the attack to hit the door, I rolled her a natural 1! Then to check to see if the fumble was confirmed I rolled another natural 1! Talk about bad luck.

So I pulled a Fumble card, it said "The attack hits you instead and is a critical threat, roll to confirm". So I rolled to see if it was a critical and guess what...Natural 20! Now this was just terrible luck, but I couldn't help but laugh, neither could the other players and GM. I pulled a Critical card, it said "The attack does triple damage", by this time my mouth was hung open and my jaw hurt from all the laughing. I rolled the damage to see how much it would hurt and it just happened to deal maximum damage, which meant more than her Hit Points minus included!

Death by door, even today we can't stop laughing about that. What makes it even more amusing is that the door was not even locked! Now if we ever come to a door, we make sure to check the door is unlocked!
